Chapter 94: The Final Exam Arc, part. 2
"GoGoat, hit 'em with your Takedown!", Clyde called.
"And Clyoster, use Ice Beam!", Bonnie commanded.
The two Pokemon obeyed and attacked the teens. Clyoster shot a Beam of Ice energy at the two, causing everything it hit to freeze over. This also caused the ground to become more slick and prevented them from running. While GoGoat's sharp hooves broke through the ice and rammed the two in the back causing them to be sent flying away. Luckily this also managed to knock them out of the icy field.
Once they managed to get back up on their aching backs they had time to rest as sharp leaves and a projectile horn was shot at them, thankfully missing! From there the two of them went on the defensive and dodged or ran from any attack sent their way! Unfortunately, they quickly found themselves getting tired very quickly and had to find a fast hiding spot after another Ice Beam erected a pillar of sharp ice!
Once hidden, Kaminari complained breathlessly, "This is really really bad! How are we gonna beat them!? All Might make fighting Pokemon look so easy!"
"That's because he's All Might.", Mina commented back, breathing heavily.
"Clyoster, flush those Ratata out with Scald!", Bonnie yelled as the mollusk Pokémon shot out a stream of water so hot it burned like fire!
The water melted their hiding spot behind some concert rubble, revealing the two spent teens as the two Pokemon surrounded them!
From her spot on top, Clefairy jeered, "You can just give up now. Fairy. Or don't. It doesn't matter to us. Fairy."
"Cheap 2 dollar plush toy!", Mina yelled while flipping her the bird.
A tack mark appeared on her head alongside a furious expression as she yelled to her teammates, "Hit 'em harder! Fairy."
This caused the two Pokemon to fight and pursue them even harder! Leading the teen to quickly become littered with minor injuries and cuts! Small, but got worse over time and with more added. Mina tried to put up a wall of acid as GoGoat charged, but Clyoster blasted it away! And every time Kaminari tried to blast the Pokemon, GoGoat would hook a gone to him and become a living lightning rod. Things were not looking good!
To give them some cover, Mina melted two pillars that fell in front of them. Kicking up a dust cloud and keeping both Pokemon and trainer from seeing their targets. Once hidden again, they both sat down to breathe and brainstormed. But the two couldn't think up a single thing in this dire time. Sometimes they hated being class idiots. Kaminari looked around for something they could use, then saw how wet the floor was and realized the ice created before had melted.
"Mina I have an idea!", Kaminari suddenly exclaimed as a light bulb went off in his head. Mina gave him a look of disbelief and Kaminari complained while flickering her forehead, "Don't give me that look. Just because I act dumb, doesn't mean I am. Listen up.", Mina smiled and gave him her attention.
Meanwhile, the two villains were trying to locate their targets through the setting dust. The Pokemon sniffed or bounced around investigating the area, but nothing. Soon a shape was seen through the dust and they went into action!
"Theirs one!", Clefairy called.
"GoGoat, grab that chump with Nature's Madness!", Clyde called out, as the goat Pokemon raised its head in the air, yelled, and summoned several branches and roots to shoot out and grab the target. Quickly pulling out and up into the air a struggling Mina.
Bonnie laughed and said, "Ha! Got the girl! Now Cloyster, ready another Scald!"
The Pokemon inflamed its checks as boiling water filled it up, easy to fire. What it didn't see was the other shape sneaking around the now-wet floor.
Kaminari jumped out and called, "Not so fast Team Dummies!"
With that, he hit his hands on the floor and used it to zap the oyster Pokemon from a distance! Causing it to miss fire and hit GoGoat! GoGoat yelled as its control over the plants weakened.
"Cloyster!", Bonnie called out as she watched the toasty Pokemon fall over with swirls in its eyes.
"Now!", Kaminari called out.
Mina melted through the plants and running along its base she threw her acid at GoGoat, preventing it from moving as the pink girl came down and slammed a hard kick right into its face!
"GoGoat!", Clyde yelled in panic as the Pokemon fell over with swirls in its eyes as well.
With a tongue click of anger, the two villains returned the Pokemon as the heroes celebrated!
"Ha! Told you two were at the top!", Mina boldly proclaimed while fist-bumping Kaminari.
"Maybe next time bring something stronger or just brush up on your batting skills.", Kaminari jeered them back while sticking out his tongue.
"Like you chumps are one to talk! Fairy.", Clefairy yelled back while flapping her arms and legs in frustration.
Bonnie stood tall and with an irritated tone and posture, she stated, "Oh! If you think that's all the Pokemon we brought them you're sorely mistaken!"
Clyde grunted in agreement as he pulled out a new PokeBall alongside her. But the teens looked undeterred by their threat. Especially Mina who just rolled her eyes while examining her nails.
"Yeah I'm sure you have more tricks up your long ragged sleeves, but we have to end it here. Kaminari, use ThunderBolt!", She commanded while pointing to her friend.
"Pika Pi. 10 million Pika volts.", Kaminari said as he slammed his hand on the wet floor again.
Unfortunately for Team Freak, during their attack, they had to descend from their perch above the teen in favor of seeing the battle proceed and giving orders. Now they were on the wet floor and before they could act, several million volts of electricity hit them and illuminated their skeletons before causing a huge explosion! The team was seen flying out from the explosion and into the open air, flying far away.
"We were so close!", Bonnie yelled.
"We almost won!", Clyde cried.
"And yet still no cigar. Fairy.", Clefairy heaved in exasperation.
"Drifloon.", Drifloon moaned in pain.
"Looks like Team Freak is skulking back again!", They all shouted in unison before disappearing into the sky in a dark dot.
Gar's eyes fluttered open as he arose from his bed. Sitting up and stretching with an overwhelming sense of relief and refreshed energy he commented to himself, "Oh wow! What a great nap! I feel so refreshed!"
"Gar!", Izuku suddenly yelled while appearing out of nowhere and flopping across him in a hug.
"Oh, uh, hey…Izuku.", Gar greeted him confused before taking in his surroundings and seeing he was in the nurse's office, with said nurse sitting at her desk with a Flabebe floating around her. "...Did I miss something?", He spoke up.
Izuku brought his head up and with teary eyes and a relieved tone, he answered, "Yes actually. You and All Might were drugged by Team Freak-."
Ripping off the covers he exclaimed, "What!? Is Bayo here?!"
"No, just Bonnie and Clyde. And don't over-exert yourself.", Recovery Girl told him casually without looking up from her record log.
"Oh those two idiots.", Gar commented with a short before his mind blanked and he exclaimed in realization, "Wait, those two idiots!?"
"They managed to get in, mess with the security, capture Nezu, and nearly caught two of the students while they were taking their test.", Recovery Girl explained.
"Nearly?", Gar questions.
"Kaminari and Mina took them down.", Izuku told him
"Two idiots fighting two idiots. I'll be damned.", Gar said with a proud and amused tone. "So how is everyone else?", He followed up hoping all else was fine
"Nezu's a bit bruised up, you've finally woken up, and the two students have been healed up already. While All Might is still asleep.", Recovery Girl explained while pointing to her across from him.
Looking over he saw the once huge man sleeping in a bed and snoring like a log! He wasn't moving or stirring at all. Gar could tell.
Blinking a few times before asking the old lady, "Did you try-?"
"Yes, I tried Wake Up Slap. Whatever it is, it's strong stuff.", She cut him off with a huff.
"I can't believe they even managed to drug you. From what you say about humans in your world. I thought you wouldn't be affected.", Izuku comments in shock.
Gar rolls his eyes and tells him, "Bonnie and Clyde may be idiots, but they're from my world. They know how I operate."
"As for your test. It's been postponed until All Might wakes up and I give him the okay.", The nurse explained.
Gar then thought for a bit before asking her, "Speaking of such. How long was I out for?"
"A few hours.", She answered, and before I could ask anything else or he and Izuku could discuss anything, she told the two in no uncertain terms, "Now leave my office and get ready for tomorrow."
Gar looked out the window and said she was right. The sun had gone down quite a bit, so school was over. He checked Rotom and saw he had several messages from Photo Finish. He groaned at this and getting out of the bed he left the office with Izuku in tow as he dreaded having to hear whatever the woman had in store for him.
Later the Next Day
The only team of three and the last test to commence finally got their chance as they entered the mock city at the far end with All Might acting as a guard on the other where the goal was. This time they weren't watched by the rest of the class as they were to take normal classes while the three took their test. Needless to say that no one in the group was happy about working together. And they all were itching to either get it over, get away from one another, or get started fighting the other two.
Finally, Present Mic's voice rang out over the loudspeakers as he announced, "Begin!"
The three teens ran through the mock city for several minutes before going to hide once halfway through the fake structure. As they hid away and made sure All Might hadn't made his move, they rested and planned.
Izuku sighs in relief while saying, "Okay, so I gotta plan. Our main priority should be-."
"I'll tell you what our damn plan is! We go in guns blazing and beat All Might down!", Bakugou cut him off while punching his fist.
The two teens looked at him with hard expressions of disbelief and Gar asked him, "You're not serious…right?"
"Bakugou, that's a horrible plan. He's All Might. That might work on another hero, but All Might?!", Izuku added, sounding just as fed up and tired as Gar.
"Yes! You, nerds, got a problem with that!?", Bakugou challenged back.
Gar shot him another look and stated, "Uh, yeah! He's All Might! Enough said. Even my Pokémon have a hard time beating him!"
"Then just use something stronger if you're such a bitch!", Bakugou argued back in a yell, getting in his face.
Gar groans and says to him after slapping his face, "I'm disallowed to use Legendary and Pseudo Legendary Pokémon. And I'm only allowed to use 6."
Bakugou clicks his tongue and begins to walk away while stating, "Whatever, I'm just gonna-!"
"No!", Izuku cuts him off while grabbing his arm.
Shocked and confused by the action, Bakugou questions back, "No?"
Izuku pulls him back, making him face the green teen as he tells him off, "Are you out of your mind?! You're supposed to be smart, yes? Then why are you acting so dumb!", Bakugou looks ready to fire off on him until Izuku continues and complains in a rant, "Stop trying to feed your fragile little ego and use your head. All Might has years of experience ahead of us, the number one hero, and the strongest hero in all of Japan."
Bakugou growled at him and yelled back, "Don't tell me what to do! I'm strong-!"
"All Might strong?", Gar interjected with a raised eyebrow.
Bakugou snarled at him and exclaimed, "You stay out of this!"
Izuku suddenly gets in Bakugou's face, pointing a finger at him he exclaimed, "He's just as much a part of this! Like it or not, we're a team, so we should work together to-."
Bakugou growls at him and yells back into his face, "Shut up stupid Deku! You have no right to talk! Just cause you were a "late bloomer" doesn't mean shit! You're still the weak little nerd I've known! So stay out of my way!"
Bakugou turns away to walk off, but Izuku muttered ever so softly with a shadow covering his face, causing the blond to turn around and demand, "What did you say!?"
Again Izuku mutters and Bakugou marches back to him while half yelling, "Come on, Deku! Quit being a chicken and say it!"
Izuku tightened his fists as he muttered just a bit louder, but not enough to hear anything as Bakugou yelled into his face, "Are you looking down on me!"
"Shut up! You suck a tool!", Izuku yelled louder than he ever had before, right into the blonde's face! He was so shocked and thrown off by the sudden anger that he stumbled away from him as Izuku ranted, "All your life you've been nothing but a tool! The moment your Quirk came you've allowed people to see you as only that! You've done nothing but craft your whole personality around it! It's so pathetic that I should laugh!"
"What-.", Bakugou babbled out, unsure of what to say at seeing the once fearful weakling turn into…him.
Izuku breathed deep and ragged as he continued his scolding, "And another thing! I'm so sick and tired of you! I can't believe that I've allowed myself to be treated like this for so long! I'm such an idiot!"
"At least we can agree on something.", Bakugou retorted with a snort.
Then Izuku did two things Bakugou never expected him to do. First, he glared at him, hard! So hard that he thought he either explode or dies from the look in his eyes! The eyes of someone who wanted to kill. And second, he punches him, hard, and with all his might! But luckily at only 2% of his full power. Bakugou didn't even register the blow to his face until he was on the ground and feeling intense pain. He breathed in painful breaths as he looked up at the furious green boy, his eyes blazing like fire while his mind went blank. Gar had to hold the boy back to keep him from attacking the blond any further. But that didn't stop him from struggling and giving Bakugou a tongue-lashing.
"Shut up! Just shut up, Bakugou! You are nothing but a bully and a jerk who's always trying to prove to others he's better in some imaginary social hierarchy or power-scaling system! You always say I'm looking down on you, but let me ask you something. Do you wanna be the pot or the kettle? Cause that's what you've been doing to me my whole life! Always jumping on the "hate on Deku" bandwagon when everyone started to bully me for something I had no control over!", He yelled at the downed boy as he looked up at him with an unreadable and dumbfounded expression.
The boy's tone changed from anger to regret as he asked between choked-up sounds, "What did I ever do to you? What? I looked up to you my whole life, thinking you'd be an amazing hero!...I guess I was just too blinded by the rose-colored lens to see the red flags. I should've seen it before, but…. you were nothing but a villain. Ever since we were young."
"Wh-Wha-?", Was all the blonde could muster in response.
Izuku's eyes began to fill with tears as he stressed to him, nearing sobs, "I thought that out of anyone in the world who would protect me when I was down…it would've been you. Not joining in on the abuse! I was weak and you were strong and yet you used that to hurt me more times than I could count! That's not what heroes do. They don't hurt the weak, they protect them! And what did you do? What does that make you?", Bakugou said nothing, his breath caught in his throat. So Izuku prompts him and yells, "Come on. Tell me!"
He still says nothing in response and tried to look away, but feels his ego punch himself for showing weakness. Izuku says and said in a low tone, "Maybe less is better said.", After wiping his eyes dry he tells Bakugou, "So fine! Go ahead with your "plan". Go ahead and rush headlong into a fight you have zero chance of winning! See if I care! Me and Gar will use our heads and win this without you."
Bakugou still says nothing. His mind racing with thoughts he's never had before. He wanted to speak or scream or anything, but something prevented him from uttering a sound. He just sat on his butt with his body stiff and staring up at the teen.
Izuku saw Bakugou still sitting there and yelled at him, "What are you waiting for? Get lost!"
For some reason, Bakugou silently complies for once. He scrambled to his feet and took off with his mind still racing as he ran out of view.
Once gone, Gar, who was standing in the background and watching the whole exchange with a flabbergasted yet concerned expression, says, "Wow. That was…quite a lot to unload.", He sees Izuku trying to fight off tears and holding his shoulder her asked, "How are you feeling, Izuku?"
Izuku sniffles back what he can before answering, "I'm fine…I guess? I'm not sure. I just feel like a mess inside."
Gar places a hand on his head and assured him, "That's normal after doing what you did. You needed it. And he needed to hear it.", He then turned Izuku to him and wiping his face told him, "But dry your eyes. We'll sort through your feelings later. Let's figure out a way to avoid confrontation with All Might."
Izuku sniffles once more, wipes his face, and nods affirmatively. Gar summons out a Pokemon and the two of them run back into the city, making their way to the exit while trying to figure out the best plan possible. Meanwhile, back in the observation room, Aizawa and Nezu, who had watched the exchange between the teens, decided to confront the two of them after this had ended…if they didn't get completely floored by All Might. They hoped he'd take it easy, even with the restraints.
