Chapter 79 Here to Support You
An's POV
When I thought about all the memories I'd made in Vivid Street, I didn't think giving birth would be one of them. However, that's exactly what happened.
Currently, I was lying down on a futon behind the counter of Weekend Garage while my teammates and parents surrounded me. And while I couldn't see them, I knew that the majority of everyone on Vivid Street had shown up to support me.
And speaking about people showing up, the the bell at the front door rang, signaling that more people had arrived at the café.
"Has my niece been born yet", I heard Ena ask.
"Where are you, An", I heard Haruka ask.
"We're behind the counter, Haruka-Chan", Kohane revealed.
A moment later, Haruka and Ena came into view.
"How are you feeling, An", I heard Mizuki ask from the other side of the counter.
"I'm feeling f…"
Before I could finish…I screamed as I felt another surge of pain.
Then, I looked over at the midwife that had thankfully been in Vivid Street when we arrived.
"How long until this baby is out of me", I asked.
"Judging by the spacing of your contractions, it shouldn't be long now."
After the midwife said this, I yelled as yet another surge of pain hit me.
"It hurts", I cried out.
"I know it does, honey", my mom said as she cradled my head from behind me. "But trust me. All the pain will be worth it in the end."
After my mom said this…a look of excitement came to the midwife's face.
"I can see the head!"
"Really", I asked.
"Yes", the midwife replied. "Get ready, An. The final hurdle is coming up.
"Hold onto me, An-Chan", Kohane said, before tightening the grip she had on my hand.
"And hold onto me as well", Akito added, before tightening his grip on my other hand.
"We'll support you, Shiraishi-San", Toya added from behind Akito.
"I know you guys will", I said. "You always have."
With that, I got into position. My teammates were at my sides while my parents held me from behind.
"It's almost over, An", Haruka said.
"You can do it, An", Ena said.
"You've got this, An", Mizuki said.
"Alright An", the midwife started. "On the count of three, one more last big push, and your baby will be here. Are you ready?"
After I was asked this…I took a deep breath, and nodded.
"I'm ready."
"Okay then", the midwife said. "One the count of three. One. Two. Three!"
With that, I screamed as I felt the biggest surge of pain corse through me.
Then…the sound of screaming was gone, and it was replaced by…the sound of a baby crying.
I opened my eyes…and there she was. A tiny little baby with a tuff of orange hair just like her father's.
"Congratulations on your healthy baby girl."
After the midwife said this, she passed the baby over to me.
As soon as she was in my arms, she opened her eyes, and they were amber just like mine.
"Hi there, sweetie", I greeted with a soft voice. "It's so nice to finally meet you."
After I said this, I turned to look at Akito…who was staring at the baby in awe.
"That's your daddy", I revealed. "Go say hi."
With that…I held the baby closer to Akito.
He reached his hand out to her, and then…she grabbed onto his finger.
When this happened…he started sobbing as tears fell from his eyes.
Then, he got closer to the baby and put his arm protectively around her.
"She's perfect", he said, before looking up at me. "I can't believe it. We have a daughter."
"We do", I said, before looking down at my daughter in my arms.
"She's so cute, An-Chan", Kokane said. "Congratulations!"
"Right", Toya said. "Congratulations, you guys."
"Thank you so much for being here guys", I said.
Then, I looked around at everyone who was here with me, and smiled.
"Once again, everyone on Vivid Street was here to support me", I pointed out. "Thank you so much everybody!"
After I said this, everyone smiled.
Then, Ena walked up to us.
"Hi there, sweetie", she greeted the baby. "I'm your Auntie Ena. It's so nice to meet you!"
After Ena said this, she looked up at us.
"Well", she started. "Don't keep us waiting! What's my niece's name?"
With that, Akito and I looked at each other, and nodded. We had already decided on a name, but hadn't shared it with anyone.
"Her name…is Himawari. Shinonome Himawari."
"That's such a cute name", Kohane stated.
"It's perfect", my dad said, before looking at his granddaughter. "Welcome into the world, Himawari."
