King Wretch was flying Jack away, the boy struggling to get free. He gasped as his arm slipped and he flailed around. "Ah! Please don't drop me! Please don't drop me! Please don't drop me!" He pleaded while lifting up his legs. He slipped again while hugging the wretch's leg. "Ah! I said don't drop me!" He was then flung off the leg, landing in an ice cream truck. He stepped out while wearing an ice cream mask. "I can't see! Ah! I can't see!" He walked around aimlessly and then finally pulled it off. He looked up and then flinched in alarm to see multiple wretches all staring at him. "Don't wanna see! Don't wanna see!"

He looked at the head and then dropped it, laughing nervously. He reached for his slicer, but it had landed in the truck. "Uh, hi!" He attempted to reach for his weapon, only for a wretch to get out of hiding. He yelped as he stepped back, since if he tried getting it, he would be eaten. "Uh, hello there, how are you?" He backed away, only to be cornered by a wretch. "How's the missus?" He backed away towards a store, a bunch of wretches cornering him. "You really like free comics day, huh?" He gripped the doorknob behind him. "Well, too bad. The store is closed!" He threw the door open and slammed it, gagging. "That smell! The stench of evil," He stepped further into the comic store, which had a giant hole in the ceiling. "All right, Jack. You stopped Rezzoch once, you can do it again," He said while pinching his nose. "Probably."

He looked up and gasped, squinting up ahead at something. King Wretch was there in the darkness, opening his eyes and growling. He slowly stepped towards Jack, letting out a screech. Jack groaned, holding his head from the noise. He kneeled and when he opened his eyes, they were blue. He suddenly was in another vision, and surrounded by nothing. He looked around trying to get a grip on where he was, when he suddenly heard radio static.

"Please respond immediately," He turned around and gasped to see a radio playing the message. "Help us find the others. Help us! Jack!"

"What?" He asked in alarm of his name being heard, even though they had never actually responded to the message.

"Help us, Jack!" He frowned down at the radio. "Jack, you're our only hope," Her voice echoed and then the message stopped.

Biggun was leading the others to Jack, stomping on his way back to Wakefield. Dirk was using his binoculars to scope out the area. He could see two wretches flying above where Jack was placed. "They're circling like vultures."

Quint took the binoculars back from him. "And vultures eat dead stuff!" He panicked and May gasped sharply.

"Oh no," She murmured in worry.

"Step on it, big guy!" June called out and he did so, having lights between his horns to light his way. He continued running faster.

"This is too big for Jack, too big for all of us!" Quint panicked, June putting an arm on his shoulder. "We need help!" He pulled out his walkie talkie. "Cool Guy 5! Come in, Cool Guy 5! We need you! Over!" June glanced at Dirk and May, since she had no idea who he was referring to.

"Jack. Tell me something, Jack," The radio voice prompted him and he could stare at it.

"What, what is it?" He questioned, having no clue what she was talking about.

"Tell me, Jack, did you really think showing them the most fun ever would actually convince your friends to stay?" The radio started floating, the voice sounding more and more like Rezzoch by the word. Jack gasped sharply, holding his head. "Really?"

"Ah! Get out of my head!" He shouted angrily, and the vision stopped as he was back in the comic shop. King Wretch stared at him silently. "Why are you playing games with me?!" He demanded while kneeling, holding his head.

"This is no game, Jack," King Wretch stood up as Rezzoch revealed herself from the scar. He screamed and hid behind a stand, seeing a toy axe. He glanced between it and the stand, seeing a comic book and taking it. He narrowed his eyes, looking up.

"You know what, Rezzoch?" He took the axe bravely. "How about we just skip to the part where I end you? Like I did Blarg, and Thrull, and my pet goldfish that I mistakenly overfed when I was 9!" Rezzoch didn't wait a response as he kept going. "That's right, I'm gonna end you just like I did Homer the Goldfish! You're nothing special, Rezzoch. You're just next!" He lunged forward, ready to attack.

"Oh, Jack. You have no idea what's next. I'm not here to fight," As she spoke, he inched closer to her. "I need your help."

"Say what now?" He dropped the axe, raising a brow in confusion.

A wretch flew down, the four watching them guard the comic book store. "We're never getting in there without help," June spoke up to them.

"He should be here by now," Quint whispered while looking around. They heard barking, turning to the side to see Rover running in with Skaelka riding him. They slipped past the wretches, and Biggun grabbed one by the neck. He threw it into a building.

"Biggun? Skaelka?" June wondered as the ice cream head was suddenly floating. It was tossed to a wretch, and two wretches were knocked into each other.

"Cool Guy 5 is in the house!" Quint cheered at this. "Come on!" Bardle revealed himself while two wretches both hit a fire extinguisher and crashed into a building behind him. He threw down his hands as another one landed in front of him.

"At the Tree of Entry, I saw you, Jack, and I was impressed," Rezzoch started off to him. "That's why we're here, in this temple of heroes. Heroes, like you," By temple, she meant the figures and comic books. "So powerful. Consider me a fan."

"A fan? You hurt Rover! You tried to kill my friends!" He accused her angrily.

"I needed your undivided attention. I showed you what would happen to the world if you continued to fight me. If you gave up your destiny..." Her tentacles started reaching out to him, but he fought her off.

"You're wasting your belly breath!" He growled at her. "I'm not just another limping Thrull waiting to do your bidding."

"You're right. You're stronger. Strong where it matters, inside," She reached out to him and he backed away in fear. "This world's last hero," Comics started flying off the shelves. "Bring me into this world," He swung the axe around. "And nothing will ever come between you and your friends again!" One of her tentacles grabbed the axe. "Once I have bonded with you, as I did with the Wretch," He struggled to get it back as she grabbed his arm and leg. She snatched away the axe to grab all his limbs. "The future will be yours! Ours!" He struggled, gritting his teeth up at her.

"I'll never help you!"

"It's too late," She snapped his axe in half. "The process has already begun," Blue veins appeared on his body thanks to the scar, and he left out a scream. Then he felt weaker, his body falling limp. She slowly put him on the ground as his eyes were blue again and he looked up ominously.

June spun her staff as Bardle joined her side. He blasted some magic towards a wretch. "Wait, you're Cool Guy 5?" She questioned as Quint popped up behind them to pick the lock from the comic book shop.

"Quint gave me a nickname," Bardle gestured to the boy. Dirk and May joined them.

"Uhh, so who are Cool Guys One through Four?" He couldn't help but ask.

"Also me, as I understand it. Although according to Quint, May will always be the coolest one to him," Bardle answered and May gushed as Quint smiled proudly.

"Aww, you softie," She smiled while nudging him. They entered the store and entered, seeing Jack on the floor.

"Jack!" June exclaimed and joined his side. She immediately saw the blue eyes, frowning in concern. "We gotta help him."

"Umm," Dirk started off nervously while pointing forward. June looked up and gasped, seeing why. King Wretch was still in front of Jack. "It's just standing there!" King Wretch wasn't moving at all, probably because Rezzoch wasn't in control of it right now. Quint bent down in front of Jack.

"Jack, you there, friend?" He snapped his fingers, waving a hand in front of his face.

"Hey! Brohiem! Wake up!" Dirk shook him a little.

May bent down and slapped him across the face lightly. "Hmm...Jack, June is in danger!" She said to freak him out a little, but even that didn't faze him.

"Ha ha," June deadpanned, a small blush on her face regardless. "You get him out of here, I'm gonna spear this wannabe dragon into next Sunday!" She lunged forward while the others were about to grab Jack.

"Right!"

"Wrong!" Bardle pushed between the three, levitating June's spear out of her hands. She turned around and he held up a hand, his hand still sparkling. "Hold, friends. The beast and Jack are connected now. If either of them are disturbed, Jack's essence will be lost within the beast forever."

"Bardle, it's Jack," June told him seriously. "We need to fight."

"Indeed," He dug into his pocket and pulled out...a bug? He squashed it, letting its essence hit the ground. The four watched him as he put it behind them, drawing a symbol. He then ate the bug, grossing them out. Once he swallowed the bug, the symbol glowed and he stepped in front of it. "We can fight." He sat down in front of the symbol and put a candle in the middle. It floated once he let go. "But not in this realm," He held out their hands and they looked to each other silently. If this was the only way, then they'd do it.

Meanwhile, in his own mind, Jack was running away from a monster. "There is no escape, boy!" Rezzoch's voice told him.

"I'm not trying to escape!" He argued back to her, looking around. "I'm buying time to figure out how to squash you like a potato bug!" He dove to hide behind some rocks, and then looked up ahead with wide eyes. "Ah! The mall?" He was suddenly standing in a hallway in the mall. The creature behind him roared and he ran off, panting. He slid to a stop to hide, holding his head as it felt like he couldn't have a moment of peace. "Come on, hero, think! Hero, hero, hero!" Something suddenly sparkled in front of him, and he was then holding the axe that Rezzoch broke earlier. He stood up with an awed smile. "Oh, wow! How did I-"

The creature found him right then and there, lifting up the box. He screamed as he ran off, standing up and thinking up a suit. "You were right, Rezzoch. I am strong! Comic book strong. Video game strong! Superhero strong—ahh!" He cried out in pain as the creature stepped on him, thanks to him monologuing. Rezzoch's arms reached out to him from the monster, and all his gear disappeared.

"Your resistance is foolish," She was actually in the monster, just like how she was in the King Wretch. "Your only hope is to join me." He let out a shout and then there was a flash of white. Suddenly he was in the cemetery, and no monster was to be found. He stood up in confusion, but then it turned into confidence.

"Another scene change, Rezzoch? It's gonna take more than that to mess me up!" He could hear crying behind him, turning around and following the sound. He peeked behind a tree...and saw a grave for Rover, along with flowers and a football. "Rover?" He asked slowly, and the four people in front of the grave were his friends crying over him. "Guys?" He approached them carefully. "Guys?" They all flinched and then they all changed colors, as if they were transparent. "June?" He reached out a hand as 'June' gained a wide smile. "Guys?" He fell backwards as they turned around, whimpering as they all had wide smiles on their faces, but more creepy looking.

Meanwhile, the others were holding hands with Bardle while surrounding the symbol. The other monsters were still fending off the wretches as Biggun took something and ran off with it. Skaelka happily swung her axe. Dirk took a quick glance to Jack.

"Oh, he's getting pale," He reported to them.

"Then I suggest you get moving," Bardle stated as all the walls around them started to move away, to their shock. They looked around as they were in Jack's mindspace, the symbol disappeared and leaving the candle. Bardle's body disappeared to only leave his head, alarming them all as they started floating.

"What is this?" June questioned as they moved around.

"Jack is in a dream, a place between worlds, a nightmare-scape," Bardle informed them as a talking head. "And now you are in it too."

"Dude! Ask people before you drop them into a nightmare-scape!" Dirk facepalmed in disbelief.

"Sorry," Bardle simply replied and May shook her head.

"If it's to save Jack, it doesn't matter what it is," She reminded Dirk, who grumbled while crossing his arms.

"So, we're in Jack's head?" June questioned in shock and Quint sniffed the air.

"It smells like nachos in here," Quint pointed out.

"Yup, then we're in the right place," May said to herself.

"Be forewarned, thanks to Rezzoch's considerable power, this world of dreams can actually hurt you," Bardle told the four.

"I knew it! I totally knew he was gonna say that!" Dirk lamented at this news.

"But the work I've been doing these last few months may be of help. Astral projection and lucid dreaming, dreams you can control," As he was speaking, his head actually duplicated to show them.

"But how does any of this help Jack?" June wondered since she arguably had the most drive to save him.

"In theory, you'll be able to bend this environment into your whim. Allow me to demonstrate," Bardle closed his eyes, and suddenly, their treehouse appeared. They stopped floating and landed in the leaves. They then landed on the patio, looking towards him. "You should be able to flex your imaginations into weapons," The two heads spoke in unison.

"I like real weapons!" Dirk argued back, pushing open the door behind him. He was then confused to see that the door still led to another part of the treehouse, close enough to look down at the others. Quint opened up a window, only to end up back on the patio.

"Um, maybe we should just follow you?" Quint looked up at Bardle.

"I am not here. This is only a projection," Bardle's heads spun around.

"Why do we always need projections instead of the actual help?" May muttered while they were exploring the windows.

"I must stay in the real world," Dirk went through a window, seeing a bunch of posters around. "And use my power to keep your souls tethered to your bodies." Quint went through another door, crawling out of it...ending up upside down.

"Uh, yes, super good idea," June stammered a little as the three went over to help him down. "Souls, bodies, priority number one."

"You must rescue Jack and return to our world before this candle burns out," Bardle instructed the four as his heads merged back into one. A large candle also appeared in front of them. The candle then turned into a melting moon. "If not, you'll all be trapped here in the nightmare world forever. Rezzoch wins, and the world ends!" He looked at them ominously, and honestly scary-looking.

"Okay, important tip from the giant orbiting Bardle head," June pointed out nervously.

"Thank god he's on our side," May whispered to the three of them so that Bardle wouldn't hear.

"Any questions?" They glanced to each other in thought.

"Oh! Can we get a bigger candle?" Dirk pointed up at the moon.

"No, but good question," The Bardle head disappeared and down below the moon were the nightmare versions of them talking to Jack.

"You're too weak to be a hero," Nightmare Dirk mocked him. Then the forest changed to be in lighter colors. "Heroes are strong, like me." He turned around and picked up a tree. He then pulled it out of its roots, Jack glancing up at Nightmare June next to him.

"Oh, sweet, simple Jack," She giggled while touching his cheek. "I never liked you! I wish you left me at the school!" He sniffed a little at this, as even though it was a nightmare, it still hurt hearing those words from her.

"You know, I was never really your friend," Nightmare Quint said while walking behind him. "I just felt sorry for you."

"When I rescued you, it was because you were too pathetic to fight for yourself," Nightmare May spoke up while circling him, hands behind her back. She then glanced over her shoulder, looking at her fingernails casually. "And all those times I felt sorry for you was just so that you wouldn't be a whiner." Nightmare Dirk threw the tree and Jack yelped as he ducked his head. He whimpered, his hands turning pale. He looked at them in alarm.

"I told you, Jack," Rezzoch's voice spoke up while the Nightmare versions of his friends surrounded him. "Help me, or you will lose everything!"

"I'll stop you! I'll stop you!" He declared, and there were tears falling from his eyes. "I WILL!"

"And when I reach your world..." The four all suddenly had speakers for mouths, along with headphones over their ears. "I will destroy them as well!" Nightmare Dirk opened up his jacket to reveal the speaker Rezzoch was using to communicate with him right now. They all stepped towards him.

"NOOOOOOOO!" He cried out in agony as they reached towards him...

"How're we supposed to save Jack if we can't even find him!" Dirk started to panic as they were still at the treehouse.

"The big Bardle head said we should be able to bend the environment to our will," Quint reminded with a smile. He tapped his body and a backpack replaced his tool belt. He then pulled out a giant golden part. "I just need to build a..." They watched him in awe as he was quickly building.

"Whoa, that's cool!" Dirk smiled at him as May squealed, her hands on her cheeks.

"Yes, Quint, slay!" She gushed at this and he summoned Jack's slicer. He then held up a giant compass, with Jack's slicer acting as the arrow. There was even a little Jack head on top.

"Ah! A Jack tracker! We go..." The compass spun and then stopped towards the left. "That-a-way!"

"Cool!" June smiled and then summoned her staff. She spun it and out it away. "Let's go!"

May looked at her hands and summoned her shovel claws, but they were much sharper. "Alright!" She cheered while pumping a fist.

Dirk squeezed his eyes shut, clenching his fists. "Dude, are you pooping?" June asked cautiously and May immediately slid over to Quint. "In Jack's head?"

"Nope, not standing near that," She said while waving a hand.

"No!" He said with his voice strained. "Better!" He pointed towards the fence, which opened up and produced a monster truck.

"Whoa!"

"Cool!"

"As long as I don't have to repair it, I'm good with this!"

"Ah. My dream creation, so I'm driving," Dirk smiled as they ran forward.

"Cool!" Quint held out his hand in front of him. "Milkshakes!" Instead of getting milkshakes, he got what was in the milkshake and no cup. He groaned at the substance on his hands and shook it off.

"Think of having a genie and being specific with what you want," May giggled a little.

"Milkshakes in two cups!" Quint emphasized and two cups appeared, one in front of him and May. Both of them caught their shakes and ran into the monster truck. Dirk grinned and took off, with fire coming from the tracks. Meanwhile, the moon let out a few drips, meaning that the candle was slowly burning out.

Jack struggled while the Nightmares of his friends were grabbing him. "Stop! Please!" He pleaded with them, trying to get them off. "I don't wanna fight you!" His arm got even paler, some blue veins appeared on it. "No! I can't give up!" Suddenly, the noise of the truck distracted them and he ran off. The truck stopped in front of Jack and his friends, the real ones, all stared at him. "I'll take you on too! You're all going down!"

"Jack, no!" Quint protested as he tried to fight Dirk.

"Hold it, bro!" Dirk held a hand in front of him to stop Jack's punch.

"Whoa!" Quint then noticed the other versions of them. "Fake me! And you! And you! And you!"

"Dude, we're the real us!" Dirk attempted to assure him.

"How do I know?" He questioned skeptically, since he didn't want to be tricked again.

"Because we got help to send us here to get you out!" May gestured to the four.

"Come on, Jack," June approached him calmly. "You know." He faltered as she stared at him, beggingly.

"Oh, we could have a quiz! To determine which individual best knows Jack's d-"

"It is the real you!" Jack interrupted happily, and they all shared a group hug. "...Wait, you guys are in my head?" He finally processed this fact. "Does it smell like nachos to you too?"

May shrugged with a small hum. "Yeah, but hey, can't go wrong with-" Nightmare Dirk kicked the monster truck away, sending it rolling down a hill. They all looked back nervously, the nightmares ready to face them off.

"You're going down, evil non-friends!" Quint declared as the four stood in front of Jack protectively, and he smiled. The two groups stared each other down before letting out a battle cry, rushing forward. Dirk punched his counterpart, which he blocked and Dirk put his arms around his neck.

"I'm gonna wipe the floor with your handsome, muscular, well-dressed rear end!" He raised a fist, and his counterpart gave off a static sound. Dirk shouted as he pulled away to cover his ears, the nightmare tackling him to the ground.

Quint tossed a boomerang filled with fuses, his counterpart doing the same. They cancelled each other out and exploded. "Et tu, Quinte?" He pulled out a bolo and threw it, trapping Nightmare Quint's legs. "Ha! I thought it, and it happened!" Nightmare Quint pulled out a bigger bolo, bigger than Quint himself, and he got caught in it. He screamed as he was sent flying back, his shoes landing nearby.

June clashed with her counterpart, jumping up and swinging her spear. Nightmare June jumped over it and hit her spear against June's. June pushed her back, spinning her spear and continued hitting her spear against Nightmare June's. "Only time I ever wished I wasn't so awesome!" She called out, both of them continuing to clash.

May's shovel claws clashed against Nightmare May's claws. May slid against the ground to try and capture her counterpart's legs, only for Nightmare May to flip backwards and land next to May. May blinked up at her in confusion, spinning away from her counterpart before she could punch May in the face. The girl then yelped as her counterpart threw her shovel claw towards her and May jumped over it by hopping a couple feet in the air. "Why did I have to continue cheerleading? Why?!" She exclaimed in disbelief.

Jack laughed while his friends were fighting off their counterparts. "You're gonna have to do better than that, Rezz-y baby!" A pair of blue glowing eyes appeared behind him and snapped a finger. Green moss suddenly engulfed all of them, and they landed inside of Joe's Pizza. The moss formed into Jack's own counterpart, and he ducked from a punch. Jack attempted to strike but missed, and his counterpart clashed with him.

"Bending you to my will was fun!" Nightmare Jack spoke up, but had Rezzoch's voice. "But breaking you will be exquisite!" Nightmare Jack spun around to kick Jack to the ground. They pinned Jack to the ground, and he blocked a punch from them.

"Keep trying!" Jack bit back up at them. "I don't break easy, Jerk Sullivan!"

As they were fighting off their counterparts, the whole building flipped to be on its side. Dirk fell and when he landed, he continued tussling with Nightmare Dirk. His counterpart grabbed Dirk and then flipped him onto the table. Everyone shouted in alarm as they fell onto the ceiling thanks to the room spinning again. The five joined each other, glaring at their adversaries.

"We're too evenly matched," Jack stated as they stared each other down.

"They know what's coming every time!" June gritted her teeth while clutching her staff. Jack gave a look of thought.

"Switch dance partners!" He ordered the four and they moved around.

"You got it, friend!" Quint smiled and the nightmares stepped forward. Jack circled Nightmare Dirk between a ceiling fan. Nightmare Dirk jumped up and landed on the fan, punching his fists together. As Dirk and Nightmare Jack faced off, the real Jack jumped and used his feet to stomp on the fan. Nightmare Dirk went flying across the room, as Dirk held up Nightmare Jack. The two counterparts crashed into each other, landing at the Joe's Pizza sign. Quint, May, and June all leaped, landing on a wall. Quint stood up with a grin, holding up a bazooka.

"May I cut in?"

"Indeed, good sir!" June replied as they stood back to back. Nightmare May lunged for him and he used the bazooka against her to fire a binder. She fell down below into the kitchen.

"Yeah!" Quint cheered at this and then looked apologetic. "It's not the real May, but I felt a bit awkward doing that."

June stuck her spear in Nightmare Quint's bazooka, causing it to explode and he fell backwards. He hit the door and when the room spun again, he slid into the kitchen.

May ducked from June's spear, catching it between the shovel claws. She smirked and then used the spear to knock Nightmare June backwards. She fell into the kitchen as well, turning to Quint and placing a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, Quint. I'd feel awkward too."

"Thanks, May," He smiled at her.

"And by the way, worst Quint impression ever, friend!" June pointed at the kitchen and they did a three-way high-five. Dirk meanwhile was having a lot of joy punching Nightmare Jack, mainly because it was Rezzoch in there.

"This is way too much fun!" He called out while Jack was running from Nightmare Dirk, the three watching him. Jack stood in front of the jukebox and Nightmare Dirk headed straight for him.

"Time to face the music!" Jack revealed mustard and ketchup at his face, and he moved away. Nightmare Dirk crashed into the jukebox. "Okay! Let's end this and get out of here!" Nightmare Jack attempted to punch Dirk, but he had his hand over the nightmare's forehead, pushing him back. Dirk laughed and pushed the nightmare away. Nightmare Jack stared and then just grinned evilly. They lunged forward, punching Dirk repeatedly.

"A little help!" He shouted and the four ran over. Just as Dirk was sent flying, the other four leapt forward, all of them hitting the head at once. The nightmare kneeled over and yelled in pain, turning back into green moss. It engulfed them and suddenly they were standing in front of their school. Lightning flashed and a familiar figure appeared on top of the roof.

"Thrull?!" Jack gasped in shock. It wasn't the real Thrull, but it was Rezzoch possessing a vision of his body, since the blue energy was inside of his body. And they could tell thanks to the gaping hole from his chest. A bunch of monsters were summoned, all of them screeching at the group. They backed away towards the statue in alarm.

"Your head's a dangerous place, dude," Dirk commented while glancing to Jack.

"Tell me about it," Jack agreed with him as they stared down the monsters.

Back in the real world, Jack's body was getting paler. Bardle was still making sure their souls were still connected. Screeching was heard from outside thanks to the wretches. Skaelka screamed as she was tossed right through the window. She grabbed her axe while approaching Bardle in a panic, the wretch right behind her.

"Bardle, we can't hold them off forever!" She shouted, swinging her axe at the attacking wretch. However, Bardle couldn't answer her as she led the wretch back outside. The candle's wax continued to melt, and the moon in the nightmare-scape also melted. There were at least a dozen monsters approaching them as everyone except Jack stepped forward. That was because his body was getting taken over by veins and he screamed. They turned to him in alarm.

"Circle around Jack! Keep him safe," June told the others and they got closer to him.

"What do we do?" Quint looked up while placing his hands on Jack's shoulders.

"We can't take on all these guys!" May gestured to the monsters.

"Bardle said we can make stuff, we just need to think bigger!"

"Dream bigger!" Quint realized while looking up.

"Nightmare bigger!" She looked back with a smirk.

"I'm way ahead of you!" Dirk grinned as his body started bulging, spikes appearing from the back of his body. His body turned purple as his feet got big enough to break his shoes off. He then ripped off his shirt as he was a giant purple monster with a green mohawk and with giant muscles. "Oh yeah! Dirk monster! Hi-ya!" He leapt forward and slammed the ground, knocking all the monsters back.

Quint spun around, clones of him appearing. "The more of me, the merrier!" He called out as they all produced weapons. They started firing at the monsters, knocking them back with explosives.

"Time for June 2.0!" As June spun her staff, an orange glow appeared from it. Then she gained a black and green bodysuit, leaping forward and swinging her spear. A large blast emanated from it, knocking monsters back. She swung her leg to kick one, using her spear against another. She then held the staff straight to shock them, smiling and planting her staff into the ground.

May did an overarching backflip to land between some monsters. They surrounded her immediately, but then she spun around as her shovel claws had grown larger and sharper. However, they were actually connected to her palms now instead of her wrists to give her more range. And she was wearing a bodysuit like June's, but with pink highlights instead of green.

"You're the strongest, June," Nightmare Jack, speaking as Rezzoch, appeared behind the statue. June looked away with a glare. "You don't need them. You need me!" The tip of her spear glowed as she spun around to destroy not only the monsters around her, but to swing at the statue. Nightmare Jack hid away, so she ended up cutting off the statue instead.

"I'm strong because of them!" She argued back angrily.

Dirk lifted up the statue she just broke off, swinging towards the monsters. He used the statue as a weapon against them, and then dropped it.

"I can make this real for you, Dirk," Rezzoch spoke up with a big smile while standing behind him. "Join me, and I can make you a monster in the real world." He looked at himself in shock and then gritted his teeth. He clenched a fist and held up his arms, breaking off the tape around them as his arms were now much bigger. He used his hands to slap them together, almost as if getting rid of a bug. However, she turned into moss and slithered away.

The Quint clones jumped in the air, firing various blasts at the monsters. He landed safely and Nightmare Jack appeared nearby. "Quint," He immediately turned towards her, bazooka ready. "You're the smart one. You know things are only going to get worse, Quint," He kept his stance, glaring at her. "Just think, you'll lose your cute new girlfriend if you don't do something about it," He faltered after hearing this, slowly dropping the bazooka. "But if you join me..." A bug crawled across her eye.

"Rezzoch, I'll tell you the same thing I said when I opened up an empty Yahtzee box," He glared up at her while reaching into his bag. "No dice!" He held up bug spray and used it against her. All the Quints did the same to her until she sunk to the ground. "And I trust my girlfriend!"

Before May could comment, Rezzoch appeared near her while she was fighting off monsters by simply using her claws against them. "Oh May~" She gasped and turned around to Nightmare Jack. "Clearly, you have many skills thanks to your history of athletics. And I know you miss your dear father. If you help me, I can find out the real truth..."

May narrowed her eyes in contempt. "Think again, Rezzoch. I'd rather deal with my father than to help you!" She swung her arm so that her large claws could impale her, but she disappeared before it could hit her.

"This is all just a distraction to keep us here!" June called out as Jack was getting worse. "We've gotta get out before-" Jack let out a scream as he looked like a ghost, his eyes turning blue.

"I can't! Rezzoch's already inside me! GO!"

"We're not leaving you," Quint said in determination, smiling encouragingly.

"Ever," Dirk added in with his monster voice. Jack looked up while his body was twitching.

"Friends don't leave each other behind. We're more than friends, we're your family, Jack," May bent down in front of him.

"You can fight it, Jack," June pleaded as tears fell from Jack. "You have power here."

He squeezed his eyes shut and then opened them. "GET...OUT!" He screamed at the top of his lungs as a blue shockwave occurred. Once it was over, he panted slowly, looking at himself being back to normal. He let out a sigh of relief and Dirk laughed while standing up, hugging all of his friends. Rezzoch screamed as her face appeared above the school. They glanced up as a portal appeared, looking similar to the one that brought the monsters to Wakefield. Shadows fell down from the sky, revealing themselves to be more monsters. "Fighting demons from my subconscious, that's what friends are for!" He punched his fists together as they stood bravely.

"Let's do this," Dirk grinned widely, letting out a roar. He leapt forward and disappeared into the crowd, stomping out monsters in the process. Quint took out another bazooka and his clones reappeared. They all fired explosives into the crowd. June jumped up while spinning her spear, letting out a giant shockwave.

May smirked while her claws spun around like fans. She ran forward and then jumped, landing between a line of monsters. When she landed, she slid across the ground while her claws were still spinning, knocking out monsters left and right as if she was a backhoe loader.

Jack lifted himself up into the air, an orange hue appearing on his body. Suddenly he got decked out in armor, his slicer appearing in his hand. He lunged forward, smashing a monster to dust. The monsters all looked at him in fear. He started slicing them while running past, the last one turning into dust. Meanwhile, the moon was almost gone.

"The candle! You must return now!" Bardle informed them from the sky.

"You heard Cool Guy 5, time to split!" Quint grinned while holding his bazooka.

"Uh-huh!" Jack agreed in relief, looking towards the monsters getting swept away. Then it was revealed that it was Rover fending them off. "Rover! You're not dead!" He ran over to Rover, gasping happily. "Buddy!"

But then...Rover's eyes started glowing blue. "Uh, buddy?" He lifted up a paw and then swiped at Jack, knocking him towards the others.

"Jack!" June shouted as they surrounded him.

"No, no, no, no! No, Jack!" Quint said in a panic as they held him.

Rover snarled, getting their attention as he was standing on top of the statue platform. "I warned you," Rover's face turned into Nightmare Jack's, and then fully formed the body back. Jack let out a groan, and they gasped. They looked at the scratch mark over his suit, but then it disappeared. He stood up slowly.

"And now, I'm warning you!" He turned around, as he had healed himself thanks to this being his mind. He shouted and then grew bigger in height.

"Dude!" Dirk shouted in awe.

"This is my head!" Jack glared down at Nightmare Jack. "My head, my rules! Not yours!" He looked towards his right and picked up a school bus. "And if someone's gonna create chaos and destruction in here, it's gonna be me!" He used the school bus to knock all the monsters back, dropping the vehicle. Then all the monsters disappeared. "And I don't belong to you, Rezzoch. I belong with them!"

Dirk wrapped his arms around his friends. "I really love that idiot," He said in a tearful voice, the others smiling up at him. "Don't tell him I said that."

Jack flung Rezzoch into the school entrance, and they stood up. Jack then stepped on her like a bug, looking at his boot. "Ew!" He said in disgust, using the entrance to wipe it with. The others ran up to him cheering.

"That was super gross!"

"I got Rezzoch on me!"

"I got Rezzoch in my hair!"

"No!" Bardle cried out, interrupting their victory. "It's too late!" He looked at his hands, as the candle was reduced to a tiny little flame. "Cannot hold it!" He gritted his teeth, and Dirk's body stopped moving, which he could sense in the nightmare-scape.

"No! We'll be trapped here forever!" He cried out as rubble lifted up around them. Jack looked up and let out a sharp gasp.
