Chapter 17: The Next Level: Ryuu's Intense Training
Ryuu's training had never been easy, but he was determined to push himself to his limits and beyond. He had already achieved Super Saiyan God form, but he knew that wasn't enough. He had to go further, to reach a level of power beyond even his wildest dreams. Following the advice of Goku and Vegeta, Ryuu sought out Whis to help him surpass his current level. Under Whis's guidance, Ryuu embarked on a new training regimen designed to unlock the full potential of his power and achieve the Super Saiyan Blue form. Ryuu spars with Whis as the four Saiyans, Shin, and Beerus watched them train. It is then revealed that Whis has been secretly observing each of their training sessions for some time now.
"Damn it! Let me hit you, Whis!" Ryuu said irritatedly as he continues to try and hit Whis.
"Sincerest apologies, Ryuu, but my body had a mind of its own. It won't allow you to hit me no matter how many times you try!" Whis said confidently with a smile.
Whis continues to dodge Ryuu's attacks as Whis says; "You're doing very well to keep your heightened energy to leak out your body. But you still need to maximize it within your body."
His words only served to annoy Ryuu more. Whis noticed this and chuckled before continuing. "Your body will eventually adapt to my attacks and your stamina will increase. You'll be able to withstand more intense battle conditions in order to keep up with me."
He looked at the other Saiyans and continued. "As for me, I've been watching over all of you from the shadows. My job is to make sure none of you fall short of your goals. This includes helping everyone improve their fighting abilities. Now, let's move to the next phase of our training."
Whis and Ryuu both jumped back.
"It's hard to believe he progressed so far in so little time. Though, he is a Saiyan now so I shouldn't be surprised. I'm beginning to understand why my father wanted Ryuu to become a Saiyan and become stronger as one." Whis thought.
Whis summons his scepter into his hands and taps on the ground as it teleports both of them into a void-like dimension. Ryuu couldn't move an inch as Whis could move just fine.
"This Place is similar to Goku and Vegeta's Hyperbolic Time Chamber on Earth even though it differs in that it is a groundless void and contains an overwhelming atmosphere of Godly Ki." Whis says. "I advise you shouldn't let your Ki leak out of your body."
Ryuu listened to Whis as he closed his eyes and kept his Ki inside of his body as he felt the energy in his body.
"Ohh... I get it now. If I control my energy so that it doesn't leak after having it raised, I can move in here." Ryuu says in surprise while looking at his hands as he still felt the energy in his body. "Is this what they call God Ki? The pressure is immense."
"Indeed, and now, it's time for you to master it." Whis said with a smirk.
As they continue their training, Ryuu becomes more proficient in using his Godly Ki. He starts to incorporate this new skill into his fighting style, allowing him to move and attack with incredible speed and precision. Ryuu continues to train with Whis until Ryuu jumped back.
"I can't believe he blocked and dodged all of my attacks! I think it's about time I go Super Saiyan!" Ryuu thought as he starts to power up.
"Oh?~" Whis says, taking an interest in what Ryuu is trying to do.
instead of transforming into his Super Saiyan Form, Ryuu achieves his Super Saiyan Blue Form. Whis smiles and starts to clap his hands.
"Impressive! You're finally getting it. Take it slow at first and maintain your energy inside of your body. No matter how strong you get, you must always keep your Ki inside of you." Whis said with confidence.
Ryuu nods and Whis continues to guide Ryuu through his training. Whis watches Ryuu closely as Ryuu continues to practice his new skills.
"Now, we have to figure out how to use these new techniques you've learned. You see, when you learn a new technique, you must also adjust your fighting style to accommodate it." Whis says with a smile.
"That makes sense." Ryuu replies. "I want to make sure I don't waste any of my energy by using the wrong technique. That's why I need to start incorporating my new techniques into my fighting style."
Whis nods along with Ryuu as he continues to explain.
"If you focus on not wasting energy, you'll find it easier to use these new techniques. Now, let's begin training on how to use these new skills." Whis says.
Ryuu puts his hand on his chest and feels his heart beating as he takes in a deep breath. He then focuses his attention on Whis's scepter. He then concentrates his thoughts and begins to summon his energy again as he continues to try and block Whis's attacks.
"I'm going to show you the final step of the second stage of your training. We're going to put everything together and you'll be able to unleash your true power." Whis said.
"I'm ready for it so let's continue, Whis!" Ryuu said eagerly.
Whis and Ryuu continued to spar together as Ryuu was still in his Super Saiyan Blue Form. As they went through their training, Whis noticed Ryuu's increased endurance and stamina as he could withstand countless attacks without slowing down or getting tired. They continued to fight each other as Ryuu continues to absorb every attack Whis threw at him. Whis was impressed with Ryuu's ability to absorb and dodge his attacks. After a few more minutes of intense training, Whis started to feel a slight tingling sensation in his abdomen. Whis sensed that Ryuu was starting to gather his Ki around his body. He then realized that Ryuu had managed to master the art of keeping his energy inside his body. Whis then brought his hands together to form a ball of Ki as he spoke to Ryuu.
"Alright, Ryuu. Let's finish this." Whis said as he prepares himself to attack.
Ryuu then readies himself for Whis's attack. Both of them rush towards each other as they unleashed powerful blows at each other. Ryuu continued to deliver several consecutive hits against Whis. Whis tried to block Ryuu's onslaught but his attacks couldn't stop the relentless barrage of attacks that came at him. Ryuu then unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks aimed at Whis's head. Whis attempted to avoid Ryuu's strikes by jumping side-to-side, but it proved futile as Ryuu's fists and feet slammed into Whis's body. After a few more seconds of continuous strikes and dodging, Ryuu stopped attacking Whis and instead delivered a finishing blow. Whis smirks and swats Ryuu away. Ryuu stopped himself in midair and powers up before he then unleashes the Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken Form.
"He's improving dramatically! He has achieved a higher level of combat prowess than any of us. He truly is a force to be reckoned with." Whis thought as he looks at Ryuu.
Ryuu dashed towards Whis and they continued to spar. Whis continued to dodge Ryuu's attacks and retaliate with his own. Whis kept on dodging and blocking the attacks while Ryuu continuously pressed forward. Whis noticed that Ryuu was now able to utilize his new skills with ease as they continued to exchange blows. After a few more seconds, Ryuu unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks towards Whis. Ryuu continued to press forward as he unleashed another round of powerful punches and kicks. Whis continued to dodge Ryuu's attacks while countering with his own. Ryuu then upped his tempo and started striking faster and harder. Whis tried to dodge the barrage of attacks coming at him but Ryuu was relentless and attacked him relentlessly. Whis continues to dodge and block Ryuu's attacks as he become irritated. Whis continues to dodge and block Ryuu's attacks until Whis sent Ryuu flying with a palm strike to his chest. Ryuu stops himself in midair and takes a charging Ki stance as he starts to power up.
"Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken… Times Ten!!" Ryuu shouted as he increased his power to ten-folds.
Ryuu charged towards Whis who quickly ducks and dodges the attacks that came at him. Whis then unleashed a barrage of powerful punches and kicks aimed at Ryuu's torso. Ryuu tries to dodge the attacks but it proves futile as Ryuu took a huge amount of damage from the barrage. Ryuu then used his Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken form to launch himself in the air and land on top of Whis. Ryuu then unleashed a powerful punch aimed at Whis's body as he readies himself for his follow-up attack. Whis dodged it with ease and lands a neck chop on Ryuu. Whis back-flips away from Ryuu as he stopped himself in midair. Ryuu starts to breath heavily as he looks at Whis intensely.
"With every glance I see him, I can see he's not fighting based on thought and rather on only doing. It's impressive he's not even thinking when he's fighting.But with every glance, I can see a bright glimmer In his eyes." Whis thought. "I haven't even seen him use any of divine techniques he knows. It's like he's only trying to use his Saiyan instincts instead."
Ryuu dashed towards Whis and unleashes a barrage of punches and kicks aimed at Whis's body. Whis avoided Ryuu's attacks while countering with his own. Ryuu then unleashed an explosive kick aimed at Whis's midsection. Whis then caught Ryuu's leg and flipped him over his shoulder. Ryuu continued to flip through the air as he started to power up once more.
"I knew it!... He's using not just Saiyan instincts but his original power to increase his power exponentially! Not to mention it seems his body is more durable any other Saiyan, especially Goku, Goki, Vegeta, and Vegeena!" Whis thought. "But even with that, he's definitely improved since our last sparring session! He still seems to lack woefully in speed though.
"Haaa!! Super Saiyan Blue... Kaio-Ken... Times... Twenty!!" Ryuu shouted out as he increased his power to Twenty-Folds and continues to power up.
"With that Multiplier the North Kai taught him, he's trying to tap into all the energy he can find... This is hardly a threat towards an Angel like me." Whis thought with a serious and collected facial expression. "However... It's as if he's telling to keep pushing him to the brink of death... He wants me to push him hard enough to achieve the power his Zenkai Boost can give him... How Saiyan-Like...".
Ryuu dashed towards Whis and began to throw a barrage of punches and kicks at Whis who dodged and blocked all of them. Ryuu continued to throw a barrage of attacks at Whis as he continued to dodge and block all of them. Whis continued to dodge and block Ryuu's attacks as Ryuu continued to throw attacks at him. Ryuu threw a punch and Whis dodged it as he used an after-image. Whis attempted to strike Ryuu from behind as he quickly appeared in front of Ryuu.
Ryuu immediately threw at Whis as he shouted out; "There you are!!".
Whis immediately and easily caught Ryuu's punch. "Correct. You're getting better, Ryuu. Your moves are getting more sharper."
"I don't need you to tell me that! You know what I need you to do!!" He raised his voice at him.
"Indeed." Whis commented as he let go of Ryuu's fist.
Ryuu immediately began to feel pain from the aftermath of using the Kaio-Ken x20 while using Super Saiyan Blue. Whis used this to his advantage and shot Ryuu down with Three Large size of God Ki Blasts. Ryuu was shot down and reverts back to his base form as his eyes were completely blank. Ryuu immediately gains consciousness and pushes himself back up while breathing heavily. He glares at Whis as there is a bluish glimmer in Ryuu's eyes.
"There it is... That's the glimmer I saw in his eyes before. It's definitely a sign of using his natural ability with his Chosen One Powers..." Whis thought. "I hope three of my mid-power ki blasts were enough to continue pushing him past his limits... I believe in you, Ryuuji Hitoshi...".
Ryuu transforms into his Super Saiyan Blue Form and began to power up tremendously in front of Whis, releasing a pillar of Blue Power that leads up endless in the dimension.
Ryuu continues to power up tremendously as he said out loud; "I have to...".
Flashback
Conton City near the Time Nest
Ryuu has a flashback to where Chronoa is gently pushing Ryuu, who is holding a backpack full of clothes and items, out of the Time Nest as Ryuu is confused about what's happening.
"Come on, Babe! Why won't you let me stay here now??" Ryuu asked in confusion and curiosity.
"It's because I need to get back to my work and our time together has been distracting me from my work." She answered while still pushing him out. "I'm sorry Sweetie, but I need you to stay with Whis and Beerus for a few weeks until I'm done, ok?".
"Come on! Why do you have to go back to your work right now? Can't we just get some more time like this for a while longer?!" Ryuu complained in surprise.
"Ryuu, don't worry too much about it." Chronoa comforted her Fiancé. "I'm sure that Whis and Beerus will take good care of you. It'll only be for a week or two at most."
"Aww..." he said sadly.
Chronoa smiled sweetly at him. "Don't worry, we will meet again soon enough after I finish my work. Just go and train with Whis and Beerus. I'm sure you'll get a lot stronger with them anyways!".
"I-I guess you're right..." Ryuu said in disappointment of leaving his lover even though she has a lot of work to do.
He still had the doubts of whether or not he would see her again but was quickly silenced by Chronoa's hug. She then led him out of the nest and led him towards Whis and Beerus who were waiting for them.
Beerus notices them coming over and shouts out; "Come on, Ryuu! The faster we get back to my planet, the faster we can get back to fighting against one another!".
Ryuu stops and looks at his Fiancée. "Are you sure about this? You know I worry about you..."
"I know you do, sweetheart, but I have to get back to work. I can't let all those time scrolls to get back to being distorted. It's my job as the Supreme Kai of Time to get make sure History is safe." She said before kissing him on the cheek. "Now, go have fun with Whis and Beerus. I'll be waiting for you once you get back, ok?".
"Alright then... if you say so..." He said before putting on his backpack correctly.
Flashback Over-
Ryuu remembers the promise she made with him, the promise he tends to keep as he continues to power up tremendously as he said out loud; "I have to... I gave her my word and I have to keep it! I'll shatter through my limits no many how many times I must do it! I'll do it in my own way, on my own terms! Because That's the man I am! I'm better than this!! Hrah!!".
Ryuu broke past his Super Saiyan Blue Limits and Awakened his Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Form, surprising Whis who continues to watch him grow more powerful in front of him. Ryuu started to release a barrage of Ki Blasts that were stronger than anything Whis has seen before. He then releases a second wave of attacks that are even stronger than the first one. Whis was surprised by the power Ryuu was able to produce in such a short period of time. He never thought he could get this strong. But the truth is, Ryuu already knew it was possible for him to awaken his Super Saiyan Blue Evolution. It was only a matter of time before he finally did. Ryuu continues to increase the amount of Ki Blasts as Whis stands there in awe, impressed by the powerful aura Ryuu is producing. Ryuu's Ki Blasts created a smokescreen as Ryuu used it to his advantage to try and catch Whis off guard by dashing towards him. Whis dodged Ryuu's next attack but Ryuu appeared above Whis and knocked him down with a Double Axe Handle. Whis stops himself in midair as Ryuu chased after him. Whis went back to dodging and blocking Ryuu's attacks as Ryuu went back to throwing attacks at him.
Ryuu continued to throw a barrage of attacks while Whis continued to dodge them all, eventually getting close enough to strike his enemy with a combo of attacks. Ryuu then unleashed one last powerful punch with both hands but Whis was able to block it. Whis Axe-Kicks Ryuu up into the Air. Ryuu stops himself in midair and somehow created after-image clones. The clones all dashed towards Whis as he was able to slice through all of them with just simple karate chops. Ryuu dashed towards Whis and they began to exchange blows. They exchanged blows until Whis grabbed one of Ryuu's arms and threw him. Ryuu stopped himself in midair and powers up before he then unleashes the Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Kaio-Ken Form. Ryuu dashed towards Whis as they went back to exchanging blows. They exchanged blows as Ryuu began to slowly push Whis back as he notices Whis is letting him do so and is still holding back on him even though it's the code of an Angel to not engage in battle whatsoever. Ryuu and Whis continued to exchange blows as Whis is still smiling in confidence. They both suddenly jumped back as Ryuu began to breathe heavily while still in his Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Kaio-Ken Form. Ryuu began to power up as he tries to multiply the power of his Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Form with his Kaio-Ken technique.
Whis still smiles in confidence as he says; "You are by far the greatest student I have ever managed to teach! Come, Ryuu! Allow us, Master and Student, to push you to awaken the true power that lies within you!".
"Then Bring it on, Whis! I'm ready for you!!" Ryuu replied.
Beerus's Planet
As the intense battle between Ryuu and Whis continues in another dimension within Whis's staff, the group on Beerus's planet, begins to worry about Ryuu.
"I sure am getting worried about Ryuu…" Goki said.
"I am too but he'll be just fine, Kakaratta. He is going to be our Saiyan Husband after all." Vegeena said with a smile in confidence for Ryuu. "He's a Saiyan like us, and with the power he possesses, he'll grow a lot stronger than we could ever imagine!".
Beerus let out a hearty laugh, "Ha! Vegeena, you have no idea just how powerful Ryuu really is nor will become. He's already surpassed all of you, including Goku and Vegeta."
"Even if that's true, Lord Beerus, I still worry about Ryuu..." Goki said to him as she looks down in worry of Ryuu.
Beerus sighs and stands up. "Listen, Goki... Ryuu will be just fine. He's a lot stronger than he looks. Have a little more faith in him. I hate to admit it, but... He did beat me several times after all. The kid has a rare talent for becoming stronger."
Goku nods in agreement with Beerus. "Yeah, Ryuu is amazing. But it's true that we need to get stronger too."
Vegeta adds, "We can't let him leave us in the dust. We need to push ourselves to new limits."
Shin chimes in, "I couldn't agree more. As the Supreme Kai, it's my duty to make sure that we are all prepared for whatever may come our way."
Vegeena smiles, "I know we can do it! We'll train just as hard as Ryuu does and catch up to him in no time."
Goki looks up, feeling more confident. "You know what, you're right! I won't let Ryuu leave me behind."
The group then began to become pumped up and began training with one another as Shin sits down and sips on his tea.
Inside Whis's Staff
Back in the dimension Inside Whis's Staff, Ryuu is in his base form covered in bruises and is breathing heavily as he is still in fighting stance. Whis is the same as usual... no injuries, no torn clothes, no nothing... Just completely normal and fully health.
Ryuu's mind wandered back to the days when he trained under his master, Tenshi Sakamoto. He remembered the long hours of intense training and the pain that came with it.
Flashback
Back in Ryuu's Past, Ryuu is training with Tenshi as they are sparring with each other. After a little while, they take a break. Ryuu collapses on the ground as he breathed heavily. Tenshi walks up and stood beside Ryuu before he sat down next to him.
"You've improved a lot, Ryuu." Tenshi said with a smirk.
"Hehehehe... It's all thanks to you, Sensei!... I wouldn't have gotten this strong if it weren't for you!..." Ryuu said with a smile.
"You've improved a lot as an individual. If your goal is to truly become the strongest in the world and protect your loved ones, then let me ask you this..." Tenshi said. "What is strength to you?".
"What is strength?... Well, isn't that the power that ones possesses in order to beat another person?..." he said in confusion.
"So you believe it's just the power to beat someone? Who the heck taught you that? Was it Rin Tokei or Tsukiya Nakagawa?". Tenshi questioned before saying; "That is no way to measure things, Ryuu. We don't master Martial Arts to win fights. We do it to conquer ourselves. Until you learn not to get all caught up in your opponent's power, you'll always be as the same kid that I found all those months ago."
"I don't get it, Sensei... What are you trying to say?" Ryuu asked in confusion.
"If you want to become the strongest, then you need to train not just your body but also your spirit. If you use too much movement, you'll run out of breath too quickly." Tenshi said. "You need to be as calm and quiet as the sky and as fast as lightning. Don't allow your mind to control your movements, you must allow your subconscious to help you in times of crisis. If you want to be the best, You must allow your conscious and your subconscious to become one as well as to allow yourself to be free from all thought."
"I... uhhh... I still don't get it." Ryuu said.
Tenshi chuckled. "You'll figure out what I'm saying eventually. Until the time comes, continue to train diligently, ok?".
Flashback Over-
Ryuu smiles as he looks down, having his bangs cover his eyes. Whis dashed towards Ryuu and throws a side chop at him. Ryuu dodged it as he suddenly appeared behind Whis in a new form. His hair as slightly spikier and more solid, with silver highlights and oftentimes having loose strands. His eyes take on a more stern, defined shape, sporting silver-colored irises and visible pupils (similar to Super Saiyan 3 and Super Saiyan God). He also gains a complex silver, purple and blue aura consisting of rippling, fire-like energy, complete with sparkling particles traveling upwards much like Super Saiyan God before it.
Whis turns his head to see Ryuu and his eyes widens. Whis starts to smile as he realizes that Ryuu has achieved his Ultra Instinct -Sign- Form!
"Yes! You finally did it, Ryuu! You finally achieved it!" Whis said in delight. "You finally achieved Ultra Instinct - Sign-!!"
"I…I did?" Ryuu questioned before he then looked at himself.
"I can't believe you achieved Ultra Instinct before my very eyes! Ryuu, you are an amazing and interesting mortal!" Whis said with excitement.
"Well, I can't give myself all the credit. It was thanks to you pushing me to my limits and the wisdom of my old master that allowed me to achieve this." Ryuu said calmly. "Enough about that. Let's wrap this up, Whis."
"As you wish, Ryuu." Whis said as he took a stance.
Ryuu took a stance before He and Whis dashed towards each other and clashed fists, creating a massive energy shockwave that shook the entire dimension. They began to exchange blows all around the dimension as they began to shake the entire dimension with the impact of their blows.
"It's amazing how Ryuu achieved the Ultra Instinct Form! And it seems he's using his mindset similar to the Ultra Instinct Form to properly control and maintain it." Whis thought with a smile on his face as he continued to exchange blows against Ryuu. "You are indeed, the greatest student any master should be proud of! I'm quite jealous of your old master teaching you but it was all thanks to him that helped you achieve it. Isn't that right... Ryuu?".
Ryuu and Whis continued to exchange blows until with one last strike, they clashed and said past each other as they waited for one another to fall. Ryuu reverts back to his base form and falls unconscious. Whis quickly catches him as he has a smile on his face.Whis and Ryuu returns back on Beerus's Planet as everyone notices Ryuu unconscious again. They all rushed over to him in worry.
- One Hour Later -
Ryuu starts to gain consciousness and opened his eyes slowly. He notices how he is completely healed and sees Goki in front of him, realizing that Goki gave him her lap as a pillow. Ryuu blushes a bit.
"Hey. How are you feeling?" She asked him.
"I'm feeling better." He replied.
"Whis told us what happened." Vegeena said with a smile on her face.
Ryuu quickly gets up with a worried facial expression.
"You achieved not just the Super Saiyan Blue Form, but also you gained all of our transformations we suggested you should attain." She said. "You achieved it all with just one intense sparring session with Whis. And not only that, you achieved Ultra Instinct!".
Vegeena hugs him excitedly for his achievements as Ryuu chuckled a bit.
"Well, it wasn't easy... That's for sure." Ryuu said. "Now that I achieved every last transformation you guys suggested, what's our next plan?".
Vegeta smirks as he said; "We're sending you to Planet Yadrat!".
"Yadrat?!" Everyone questioned in surprise.
"Hold on, Vegeta! Why would you want to send Ryuu of all people, to go to Yadrat?!" Beerus questioned.
"Because Lord Beerus, I believe it's time for Ryuu to learn Spirit Control." Vegeta said.
"Spirit... Control?" Ryuu said in confusion.
"The denizens of that planet aren't suited for physical combat, but they employ a number of strange techniques. It's the same tribe that taught Kakarot and Kakaratta their Instant Transmission technique and Me and my Sisters Forced Spirit Fission technique." Vegeta continued. "I believe sending Ryuu to Yadrat will not just make him thousands of times stronger, but will also allow Ryuu to various of techniques that will be useful to him more ways than one."
"I see... That would be the best option if it were to help make him stronger..." Shin said.
"Then it's settled. We'll be going to Planet Yadrat." Ryuu said before he turned to Whis. "Do you mind taking us there, Whis?".
"I'll be more than happy to take you guys to Planet Yadrat." Whis replied.
Ryuu, Goku, Goki, Vegeta, and Vegeena puts their right hand on Whis to hold on onto him.
Vegeta looks at Beerus. "We'll be back before you know it, Lord Beerus."
"Is everyone ready?" Whis asked everyone.
everyone nodded their heads.
"Very well then. Let's be on our way." Whis said before they all took off into space.
