Bell POV

"You sure you're not coming," I asked Regis as I got dressed.

"And have to deal with Demeter, while she may have some of the biggest tits I have ever seen, I'll pass"

I rolled my eyes as I knew he actually cared for her.

"Alright but we both know she'll come looking for you" I put my shirt on covering the necklace Miach made.

"And I'll be sure to run very fast, as long as some asshole doesn't hold me down this time" he muttered as he crawled back into his dog bed.

I walked downstairs dressed in my black short sleeve shirt and long brown pants. I had my knife strapped to my waistband and my hidden blade attached to my left wrist. I also wore my dimension ring which had Dawn's ballad and basilisk tear if needed. Attached to my boots were also the throwing knives Mikoto got me for my birthday.

I grabbed a quick bite to eat before walking out the door alone. Of course, during breakfast, I was teased relentlessly by Aisha and Welf about asking Airmid out on a date.

I walked out the northern gate of Orario and took the path to the wheat manor. Why she named it that I have no idea. The manor was made of bricks that went up at least three stories. The railing on the stairs leading up to the door was a type of wood painted white with brick stairs. Surrounding the manor was beautiful green grass that stretched for miles. It was honestly a little breathtaking.

I walked up the stairs and knocked on the door. I waited for only a moment before a woman with long red hair which she had in a ponytail and green eyes opened the door. She was about medium height not much shorter than me. Her face was beautiful as her skin was a little tanned from working out in the field. She also had freckles along her face that in my opinion made her look cuter. She wore a white t-shirt with overalls over top of it which hid her curves which I knew she was hiding. I can thank Gramps for that tidbit of information.

"Well you just gonna stand there and gawk or are you gonna introduce yourself" she spoke with a country accent.

"Oh sorry where are my manners, names Bell I'm here to see Demeter" I stuck out my hand for her to shake. She quirked an eyebrow at me.

"What's a record holder like you here to see goddess for"'

"Would you believe me if I said she was somewhat of an aunt to me" I nervously chuckled.

She narrowed her eyes at me as she leaned forward a bit allowing me to see down her overalls a bit.

"You a farmer ain't ya"

"Yeah, used to have a farm with my grandpa up in the mountains, it's probably long dead by now as I haven't been up there in about three and a half months"

"Well come on in, I'll go get the goddess, hopefully, she didn't drink herself silly last night"

The wheat manors interior was a basic but unique design. The floor was made of a dark wood with sporadic carpet coverage all over the place. The walls were a light green wallpaper with a multitude of paintings of either fruits or familia members on the wall. By the entrance, two winding staircases led to the second floor. There was also a chandelier right above me made of whatever chandeliers are made out of.

There was a small round table in front of the entrance as well which had some flowers and a picture of Demeter and the tanned woman.

She then stopped and faced me sticking out her hand.

"Names Persephone, nice to meet ya, kid"

I took her hand and shook it, I could feel the strength behind her grip, this woman had to at least be a level five.

"Mighty strong grip you got there" she squeezed my hand tighter. I used mana to reinforce my hand and squeezed harder as well.

"Likewise"

We stayed like that for a minute neither of us backing down. Until a hand came along and smacked Persephone on the back of the head causing her grip to loosen.

"Ow, the hell was that for Lunoire" she complained rubbing the back of her head. I knew it didn't hurt and she was just patronizing her.

"Cause you were about to break his hand" she chided. I nervously laughed as I looked away. Wouldn't be the first time my hand was broken.

Lunoire has brown eyes and medium-length brown hair. She was about as tall as me and was wearing a white tank top and green pants. She was a little paler than Persephone probably because she worked at the hostess more than she did at the fields. When I took a good look at her I had to admit she was pretty cute.

"Anyway what's the record holder doing here" Lunoire crossed her arms.

"I have a name you know, besides I'm here to see Demeter" I rubbed the back of my head.

"Uh huh, anyway goddess is out back in the fields" Lunoire pointed to the entrance of the living room which I assumed had a back door.

I started walking with Lunoire following me. Persephone said she had to go and wake up the rest of the familia and went upstairs.

I didn't really take a look at the living room and instead walked right through the back door. When I stepped outside the sun momentarily blinded me for a second before my eyes adjusted. When they did I saw a vast expanse of food. Spanning from tomatoes to oranges. There was so much food that I couldn't even comprehend the sheer size of the farm.

"That's a lotta food" I let out a whistle.

"Well yeah, we're one of the big three familia's that provide for the city" Lunoire stated crossing her arms.

"You know for someone who's normally shy, you're quite cold," I remarked.

"Who told you that" she jumped.

"Anya"

"Conniving cat" she grumbled.

"I do something to offend you without knowing?" I quirked an eyebrow.

She looked at me, her eyes narrowed a bit before she sighed.

"Ryu's been a lot grumpier since you broke off ties with her" Lunoire crossed her arms.

"That's what this is about, last I check it was them who wanted to cut ties with me, besides it's better this way, how do you expect people to get along if they don't trust each other"

"You have a point, but I haven't seen her like this since" she stopped before she said more.

"What, did Ryu do something she regrets, so what, everyone does something they regret it's a part of life" I shrugged my shoulders.

She let out a deep breath through her nose.

"Whatever, let's just drop it, sorry for getting on your case, I just care for Ryu a lot" She crossed her arms and looked away from me.

Is this what Grandpa called a tsundere? We stood there in silence for a few minutes. I looked at the vast expanse of food being grown for miles. It truly was breathtaking. It was then I spotted Demeter picking oranges.

I didn't say anything. Instead, I walked down the stairs and walked to her. She had her back to me so she didn't know I was coming. Once I was behind her I tapped her on the shoulder.

"Yes, Oh Bell you're here!" she cheered as she grabbed me tightly and hugged me. Her chest was pressed into mine thankfully. I hugged her back as best I could before she pulled away.

"How are you, are you healthy, are you sleeping well, are you eating enough" Her rapid-fire questions were beginning.

"Good, yes, somewhat, and yes" I answered quickly.

"Why aren't you sleeping well" She crossed her arms and looked at me.

"Uhh, lot of extracurricular activities," I told a half-truth. She didn't need to know about the nightmares. She narrowed her eyes at me before they widened in realization.

"Why did it have to be another girl when you had me" she wailed.

"That's not even funny!" I yelled back.

She giggled mischievously before speaking again.

"So which girl was it, you have a lot in your familia" she inquired.

"I'm not telling you" I muttered.

"It was the elf wasn't it" She had a smug grin on her face.

"No, it wasn't, what made you even think it was Laurier"

"Maybe she wanted to repay her hero for saving her" Demeter teased.

"You're not funny"

"Oh, come on Bell tell me" she whined.

"Why are you so interested in who I had sex with"

"Cause I want to make sure she's a good girl for you, it's my duty as an aunt" She pointed her thumb to her chest in pride.

"You can believe me when I say she is" I assured.

"Hmm ok, but I will find out who it is, now we've chatted enough it's time for field work"

She went back to picking oranges with me helping her this time. A few hours passed and it was already noon. The sun was high in the sky and beating down on us. But thankfully it wasn't too hot today.

"When was the last time we farmed together," I asked picking an orange before setting it in the basket.

"You had to have been about 11 or 12 I think" she responded.

"Is this when Regis and I almost set the crops on fire?"

"Yes I believe it was that time, what was the excuse again?" She chuckled.

"I called him a dog too many times and he shot fire at me"

"Oh, so you're still using that excuse," She asked with a chuckle.

"I'm not telling you the real reason"

She smiled.

"I'll get it out of you one of these days"

We stood there for a few minutes enjoying the silence as a gentle breeze blew through.

"Bell" she called out to me. I turned my head to face her.

"Yeah"

"Do you, think I could've been a better aunt"

I was a little caught off guard. Why would she ask this?

"What do you mean," I asked.

"It's just, I feel like I haven't done enough or been good enough, I feel like I just bother you"

Her arms dropped to her side as she stopped picking the oranges.

"I feel like, maybe if I had been around more, I could've made your childhood easy"

Her face and body language was sad yet she wasn't crying. I stopped picking the oranges and gave her a hug.

"You did fine, you had obligations to your familia"

I held her tighter.

"I'm ok, you don't have to worry about me, and you're not annoying, a little eccentric yes, but I never found you annoying, neither did Regis"

I felt her arms wrap around me.

"Oh dear child, I will always worry about you"

She put her hand on the back of my head pulling me closer.

Demeter and I sat down on a blanket on a hill overlooking the farm. It was a nice view to have while eating lunch.

"Never expected a farm to be this huge" I spoke in awe. Even though I had already seen it. It still managed to leave me in awe each time I looked at it.

"Well, it was a lot of hard work getting it up and running, but it was worth it in the end, to be able to provide food for a whole city is nice, really feels like I'm doing some good"

"Must be nice, knowing you're helping people"

"It is, but I also do love farming, there's just a certain calming feeling about it"

The wind blew again causing a nice breeze to be felt. The sounds of footsteps were heard as Persephone and a high elf were approaching.

"You normally get any high elf visitors," I asked looking at her.

"Not usually"

She stood up and brushed down her pink dress to make herself look presentable. When the two reached us the high elf gave us a bow which caught us off guard. He then raised himself back up and looked at me.

"Are you Bell Leywin?" he asked.

"Yeah that's me, why?"

"I have a Letter from King Larfal for you"

He handed me an envelope with a royal seal on it.

"What's it for" I examined the letter.

"Can't say, my king just ask that I deliver I to you, I bid you farewell"

He gave another bow before leaving. Both Persephone and Demeter look at me in confusion.

"Was a high elf just nice to a human?" Persephone's eyes were wide in shock.

"Open it Bell, let's see what it says" Demeter's curiosity was peaked.

I said nothing and opened the letter. As I started reading it my eyes went wide in shock.

Dear, Bell Leywin

It has come to my attention that you are the true king of the elves, as much as I despise a human being king of us mighty elves I will not deny your claim to the throne. However, I do believe we can come to a compromise, as much as it pains me to write this I offer my daughter Riveria Ljos Alf's hand in marriage to secure the high elf bloodline. You do not have to answer right away as I understand you are still technically a boy. It is also out of respect for your name as well. However, I do expect an answer and not to be left on read. I hope your days are long and your life is prosperous.

Sincerely

King Larfal

"I just got offered Riveria's hand in marriage"

I handed the letter to Demeter for her to read and she gasped.

"What! A human marrying Riveria, never thought I'd hear that" Persephone yelled confused.

"It's because my great-grandmother was the queen of the elves, which means I technically have a claim to the throne" I explained.

"Do you know if she's still alive?" Demeter asked as she handed the letter back to me.

"I actually have no idea, I've just assumed she was dead, but knowing elves and the fact her mana core was high silver she could very much be alive" I explained.

"Does a mana core help extend someone's life?" Persephone asked.

"It's like the falna, it can help extend someone's life. Since I have both I can technically live for about 300 years right now if I wanted to"

"Wait if you can live that long where's your biological grandpa or Arthur for that matter" Demeter looked at me confused.

"I actually have no idea, Grandpa said they were both dead, but he never explained how they died, I know my father died to the one-eyed black dragon, but I don't know how those two died"

Now I was confused. If I could already live for 300 years and both Arthur and my biological grandpa had asuran bodies, how come they were dead?

"Well that's beside the point, Bell this isn't something you can just ignore, King Larfal will expect a response from you" Demeter pointed out.

"I know, damnit why does this shit gotta happen to me" I groaned.

I put the letter in my pocket before deciding to head home. I bid my goodbye to Demeter and Persephone saw me out as Demeter went back to the fields.

As I was walking home I decided to take the long way home as I needed some time to think. But little did I know that as I was thinking. The dungeon gave birth to a girl, and that event would give me a nasty surprise.

Well, we're finally at the Xenos arc. Anyway, new mysteries were brought up and Bell has a choice to make. Which I have a feeling we already know the answer to. Also, Demeter felt like she was a bad aunt, and more of Bell's 'childhood' was revealed.

Anyway hoped you enjoyed because I think this is like the third chapter I've put out this week.

Also, Persephone is the captain of the Demeter familia and that's all that's known about her. We don't know what she looks like or what level she is. So I just made something up
