I'm going back to writing in third person
Bell was currently lying in his hospital bed. Airmids orders were not to do anything too strenuous, so he was on bed rest. Yay. His right arm is wrapped in a cast to keep him from moving it. Regis said it would take a while for him to repair the nerve damage as Bell didn't have an Asuran body to make the process quicker.
So right now, he's bored out of my mind since he's stuck here. He wished he could go home.
What makes it worst is Regis won't stop with these shitty jokes.
"Hey, Bell knock knock" Oh great, here he goes with another one.
Bell rolled his eyes and answered. "Who there, Regis."
"Interrupting cow"
"I'm not falling fo-
"Moo," Regis said, interrupting Bell.
Bell promptly kicked him off the bed in annoyance.
Lucky for him, he was able to have a break from his nonsense as Aisha showed up.
"Thank god you're here. Regis has been annoying the shit out of me" Bell let out a sigh of relief.
She took a seat next to Bell on the bed and wrapped her arms around him to cuddle. Making sure she lay on his left side so he could hold her. "Oh, he can't be too bad. You've lived with him your whole life.
Regis jumped back on the bed as Bell gestured at him. "He's still annoying."
Regis scoffed. "Oh well, I apologize for trying to keep you entertained. My jokes must go over your head."
Bell rolled his eyes as he let out a sigh of annoyance. "Shut up, dog."
Regis just stared at Bell. "I'm gonna let that slide since you're injured."
Bell rolled his eyes as a small chuckle left his lips. "Whatever you say."
The three sat there in silence, Regis looking at the happy couple, proud Bell was able to find someone to help bring down his walls. If only a little.

A few more days came and went before Airmid finally discharged Bell. He was happy to finally be out of the hospital. But as payback for him breaking out the first time, Airmid made him be discharged in a wheelchair even though he could walk perfectly fine.
"You think you're funny, don't ya" Bell muttered as he crossed his arm.
Airmid, with her face somewhat blank, answered. "No, I do not, Mr Leywin. However, this is payback for last time."
What Bell couldn't see was the small unnoticeable smile on her face.
"You're just making me want to break out more," he mumbled.
Airmids smile grew bigger. "But if you do that, you're familia will just drag you back here. Your fight against Uto wasn't as bad as this one. Who knows I might find more injuries and need you to stay longer"
Bell grumbled as he looked away from her. Airmid had to suppress her giggle at his childish behavior.
Bell blinked a few times as he remembered something. "Oh shit, I never picked you up for dinner."
Airmid blushed a little before clearing her throat. "You haven't, but I understand you've been busy. I have been busy at the hospital as well, but I should be free this weekend. If you still wanna meet up, that is"
Bell nodded his head. "Yeah, that works fine for me. Considering Regis needs to repair the nerve damage in my arm, I'm out of the dungeon for a while. So I'll have a lot of free time."
A question then popped into Airmids head. "Don't you have a girlfriend, Mr Leywin? I know she's an Amazon, but how does she feel knowing you're going on a date with another woman."
Bell let out a slight chuckle. "Aisha doesn't care. Hell, she's the one pushing me to take you on one."
Regis then chimed in. "Yeah, you also can't forget what the old man said about a man's romance."
Bell's head shot toward Regis, giving him a glare. "Don't you dare say it out loud"
Regis turned his head to the side as he strutted forward. He started doing an impression of Zeus. "Remember Bell a-
Before Regis could finish his sentence, Bell used his lightning magic to zap him. Regis yelped before looking at Bell, his fur sticking up a little.
"You didn't have to shock me dickhead!" He said.
"Did to, you wouldn't have shut up otherwise," Bell responded.
"While your assessment is true, now I gotta get my fur back down. You know how hard it is to do that," Regis pouted.
Bell scoffed. "What are you, a child? You're made out of the building blocks of reality. You can fix it easily."
Regis's fur was then fixed in the blink of an eye. "You're right. I just wanted to annoy you."
Bell's eye was twitching. "I'll zap you again, dog."
"Hey fuck you. I'm not a dog," Regis growled.
The two stopped their bickering as they heard Airmid giggling. They turned to face her both with puzzled looks on their face.
When she realized the two were staring at her, she turned her head and cleared her throat. "I do ask that you keep quiet. I have other patients that require silence for rest."
The two cringed upon hearing this. They knew better. "Sorry, Airmid," the two apologized.
Once the two reached the exit, Airmid finally let Bell stand up from the wheelchair. He felt good stretching his legs and the ability to walk on his own.
He turned around and faced Airmid, a small smile on his face. "Thank you for all your help. I guess I owe you two dinners now. Since you saved my life and all."
Airmid shook her head. "That's not needed, Mr Leywin. Just doing my job, that's all."
Regis snorted. "She sounds like you."
Bell didn't say anything but kicked Regis.
He then turned his attention back to Airmid. "So I'll see you Saturday."
Airmid nodded her head. "If circumstances are willing, yes."
"Where should we meet, here or by Babel" Bell asked.
Airmid pondered the question for a second. "The Fountain by Babel"
Bell nodded his head. "Alright, see you Saturday at six."
He then waved goodbye to her as he and Regis headed home. Once he was gone, Airmid put her hands to her face hiding her blush. This would be her first date in years.

Bell and Regis were walking home. Neither knowing what Bell's words to Airmid had caused.
"So what happened while I was asleep," Bell asked.
Regis thought for a moment before answering. "Well, let's see. The Astraea and Loki familia went on a joint expedition. Artemis and her familia had a job request somewhere outside of Orario. They left just before you woke up. Oh, also Rehtusa leveled up to level four as well. Our familia went on a small expedition to gather materials and supplies. Welf finally got his hands on some adamantine."
Bell chuckled. "Damn, how far did they go down."
Regis thought for a moment. "I think floor 28. Zald was with them, so they wanted to push themselves without you there."
Bell felt a little guilty hearing that. "Do I make them feel inadequate"
Regis quickly shook his head. "Heavens no. Bell, everyone there loves and cares for you. However, you did give them a scare when Alfia nearly killed you. You have to remember you advance faster than anyone has before, even your father. They just don't want to be left behind, that's all."
Bell smiled, feeling reassured. But a thought did come to his mind. "Regis. You were close with my dad. I already asked Zald this, but what was he like."
Regis remembered the fun times he had with Silver before answering Bell. "A good man. He was a prodigy when it came to magic and wit. His skills with a sword were lackluster at first, but by god, could he outsmart someone."
Regis then chuckled a little. "He actually outsmarted Alfia a couple of times."
Bell's head shot over to Regis, his eyes wide. "No way. You mean my dad outsmarted Alfia. You gotta be lying."
Regis laughed as he shook his head. "Nope. Although it only happened about four times, he still did it. Never let her live it down either."
Regis then let out a sad sigh as a smile full of sadness appeared on his face. "I miss your father. He had asked me to stay with your mother when he went to fight that dragon. My biggest regret was not going with him to help. Maybe if I did, he would still be alive."
Bell knelt down and patted Regis's fur. He knew Regis didn't like it that much, but his friend needed some comfort.
"I know, buddy. But hey, if you went with, maybe you would've died as well," Bell said.
Regis nodded his head. "Yeah, maybe. But hey, look on the bright side. I've got you now. Even though you're an annoying little shit."
Bell laughed as he stood up. "Yeah, but you're my best friend, so you're stuck with me."
The two continued their walk until Bell stopped again. Regis walked a few steps ahead of him before stopping and turning around.
"What's wrong, kid," Regis asked.
Bell was quiet for a minute as he swallowed a lump in his throat. "Regis. When the time comes for us to fight that dragon, I don't want anyone to come with us."
Regis quirked an eyebrow in confusion. "Why's that kid."
Bell looked up to the sky, the noon sun shining brightly. "Because I want everyone to live long, happy lives. So when the time comes, I just want it to be me and you who goes."
Regis looked at Bell in silence, his eyes wide. A memory of Silver flashed through his mind right before he left for the dragon.
"Don't worry, Regis. Once we come back, everyone will be able to live long, happy lives. You'll even get to be an uncle."
The image of the smiling blacked hair man faded as Bell took his place.
Regis let out a smile. "Alright, kid. It'll be just you and me. A boy and his dog, that would make a good story."
Bell laughed a little as he started walking again. "Our story would fly off the shelves."
"Yeah, and the readers would just be baffled at how your dumbass always gets into trouble," Regis joked.
Bell laughed again as he picked up his pace a little. He was excited to get home and see everyone.

Bell opened the door to the Blue Manor. He shut it and started speed walking, nearly breaking out into a sprint. He could sense his familia in the dining room. Although he did find it odd, they were all together, and no one came to pick him up at the hospital.
However, he didn't care. They were probably tired from their mini-expedition. He burst into the dining room, seeing the lights off. He knew everyone was in here, so why were the lights off?
Regis sneakily snuck over to the light switch, and, using a tiny amount of Aether, he turned the lights on.
"SURPRISE!!!!!" everyone yelled.
Bell's eyes widened in shock as he saw his entire familia in front of him. The dining room was covered in decorations with a big flyer in the middle that said welcome back. A giant cake with white frosting stood in the center of the table. Another smaller table was off to the side with meat, chips, vegetables, and drinks.
Bell smiled as he knew why no one had come to get him at the hospital. They were too busy planning a surprise party.
He felt himself tear up a little at the gesture. "You guys. You didn't have to do this."
Miach walked up to Bell and wrapped him in a hug. "Of course we did. My child faced his demons and made it back alive. That's enough cause for celebration."
Bell laughed a little as he returned the hug. "That sounds so corny…but thanks."
When Miach broke off the hug Bell to his seat with Haruhime and Aisha sitting beside him, Bell's smile widened as the party began.
Sorry, this took a while. Been busy with work and focusing on another story which you should go check out.
But I also just didn't feel like writing either, so that's another reason. But now that I've started writing this again, you can expect more frequent updates, I hope. It depends on how much work kicks my ass. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this calm little chapter, as the next couple are gonna be a little calmer than Alfia ripping Bell's arm off.
Also, the writing style has changed from first to third person. If you don't like that, you can leave. I won't hold it against you.
Anyway, peace.
