I don't own Naruto or any of its characters, I'm just a fan I enjoyed the anime but I love the fanfics even more, they made me fall for the whole franchise.
Chapter 55
When Lee moved Neji moved as well, and both of their speeds greatly increased with the Hyūga attacking and Lee defending. The taijutsu specialist dodged left, right, ducked, twisted weaved, and parried until Neji was at the 32-palm count unable to land any.
Lee jumped up and kicked Neji right on his temple before the Byakugan wielder's last attack could be called complete. Neji quickly twisted in mid-air and landed on his feet feeling disoriented and he shook his head a few times to get the cobwebs out of it.
"Dynamic Entry!" Neji registered a kick to his midsection that had him doubling over before getting blasted off to the other side of the arena, knocking into the far-off wall and finding himself stuck to it in a human-shaped crater of himself.
Lee was still in his line of sight but It seemed like he was teleporting to him from where he began, he was just that fast. Neji pushed himself off the wall and landed on his feet breathing in deeply and raggedly, that kick got him good.
Lee gave Neji time to catch his breath which was a mistake in Neji's books because he already came up with a strategy to use all of Lee's speed against him by knowing how to counter each of his taijutsu combinations which he has seen before. Neji took back his juuken stance and waited patiently for the speed freak who took a sprinter starting position before he disappeared from view and found himself in front of Neji.
Neji found himself not reacting fast enough and received a kick to his chin that sent him flying upwards. Lee who had both hands on the ground and his left leg outstretched repositioned himself and jumped after his opponent. Neji felt a presence behind him but before he could react Lee had his bandages wrapped tightly around his form like one of the pictures of the Second Tsuchikage Mū.
"Primary Lotus!" Lee bellowed and began spinning on his axis with Neji. both teammates heading for the very hard pavement floor below head first. Neji gritted his teeth and prepared for his counter, and when Lee decided to bail, to leave him to take all that built-up force and momentum. Neji called out his move.
"Eight Trigrams: Revolving palm!" Chakra was excreted from every tenkentsu in Neji's body and with the spinning motion he was already in, it expanded too fast for Lee to react to in time. The beautiful green beast of Konoha did not expect to find himself getting caught in the defensive jutsu that tore his spandex and blasted him away like a bullet.
"SECOND GATE OF HEALING." Lee bellowed his aura getting violent and his skin tone gaining a pink tint to it. Lee kicked his left leg out building up so much momentum with the flick of the leg that he broke the sound barrier and got thrown back at his opponent, face looking like a beast war.

"Sasuke-Kun, a moment." Itachi called out to his little brother who had his eyes glued to his teammate's backs. Itachi now understood that his little brother embodied the Uchiha of old, Sasuke needed to be spoken to and Itachi should have done so a long time ago.
"I am watching the match." Sasuke said in a grumble and moved away from his team to go lean on the railing away from the rest of his colleagues and sensei. Itachi sighed, Sasuke was not thinking logically when he killed the Inuzuka's dog. In the best case scenario he just got himself a rival, worse case he made an enemy that will one day try to get revenge.
'Hate among colleagues is the nastiest there is, strangers, can show more mercy than a friend turned enemy.' Itachi looked back to the match, he and Sasuke were going to talk. Itachi began realizing he might have spoiled Sasuke a bit too much the first heir of the Uchiha clan could not remember if he ever punished Sasuke with a beating before.
'I am too soft.' Itachi knew his weaknesses, he was unlike any other Uchiha before him. If he was not such an efficient Ninja he would have been a pariah in the leaf village, like the man who gave Kakashi his left eye.
Itachi Uchiha though was efficiently deadly and in people's humble opinions the best the leaf had to offer, like a medium rare steak five-star meal. Rough around the edges but soft inside, a delicious combination of a loving but toxic individual when fucked with.

Lee winced as he came soaring back at Neji who was already ducking as though he anticipated the move, the guy was a born fighter, a true case of a prodigious Hyūga. Neji stuck a hand out and tried to grab onto Lee but the momentum he built was too fast and instead Neji's hand slid off Lee's leg until he tried to get a grip on his sandals but instead removed the accessory.
Lee tucked into a ball spinning and when he reached the wall he had his other sandal in his right hand now bare feet. Lee threw the sandal up doing a bicycle kick to send it flying at Neji with so much force and speed it was on the Hyūga's face before he knew it. Lee landed on the wall diagonally a second later and decided to push further.
"THIRD GATE OF LIFE!" The wall cratered and Lee was gone. Neji red in the face with a print of Lee's sandal on his visage still saw Lee opening his third gate even though his scream came after Lee reached him.
"Leaf Gale." Lee outstretched his right leg and let it drop. Ready to bring it down on Neji's crown but Neji ducked and spun creating a small Katon that Lee's leg connected with blasting him up in pain. Lee screamed feeling the bones in his right leg fracture In multiple places.
The eyebrow boy gritted his teeth and placed his undamaged leg on the ceiling before cratering it as well in the process blowing the ceiling outward to let the rain outside come in. Neji's Byakugan let him see all this even in his Katon so he continued spinning pushing his low chakra reserves to work over time.
Lee grimaced when he saw Neji unwilling to part with his defense which was a sound strategy because if Lee connected with that defense he could kiss his ninja career goodbye because the momentum he built would be multiplied by 10 back at him which would turn his legs to paste.
"FOURTH GATE OF PAIN…..Aghhhh!" Lee kicked at the air once more and in the distance the adjacent wall cratered, Lee reached the wall in a split second with the gust of wind born at his wake almost lifting Neji off his feet. Lee stopped in front of Neji's Katon.
"I WILL NOT LOSE!" Lee screamed with youth and dug his hands under the pavement with brute strength and piercing power alone before he heaved with his all. A big chunk of the floor more than 30 feet in length and diameter got raised and flicked over.
Neji's eyes widened and he stopped spinning now running upside down to the edge of the giant slab of cement. Reaching that edge he jumped for his health, stomach first hands behind his head to protect himself from the debris falling.
The Hyūga prodigy was wide-eyed in his position on the floor so he caught sight of Lee above coming down towards him. Lee gritted his teeth, his leg outstretched and his face looking reddish coming down like a bullet to drop-kick his teammate willing to hold nothing back.
"Leaf Gale!" Lee's voice came after the big boom that rocked and shook the arena. Neji's body came flying out on the other side of the dust cloud that got built up looking like he got hit but a second later he twisted in mid-air and showed that he escaped the impact zone by rolling to the side but got blown away by the force that came after. Neji landed on his feet and skidded to a stop.
Byakugan still active but sweating and heaving. Neji took a deep breath, clothes a mess and bloody, all those meetings with the pavement not good for his attire and skin. The hyūga of team 9 watched Lee stand up inside the cloud of smoke he had picked up in his drop-kick. Lee swayed on his feet looking bloody as well as exhausted from his low reserves.
When Lee swayed backward Neji sighed thinking the boy was about to fall unconscious but a fire burned in Lee at that last moment and he screamed before he ran disappearing from from his previous spot.
"THE FIFTH GATE OF LIMITES!" Neji played his final gamble and moved in before Lee could reach him, finding himself in the boy's guard.
"Palm Bottom!" Neji's hand made contact with Lee's chest but he didn't get a chance to send his chakra forward because Lee's momentum broke that arm on contact leaving Neji spinning like a top gritting his teeth to not scream in pain.
Lee met the adjacent wall face first cratering it in the form of his body shape, hands, and legs opened wide like a star. Neji lost momentum in his spin and immediately dizziness hit him like a tank and he fell forward breathing hard like he was hyperventilating with Lee dropping from his crater and landing on his back a second later the arena heard hard snoring.
Lee found himself in a deep sleep because of his exhaustion but he had the biggest smile on his face. He enjoyed himself in the fight, he gave his all and he went until his body couldn't give anymore.
Lee so deep in sleep dreamt that he forced his body to go further, he told his body it had one more dose of youth in it and that victory was just one step away his conviction burning in his physical body like a bonfire.
"Can the both of you continue?" Hayate landed on the arena floor and approached the two unmoving boys. Neji tried moving his body still conscious but it did not respond to him, the only part of his body he found feeling anything was his broken arm.
"The contestants cannot continue, the match will end in a…………" Hayate stopped speaking when their local Jinchuriki began laughing like a maniac and Hayate could not lie he found this event worth the madness in the Uzumaki's laugh because this was crazy.
"YOSH!" Lee jumped onto his feet eyes shut tight with drool coming out of his open mouth as he snored. "Zzzzzzzzz!!!!" Neji watched wide-eyed finding himself conscious and unmoving with Lee asleep and standing. Neji gritted his teeth and pushed to stand up but a second later he screamed, his broken hand causing him tremendous pain.
"Ahhh….. Aghhh…AGHHHHH!!!" Neji got frustrated in a way that was exaggerated, he began pulling himself up with his chin trying to fold his body so he can easily stand. His actions quickly began to tare the skin under his chin causing blood to leak out of the self-imposed wounds.
Hayate was confused about the decision to make, one contestant was conscious but unable to stand and the other was unconscious but standing.
The Special Jōnin looked to his Hokage who looked proud of the level of skills the genin showed. Hayate would like to say he was impressed as well, In a few years they would give them all a run for their money if they didn't step up soon. The Hokage nodded toward his victor and Hayate couldn't agree more. The genin just left an impact on them all by this final stunt.
"Winner of the match, Rock Lee of the Lee clan!" Hayate bellowed and a second later guy arrived at the arena grabbing onto Lee who jumped up in his sleep screaming 'YOSH' with a big smile before going limp and dropping on his sensei's arms who was proud of his student.
'So fate has truly forsaken me?' Neji chuckled at that thought but held it in quickly. He was now free of fate, he could fly and leave everything that represented his time under the banner of fate. Neji decided to start a new world, where he called all the shots.
'A world where I decide fate.' Neji thought not caring about getting lifted and placed into a stretcher. Not caring about being dragged into intensive care and not caring that he lost this match that was all in the past now. Neji Hyūga's future would be better.

Hinata could not even feel sorry for Neji because of the blonde jumping around like a fool at the fight that had him on his toes the entire time. At some point, he began asking her where Lee was so he could follow him easier. Then he would explain how Lee cratered the walls before he had to ask where he was again.
"Lee is so cool Hime, did you see what he did Hahahah mwah!" Hinata blushed when Naruto in his excitement turned around and kissed Hinata on the cheek. Itachi simply smiled at the boy's behavior he was so open with his feelings he seemed almost the opposite of what a ninja should be.
They all watched Guy walk away with Lee, and Gekkō stood back in the arena that now looked like a war zone with even more blood splattered around.
"The Next match to follow is of Kabuto Yakusho and Gara of the Sand." Gekkō stopped and looked to the adult genin who apologized politely saying he was tired and out of chakra. Gara smacked everybody with his killing intent at being denied blood but Kabuto simply acted shaken and speed walked out of the arena readjusting his spectacles.
There was no way he was going to fight an unstable JInchuriki. Kabuto smirked, he would enjoy uncovering the secrets of one Naruto Uzumaki much more.
"Well then…..the next fight will be between Sakura Haruno of Konohagaru Vs Shikamaru Nara of the Nara Clan!" Gekkō Hayate announced with a clear voice. Shikamaru groaned at the thought of having to fight a complicated girl like Sakura. Sakura felt relief if it was the lazy Nara she was about to fight he might just pull a Kabuto and forfeit.
"Troublesome." Shikamaru said placing his hands in his pocket and walking towards the arena taking the long way. Sakura followed behind him with fists balled, she had everybody's attention here and she would show them the new her.
Authors Notes:
Short chapter but we are getting to the final stages of these exams and that means some chapters will be shorter then others if I have any a fight taking more then two chapters Next fight Sakura Haruno vs Shikamaru Nara. I wonder how I will play that one tststst...
In the chunin exams I believed Lee was the strongest contestant there. Gara without his sand defence will have lost.
Anyways you all see how I am busy fucking yo characters in theses exams it's all for the big event called Konoha crush because when that arc ends Canon will never be the same again. Don't even expect shippuden to look like canon because I'm giving it a different telling!!!!
