"Kowloon might be the best bet." You mused aloud. You really did want to get your digimon stronger quickly.
"What do you two think?" You asked the digimon in your digivice.
"I wanna fight boss!" Black Agumon eagerly replied, "Let's go kick some ass!"
DemiDevimon nodded from the digivice screen beside his brother, "The stronger we are, the better we'll be able to help you boss, so I'm all for it."
Well alright line. time to get out of this annoying entirely too blue server. At least Kowloon was a darker blue.
Pulling up your terminal with a swipe of your hand, you input the URL for Kowloon and left your client's private server behind with a liberal use of the gate hacker skill. So very useful, it meant you didn't need to walk all the way back to the server entrance to leave.
In a flash of light, you appeared at the entrance of Kowloon level 1. It was very bare, just a large platform with a path leading to a black doorway, and a large rusted ferris wheel floating in the air beside the platform you were on.
Walking forward, you made your way towards the black doorway, and stepped out into the next part of Kowloon level 1. Still just a platform, but one much bigger, and with some rides from a kids park like a slide and a pair of swings sitting in the middle.
And running right towards you from the park, yellow eyes wide was a rock-like human figure the size of a child. A Gotsumon.
Well now, wasn't it just your lucky day?
"Black Agumon, DemiDevimon, reload and attack!" pressing one of the buttons on your digivice, you released both your digimon in front of you, already in motion for a pair of attacks.
"Demi Darts!" DemiDevimon cried, tossing a trio of syringe like spears through the air towards the approaching digimon and stabbing it right in the chest three times over.
The rocky digimon let out a deep cry of pain and buckled under the attack, falling to its knees.
Just in time for Black Agumon to unleash his own attack, "Pepper Breath!" the black lizard digimon shouted, spitting out a sphere of flame the size of his head that blitzed forward and smashed into the rocky almost faster than you could blink and erasing it from existence, leaving only data behind.
"You know what to do boys." you told your digimon with a smile. They were quick to absorb the data of the Gotsumon. You couldn't believe your luck, who would have thought the second you stepped into Kowloon you'd get an easy data type prey running right to you and your digimon?
"You bastard!" a male voice shouted, just behind where Gotsumon was. you looked over to find a tall teenager clad in a black hoodie, the hood drawn up over his face to hide it running at you, even with the hood on though you could see the scowl on his lips. "That was my digimon, I was planning on capturing it!"
You rolled your eyes. "Be faster next time then." you replied swiftly. You weren't going to beat around the bush. You already knew where this was going, hackers were easily angered, most of them had little morals in the first place as hackers, hacking innocent people's information and stealing it and such.
The ones who hid their faces, were generally the type to do so.
And as you expected to happen, he roughly pulled out a purple coloured digivice and held it up, "Keramon! Gazimon! Come out an teach this guy a lesson!" he shouted angrily.
A floating spindly creature and a cross between a bipedal wolf and bunny appeared before you, the spindly Keramon giggling and the Gazimon snarling as soon as your digimon came into view.
You were moving before they even fully appeared. And so were your digimon. You weren't the type to sit around and talking shit wasn't a free action.
With just a press of a button on your digivice, Goblimon's club appeared in your hand, your fingers wrapping around it tight. Keramon was a digimon you knew well from both the card game and the show movies. They have the chance to auto kill most things on their level.
That was why you brought your club down atop its head and smashed it into the ground. The Gazimon turned, lunging at you, only to for a cry of "Pepper Breath!" to resound out behind you and a speeding fireball to impact the bunny wolf cross digimon.
"W-what the fuck!?" The hacker cried out in shock, "What kind of hacker actually attacks a freaking digimon?"
You turned quickly to your digimon while Keramon was down. Seeing that Demidevimon had just missed a barrage of his Demi Dart's due to Gazimon being blown back by Black Agumon's Pepper Breath.
"Boys, take Keramon down!" you shouted to you digimon. Then, you whirled around, with both his digimon down, the hacker was defenceless. Stepping forward, you smashed your foot into Keramon's face just to keep it down a bit more, and let out a guttural roar at the hacker.
He yelped in fright, just like you wanted him to do, flinching back as you ran at him, club held above your head in one arm. He froze mostly, too scared to move, but dodged to the side of where your club was, obviously thinking you were going to splatter his brains out with it.
Wrong.
Swinging your free arm out, you caught him in a clothesline around the neck and threw him into the ground. He choked when he tried to scream from your arm hitting his throat and curled into a ball immediately.
There was a squeal behind you, and you turned to see Keramon being lit up in flames and burst into data. Grinning, you turned back around, knowing your digimon would take care of Gazimon before it could do anything to you and raised your foot up.
"Evil Whisper!" you heard DemiDevimon shout behind you.
You brought your foot down on his arm, the one holding his digivice, forcing him to let out another choked yell of pain and drop it onto the ground. Bending down, you picked it up and then turned back around just in time to see Black Agumon smash a jab into Gazimon's face, sending the rabbit digimon onto its back, looking up at you.
Perfectly lined up. You brought down your club, and smashed it into its head and it burst into data just like Keramon before it.
You cast a look at the hacker at your feet, a sneer curling at your lips for a moment. You were a hacker, but not like these guys. You didn't target innocent people, you couldn't stand people like that.
And honestly, you did get a bit of a thrill out of putting these kinds of people down. You weren't a saint after all.
"You don't deserve digimon," You spoke down to him in contempt. Lifting up your digivice, instead of allowing your digimon to absorb all their data. You initiated the scan program. Downloading roughly half of each of the Digimon's data and creating a pair of Digi-egg's within your digivice.

You blinked. Huh, the odds of getting skills were incredibly low. To think you'd gotten one one so easily, and by the looks of it, despite being a rookie level skill, it was a pretty damn good one.
According to the scan function of your digivice. You've gained a Pagumon and Tsumemon pair of eggs. Damn, virus types. you didn't have anything against them, but your team was already quite weak to vaccine types already.
Oh well.
"Right boys, take the rest." you ordered your two digimon.
"Righto boss!" Black Agumon chirped in agreement and began doing so, while his brother DemiDevimon just nodded and got right to it.
That done with, you eyed the digivice in your hand. Digivice's were connected straight to Eden accounts. With it, you could very easily hack into his account and any funds in it. He may even have some good skill programs that you don't.
You slipped it into your story space for now. You don't exactly have the time to hack into it while prowling around Kowloon.
For now, you returned both of your digimon to your digivice. It's a good tactical advantage to not let any potential opponents see your digimon, and you can attack so suddenly and take people off guard that way too.
Yeah, Kowloon was definitely fine for now. You wanted to get your digimon stronger quickly, so you could move on to getting more money.
Speaking of digimon though. You had two digi-eggs. Tsumemon was a little tempting, the Keramon line were quite powerful, but honestly besides Infermon none of their looks really drew you in. A silly thing to not want them for, but most of the line were damn ugly.
Plus, Tsumemon were quite rare in comparison to Pagumon. You could probably get a decent bit by putting it on auction on your personal website.
With Pagumon, you could get it into a Gazimon and then possible a Garurumon as a data type to cover the vaccine weakness your current two digimon have.
Bringing up your digivice, you selected the Pagumon egg and ran the program to hatch it. Moments later, where there was once an egg on your screen, there was now a bouncing floppy eared grey head like creature with crimson red eyes.
"Huh, who are you?" the Pagumon asked, bouncing up and down curiously.
You smirked, "I'm your boss little guy," you replied.
It blinked before smiling widely, "Oh, awesome," it replied, "Then what are we doing now boss?"
"We're gonna kick some ass little buddy and get you digivolved up into the Rookie level." you replied again.
Pagumon's eyes widened, "Really!?" it gasped.
You nodded, "Yeah, I'll let DemiDevimon and Black Agumon fill you in little buddy," you told it, "While I go and find our next target."
Seconds later, your other two digimon joined it on screen and began talking to it. You cast one last look at the hacker laying at your feet groaning before continuing on.
You activated your stealth skill, blending in with the blue colouring around and pushed on through to the next floor of Kolwoon. It was much different in comparison to the two rooms before. This one being much larger, with multiple floating platforms connected together by staircases.
There weren't any digimon in view, but there was quite a few hackers. You saw a few from Zaxxon laying around, most of them just talking to each other or chilling. The lower tiers from Zaxxon liked to show off like that, more or less bragging that they were in the top hacker group.
Surprisingly though, there were two hackers going at it right in the middle of the room. An Elecmon squaring off against a Dracomon.
You made your way closer and listened in.
"We'll see how big you talk when my Elecmon absorbs the data of your stupid little lizard!" one taunted the other.
The other just laughed, "You punks from the Cypher's should have known better than to hang around here, this is Fire Hax turf now!"
You rolled your eyes. A pair of idiots from low tier gangs acting like hot shit apparently. And the low tier Zaxxon's were just content to ignore them or laugh at them it seemed if the blue hooded Zaxxon member outright guffawing at their little tiff was anything to go at.
Idiots. Yuugo had camera's everywhere in Kowloon, he'd know soon enough that they weren't taking their jobs seriously. They wouldn't be Zaxxon members for much longer at this rate.
Now, what to do. thanks to stealth, nobody has noticed you yet.
They both looked decently strong. And both were data types according to your visualizer. If the Zaxxon peons weren'tt going to do anything, you would. These kinds of show boating morons were why people were afraid to come down to Kowloon in the first place.
You reloaded your digimon, all three of them hidden by your skill as well. Pagumon looked up at you and was about to speak before DemiDevimon slapped a wing over his mouth to keep him quiet.
You held a finger up to your lips before crouching down, "Right boys," you whispered to your digimon, "I want DemiDevimon to hypnotise that Elecmon, and then attack with Pagumon, while me and Agumon take down that Dracomon real quick then join you, got it?"
All three nodded. Good, good you nodded.
You loaded your Goblimon club once again into your hand and grabbed it tight, while Demidevimon got into position near the Elecmon and let loose with his Evil Whisper, the red rings blasting out of his eyes and his stealth dropping, giving everyone around quite the fright.
When they all focused on Demidevimon, and the green bubble that shot out from beside him and smacked into the Elecmon, you acted. You raised your club as if it were Thor's mighty hammer mjolnir and activated your newly gained skill.
"Electric Stun Blast!" you shouted, slicing your club through the air as it erupted with bolts of lightning and shot out one thick lance like bolt.
"Pepper Breath!" Black Agumon spat out his speedy fireball attack at the same time. Both attacks ploughed into the winged lizard before it could even react.
It burst into data before it could even blink.
Its tamer gave a very unmanly shriek and literally bolted, running away like a pansy as you came into view beside him and shot him a feral grin.
"All right boys, all together now!" you rallied your digimon with a shout, your club erupting with crackling yellow electricity once more.
"No don't!" The hacker cried out. But it was too late.
"Electric Stun Blast!
"Spitfire Blast!"
"Demi Darts!"
"Poison Bubble!"
All four attacks smashed into the hypnotised Elecmon, with it having no hope of reaction to the attacks let alone dodging thanks to DemiDevimon's Evil Whisper attack, and like the Dracomon before it, burst into data.
There was silence in the wake of your sudden attack. That worked just fine for you, "Pagumon, absorb all that data." you ordered, casually turning to the remaining hacker who stared at you wide eyed and open mouthed.
"Yes sir boss!" Pagumon piped up, happily drawing in the data floating in the air.
"W-why did you do that?" the hacker now without a digimon suttered.
You narrowed your eyes at him, "I don't mind people fighting with digimon," you replied easily, "But idiots like you thinking your big shots and trying to claim territories and bully everyone else is why so many people are afraid to come down here - so I put a stop to it."
The hacker grit his teeth, "Y-you'll regret this!" he growled before turning on his heels and sprinting away, "The boss of the Cypher team will get you for this!"
You were about to reply, but were caught off by the voice of Pagumon sounding in your ears, "Pagumon digivolve to..!"
There was a bright flash of light and you turned, a smile tugging at your lips as the light died down to reveal your digimon's new form, "Gazimon!" the newly evolved rookie declared loudly.
You smiled. A third rookie to your team, already back in the form he was in before you took him from his previous tamer.
"I feel amazing!" Gazimon whooped, bouncing up and down on his feet.
Making your way over, you patted him on the head, "Goob job buddy," you told the digimon, then turned to the other two, "You two as well, thanks to you both he's digivolved to the rookie level already."
"It was my pleasure boss." Demidevimon accepted your thanks with a nod, while Black Agumo practically vibrated in excitement.
"Yeah, I'm happy to help boss! Now with him to back as up we can totally fight even more strong guys!" the little black dinosaur cheered.
You smiled, "Well then, take a rest in the digivice for now alright guys?" you said to them, holding up the digivice. As you'd shown before, it was very easy to ambush digimon, so keeping them stored in the digivice until they were needed was good for safety.
Human's tended to get ambushed way less, mostly because Zaxxon cracked hard down on people that actively targeted others while in the Eden servers. There were rumours that Zaxxon had ties to the company behind the artificial world.
You cast your eye up, noting that just like before, most of the Zaxxon members hadn't reacted much to you. Only a few were studying you, and a couple were outright cheering, no doubt finding what he done to the other two hackers not affiliated with their teams amusing.
Well, if they aren't going to start anything with you, then they aren't your problem. Yuugo will deal with them soon enough.
Going deeper into Kowloon might be a problem though. That Cypher team member had ran off deeper instead of leaving, so his gang might be hanging around deeper.
