Mother Wolf Ch. 08

Headmistress Bloodgood is standing, facing the window in her office. "I wish you said something sooner," the woman turns to face Howleen. The youngest Wolf sibling is surrounded by Clawdeen, Clawd, Twyla, and Toralei. "Is there any way I can get you to give the name of the father?"

Howleen looks down. "My life is already changed forever. I don't want to put that on him."

Bloodgood nods. "Very well," she removes her head to let it rest on her desk. "I shall excuse you from all gym activities until further notice," the body goes digging through some filing cabinets. "I will not tell any student of your condition, but I must notify the staff so that they'll understand what you're going through," the body hands the young werewolf a few notes. "That should cover you for today until I get the word out."

"Thank you, Headmistress Bloodgood."

"You're most welcome, Howleen. Now you're all dismissed," she tells her students, and they leave the office. Except one. "Toralei! May I have a word?"

Howleen looks up at the werecat.

"Don't worry, Kitten," Toralei reassures. "I'll be fine. Just go on to class."

"Okay," and the pink haired ghoul leaves.

Toralei turns to the Headmistress. "What you want to talk about, Grace?" and approaches the large desk in the middle.

"Toralei," the woman takes a deep breath. "I care for you. You know that?"

The ghoul merely shrugs, "Yeah, I know."

"Then explain these," the headless body gives the werecat several slips of paper. "Notes from a Dr. Oppenheimer for you and Howleen."

"We had been seeing a doctor," Toralei confidently says. "I just sweet talked her into writing me one as well."

"Except many of them are a couple years old," Bloodgood glares at the werecat as she stumbles. "Not to mention he is a marine biologist." Seeing the ghoul refusing to meet her eyes, tells the Headmistress that she knows she's been caught. With a sigh, the woman continues. "I understand why you're helping her. But you can't let the guilt of giving up your own son—" she was stopped as in one swift movement, Toralei shoves everything off the desk. The woman barely had time to pick up her own head.

"Is that what you think!?" the werecat then slams her hands on the desk. "I did not give up my son! I never would!" her eyes tear up.

"Toralei, I—"

"I need some air," the ghoul didn't wait for a reply as she leaves the office.

The woman just stands there in confusion. She rests her head back on her body, opens a drawer, and pulls out a file labeled 'Toralei Stripe'. Bloodgood skims through it before picking up a phone. "This is Grace Bloodgood, Headmistress of Monster High and current guardian of Toralei Stripe. I need some information on my charge as the file I have seems incomplete."

.oOo.

A few hours later

Howleen chases after the werecat. "Hey, Toralei!"

The said ghoul turns around with a smile. "Hey, Kitten."

"Are you alright? I haven't seen you in class yet."

With a sigh, the orange furred ghoul says. "I'll be fine. Bloodgood just found out about the notes I've been passing around. Being cornered just sent me in a mood and I had to take time to cool down."

"Yeah, I get that," Howleen lets out a small chuckle. "Guess that means no more hooky?" she jokes while elbowing her friend.

Toralei smiles as she ruffles the smaller ghoul's hair "Afraid so, Kitten."

The two make their way up the stairs only to stop once they were halfway when they are met by a certain mummy.

"Nefera?" the werecat tilts her head. "What are you doing here?"

The eldest of the de Nile sibling's scoffs. "Daddy found out that I used a relic once or twice to ask the teachers for a better grade. Now I'm being forced to take make up classes. Ugh!" the mummy then takes notice of Howleen. "Why are you with a flea bag?"

"Go easy on her, Nef," Toralei pleads. But they went unnoticed.

Nefera takes a step closer to the werewolf and looks her up in down. "You'll get nowhere with this plump," she pokes the smaller ghoul's belly.

"Hey, cut it out!" Howleen smacks the hand away.

"Don't know why I bother to help," the Egyptian princess examines her nails. "You're even more of a loser than that sister of yours."

"I'm not a loser and neither is my sister!"

"Yes you are," Nefera places a finger on the smaller ghoul's chest.

"Nefera, don't!" Toralei tries warning.

"Because I say you are," the mummy uses more force than necessary to push Howleen and the werewolf soon finds herself at the bottom of the steps.

Horrified at what she just witnessed, Toralei screams, "KITTEN!" and jumps to the bottom of the stairs and kneels next to the smaller teen who is currently clutching her abdomen. "Everything's alright, Kitten. Everything will be fine," she tells herself more than the smaller ghoul.

Howleen shows no evidence that she can hear the werecat and is simply repeating. "Please no, please no, please no!" as stream of tears runs down her cheeks.

Nefera has just reached the bottom step, "That's what happens to nobodies who get in my way," she announces with a whip of her hair before making her way down the hall.

Toralei looks away from her injured friend and over to the retreating mummy. For the first time in her life, she saw not the ambition driven ghoul that she had admired for a long time. Only the vile creature that Nefera truly is.

When Nefera heard screeching, she turns in time to see the pouncing werecat. The mummy is pinned down by Toralei as she is getting clawed.

Hearing the commotion, the nearby classes emptied, and the students and teachers are met with the sight of a Toralei thrashing Nefera.

"Oh, yeah!" Manny pumps his fists in the air. "Chick fight!" A couple of nearby harpies glare at the minotaur. "Oh, sorry."

Everyone's attention is brought to a shouting Clawdeen. "Howleen!" the older Wolf sister pushes her way past the students and is instantly by her little sister's side. "Howleen! Are you alright? Howleen!" she asks as Clawd runs up to them.

"Please no, please no, please no!" Howleen continues to cry.

The rest of the Fear Squad joins the Wolf siblings as well does Ghoulia and Twyla. None of them seem to be able to get a response out of the younger wolf ghoul.

Toralei was about to go for the eyes when she feels large hands pulling the werecat away from her prey.

"Blimey!" Mr. Hackington shouts. "What do you think yer bloody doing?"

The cat ghoul does not register the Mad Science teacher. "You're going to pay for that!"

"I think not!" Nefera pushes herself off the ground. "You'll pay for this!" and gestures to the scratches on her face and tears in her clothes.

"I'll strangle you with your own bandages!"

"Why in the name of Ra would you care about some filthy, flea infested, fat mut!?"

"She's pregnant!"

Other than Toralei's struggles to get away from the teacher, the halls quiet down at the revelation.

Toralei manages to get out of Mr. Hackington's grip and tries pouncing her former friend. Only, she ends up struggling halfway there and seems unable to move. Mr. Where appears in front of the feral werecat, doing his best to keep her back. "Gentlemen!" he turns to his fellow teachers, Mr. Hackington and Mr. Rotter. "Some assistance would be much appreciated." At his request, all three teachers get ahold of Toralei to keep the ghoul back.

Bloodgood's voice booms through the hall. "What is going on here!?" the woman first registers Toralei being held back by three members of her staff away from a scratched up Nefera.

"She attacked me!" the mummy was quick to place the blame.

"You hurt my Kitten!" Toralei screams as she's not giving up on the hunt.

"What?" the Headmistress turns to see the fear leaders huddling around the youngest of the Wolf siblings. "Howleen!" she was quick to be by the injured ghoul's side. "Howleen! What's wrong?" just like with the others, no response.

"Please no, please no, please no!"

"I called an ambulance!" Draculaura holds up her iCoffin. "They'll be here soon."

"Not soon enough," Bloodgood whistles and her most trusted stead comes galloping to her master. "Nightmare, to the hospital!" she commands as she hefts Howleen on to the horse before hopping on herself.

At breakneck speed, they dashed out of the school and down the streets of New Salem. "Don't worry, Howleen," Bloodgood tries to reassure the ghoul. "Everything will be alright."

The teen just gives the same response. "Please no, please no, please no!"
