"The Cathedral of Cascades"
The fight with the Lumen Sage knocked Bayonetta unconscious as she fell into the water. Phantom was knocked unconscious too Loki swim into the water and gave Bayonetta mouth to mouth. Bayonetta gained a new power snake within. She transformed into a snake grabbing Loki and Phantom and took them back to the surface. Phantom woke up upon impacting with the ground "Oh my head." Phantom groaned.
Bayonetta placed Loki down on some piece of rubble and sat right next to him "Now why did you have to go and do that, little one!?" Bayonetta asked why he did the mouth to mouth.
Loki didn't respond almost he was dead "Wake up!" she said.
"Damnit!" Phantom said.
Bayonetta grabbed Loki's shoulders and began shaking him "Wake up! Enough jokes! Wake up!" she said to the boy.
Loki began laughing finding the whole thing funny. Phantom was annoyed "Can I please kill him?" Phantom asked.
Bayonetta kicked Loki into the air "Come now, love. You can't let kids' jokes make you that mad!" Loki said.
"Now you're fine being called a kid!?" Phantom said.
"And what about you? Do you really think it's safe to play dead with someone who can make you dead?" Bayonetta asked.
"Men like to gamble, love?" Loki responded.
"Risking everything for nothing. Seems about right. I know another little boy just like that." Bayonetta said.
"Bet it's this guy right?" Loki asked.
Phantom rolled his eyes "Maybe he's a bit of a pervert though." Loki said.
"What did you just say about me?" Phantom asked.
Bayonetta didn't seem to like that comment either "Okay that's it I'm killing him." Phantom said.
He pulled his guns out and aimed at Loki's head but he was stopped by Bayonetta.
"Let's go. We're almost to the Cathedral." Loki said.
"Yeah we're gonna talk more about this later." Phantom said.
Bayonetta transformed into snake within and traveled through the water Phantom hang onto the snake's head as he figures holding onto the rest of the body would be weird.
They made it inside they found a device which restored the bridge to the heaven. They encountered a Infernal demon Pain. "An Infernal!?" Bayonetta asked.
"They don't look like your kind of normal attention." Loki said.
"A friend, love?" Loki asked.
"I think my friends and I might have had a falling out." Bayonetta said.
"Why would Infernals be after me?" Bayonetta wondered in her head.
She remembered what Rodin said about the balance being out of check. Bayonetta summoned Madama Butterfly's fist "Good to know some of you are keeping your part of the contract." Bayonetta said.
"Let's do this!" Phantom said.
They battled the Infernal Bayonetta was able to make a dent in the armor and she summoned Diomedes to finish it.
The room was filled up with water they swim to the top and entered the grand hall and they began walking up stairs "This is it. The bridge to the heavens should be right above us." Loki said.
"Are you sure?" Bayonetta asked.
"Heh. Not really." Loki said.
"Not really, huh? But you're right. This is it. Call it a woman's intuition." Bayonetta said.
"Woman's intuition. What kind of silly comic book shit is that? You still don't know a thing about me." Loki said.
"Let's just say I have plenty of experience with "nothing coming to mind.'" Bayonetta said.
"What?" Loki asked.
"I spent 500 years not knowing who I was. I only found out the truth recently." Bayonetta brought up past events.
"You too?" Loki asked.
"Listen, I don't orb a thing. Nothing. I don't even know why I'm so damn sure I need to go that mountain. But I know I have to. It's all I know. Does that make any sense?" Loki asked.
"Come now, little one. Can't let the girls know you've got a heart." Bayonetta said.
"It's not like that!" Loki said.
"If that's all you know, that's all the sense you need. Just believe. That's what I did." Bayonetta said.
They found a giant orb-like cage it seemed it was being powered by Loki's magic. He entered it and Luka appear "You again!?" Loki asked.
"Oh hey. Mouth brat kid." Luka said.
"So. I see you're acquainted." Bayonetta said.
"How did you get here!?" Loki asked.
"I'm the Great L-U-K-A Luka. I didn't go through all these ridiculous ordeals to just RANDOMLY show up in opportune places, you know?" Luka was full of himself.
"See, risking everything for nothing... Told you I knew someone just like that." Bayonetta said.
"And you thought it was me." Phantom said to Loki.
"So, what are you after this time?" Bayonetta asked.
"Oh, loads of stuff. For instance..." Luka pulled out a book.
"I found this really great place for seafood. They do an amazing sardine meuniere. But more importantly, I'm investigating an old Noatun story... Known as the "Legend of Aesir." Luka said.
"The Legend of Aesir?" Loki asked.
"And this fairy tale is?" Bayonetta asked.
"Actually, this might have something to do with you, Bayonetta." Luka said.
"You don't say." Bayonetta said.
"The Legend of Aesir... A legend from the dawn of time. Nobody knows where the world came from. A struggle caused the Trinity of Realities to be split into three realms: light, darkness, and chaos. Obviously, our world was the one born from chaos. The three realms all needed rulers. Most of all, ours. And the one that ruled the chaos became known as Aesir. Aesir spent the first eternity quietly looking upon the Earth from his holy mountain. Where we only see reality and make it match our rules of the world. Aesir saw through reality, and those visions became our world. These observations became Aesir's power. Aesir's eyes were truly the eyes that created the world. However, Aesir pitied the humans for their naivety and lack of free will so the power he wielded was split into two equal halves and entrusted each to humanity's instincts: the Right Eye of Light, and the Left Eye of Darkness. By dividing the power of the eyes of Aesir, humans gained free will... They could now choose. With control of the Eyes of the World, the eyes that determine destiny, humans could choose their own paths. They awake to their own identities. Man is but a reed, the most feeble thing in nature, but now we were thinking reeds, and we took our first big step towards grand prosperity. The inheritors of the eyes of Aesir had been granted the power of creation." Luka explained the legend.
"The Eyes..." Bayonetta said.
"That's right, the "Eyes of the World" controlled by a Lumen Sage and Umbra Witch." Luka said.
"The Eyes... of the World?" Loki asked.
"However, the influence of the "Right Eye," the one controlled by the sages, left this world forever with the death of the final sage." Luka said.
Bayonetta remembered her battles with her father. Luka grappled to her level "Do the natural disasters that are occurring right now have something to do with the loss of the Right Eye?" Luka asked.
"And what will happen to our planet?" Luka asked.
"Those are the truths I'm after." Luka said.
"And the truth will always be the truth. So if the truth is here, then so am I. And I think the key to that truth is that mountain. Fimbulventr." Luka said.
"How DO you find these things?" Bayonetta asked.
"I've done my homework." Luka said.
"Would you expect anything less from... the marvelous, magnificent, magnanimous Lu-" Luka didn't finish as Bayonetta kicked him.
Angels appeared "Bayonetta, Phantom, get on!" Loki said.
"Roger!" Phantom said.
The two got on the orb and they were going to the top. A fiery angel blasted the orb and Loki jumped out. Loki was running from another angel chased Loki but Bayonetta and Phantom came back and destroyed the angels.
