Ep 24: Lorgar Aurelian.
Colchis is a Feudal World located somewhere in the West of the Galaxy.
A world dedicated to the religion of which the Covenant of Vharadesh is the most powerful cult on the planet.
In an oasis, a caravan of a large tribe was to eat and drink.
They are the Forsaken, outcasts living in the desert.
While they were quietly going about their business, a shooting star fell from the sky and crashed violently into the sand not far from the Oasis.
The leader of the tribe, Fan Morgal arrived on the scene.
He saw a huge glazed crater with a kind of metal shell at the bottom.
Tribal man: "What is it?"
Fan Morgal: "I have no idea. Let's take a closer look."
They went down to see the metal hull and discovered written signs meaning: XVII. They had no idea.
Fan Morgal looked inside and was shocked to see what was inside.
Fan Morgal: "Look..."
He thrust his arms between the broken windows and pulled out a small baby.
The tribe was overwhelmed by the beauty of the baby.
Fan Morgal: "The stars have blessed us... Let's keep this baby."
The townspeople nodded unanimously.
Thus, the baby was adopted into the Forsaken tribe.
The days passed and everyone was taking care of the child.
The child was fed and cared for.
Fan Morgal baptized Lorgar which meant "The Summoner of Rain" in his clan's dialect.
However, only seventeen days after Lorgar's arrival is half a year in Colchisian measurement.
A man arrived from a large shrine cart, behind was a caravan.
His name is Kor Phaeron, a priest known for his virulent activism in the Cult of the Covenant. A Cult worshiping the 4 ruthless Deities of the warp dimension, named the Empyrean on Colchis.
Kor Phaeron descended from his trailer and began preaching the good word to the tribesmen. He ignited his speech pointing out the miserable nature of the tribe and considering himself a respectable priest compared to other preachers.
As he continued, he saw that some of them were regularly looking at a tent in the center of the camp. A large conical structure striped with white, black and red.
Kor Phaeron ends up being exasperated.
Kor Phaeron: "May I know what's in this tent?"
Fan Morgal: "I don't think it's a good idea to approach you. High Priest of Vharadesh."
Kor Phaeron ignored the tribe leader's words, suspecting that they were hiding archaeotechnology from ancient times.
He entered the tent despite the chief's increasingly insistent refusal.
Kor Phaeron saw the baby for a moment before being struck down by an immeasurable force that knocked him down.
Kor Phaeron (Thoughts): "What happened? But who is this child?!"
Kor Phaeron eventually recovered from his shock and admired the young boy.
Kor Phaeron: "It's amazing...I feel the powers in him! What's his name?"
Fan Morgal: "Lorgar."
Kor Phaeron: "I think this child should be taken with me. It is blasphemy that he stays among you!"
Then a small voice caught his attention.
Lorgar: "You didn't ask my opinion."
Kor Phaeron turned in shock to see such a small child speaking like that, especially with such wisdom and tranquility.
Kor Phaeron: "But what do you want from me then?"
Lorgar: "I wish to accompany you. Your speech impressed me. I feel that I can better discover myself at your side and the Powers and the Truth. In exchange, let me keep my name."
Kor Phaeron was impressed with this foresight and seized this golden opportunity.
Thus, Kor Phaeron took Lorgar with him and the caravan set off again from whence it had come.
But when they were far enough away. Kor Phaeron waved to his guards and they rushed towards the caravan of nomads.
Screams and destruction were heard in the distance. Lorgar, knowing what's going on, had only expressed slight regret. He tilted his head and curled his lips.
Kor Phaeron on his side now had a huge ambition because now that he has Lorgar, he felt that glory was waiting for him in front of him and that maybe... the Covenant would be his forever.
During the days that followed. The caravan continued its course, now emerging from the desert.
Lorgar then saw men chained and doing the most menial tasks of the caravan.
Lorgar: "Why are these men doing this?"
Kor Phaeron: "They are slaves. Vermin who have offended the gods. They must pay their affront with servitude for the rest of their lives. You must show them no mercy. you call me master because I will teach you everything he has to know about the Powers."
Lorgar: "Okay... master."
Kor Phaeron: "You learn fast, that's a good thing."
Kor Phaeron was a strict master of Lorgar. He ordered him to report without delay for the lessons he was going to learn and that he would be punished if he arrived late.
Lorgar learned a first lesson: all living beings are slaves of the Powers and therefore must be humble.
Lorgar formed a great friendship with Nairo, Kor Phaeron's personal slave.
The latter told him the names of the residents of the caravan.
The young boy learned the first prayers with Nairo like that of the Twilight called the Vesperal.
He learned during the first evening by heart the words in the middle of the slaves at the back of the other devotees.
Kor Phaeron decided to introduce Lorgar to everyone.
Kor Phaeron: "Behold this boy gifted by the Powers! He will be the one who will bring renewal to Colchis!"
The slaves bowed to Lorgar.
Kor Phaeron later had him read the Precepts on the Lessons of Dammas Dar.
But Lorgar made the mistake of questioning him on a forbidden subject.
Lorgar: "But is this really the only way forward?"
Kor Phaeron outraged at this question, slapped him.
Lorgar: "What...?"
Kor Phaeron: "Imbecile. You dare question the writings of the Covenant?"
Kor Phaeron: "We don't repeat lyrics like a stupid parrot! You must learn the meaning of the words and grasp the Truth!"
Lorgar: "Sorry..."
Lorgar later was crying outside. Nairo approached him.
Nairo: "What is it?"
Lorgar: "Master Kor Phaeron hit me because I didn't grasp the meaning of the words."
Nairo: "I see... Know that he has always been very demanding and does not hesitate to chastise the unbelievers."
Lorgar: "I have a question."
Nairo: "Which one?"
Lorgar: "Could you teach me to read the texts? You seem to know more than you like..."
Nairobi: "I know..."
Nairo lowered his head.
Lorgar: "What's going on?"
Nairo: "Before I was a slave. I was a teacher in the city but I made the mistake of telling the students that men and women are equal in the eyes of the Powers."
Lorgar: "That's not such a heretical opinion."
Nairo: "The Covenant doesn't agree. I see myself devoting my life to paying for this heresy."
Lorgar for the rest of his childhood continued to learn despite Kor Phaeron's brutal treatment.
He learned to read, write and pray religious texts.
Kor Phaeron was testing him by answering charges of blasphemy and heresy by bombarding him with questions that the pagans would ask.
Lorgar was eager to learn especially about the Old Times, especially about Colchis, the Prophets, the caravans and the trade routes.
Nario told him everything he knew as a former teacher. The slaves at the same time as they did their chores, they told their stories and even sang the songs of their people. They taught Lorgar their own dialects and jargons.
One day Lorgar asked Nairo a question.
Lorgar: "I could show it to Kor Phaeron. There's plenty to know from you."
Nairo: "Are you crazy? Kor Phaeron despises the tributes of the desert! The punishments he reserved for slaves are equivalent to their heresy!"
Lorgar remained silent but he felt a lot of annoyance but feared Kor Phaeron's lashes and decided to follow Nairo's advice.
He learned the languages of three dozen regions and cities thanks to the guards who discussed between communities who were silent in front of Kor Phaeron.
During the sixth planetary cold after the discovery of Lorgar. The caravan arrived at Ad Drazonti, an oasis.
Lorgar during the whole trip had acquired superhuman strength, helped in their daily chores. Which delights the slaves until they sing merrily.
Kor Phaeron was furious to see this racket.
Kor Phaeron: "Chasten me these fools!"
The foremen giving six shots whips to slaves, all under Lorgar's eyes.
When finally the rebuke of the slaves ended.
Kor Phaeron walked very angrily towards Lorgar.
Kor Phaeron: "What did I tell you? You must show no mercy to the slaves! Anything to do that questions the judgments of the Powers! They are not victims, they are guilty! Guilty of their heresy !"
Lorgar: "I had to help them! We are part of a whole in the caravan!"
Kor Phaeron: "This is not your place! You cannot replace slaves even if you are strong!"
Lorgar was confused, remaining silent for a moment.
Lorgar: "I apologize flatly. I swear to you that from now on. I will serve you, the Powers and defend the Truth until my life."
Kor Phaeron kept a hard face.
Kor Phaeron: "I hope you got it. Now your punishment..."
He took his whip and struck him 8 times.
Later, the caravan arrived at the oasis.
Kor Phaeron had ordered Lorgar to stay out of sight of the other caravans present.
Lorgar began to protest.
Lorgar: "Why can't I?"
Kor Phaeron: "You're going to get poisoned! I've had enough of this disobedience! You humiliate the Powers with your words!"
Lorgar: "But..."
Kor Phaeron: "Silence! I'll make you save the correction of your life!"
Lorgar tried to run away but was caught by the guards who held him back with difficulty.
Kor Phaeron opened his student's habit but surprised that there was no trace of the whip.
Kor Phaeron: "What does this mean! Did you chastise him or not?"
Foreman: "I swear I did. The guards here can testify. I don't understand this miracle."
The other guards nodded.
Kor Phaeron: "I see... bring five strong guards."
The five guards were brought before Lorgar.
Kor Phaeron: "Chastise him with your fists, feet and mace."
The five guards complied and beat up Lorgar who screamed in agony with their same objects.
Eventually, when Kor Phaeron saw Lorgar's bruised and bloody body.
Kor Phaeron: "These will be your future punishments. Don't think these heretical thoughts anymore!"
After a few days, the Ad Drazonti, the caravan enters the Arid Plains. A dangerous place where sandstorms were numerous.
The trip becomes a real ordeal as the sandstorms rage with rage.
The caravan arrived at the ruins of an ancient city called Last Refuge or Sarragen in Colchisien.
Lorgar was in the middle of a lesson.
Lorgar: "Please. I want to read these books with all these unknown languages."
Kor Phaeron: "That's out of the question! It's heretical."
Lorgar: "Please... father."
Kor Phaeron was shocked at this but his face was filled with anger.
Kor Phaeron: "You think I'm gullible with your feelings! I think a beating will set you straight! Keep it!"
But they did not move.
Kor Phaeron: "Well... what are you waiting for?"
Guard 1: "No."
Guard 2: "We will no longer lay hands on the Powers' envoy."
Kor Phaeron: "What?"
Guard 3: "By treating the boy with such contempt. You dishonor the powers!"
They took Kor Phaeron out of the tent and the other members of the caravan.
Kor Phaeron: "What are you doing to me?!"
Guard 4: "The right thing to do!"
He was going to get put under a noose.
Lorgar: "Leave him! Free my father!"
Some of the caravan guards were outraged.
Guard: "Die false sent from the Powers!"
But Lorgar slew them with his strong hands, others fled into the desert.
Kor Phaeron was surprised to see such devotion from Lorgar towards him and saving his life by freeing him from his bonds.
Kor Phaeron: "Thank you... my son."
Lorgar: "Stay there."
He took a mace with a globe of iron and went into the desert.
He killed the last survivors of the massacre who would be ready to propagate his existence in the cities until Vharadesh.
The hunt lasted three days and then Lorgar returned.
Kor Phaeron in front of all, bent the knee to Lorgar.
Kor Phaeron: "I am ready to serve you, Bearer of the Word."
Thus, Lorgar began to preach to many tribes that the caravan grew stronger and swelled.
Lorgar undertook the reading and translation of these numerous works that his former master possessed. He made the discovery as poetry and a guide to the culinary arts.
But his studies were stalling and Lorgar felt he was not making progress.
One day he chatted with Kor Phaeron.
Kor Phaeron: "How come you can't find the truth?"
Lorgar: "Despite my readings...I remain in the same place. No revelation comes to mind. I think the Powers expect something else from me. Something I haven't discovered yet."
Kor Phaeron: "Where?"
Lorgar: "In the stars."
Then immersed in this reflection, he was struck by a violent headache.
Lorgar: "AAAAAHHH!"
Under the shocked and horrified eyes of Kor Phaeron. The Primarch clutched his head as his body jerked in spasms.
Kor Phaeron tried to pull him back, shaking him.
Kor Phaeron: "But what's happening to you? Answer me Lorgar!"
Lorgar after a while finally came to his senses.
Lorgar: "I don't believe it... The Truth has come to me."
Kor Phaeron: "What?"
Lorgar: "A god clad in Gold, stars descending from the heavens on the wings of an eagle. The One and only god!"
Kor Phaeron: "What does that mean?"
Lorgar: "The Powers have revealed the Truth to me! The Covenant is rightfully mine, let's go to Vharadesh!"
Lorgar in front of all his followers proclaimed a new faith: that of the Unique.
He proceeded to convert his entire caravan and then led it to the mines of Taranthis. Covenant's many slaves worked under a scorching sun.
Lorgar: "We're going to reveal our faith to them in front of everyone!"
Kor Phaeron: "Not so fast!"
Lorgar: "Why?"
Kor Phaeron: "You must show the strength of your faith. Because most of these slaves are unbelievers. Show them who is right with your strength!"
The first clash broke out with the mine guards who attacked the caravan.
Lorgar hurled himself at the fighting soldiers with javelin throwers and deafening salvoes of ONUs that shook their flanks staggeringly.
This show of force galvanized and reinforced the fanaticism of his soldiers.
Lorgar was aided by Kor Phaeron who harangued the converts to come to Lorgar's aid.
Lorgar saw the slave Nairo being attacked by a motorized centipede.
Lorgar stepped in and split the vehicle's nose open, slicing through the legs of the driver bound in the vehicle, as well as the rest of his body.
Lorgar had the skin and the flesh of his arms shredded by the machine from the wrist to the elbow but which regenerated quickly.
The last survivors barricaded themselves in the mines.
Lorgar then made a ciscours of several hours in front of the barricaded mines, addressing the slaves who were locked up.
They told them to free themselves from their chains in the name of the One. Eventually, the thousands of slaves broke their chains and joined Lorgar.
Lorgar now had a real army with him.
Lorgar changed the souls of loyal while Kor Phaeron took charge of their bodies.
They threw themselves against Meassin, a city that made slaves work for the cotton and flax plantations.
As he traveled, Lorgar was once again gripped by a mystical crisis.
Kor Phaeron: "What's going on?"
Lorgar: "The One...He comes to us. With a Magus clad in blue and with eyes that glowed with divine radiance! They come to us! I also see a woman with Golden Hair !"
The city of Meassin quickly fell to Lorgar's followers.
Successes followed in Ahesh Ahuk, from Kofus to the lava plains of Toursas, the Seasas and Ouresh plantations where the armies of the Covenant were crushed by the numbers and fanaticism of Lorgar's army.
At one point, Lorgar faced the Royal Worm, a two hundred meter monster, covered in glittering red and gold scales and whose head was topped with a kind of bony frill around its neck.
Lorgar let himself be swallowed by the monster before killing her from within. He came out covered in blood and with the beast's throat in his hands.
This feat further strengthened the fanaticism of Lorgar's believers.
Finally, Lorgar and his followers arrived on the roads that led to Vharadesh. He saw the slaves toiling in the fields and under the whips of the Covenant.
Lorgar: "What are we going to do?"
Kor Phaeron: "Let's stay hidden. Let's keep rumors of our arrival from spreading in the city."
Lorgar had his caravan camped nearly a mile away.
Kor Phaeron was going to leave with a small troop towards the city.
Lorgar: "What are you going to do?"
Kor Phaeron: "Go on a diplomatic mission. We can convince them of a peaceful surrender."
Lorgar: "Better try that."
Kor Phaeron set off with his troop towards the gates of the city.
Kor Phaeron: "Ahoy from the city!"
Guard: "Yes?"
Kor Phaeron: "I am Kor Phaeron! Envoy of Lorgar, messenger of the One. I demand that your leaders come to me to discuss peace agreements!"
The guards looked at each other and descended to open the door.
Guard: "Are you the real Kor Phaeron?"
Kor Phaeron: "Yes."
Guard: "Say Lorgar is welcome."
Kor Phaeron raised his eyebrow.
Kor Phaeron: "How so?"
The guards waved to the others who brought before Kor Phaeron the remains of the six hierarchs and the Ecclesiarch. Kor Phaeron immediately understood that the wishes of the city surpassed those of its rulers.
Lorgar becomes the new Ecclesiarch while Kor Phaeron becomes the Archdeacon of the Covenant.
Lorgar preached the word of the One before all the people of Vharadesh.
Lorgar: "Let all Colchis revere the One. May He forgive us all and we may work together for the best! May our faith spread and Truth come forth!"
The people of Vharadesh cheered Lorgar.
But when Lorgar entered the Ecclesiarchical palace Kor Phaeron was irritated.
Kor Phaeron: "Lorgar. Declaring war on all the rest of Colchis is reckless! You risk making us disappear!"
Lorgar: "It's worth a try. The Truth must spread. The One is coming and we must prepare Colchis for this blessing."
Kor Phaeron: "Hm... You'll have to be very careful."
Lorgar: "The One is with me. The Force of the Word is with me."
Lorgar then left with his army of followers and the Holy War of Colchis began.
Lorgar and his followers ahead came to the City of Golgora and preached his word. The viziers and elders of Golgora had been busy since the rise of Lorgar and decided to let the Truth into their city. Ctholl, Martias, Lanansa and Hourldesh followed.
However, things got complicated with the other religious kingdoms on the planet.
Lorgar preached before Spruce, the religious city of the Librarian's Deliverance Cult.
But he received rocks and flaming arrows from the city as an answer.
Lorgar laid siege to the city and after a Meridian in the Colchisian calendar the city fell. Lorgar discovered that his faith was already inside the city.
Lorgar was then facing the besieged inhabitants.
Lorgar: "You have a choice. Join the One or die under its paws."
The great majority of the inhabitants bowed before him while the others were taken and put at the stake.
Other cities, on the other hand, refused to convert until death. The inhabitants were massacred down to the last adult because they were irreversibly corrupt.
The case of Cathrace was edifying because only a tenth of its population converted and the stakes were being built on the Horizon.
Lorgar had tears in his eyes.
Lorgar: "Why are they so blind? Let's hope the others aren't..."
Priest: "May their souls find redemption from the Powers."
Vesperal suffered the same fate and Lorgar left alone in the desert to seek comfort with the One. He returned a few days later, with a veil over him.
Lorgar sent many men to Vharadesh as pilgrims to learn the Truth. This allowed the creation of roads and posts. They dug canals, founded convents and other monasteries to guide the Faithful.
During this time, other cities fell under the domination of Vharadesh thanks to the agents of Kor Phaeron.
The Word of Lorgar spread and with it the prosperity of the civilization of Vharadesh. It always channeled more financial and human flows towards the coffers and cloisters of the Archdeacon.
During the last four years of the Holy War.
Lorgar's troops grew into the hundreds of thousands, and the cities surrendered without a fight, even the most hardened atheists.
Cities were purged of unbelievers and refounded in the image of Vharadesh, while academies and seminaries overseen by Kor Phaeron's chosen ones promulgated the message of the Covenant.
But Lorgar faced with each fallen city Lorgar grew both more determined and sickened by the consequences of his actions.
But he faced religious armies under his command, which, guided by blind fanaticism, plundered and razed cities for free and without authorization.
As the Faithful advanced, the remaining free cities coalesced, but nothing could stop Lorgar.
Vanguard soldiers bellowed their prayers for the One and struck down those who challenged them.
Lorgar in the face of the death of each faithful paid homage to them in his prayers and preaching.
He confided in Nairo about his actions and the nightmares of those dead, sacrificed for the Truth. Then he would order the next assault, knowing he had to go through with it.
But the closer the Ecclesiarch got to his goal, the worse his visions got.
Madness and passion threatened to overwhelm him and reduce him to a moaning, drooling human wreck in his majestic pavilion.
Lorgar refused to return to the city of Vharadesh as long as his soul was threatened. Nairo has become a great support for the Ecclesiarch whose attacks of rage and depression follow one another. But at each crisis of visions, the Ecclesiarch comes out reinvigorated and enlightened while delivering new sermons that he learned from the Empyrean. After the capture of Khathage, only one city remained. It was the city of Gahevarla, the City of Magisteriums whose walls are impregnable.
Lorgar decided to return to Vharadesh to see how the city was doing and take new troops. He found Kor Phaeron on his desk.
Kor Phaeron: "Here you are, Lorgar."
Lorgar: "I know."
Kor Phaeron: "What's going on?"
Lorgar: "I can't stand this endless war. I do not know what the Powers want from me. Especially since I do the technowitchcraft of Gahevarla."
Kor Phaeron: "The One only reveal the Truth through riddles."
Lorgar then saw a book that Kor Phaeron was writing.
Lorgar: "What is it?"
Kor Phaeron: "A collection of your sermonts. I was waiting for you to read it when you returned. Come then."
Lorgar looked at the lines of the book but was outraged for a moment that some sentences were changed.
Lorgar: "Why are you falsifying my words?"
Kor Phaeron: "Simplification, nuance."
Lorgar: "It doesn't change anything."
Kor Phaeron: "Some of your followers would misinterpret your words and cause considerable damage."
Lorgar: "The reverse is also the case."
Kor Phaeron: "Don't worry. I make you the solemn promise that I will read this book to you to see if our divine laws are well transcribed."
Lorgar: "I hope so. Thank you."
Lorgar, regaining some spirit, went back to Gahevarla.
He rushed his followers to the last city to resist him. Surrounded by a wall rippling with brus and crackling energy that was the storm field. Only one road named the Echorcheuse could cross the storm and lead to the city.
Lorgar led a first assault with a cart covered with heavily welded iron plates. But as the cart sank into the storm, a flash several meters long hit the fuel tank of the cart which exploded and shook everyone present except Lorgar.
Soldier: "We cannot advance Ecclesiarch Lorgar! What do we do?"
Lorgar: "I'll see what I can do..."
He then got out of the cart under the gaze of his faithful.
He stepped into the storm.
Ten meters from the wall of the raging elements. He paused, thoughtful and whether he would consider the Ecorcheuse for the first time.
He knelt down, head down and motionless, and then began to speak.
Lorgar: "Unique. You who come from heaven. Give me the strength to keep going. May your son finish his work. Your servant will follow you if you allow me."
The storm answered him with the blowing winds. Lorgar felt that his strength was coming back to him.
Before the eyes of his followers, tendrils of energy sprang from the storm, twinkling across his golden skin.
The wall of the Ecorcheuse bowed to his advance and opened to welcome him while a lightning worm, purple and white burst and crackled around him.
Lorgar raised his arms and the breech widened in front of his arms, the sand spread, forming a ravine of moving rocks and swirling dust on both sides. Bridges of energy are built and crackle across the ditch.
Lorgar: "Come, my Faithful! May faith prevail!"
The faithful took courage and stormed the city, rushed into the walls. Lorgar shattered the gates of the dungeon.
The Sorcerer who ruled the city was ousted by Lorgar from his own hands.
Colchis was now unified under the Covenant of Lorgar and Kor Phaeron.
Lorgar a long journey back to Vharadesh. He was expecting a parade with great pomp.
But none of that, the streets were crowded with priests, deacons and ordained. As he passed, they bowed to him.
Lorgar arrived at a large square, which replaced the old academy of the city. A square tiled in gold and silver with icons.
Statues of Lorgar and Kor Phaeron in marble and granite.
After this silent and respectful reception. Lorgar entered the Temple of the One to accompany Kor Phaeron.
Kor Phaeron: "It's time to put an end to the last cultists of Powers. They could turn against us."
Lorgar: "Yes, I've had enough of all this. Show no mercy."
Nairo: "Don't do that."
Silence falls in the room.
Lorgar: "What did you say?"
Nairo: "Don't do that. Lorgar, don't you see that you are sinking into blindness?"
Kor Phaeron: "You have been resentful since I razed the academy. I tell you again for the thousandth time: it was necessary."
Nairo: "Lorgar. Please. We must stop this bloodshed."
Lorgar: "Nairo, this will be the last time. After that, only peace will be known."
Nairo: "You're the one who doesn't understand Lorgar. You talk like Kor Phaeron. Where did the Lorgar I followed go?"
Lorgar: "Nairo, stop."
Kor Phaeron: "That's enough. Go back to your education room."
Nairo: "To teach what? The same verses? Don't make me laugh! We sink into ignorance! I didn't notice it but now... we are going straight to Nothingness."
Kor Phaeron: "How dare you!"
Lorgar: "Listen to me Nairo..."
But he is interrupted by Kor Phaeron.
Kor Phaeron: "You should have remained the slave you deserved the place. Your words are heretical!"
Nairo was livid but his reaction surprised everyone. He took a dagger out of his tunic and pinned it on Kor Phaeron.
Kor Phaeron(screams in pain): "WOUUAAAAH! Murderer!"
Lorgar reacted and crushed Nairo with his mace. The servants of the temple and carried Kor Phaeron to the doctors of the city.
Lorgar, on the other hand, stood in front of Nairo's bloodied corpse. He suddenly saw on the ground a halo of light nimber Nairo's head.
Lorgar turned his eyes in the sky.
Lorgar: "They are coming."
Almost a year later, a huge white ship arrived in the sky.
His name with was the Infinite written Gothic.
Just behind was the flagship marked with chifrre XV.
It was Salem, who came with Magnus to find one of the Primarchs.
Salem: "Magnus, I feel a great psychic presence on this city. He's one of your brothers, I'm sure!"
Magnus: "I feel it too."
They descended on the planet with two squads of the Thousand Sons.
Arriving on Vharadesh, they were received by a gigantic crowd who bowed before them.
They were surprised to see that this crowd received them as gods, as if they were waiting for them.
Salem then saw the ruler of the city, whom they understood was one of the Primarchs because of his recognizable size.
Salem: "Here he is... my child."
But when she approached in front of Lorgar. She saw a Primarch weeping with joy, as if he had met a goddess.
Salem: "What's going on?"
Lorgar: "The golden-haired woman finally came with the Magus... I wasn't wrong."
Salem: "Have you had visions of me?"
Lorgar: "Of course! Why would a Ecclesiarch deny the existence of the One? Where is he anyway?"
Salem understood the words of the Primarch who seemed to be a convinced religious and deeply religious.
Salem: "He's on his way... I'm just his emissary. But what matters to me is that I'm reunited with my baby."
She hugged him motherly, which shocked Lorgar. But he finally understood, when he saw at that moment a vision of the woman behind glass singing lullabies.
He came out of his torpor with the same voice of the woman.
Salem: "What's going on? Are you okay?"
Lorgar: "I remember now..."
Salem: "What?"
Lorgar: "You sang me a lullaby...mother."
Salem was surprised but smiled.
From a distance, Kor Phaeron watched the scene with his eyes raised in front of this woman. So this woman we know nothing about is Lorgar's mother?
Several days pass and Salem had learned of Lorgar's exploits. But the fact that he had done all this in the name of a god who would be the Emperor. This completely contradicts the atheistic policy of the Imperium. But she decided to ignore it to avoid having unnecessary conflicts with Lorgar.
Speaking of deities... Salem chatted with Lorgar.
Salem: "Know Lorgar that I'm not from Terra."
Lorgar: "Really?"
Salem: "I come from a world called Remnant. A world created by two gods. A god of light who gave life to my people. While the god of darkness gave us magic."
Lorgar: "There are mages on my world. I see no reason to be surprised."
Salem: "It's not just any magic."
She opened her magic and manifested her magic with little balls of light.
Lorgar was impressed but suddenly felt weak. He was breathing heavily and felt sleepy.
Lorgar: "What? What's happening to me?"
Salem: "Oh sorry..."
She closed her hand and Lorgar regained his strength and was thinking clearly again.
Lorgar: "What happened?"
Salem: "Forgive me. I forgot you had Warp... or Empyrean powers."
Lorgar: "But what is this magic?"
Salem: "It is the magic of the Material Universe and when it comes into contact with the Empyrean. Great upheavals take place. It is the opposite of Chaos. I would use no more before you. Now let's prepare help us to meet your legion and your father, the One."
Lorgar: "I know, I've already found a name for them."
Salem: "Which one?"
Lorgar: "The Word Bearers."
Salem: "...Not bad."
As the two continued to chat. They were seen by Kor Phaeron. The latter looked with suspicion and contempt at the Witch of Terra.
Kor Phaeron (thoughts): "This woman is a real threat. How will the Powers prosper if she spreads her sorcery everywhere? Her gods are infamous... How could they give her existence?"
Kor Phaeron did not know that he was listened to by Magnus who took mead.
Magnus (thoughts): "The Powers? I hope he's not talking about Chaos because otherwise...he's going to fall into our dear father's crosshairs."
