Episode 3

Jess POV

It had been two weeks since I'd been back in Charming. Ope had taken off on a walk about leaving me and Mary to take care of his kids. I kept the kids at Ope's house during the week then Mary would take them to hers on the weekend giving me a break. We had a nice routine going. I hadn't talked to Jax since that day at the clubhouse. Kozik had been staying with me and helping if I needed him to. He told me that he was under strict orders to take care of me. The only time that he left my side was when Clay needed an extra set of hands.

This particular day, Kozik said that he had to be at the clubhouse to help Clay so I decided to tag along and hang out with Gemma. When we pulled up at the clubhouse, Koz headed to find Clay while I made my way over to the office. Gemma was sitting at the desk working on some paperwork so I sat on the couch. "Been wondering when I'd see you." Gem said.

I pulled my smokes out and lit one. "Guess I have been distant." I said. She leaned back in her chair and looked at me. "What?" I asked.

"Clay told me this morning that some of the other charters are gonna be coming into town." Gemma said.

I blew out a puff of smoke. "SAMTAC one of them?" I asked. She nodded. "Okay. It'll be nice to see my boys. I've been missing them."

"I think that you should tell Jax." She said. She knew that I'd been seeing someone casually from SAMTAC, she just didn't know who.

I sighed. "Gem, Jax screwed up. I knew that something was going on with him and Tara. I had to find out from her first that he'd gone to see her after I came home. He couldn't even tell me the truth." I told her.

"Baby, he's hasn't been sleeping with her… now or then." She said.

I shook my head. "It doesn't matter. He still should have told me that he went to see her." I said. I nodded.

That afternoon, I found myself sitting up on the roof of the clubhouse. Hap was finally coming to town and I couldn't be happier. I'd missed him. I pulled my phone out of my back pocket and looked through the pictures that I had on it. Most of them were of me and Hap, occasionally I'd find one of the other SAMTAC boys in the pictures.

Gemma was right. I needed to talk to Jax. I headed down from the roof to find him.

It didn't take me long. He was coming out of one of the garage bays when he spotted me. "Hey." He said approaching me.

"Hey, can we talk? Do you have time?" I asked him.

He nodded. "Sure I have time." He said leading me over to the picnic tables.

We sat down. "Your mom told me that SAMTAC is coming." I said.

He nodded. "Yeah Lee called, said they'd be here tonight." Jax told me.

"Well there's something I need to tell you before that get here." I said.

"This about the guy." He said coldly.

I nodded. "Yeah. He'll be with them." I said.

"Just tell me." He said.

I hesitated. "It's Hap." I said.

Jax scoffed. "You've been seeing Hap?" He asked me and I nodded. "Good luck with that." He said before walking off.

Who the hell did he think that he was? Where did he get the right to be mad at me? I told him that I was casually seeing a member of SAMTAC. Ugh. Jax always had a way of frustrating me. I made my way back over to the office to sit with Gemma while we waited on the other charters to come in.

It was just as the sun went down when Gemma and I heard the roar of bikes approaching the lot. Gemma and I made our way outside to greet our visitors. I was so happy to see my SAMTAC boys. Hap was the first one off his bike so I ran over to him. He had this big smile on his face when he saw me. I jumped in his arms. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead. I wrapped my legs around his waist, hugging him as tight as I could. "I can't believe that your finally here." I said as he put me back on the ground.

"Me neither. God I missed you." Hap said.

"I missed you too." I said.

"What about us? Did you miss us?" I heard Lee ask me.

Hap stepped to the side so that I could see the rest of my SAMTAC boys. Lee and I had gotten off to a rough start when I'd first arrived in Washington, but after he'd talked to Clay and he vouched for me everything was smooth. Lee wasn't sure about me because David was a cop always causing trouble for SAMCRO and Jacob was a politician. But now a days I was one of his favorite people. Lee came up and gave me a hug. Donut and Lorca were the next to greet me. Lorca was my big bear. He always protected me at the clubhouse when some of the hang arounds got handsy. "Hi boys. I missed all of you." I said.

Hap threw his arm around my shoulders and we made our way into the clubhouse. Clay and Jax were waiting for us at the bar. "Hap, Kozik says you guys have been taking good care of our girl here?" Clay asks.

Hap laughed, pulling me into his side. "We try. She doesn't always make it easy." He said, causing me to slap his chest. I noticed Jax glaring at Hap. I didn't care. He didn't own me.

"How's Ope doing?" Hap asked me a little while later when we were watching Tig and Koz duke it out in the ring.

I shrugged. "I honestly don't know. He's gone on a walk about right now." I told him.

"Who's watching the kids?"

"Mary. She keeps them on the weekend and I have them during the week." I said.

"Jax keeps glaring at me. Wanna explain?" He said.

"Gemma convinced me to tell him about you and I earlier. So I did. He huff and puffed." I told him.

"Think I should work it out with him. Remind him that he's the reason that you moved to Washington to begin with." Hap asked me.

"Don't start anything. I don't have bail money for either of you." I said, Hap laughed.

Later that night, when Hap and I had enough to drink he followed me on his bike back to Ope's house. When I pulled into Ope's driveway, I couldn't help but wonder how long Hap would be in town for. Just like I could feel my wall come down when I was with him. We made our way inside the house and I grabbed us a couple of beers out of the fridge. Hap and I sat on the couch and drank our beer. "So, you wanna tell me what's been going on?" Hap asked me.

I sighed and my beer bottle on the coffee table. "The first night that I was here, Ope had sent me to the clubhouse to see everyone. Jax cornered me and tried to get me to go home with him. I think he thinks that I was just going to come home and everything would go back to normal. It won't. It can't. I can't go back to being that person for him. I'm not the same person that I was when I left here." I told him.

He wrapped an arm around me and pulled me into his side. "Listen to me. Everything is going to be okay. I'm here now." Hap said.

"I know. I just don't know how long I can stay here. This towns holds so many memories for me. Good and bad."

"I know that."

Hap and I sat there for a few more minutes before I climbed in his lap straddling him. I leaned forward and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around my back pulling me closer. He pulled me as close as he could. The kiss was incredible which it always was. I pulled back smiling at him. I stood up from his lap pulling him with me. "Where are we going?" He smirked at me.

"We are going to bed." I smiled, leading him down the hallway to my bedroom.

"But I'm not sleepy." He said like a kid.

I opened the door to my bedroom. "Who said anything about sleep?" I asked him.
