Chapter 8 It Will Get Better
An's POV
I was in my room when my phone suddenly went off.
I picked it and looked at the caller ID before answering it.
"Hey there, Haruka", I greeted.
"Hello, An", Haruka greeted. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling much better", I replied.
"I'm glad", Haruka said. "Anyway, the reason why I'm calling is because I wanted to ask you if you would be able to watch our livestream at the end of the week?"
"You want me to watch your livestream", I asked in confusion. "How come?"
"You'll see if you watch it", Haruka replied. "So, will you be able to?"
I didn't know why Haruka wanted me to watch her group's livestream, but I didn't see a reason not to.
"Sure", I replied. "I'll watch the livestream."
A Few Days Later
I was in Weekend Garage, watching More More Jump's live stream on my phone with Kohane.
Then, the front door opened, and Akito and Toya walked into the café
"Hello, Azusawa-San and Shiraishi-San", the latter greeted.
"Hello Shinonome-Kun and Aoyagi-Kun", Kohane greeted.
"What you guys watching", Akito asked.
"We're watching More More Jump's livestream", I revealed. "For some reason, Haruka asked me if I could watch it."
"Really", Toya asked. "How come?"
"I don't know", I replied. "So far, they've just done the things they usually do during their livestreams. I don't know why Haruka asked me to watch this one specifically."
With that, I focused my attention back to the livestream.
"Alright everyone", Airi started. "We're reaching the end of our stream, but before we go, there's one last thing that we want to do. Haruka, the floor is yours."
"Thank you, Airi", Haruka said, before looking into a camera. "At the moment, a close friend of mine is going through a hard time."
After Haruka said this, I looked at the screen in shock.
(Is she…talking about me?)
"As an idol, it is my job to bring hope to others, and right now, I think that's something my friend needs", Haruka stated. "I thought about how I can do that, and after thinking about it for a bit…I decided to sing a special song. I hope you all enjoy it."
With this, Haruka began singing. I instantly recognized the song, and gasped in shock.
"What is it, Shiraishi-San", Toya asked.
"This song", I started. "It's the song Haruka auditioned with when she initially became an idol. It's a song…Nagi-San taught her."
With this, I watched until Haruka finished singing.
"I hope you all enjoyed the song", she said when she was done. "And An, if you're watching this, please know that, while things may seem hard right now, tomorrow can always be a better day!"
Haruka's POV
I was learning the studio where we had shot our livestream, and when I got outside…I found a familiar face waiting for me.
"An", I said in confusion. "What are you doing here?"
An didn't answer me. Instead, with tears in her eyes…she ran up to me before tackling me into a hug.
"Haruka", she cried out.
Then, I wrapped my arms around her.
"It's okay, An", I reassured. "It's all going to be okay."
After I said this, I pulled away from An slightly so I could look at her.
"Did the song help", I asked.
"A little bit", An replied. "But…Haruka…it still hurts!"
"I know it does", I said as I pulled An back into a hug. "But it will get better, An. I know it will."
