Chapter 3 Trial. What Can You Do?
Late at night they return from their mission.
Asta, Noelle, Magna and, Finral heads inside where the rest of the black bulls are enjoying themselves.
'Hi Magna how did the mission go?' Luck asks. 'don't ask, I have done more digging then I ever want to do again' Magna respond and sits down in a chair.
'Hey Grey, Gauche and Gordon' he greets a girl with blue hair and eyes covering her face. 'hi Magna oh my gosh' she utter.
'not now I am busy worshiping my sister Mari' the brown haired man says with a purple shirt and west.
'Hello welcome back friends' Gordon mutter barely at a hearing volume.
The rest goes over to Yami who is smoking a cigarette while he reads the paper. 'we are done with the mission sir, what's next' Asta asks.
'what do you mean what is next aren't you exhausted after all that labor?' Finral asks.
Yami raises his eyes looking Asta over and places down the paper next to him and blows smoke...
'What's with the Fur-ball?' he asks, 'didn't he not notice, her this morning?' Finral mentions.
'oh she is a familiar I made a contract with the other day' Asta says with a bright smile.
'is that so' he says and stands up and grabs Astas head and Millie jumps to the floor. 'Who said you could walk around recruiting odd creatures moron?' Yami asks squeezing Astas head. 'ow, no one Captain Yami, Sir' Asta squeals
A tall lady with pink mid back length hair sits up and looks in Astas direction. She smiles with her full lips and her purple eyes shows interest towards Millie as she sees her two tails. The lady is wearing nothing but a red bikini, and a black bulls robe.
'A familiar huh and, a Nekomata no less' she says intrigued. 'they haven't been seen for a really long time, how did you find one?'.
Millie cast a glance in her direction and the lady crosses her legs as she sits up properly and on her shoulder is a red cat.
'I found her while delivering goods to that research center' Asta explains still squealing from the grip around his head.
'so while out on missions you are out recruiting Pets?' Yami squeezes and Asta squeels.
'Wait Vanessa, what does a familiar actually do?' Finral asks.
'Well, whatever you want them too. Familiars like this really are just Servants in the spirit world and, they usually don't have much magic ether. With that said, they are handy to have and, they can be a nice back up during battles' Vanessa explains.
'I see' Finral replies and Yami lets go of Astas head and takes the cigarette out of his mouth .
'They are handy as backup huh? so what can she do?' Yami asks. 'well I don't really know, Sir' Asta replies.
'what you recruit her and ,you don't even know' Yami says. 'well I figured I would find it out as I go' he answers and, Yami looks at Millie in her cat form with a confused expression look on her face.
'how about we have her demonstrate her abilities then?' Yami says and the cat on the floor looks from Yami to Asta. 'that is a great Idea' Asta exclaims. 'you think' Yami adds with irony.
'well I will be happy to see what she is made out of' Magna tells them getting up from the chair forming a flaim in his hand.
'Fine bring her out and let us see' Yami says and the black bulls head to the open field in front, of the house.
They both stand on each side of the field facing each other, Millie transforms into her human form.
'wait she can turn human and, a Seriously Gorgeous one too' Finral says with surprise while blushing.
Vanessa smiles 'that isn't all' she utter.
'keep it in your pants Finral' Noelle tells him. 'what I didn't mean it like that I swear' Finral wheels and Vanessa and Noelle looks at him, not buying it.
(what is the deal with this squad and attracting such beauties, I mean we already have one Royal Beauty, one Hot witch, one super cute and shy girl. And, a Dazzling one that turns into a bird. Come On Finral! You only have eyes for lady Finnes. You can do this fight your curse) his mind is screaming at him self.
Nero flies and lands on Astas head to witness whatever is about to happen.
'I won't go easy on you just because you are a girl' Magna warns her. 'That is alright sir' she utter softly as Magna brings out his grimoar and a flaming baseball bat comes out.
He forms a fireball in his other hand that he leaves up in the air and he makes a stance before he starts to swing a barrage of fire balls in her way and she puts up a shield around herself.
'shield magic huh' Magna utters and she puts the shield down when he stops and he stands there looking at her (shield magic in nature has a strong resistance toward most magics... which means) Magna thinks to himself
He makes a stance and sends another barrage of fire balls and she puts up her shield and once the fireballs vanish she puts it down. 'No!' she jumps high in the air as they explode.
'you actually dodged that, you are quick on your feet, I'd give you that' Magna tells her.
'she must be good at detecting Mana if she dodged that' Finral says.
'huh, why is that?' Asta asks looking at Finral expression of surprise.
'I agree, that attack of Magna is able to catch even the best off guard, but she detected it and dodged it in time' Vanessa adds. 'seriously? that is Way! Awesome!' Asta excites.
'well she is a part of this world spirits so detecting mana should come easy to her... but still, the reflexes to dodge that' Vanessa adds.
Millie lands and, runs towards Magna dodging his blasts as he keeps sending fireballs her way.
As she gets up close she forms a shield in front of her stopping Magnas attack from hitting her while he takes the brunt of his own fire ball 'GAAH!' he lets out.
A second later he is on the ground as she is crouching over him with a transparent blade close to his throat.
'she can change the form of her shield to for a blade, you need exceptional magic control to do something like that' Vanessa says.
Noelle blushes. 'she still wouldn't stand a chance against me' Noelle says and flicks her hair behind her shoulder.
'Then you give it a try next' Yami tells her. 'what?!' Noelle exclaims.
'You said she is no match for you so this should be easy' Yami tells her. 'ofcorse it would I am royalty' she says pointing her nose to the sky.
'all right, she gets to battle you next' Asta says.
Millie and Magna gets up and Magna goes and stands with the rest of the gang 'I don't believe this' he mumbles to himself.
'Haha! Magna is embarrassed' Luck teases. 'shut it lightning boy' Magna snaps back.
They stand opposite side of each other on the field and Noelle takes out her wand 'all right lets do this, water ball' Noelle says, and large water balls forms around her and shoots after Millie that she dodges with ease.
'how come you are holding back so much?' Millie asks softly. 'holding back? this isn't a death match you know' Noelle spits back.
'I believe it was to asses my abilities correct?' Millie asks softly. 'yes I guess so'.
'How can one asses someones abilities if they are holding back' Millie asks,... 'fine but don't come crying to me' Noelle says.
'Sea-dragon,' she says and a huge swirl of water forms behind Noelle and a dragons head are at the front of it looking at Millie. 'Roar!' she yells and the sea-dragon goes straight for Millie and through her.
'what the' Finral exclaims. A second later Millie stands behind Noelle with a dagger made out of magic against her throat.
'how did you' Noelle asks and looks in front of her. 'No way! A shield clone!?' Finral says.
'She was so fast too, oh man I really want to spar with her now' Luck says excited. 'actually I want to take her' Asta says.
Yami looks at Millie (I get the sense she can do way more) 'alright kid, you are up' Yami tells him.
'You really mean it' Asta smiles 'Awesome' he excites and, walks on to the field while Noelle goes and stands with the rest.
'she took me so quickly' Noelle mutters.
Asta and Millie stands on the opposite side of each other.
'Master? what do you wish from me out of this match?' Millie asks. 'what do you mean? You should try and win, I won't be so easy to defeat' he says and the Liebe smiles 'hehehe, he's got that right' he says with a smug grin.
(this guy is exceptionally strong so brute strength is way out. He is fast too and he can pick up on Ki so taking him by surprise is close to impossible and, with his anti-magic powers , my magic is out as well..., I only have one possibility left) she thinks to herself.
'does it matter how I win, master?' she asks. Asta looks at her. 'no not really' he says. 'understood sir' she replies.
She activates her bell and her clothes change and she is standing in a tight tank top and a short black skirt with two black leather plates hanging on each side with needles jabbed into it. Then using her mana her hair gets tied up into a bun that is held in place with a red ribbon and, a black feather.
she breaths and focus for a moment. (I need to time this right and, do this correctly. Anti-magic will be a Big problem if... I must Focus, I am still recuperating so there is no room for slip ups.) she thinks to herself. (while my soul is recovering my magic use should be kept to a minimum)
Liebe on Astas shoulder narrows his eyes at her and, smiles ready to take her on.
Asta keeps his eyes on Millie as he pulls out his grimoar (her Ki is) he blinks and ,she is up close grabbing his grimoar and with one fine touch with mana she sends the grimoar into Liebe who is sent flying into the woods.
Asta looks to the where Liebe went and he gets a punch in his arm, gut and, both thighs and he falls over. She notice his black arm is still working so she gets up behind him and hit the pressure points behind his shoulder blade in stead making the shoulder go a little limp. She is now standing on his back crouching down.
'What the, why can't I move?' he asks as she leans forward forming a blade from her wrist that she places against his throat. 'I cut of your Ki circulation by hitting the correct pressure-points' she explains.
'Wait how is that even possible' Finral asks. 'I have heard of it back in the land of the sun, but it requires some Intense training to be that accurate with their strikes' Yami says blowing smoke. (not many has the discipline to be able to learn it eater) Yami thinks to himself. (And I still get a sense that we have barely scratched the surface of her strengths and abilities)
'seriously' Magna says. 'okey you can get off now' Asta squeals.
'my apologies Master' she says and gets off him and changes into her normal attire.
He looks up and see her crouch down in front of him. 'I apologize if I was too rough with you, Master' she says.
'Are you kidding that was amazing' he tells her with excited eyes and friendly smile which has her slightly flinch but she hides it well. The rest walks up. 'where did you learn to do that' Finral asks.
'I learned it myself through study and training' Millie explains. 'I haven't seen many move the way you do, why did you desire to learn it?' Vanessa asks.
'At the start I only had shield magic used for defense so I learned early on that, I had to be resourceful if I wanted to be of more use on the battlefield. And after learning offensive spells I kept developing ways to be resourceful.' She explains.
Yami smiles with approval 'So you took what you had and made your disadvantage into an advantage' Yami adds. 'correct sir' she says and looks at Asta.
'I can do more,' she utters and holds out her hands 'Life Shield Magic, Shielded Healing' she says and a shield forms around Asta with her mana targeting the right places on his body.
'wait you can heal to' Finral says. 'I can do a lot of things' she tells him.
Millie turns her gaze and sees Liebe in full size walk out of the woods with the grimoar in hand and he looks at Asta on the ground. 'so she got the better of you that quickly' he says not sure what to make of it.
'Yepp, she got me good. I want to learn how to do what she just did' he tells her. 'it will require allot of focus Master. And, if one is not careful, one can stop someones heart from beating in stead' she tells him and Asta swallows nervously. 'really, that sounds bad' he utters.'yes' she replies softly.
She turns her head as she notice that Yami is trying to suss her out. They lock eyes for a moment as Millie has a confused look on her face. And Yami smiles and gives an approving nod.
'Man, how did you move that fast' Asta asks Millie opens her mouth.
'All right gang, I think we have seen enough' Yami says. 'yes it is time for supper!' Charmy says out loud!
Asta smiles as the rest are heading inside and a moment later he gets up. 'Now that she mentions it, I haven't eaten since lunch' Asta says and gets up.
'yeh I am hungry too' Liebe tells him and walks by Asta. 'that will make the food taste that much better' Asta exclaims.
'Oh eh...' he utters and Liebe turns to him and Asta looks around them 'where did Millie go? I thought she was going eat with us' Asta says.
Liebe sighs 'She probably went to do something' Liebe says. 'yeah but. wouldn't it be better to eat with the rest of us' he asks. 'beats me' Liebe says...
Asta follows Liebe... 'how did you let her get the drop on you anyways?' he asks. 'well I am not really sure' Asta says.
'I don't like it' Liebe says entering the base. (I don't like it one bit) he thinks to himself.
Note: I am aware that Millie winning might be unpopular as Asta and Noelle is way awesome, how ever since Millie is over 200 years old and reguearding her past it makes sense, so if you are patient with the series you will see the reason as to why.
