Chapter 4 part 3 Hope
'Master Asta what do you need' Millie's soft voice asks and they all look in front of them and sees Millie in her cat form standing there. 'Wow that was way fast' Asta says.
'Hang on. If you are so damned terrible with directions then how are you finding us so quickly' Liebe asks her. 'because of the contract, I have shared a piece of my soul with Asta so now I can find him anywhere by sensing his soul' Millie explains.
'My what?' Asta utter, 'From wherever' Liebe mentions.
'okey I guess that makes sense' Asta says 'so how do I use the contract to call for her?'.
'You should be able to reach your soul out to me and utter obey me' Millie explains. 'uh... and, how do I do that' Asta asks rubbing the back of his neck.
'if you can sense Ki you should be able to dive further and sense me and connect to me that way' Millie explains.
'deeper, further... But! I still don't understand' he exclaims and Millie blinks.
'I am confused, which part of it do you not understand', sir? Millie asks.
'Uh pretty much all of it' he tells her. 'what? I am confused' Millie utter and they both look at each other confused.
(watching them, is like they share a brain cell, I didn't know it was possible but) Liebe thinks to himself.
'is there any other way to put it?' Vanessa asks.
'well...' Millie thinks it over and looks at Liebe. 'It should be possible if Liebe did it in your stead' Millie tells him.
'Uh what? How? why?' he asks.
'well I was not aware of this before it showed up after we signed the contract but' Millie says and rubs her bell and the book of contract appears and she hover it up for Asta and Liebe to see.
'Because of the nature of an equal contract like you have you both have equal share over me' Millie tells them and Liebe is about to loose his bite of food looking at the page.
'Seriously? Wait how come you weren't aware of it? I mean shouldn't you know everything about this' Vanessa asks.
'I only know what I have been thought. And I believe no one has bumped into a situation like ours yet, to learn it' Millie says.
'The point is, Liebe can also call on me using the contract' Millie explains.
'and how do you expect me to do that without mana or Ki?' Liebe asks.
'well if you have ever tried to possess someone then it is kind of like that, you reach out to me and say the phrase' Millie tells him.
'Huh' Liebe utter.
Asta reads the page 'what does this mean? Words of yielding?' he asks.
'the following words under is what I yield to once they are uttered by you or Liebe' she explains.
Liebe leans in and looks at the words. 'so if I say the word Wait it-'
A red cahin forms Millies bell and it pulls her head closer to the ground. 'This happens' Millie says. 'seriously' Asta utter and sees the next phrases of yielding are Stop and-..
Millies eyes glow for a second
BANG!
'an explosion, it came from over there' Vanessa utter. And Asta is gone.
'get back here!' some men yell. Asta and the rest are on their feet to catch the guy.
While Millie still sits on the ground waiting.
'Slayer and black divider!' he yells and his anti magic sword extends its reach and goes right through the mans sand magic nullifying it, the man is forced into the wall. And Vanessa runs after them.
The man in Astas grasp falls together into sand. 'what the eh, there' he says and runs and swings his sword through the air.
'what are you doing uh?' Vanessa stops and sees the man get knocked out of his own spell and falls to the ground as well as his huge bag full of loot.
'Woah you got him already' Tory yell as he and Alisa flies up to them. 'oh it is you guys again' Asta says 'yes sorry we didn't get here sooner but we had gotten a tip from someone that they had seen this guy and we flew right over her to tell you guys, but it seems you have already taken care of it' Tory says. 'yes well, thanks anyways' Asta says.
'this is quite a hall you got' Vanessa says and ties the man up with her threads.
'man, how did you track and find me' the man asks. 'because Ki is awesome' Asta cheer.
'something tells me that you were already aware of our presence here' Vanessa tells the man who grit his teeth.
'wait seriously?' Asta asks.
'I guess he has been getting used to slipping away easily, which made you too cocky and did your heist anyways, which is lucky for us but unfortunate for you' Vanessa adds with a smile.
(the witch has very good mana control, which is necessary due to the nature of her magic, but I would like to se the mana work from the cat on her shoulder) Millie thinks to herself walking up to the gang.
'you guys are way to fast' Alisa says.
'look at all of this loot though, it won't be easy to get all of it back to HQ, so they can sort them to their rightful owners' Vanessa says.
'you can leave that to us, delivery is kind of our thing' the two teens says.
'Thanks a lot guys' Asta says.
They use big fabric which they tie with rope that they tie to each of their brooms before heading to the noble realm at HQ and hands the man over to jail.
Once they are done they head out of the building and they look at the two teens helping them. 'thanks again you guys you were a big help' Asta says.
'well just make sure to visit once I get the cafe up and running' Alisa says. 'that is all you are thinking about?' Tory asks. 'well it is important to get costumers too you know' Alisa defends. 'we will' Asta says with a smile.
'Hey I said let go' they hear a grumpy voice say. 'yeh, and we told you that this is only for magic knights, so your questions will have to wait' a bug man says tossing the kids grimoar to him that he catches. His hair is grey with purple line running through it, and he wears a baggy sweater and pants.
'Oh it is Haze, Hey over here!' Alisa yells. 'oh it is you two, what are you guys doing here?' the teen asks. 'well we were helping these guys out' she replies gesturing Asta and Vanessa. 'hello, I'm Asta' he greets with a friendly smile. 'right...' Haze utter looking at them.
'I thought you guys already had a route you stuck to' Haze asks. 'yes but the route can be changed on occasion' Alisa says.
'hey don't just ignore me' Asta tells him. 'sorry I feel like it' Haze says not even meeting Astas eyes. 'wha-ah' Asta utter. 'now that is just being rude' he says
'anyways since the two of yo are here, would you mind delivering this to my older sister for me?' he asks. And hands her a small box. 'I can, sure I will do it first thing tomorrow' Alisa says with a smile. 'could you maybe be able to deliver it today?' he asks.
'what? You want a same day delivery this late in the day?' Tory asks. 'well I' . 'Fine but it will cost you double, remember we still have things to do and a goal to reach mister' Alisa says.
'fine, mother would be pissed if I delayed this any longer anyways' Haze says.
'Alisa are you sure? it is starting to become pretty late' he tells her. 'well my brother will probably have me cleaning poop in the pig pen for the next week for this, but this is a good opportunity to put extra money into the piggy-bank' she says.
'fine then I will come to, since you are so set on this' he tells her.
'Thank you so much Tory I knew I could count on you' she says.
'please don't thank me, your brother would have my head if I let you take the journey on your own, especially this late' he says.
(my I get the sense that this kid likes this girl more than he'd like to admit) Vanessa wonders with a smile.
'well it was nice meeting you Asta and Vanessa ' Alisa says. 'yeh you to, take care' Asta says with a bright smile waving the teens goodbye.
'tsk' he hears and his eyes goes to Haze who walks off. 'what is it with him?' Asta asks and Liebe shrugs his shoulders.
'well that sure was easier than I thought' Vanessa says and stretching her hands to the sky.
'it sure was' Asta exclaim 'time to head back' he smiles.
'or we could stick around a little' Vanessa says.
'I guess we could do that, what do you think Nero' he asks.
Nero then proceeds to fly oand lands on the ground, transforming into her human form. 'sure' she says.
'great okey' he says and looks at Liebe on his shoulder. 'why not' he says with a grin.
'and' Asta utters and looks around himself.
'where did she go, did we loose her again' he says. 'She is up there' Liebe says and Asta sees where he is pointing and he sees Millie standing on a rooftop looking at the star filled sky.
'Hey Millie get down here!' he yells. And she is snapped out of her thoughts and jumps down to him. 'yes master' she says.
'Do you want to walk around town with us' he asks. 'I am confused uh... yes' she says. 'confused' Asta utter.
'Great then we are off' Vanessa says and takes an arm around Nero and Asta and bring them along into town.
They look at shops and chat and have a great time and Millie walks a step behind watching their interactions.
(they sure seem to be having a lot of fun together, their friendship has such kind... warmth to it. I noticed that to be true for all the black bulls) she thinks to herself as her hand holds around her brooch while remembering the boy with messy hazel brown hair and eyes.
Flashback
(It was late that day, we were looking at Mozo village 'I see then you will out-live me by a big margin' he said and looked at me his eyes so certain and warm and I remember his words to me that day. '...So Millie...' .
'yes Master Meir what is it' ... 'I want you to give me your word...' , 'ofcorse anything' I said hanging on to every word. 'Give me your word that no matter how rough things get, that you-'
Pop! 'Ahaaa this is great' Vanessa says opening a bottle and Millie looks at them.
'Eh Vanessa should you really be drinking right now' Asta asks. 'oh loosen up a little. We deliver the guy and gave our report, besides How often do we even do this lately' she giggles and takes a arm around his shoulders and drags him and Nero along.
(Meir I will do as I promised, no matter how hard it gets or how far away from me you become) she thinks to herself and looks at the starts sparkling in the sky...
'Okey lets go' Asta says and Millie follows the group of friends.
'This way, haha in here' Vanessa giggles and heads through a door to a cafe.
'Hey Millie are you coming' Asta asks and she flinch when he reaches out his hand to her. she looks at his it and at his friendly and kind eyes.
(Why is he constantly being so nice to me? No, I-I know why, so stop it) she tells her heart and shakes her head to get rid of the unease.
'Yes Master' she says with a warm smile and neatly bows as she walks through the door that he is keeps open.
'uuuh?' he lets out confused.
'Hey Asta there are seats over here' Vanessa waves at him and sits down next to Nero.
'oh coming' he tells her and heads inside. 'this place got some great snacks' she says as Asta takes a seat.
'all right, but we just ate' Asta says and looks next to himself. 'uh where did Millie go' he asks. 'uh sir your menue' the waiter tells him. 'oh thanks' he says.
'I know we just ate but these are too good to be without. And they just re-opened the shop again after everything that has happened' Vanessa says. 'oh I see so that is why you
wanted us to go here' he says and Vanessa smiles.
'Eh Liebe do you want some' he asks and Liebe appears on his shoulder, 'you don't think there is a bit too many people here right now' Liebe asks. 'oh I forgot people aren't completely used to you yet' Asta says.
'but the more exposure they get to you the easier it will be to convince them that you aren't a bad guy' Asta says.
'Urgh, not right now, besides we just ate and I am not hungry' Liebe tells him. 'are you sure Asta asks
'yes, I'm sure, we are all full after earlier' Liebe tells him. 'well alright' Asta says and stops pushing the issue and shifts his attention to the menue.
Under his chair lays Millie in her cat form and she feels her stomach twist on her (I only managed to kill my dinner nothing more) Millie thinks to her self (I do have dried rabbit meat if it gets bad) she remembers.
She survey the room and, she mostly just see shoes and the bottom of table cloths (it smells so good in here...) her ear twitch as she hears a gentleman's voice.
'yes I am telling you I was out there myself, the magic was really bizarre over there in the village in the far north' the man says.
'well that is strange for magic to take shape and come down from the mountain like that' another voice replies.
'yes it was just the most dreadful magic I assure you, we just had to leave our Villa. I am glad we can stay in our home in the capital when such things happens' a Lady says.
'I agree let them have at it until the'. 'The bill sirs' she hears the server tells them and she hears the men pay and leaves. Millie grits her teeth for a moment.
( I need to hurry and heal my soul, before this get worse ) she thinks to herself and pulls her body closer as she lays down in a circle trying to rest.
