Chapter 8 part 1. Competition.
'all right gang are you ready' Asta asks. 'Heck yeah we will get this party started' Magna says getting excited.
'The guys sure are pumped about this, let us show them' Vanessa says. 'sure' Nero adds. 'I suppose we can't let them get to far ahead of us' Noelle blushes.
'We better do our best then right' ' Finral utter nervously.
'Oh! the more we catch the more we get to eat once the competition is over' Charmy says.
'So, the contestants get to keep whatever they catch? how nice' grey fusses.
'Heck yeah!' Charmy exclaims as Vanessa watches them all.
'The response is varied but good enough' she says and they all turn their gaze to the shore.
It gets quiet... all the boats are on the water and their crews are waiting in anticipation...BANG!
'And we are off' Yami yells and everyone throws out their line.
The fishing co menses and the intensity of something one can almost touch on
'Ey! I got one' Asta says proudly. 'yeah me too!' Magna exitedly exclaim and holds puts the fish into their bucket.
And Yami pulls up two in one. 'oh that is way awesome Yami' Asta excitedly states.
'if we keep going like this we will win no problem' Luck says. 'oh Mari how I miss you' they hear and looks at Goach who is sitting there looking at a picture of his sister.
'he is not gonna help us... is he?' Magna says. 'nope doesn't look like it' Luck says and throws out his line.
'hu, hey listen up you sister loving weirdo, throw out the line and be a part of the competition or else' Yami threatens with a death glare and Goach gulps. 'Fine' Goach reluctantly states and gets to fishing.
Gordon fishes while mumbling to himself the whole time.
Asta looks at his friends doing their best and smiles.
'Liebe are you getting anything' Asta asks. 'I eh huh' he utters as he gets a bite and he pulls it up. 'hey you've got one cool' Asta says proudly and Liebe slightly blushes.
With the girls they have caught a few fish already. 'it sucks that I can't use magic fishing with a rod is so slow compared to a net' Charmy complains.
But she stands up again 'no it won't matter I will get the price of food in the end' she exclaims as her intensity builds.
'charmy is really into this' Noelle says. 'yeah which means we might make it' Vanessa utters.
'Millie are you getting any' Vanessa asks. 'not yet Ma'am' Millie utters and looks at the scenery.
'how about you Finral' , 'Nothing yet Vanessa' he says while blushing.
Millie sees Stanty a few boats away and she gaze upon the sea. (I was so open, why is that? I was surprisingly open with Aurora, more so then I expected... why do I feel this way?) she looks at everyone fishing and enjoying themselves.
'Aw yeah!' they hear from the guys boat. 'oh you actually got something Magna' Asta cheers as Magna pulls it up. 'eh seaweed again what happened there were a lot of fishes around here earlier' Magna says. 'who knows' Asta says.
'Actually I think their intensity to win is what is driving the fish away' Vanessa says. 'it sure seems that way' Noelle adds with comedic indifference seeing the guys intense focus on the water.
A Hazel brown haired boy comes to Millies mind seeing Asta and she touches her broach.
(the first few masters I had were nothing to be writing to anyone about, and I even forced my way out of their contracts once I was done with their vulgar ways... but you Meir, if it weren't for you I would have a very different view of humans as a whole, thanks to you I know there are many different kinds of humans...) she thinks to herself as memories started to flow.
(I was near Mozo Village, the sun was going down in the horizon. I drank water from the river in my cat form and lost I looked around and I walked over to the bridge and I transformed into my human form and I looked into the water where I saw my reflection 'what do I do?' I wondered out loud and were about to take out my wings when.
'I saw that how cool you can transform' A guy stated and I looked to him and he ran up to me with his sister in toe. 'Oh sorry I didn't mean to startle you, my name is Meir, and this is my sister Merissy. we saw you transform and I got a little excited, um, nice to meet you eh?'
'Millie Millenty sir, if you don't mind I am off' I said as I was about to give up on humans as a whole...
'oh, but first, could you show me how you did that?' he asked. 'transformed you mean?' I asked.
'yeah, it looked so cool' he said.
'well it isn't exactly a spell it is just what I can do since I am a familiar' I replied. 'oh cool, I have heard of those say, why don't you come for dinner?' he asked so bluntly.
'I uh...' , (if he asks me to be his familiar I might...)
'you see the town chief has his 60th birthday today, and there will be a big calibration and the more the merrier' he said excited and I thought it over and I accepted his invite and I met with the towns people as they held the celebration outside around a big camp fire.
He never asked me to form a contract with me. He invited me to stay if I felt tired and I accepted and the next day they were about to head out to collect herbs for their grandmother and I asked if I could tag along, and if I could... help out.
Even during the whole day the question I was waiting for never came and once the sun went down and the crescent moon climbed to the sky as we were headed back and I stopped by the bridge and so his sister and him stopped and looked at me in response.
'something the matter Millie?' he asked. (this boy was kind, he was fun, he was considerate and humble and yet a little bit silly at times) 'Meir, I want to ask if you would do me the honor of making a contract with me?' I asked..
'I uh' he uttered a little hesitant. And he asked me the reason for my question and I told him that I believed that he would be a good fit since be both want to and does whatever we can in order to help out wherever we can and so he accepted me.
The contract with him was so much more like a strong friendship that we kindled over time. And we managed to defend the village from bandits and we did smal missions that people asked of us.
That Human... with that Boy my life changed... our bond became really strong after bringing happy moments, sad moments and even dangers moments together. And because of our strong bond I grew stronger much faster and I even learned to change the form of my shield spells creating new spells and I could feel my soul strengthening from this warm feeling and strong bond.
I was with him for a whole year and we had a lot of fun helping our friends in the village.
We were out collecting herbs where I told him the importance of me improving if I am to live to my tail splitting and, I told him how grateful I was for him taking me in.
We stopped as we were overlooking the village when he turned to me 'I see... then Millie you will outlast me so I want you to give me your word' he uttered.
I made the promise to him that I intend to keep no matter what.. It was a year filled with so much joy I might as well have been in paradise...
But then came that fateful day when my life would drastically change...
WISTLE SOUND!
'all right everyone time is up' the announcer yells and Millie looks behind her. 'hey we actually got a good haul. It must give us a good standing' Vanessa utters.
'I am not to sure about that' Nero states. 'huh how come?' and Nero points to another boat. 'my goodness their boat is barely floating from the amount of fish they got' Vanessa says 'you are right. Is that even safe!' Noelle says.
'well they said they tallied points based on size, so maybe we still have some shot, besides if we do really well in the other competitions we might still win this'
'you are right Vanessa' Noelle says and looks to the guys boat where they have barely caught anything...
