Hello everyone and welcome to Chapter 2. Slow build up yeah yeah but just you wait. Each chapter will slowly start to get bigger most likely. I hope to be able to post decent size chapters for you all to read soon. I wrote a lot and I have decided to break it up into smaller parts for now. Enjoy.

Chapter 2

*Hokage's Office*

Hiruzen Sarutobi still has his face on the desk when a bright light engulfs the room. Shortly after the light fades away he looks up and can't believe his eyes.

Smiling brightly Kushina looks around, "Looks like we are back Mina-kun."

"Seems so Kushi-chan." Minato then looks towards Sarutobi. "Hello Lord Third, it has been a while."

Still not believing in what he is seeing, Sarutobi walks over to the both of them and gives them a hug.

"Minato-kun and Kushina-chan. It is so great to see you again. I didn't fully believe the Shinigami when he told me that he was going to bring you to back. I honestly thought he was just trying to give me a heart attack."

Both Minato and Kushina chuckle lightly and return the hug. After a few seconds they break apart and Sarutobi moves to sit in his chair behind his desk. Minato and Kushina sit down in the chairs in front of the desk.

"I am so glad to have you both back. However I have no clue as to why. Care to fill me in?"

Minato nods, "You see Lord Third, the Shinigami has tasked us with bringing four specific souls to him. I will not name who for now. As long as we can bring him these four souls within a five year time frame he will allow us to live freely as if we never died to begin with. We have no restrictions either. We are back to stay."

Taking a puff off of his pipe, Sarutobi nods. "Very well I will not question either of you further on this. I swear if the Shinigami didn't come here to warn me I would have died right here with a heart attack. Now before anything else I know you two must have many questions. Please ask away I will not hide anything from you no matter how good or bad it may be."

Without saying anything Kushina stands up and slams her hands on his desk splintering it. "Where is Naruto? The Shinigami said he hasn't had a good life at all. I want to know why. I want to know everything, and I want to KNOW NOW!" As she keeps talking a red aura starts to surround her, and her hair starts to split into nine different strands floating behind her.

Gulping and starting to sweat furiously Sarutobi raises his hands in the air, "Please Kushina-chan calm down I will explain everything but you must calm down and relax so I can without fearing for my life."

Kushina calms down a bit but grabs him by the collar and pulls his face up to hers, "You better not leave out anything or your ass is mine."

Nodding furiously Sarutobi is thrown back into his chair. Coughing slightly he turns to face Minato, "Anything you want to add Minato-kun before I continue."

Minato looks him dead in the eyes, "Answer the questions Lord Third. There is nothing I want to add. Just know that I agree with Kushina here. I know what I did wasn't the best thing to do as a father. But I will be damned if I let my son suffer when I can stop it."

Kushina looks at Minato, smiles and sits back down. Sarutobi coughs into his hand, "Okay to start with Naruto is out on a mission with his team at the moment. He has been gone for roughly two weeks. He will be returning today at any minute. I can have him brought here the moment he returns if you two would like."

Kushina was about to say something but stopped when Minato put a hand on her shoulder. He turns to look at the Hokage, "Yes Lord Third please have him brought here immediately. And for now let it be just him. I don't want everyone to know that we are back just yet."

"Very well Minato-kun I will do just that." Sarutobi then pulses his chakra calling for a specific ANBU to arrive. When the ANBU arrives they almost jump out of their skin when they see Minato and Kushina sitting in the office. "Neko calm down and relax. I know it must be shocking, but I need you for a very important task." After a few seconds to regain their composure Neko relaxes and kneels in front of the Hokage.

"What is it you need Hokage-sama."

"Neko you are to wait at the gate with your team for team seven to return. They should be here shortly. Once they arrive you are to bring Naruto Uzumaki to my office immediately. No one else is to come. Inform Kakashi that I will call for him later for a mission report."

"Yes Hokage-sama." Neko then vanishes and proceeds to the main gate with her team.

"Now that is being taken care of allow me to continue. Yes you heard correctly, Kakashi is Naruto-kun's Sensei. As for why he hasn't had a good life I can explain, but before I begin I must apologize to the both of you. You see in all honesty I could've done more for Naruto-kun when he was growing up, but I didn't. I don't remember my exact reasoning's behind my actions, but I will own up to all of them."

Taking a deep breath, Kushina looks at Sarutobi, and without breaking eye contact, "You better start explaining then."

"Naruto is not liked by the village. There are about a handful of people that actually care for him. I am just going to be blunt here. Naruto was kicked out of the orphanage at five years old. He was beaten and abused just about every other day by the villagers and some shinobi. He has had multiple assassination attempts. That is just a small portion of what all he has been through."

Hearing this both Minato and Kushina's heads hang low to where their eyes are covered. All of a sudden an enormous amount of KI (Killing Intent) is released sending Sarutobi to the ground sweating profusely. It also leaks out into the village and a hefty amount of civilians and shinobi alike pass out on the spot. Before he realized it Sarutobi had a hand around his neck raising him off the ground. When he looked he saw Minato holding him by the throat. He also noticed chains behind Minato pointing at him ready to attack at a seconds notice. That is when he noticed an extremely pissed Kushina looking at him as well.

Bearing his gaze through Sarutobi's head, "You better be lying Sarutobi."

Struggling to get the words out Sarutobi simply shakes his head, "I'm sorry but I am not lying."

Closing his eyes Minato tries to calm himself down. He then feels a hand on his shoulder and turns to look at Kushina. He notices tears coming down her face and her left hand gripping her right arm. "Minato we must let him finish before we do anything." He can hear in her voice just how hard she is struggling with holding her anger. He turns back to look at Sarutobi and releases him. Sarutobi falls to the ground again and coughs trying to catch his breath.

"Even though I don't want to hear anymore about this already I must know. What all did you do to stop this Sarutobi. Your answer better be good this time or I don't think I could stop Kushina even if I wanted to."

Kushina refuses to speak at the moment. She is trying her best not to loose it.

"I was able to stop a decent amount of the beatings and the abuse. However even with me and my ANBU we were not able to stop all of it. I am afraid he still received double of what were able to stop at the minimum."

Closing his eyes to keep calm Minato says without opening his eyes, "What of Jiraiya? Or Tsunade? They both or Naruto's Godparents. Are they not around? Were they not watching him? I want to know the truth."

Standing back up Sarutobi sighs, "Shortly after the attack 13 years ago Tsunade left the village. She has been wondering around drinking and gambling like no tomorrow. As for Jiraiya I tried to get him to stay and watch over Naruto, but he refused and went to work on his spy network. I have tried to get them both to come back to watch over Naruto but neither have stepped foot in the village since that day."

Tears streaming down her face, Kushina falls to her knees, "They promised us that they would watch over Naruto if anything did happen. The moment that we are gone they decide to leave to do their own thing and leave my Sochi all alone to suffer." At this point she couldn't bear it anymore. She screamed and cried. Minato quickly knelt down and engulfed her with a hug.

"It will be alright Kushi-chan. We are here now. Naruto doesn't have to worry about anything anymore."

Sarutobi stayed quiet and took his seat once more while Minato and Kushina were letting their feelings out. 'I am sorry you two. I have failed greatly. Jiraiya you waited to dam long and look. I highly doubt that they will forgive you. Same for you Tsunade. Hell I doubt they forgive me.' He looks back at them and frowns.

After a few minutes Kushina calms down and looks up straight at Minato. "Minato we can't stay here."

Looking down at Kushina, Minato smiled and brushed the hair out of her face. "I agree with you. We must leave. This is no place for us after all."

Overhearing their little small talk Sarutobi speaks up, "You two are leaving?"

Minato and Kushina both without moving from their position, look at Sarutobi. Kushina speaks up, "Not the two of us. As soon as I see my sochi we are all leaving. We cannot stay in Konoha. I will not allow my Sochi to suffer anymore."

Minato nods his head, "I agree as well. This is no place for us. I put our hope in the village, and a few select people and you all have failed. We were tempted to leave before I made Hokage. I wasn't treated the best growing up as an orphan here and Kushina had it bad as well. As soon as Naruto gets here we are gone."

Sarutobi simply sighs and nods his head. "As much as I want to fight and argue that you all should stay here I have no right. It is your decision. If Naruto agrees to go with you then I will not try to stop you by no means. I will set it up so that Naruto is allowed to leave with no repercussions so that he won't be labeled as a nuke-nin."

Nodding his head once more, "Good. Glad we can all agree on that. I do have one more question though."

Sarutobi motions for him to continue.

"Does Naruto even know about us? Have you told him about us?" Hearing this Kushina sends a glare towards the old kage.

Sighing once more, "No I haven't told him about either of you. He asked several times, but I never budged on it. I was trying to protect him. Foolish I know. He was about seven years old when he stopped asking about you two though. Thinking back on it he changed a lot when he was seven. I asked him about it but he wouldn't tell me. The only thing he would tell me is that he made a new friend. When I asked him about this friend he also told me that he will not talk about him. Once I realized he wouldn't budge on the subject I left it alone."

Kushina starts to get happy eternally. 'Kurama were you finally able to get through to my Sochi? I really hope so.'

Minato, "Alright then we will have to deal with that once he gets here then. I think we have all talked enough. Lets just wait patiently for Naruto to arrive.

*With Team Seven*

"Kakashi-sensei how much longer before we get back?"

Without looking up from his orange book, "We will arrive back at the village any minute now Naruto. Now stop asking."

Before Naruto could retort, he was interrupted by a screech. "YEAH Naruto-baka learn to shut up once in a while!"

"Yeah dobe just shut up for once. Or am I going to have to make you shut up?" Sasuke deciding to speak up.

Hanging his head down, "I was just curious. I only asked once guys."

'Don't pay them any attention kit.'

Naruto smiles softly, 'Hey Kurama. Glad to hear that your awake finally. These two have been a pain for a while now, and Kakashi-sensei ignores them but will correct me if I do or say anything.'

Kurama lifts his head from the ground and looks up, 'Kit like I said before just ignore them. They are no good for you and will use you in any way possible. Do I need to remind you of what happened on the bridge?'

Loosing his smile, naruto shakes his head. 'No you don't need to remind me. I just want to get back to Konoha as soon as I can. I want to go see mom and dad's grave before I do anything else.'

Hearing this Kurama sends out his chakra to comfort Naruto. 'Listen Kit they would be proud of you. Especially for what you did on this mission. You saved a country. Not just anyone can say they did that.'

'I know Kurama, but I didn't do it alone either. I do not deserve all the praise for it.' Naruto shakes his head once more and looks up to see the gates of Konoha coming into view. 'Looks like we are back Kurama.'

Laying his head down once more, 'Indeed Kit. I am going to rest a little longer, but I will be listening out. If you need me just call out to me.'

Smiling now, 'Thank you for being my best friend Kurama.' Kurama smiles at hearing this but doesn't say anything else.

Just as team seven approaches the gate they are intercepted by a team of ANBU.

"Team seven stop right there."

Looking up from his book, Kakashi greets the ANBU. "Ah hello Neko. What brings you out here?"

Neko looks directly at Kakashi, "Me and my team were sent here to await your arrival. We are to take Naruto Uzumaki to the Hokage's office immediately. Only he is allowed to go. Kakashi, the Hokage said he will call you at a later time for your mission report. The rest of my team will escort you to your homes. Naruto would you please come with me."

Kakashi nods and turns towards his team, "You heard the ANBU. Naruto go with Neko to meet the Hokage. Sakura you may head home for the day if you would like. Sasuke you can come with me its about time I taught you some a new jutsu."

Everyone all of a sudden had to cover their ears, "Naruto-baka got in trouble again. I swear you are the stupidest ninja of all." She turns to look at Sasuke. "Isn't that right Sasuke-kun?"

Sasuke looks over at Naruto, "You don't deserve to be a ninja dobe. You always fuck everything up."

Kakashi claps his hands, "Now, now everyone lets calm down. Naruto just go with Neko and we can discuss everything later." As he said this the rest of team seven walked away.

Naruto watching them walk away, turns and looks at Neko. "They do realize I didn't say anything right?"

Neko shakes her head, "Just leave them be Naruto-kun. Come now we must go see the Hokage."

Nodding his head Naruto follows Neko through Konoha. As soon as he walks through the gate, Kurama jolts up. 'This cannot be. I recognize these two chakra signatures.'

Sensing that Kurama is up and searching for something, 'Hey Kurama what gives you ok?'

Kurama starts to laugh and laugh. Hearing Kurama laughing, Naruto sweat drops. 'Mind telling me what's so funny?'

Wiping away some tears from his eyes, 'Kit if what I am sensing is true. Your whole life got better. Your whole world got better. You will see soon. I don't even know what to say about this.'

Now utterly confused Naruto rubs his head, 'Well what are you sensing then?'

Smiling a big toothy smile, 'I am not going to ruin this. All I will say is the Shinigami and Kami love you kit.' After he said that he cut the connection.

'Hmm I wonder what Kurama is talking about. Maybe it has to do with why I am being taken to see Jiji.'

After a few minutes of walking they arrive at the Hokage's tower. They proceed into the building and walk up the stairs. Little did Naruto know that the two guests in the Hokage's office recognized his chakra signature the moment he walked into the building. Kurama made sure of that. Once they made it to the door, Neko couldn't knock fast enough. The door slammed open and golden chains shot out and wrapped up Naruto and pulled him into the office. As soon as he was pulled in the chains disappeared, and Naruto found himself in a soft and warm hug.

"OH MY SOCHI!" Kushina screams and starts to cry again as she hugs Naruto.

Naruto pulls away from the hug to see just who it is that is holding him, and he nearly looses it. 'Kit this is why I didn't say anything. I felt them the moment we went through the gate.' Kurama begins but quickly realizes Naruto isn't paying him any attention. He then quickly decides to work in overtime on Naruto's healing factor to try to prevent Naruto from passing out.

Naruto just stares at Kushina and his mouth slowly starts to open, but nothing comes out.

Still with tears coming down Kushina smiles and looks at her son. "Oh Naruto don't you know who I am?"

Naruto then looks behind her as someone places a hand on Kushina's shoulder. Minato smiles brightly and even he couldn't stop some tears to fall. "What about me naruto? Do you know who I am?"

Without saying anything Naruto just nods dumbly. Sarutobi smiles at seeing this and refuses to move or say anything. He just sits back and watches the scene unfold. After about a minute, without looking away, Naruto starts crying. The next thing Minato and Kushina knew they were tackled into a bone crushing hug with Naruto wailing.

"Of course I know who you two are. Kaa-san and Tous-san."

The now reunited family stays in the hug for a few moments so that they can release all their tears for now and to recollect themselves before continuing. After some time they all separate except for Naruto. He refused to let go of Kushina, and Kushina refused to let go of him.

Smiling at the family Sarutobi decides to break the silence, "Glad to see your back Naruto-kun. I see you Knew about your parents all along."

Turning to look at Sarutobi, "Yeah I knew. My friend told me everything." He then looks back at his parents. "How?"

Kushina looks at him in the eyes, "Don't worry about how for now Sochi. We will explain later. Just know we are back for good." She brings him closer once again. "We will never leave you again either. We promise you."

Naruto then looks towards his father. Minato reaches out and ruffles his hair, "That's right Naruto. We are back to stay. We are sorry we left you to begin with. One of us should've been here for you."

Shaking his head Naruto looks his father in the eyes, "You don't have to worry about anything. You don't have to apologize either. My friend explained everything to me a while back."

Smiling at this Minato looks towards Sarutobi, "Lord Third we are leaving for now. We will be back shortly." Before Sarutobi could respond Minato placed his hand on Kushina's shoulder and they all disappeared with a flash.

Sighing to himself and taking another puff off of his pipe. "Looks like I need to go ahead and set the paperwork up for them to leave with Naruto. I am sure they will be gone before the day is over with."

*Top of the Hokage Monument*

Minato, Kushina, and naruto arrive at the top of the Hokage Monument, and it surprises Naruto.

Recognizing that look Minato chuckles, "Don't worry Naruto it happens to everyone for their first time at least."

Shaking his head lightly Naruto smiles, "I have got to learn that. That is so cool."

Minato chuckles again, "Of course Naruto I will gladly teach you. I will teach you as much as I can."

Kushina decides to jump in, "Hey what about me?"

Naruto responds by giving her another hug, "I want to learn from the both of you. But I mainly want to spend time with you."

Kushina returns the hug and smiles, "We will teach you everything Sochi. Now out of curiosity how are you holding up? You just meet us out of the blue. I thought you might have passed out on us."

Before Naruto could say anything he was interrupted. 'Kit I have helped you. I have been focusing my chakra towards your healing factor to help you stay conscious. Oh and you don't have to hide me around them.' After informing Naruto to what he was doing Kurama decided that he could stop and take a quick nap.

Smiling and nodding his head Naruto separates from Kushina, "Kurama said he was making it so that my mind could handle all this without having me pass out."

Kushina lets out a sigh of relief, "I am so glad you were you there for him Kurama. Especially since no one else was." Hearing this Naruto looks at her confused.

Minato decides to speak up, "Lord Third gave us a very short but blunt description of how your life has been growing up. Now we don't know everything but we want to. We wont make you tell us. However we did come to a decision, and we will let you decide." Kushina walks over to Minato and stands beside him.

Naruto looks back and forth between them, and tears start to form once more. "What is it? You just said that you weren't going to leave me again. Please don't go."

Both Kushina and Minato shake their head. "Naruto like me and your mother told you we aren't going anywhere again. You don't have to worry about that. No what we decided on is that we want to take you and leave Konoha. But if you want to stay we will."

Naruto couldn't believe what he heard. He finally has the chance to leave his hell and its with his parents no less. Before he knew it the tears that started to form came rushing out once more.

Kushina walks up to him and kneels down and puts her hand on his shoulder. "We won't make you leave if you don't want to. We have a very good friend that will gladly accept us and you if we leave."

After rubbing all the tears away, Naruto looks back up at his mother. "I'm not crying because I want to stay or anything like that. Me and Kurama made a plan to leave soon anyway. I can't take it here anymore. Please lets go and as soon as we can. But what about you two? Aren't there friends here that you want to see again?"

Minato shakes his head, "All of our supposed friends here betrayed us Naruto. We can go into details later. Me and Kushina didn't have the best life growing up here either. As much as I love Konoha I hate what it has become even more. We would've left if I didn't become the Hokage before. Looking back I regret taking the position."

Kushina nods, "Even though it was my dream to become Hokage I knew it never was going to happen. The village didn't love me. Hardly anyone would even talk with me. But any way back on topic. Are you sure you want to leave Sochi?"

Naruto looks at his parents and nods, "I want to get out of here please."

"Very well then Naruto we shall leave. Is there anything you need to collect before we leave?" Naruto shakes his head. "Very well. Lets head back to see Sarutobi and sign the papers so you can leave without an issue Naruto." Minato then places his hand on their shoulders and flashes them back to the Hokage's office.

*Hokage's Office*

Sarutobi looks up from his desk after signing a paper. "Ah Minato-kun, Kushina-chan, and Naruto-kun welcome back. I take it that a decision has been made?"

Minato nods his head, "Yes Lord Third. We are all leaving as soon as you complete the paperwork needed for him to go."

Sarutobi takes a puff from his pipe, "I already filled out the proper papers. All I need is Naruto-kun to hand over his headband." Naruto walks forward and takes his headband off and places it on his desk.

Sarutobi frowns, "I hate to see you go Naruto-kun but I understand. Please live a happy life wherever you all end up at."

"We will Lord Third. But before we go how long is it before the chuunin exams are back in Konoha?"

"They will be here in eight months time."

"Very well you may see us back here for Naruto to participate."

And just like that all three left in another flash.

*Unknown location*

Minato, Kushina and Naruto arrive in a forest just outside of Konoha.

"Hey Tou-san where are we going? And why did you bring us to the forest?"

Kushina smiles and looks towards Minato. Minato Reaches down and ruffles Naruto's hair once more, "I could flash us straight to our location if you want me to. I flashed us here to see if I can still properly do a long jump like this. I am sure I can make us there. If not then I will get us as close as possible. I got markers all over the five elemental nations."

Naruto smiles brightly and starts to jump up and down, "That is so cool. But you didn't say where we are going. Or am I going to have to take a guess?"

Before Naruto got an answer they were all flashed away again.

*?*

Kushina bonks Minato on top of the head, "Mina-kun a little warning for Sochi next time."

Minato rubs his head and chuckles nervously, "Sorry about that."

Unfazed by this Naruto looks around to see where they are at. He notices that they are in front of the gates to another village but can't see much do to what he believes is fog. "Where are we?"

"Give it a second naruto and you will see."

Just as he finishes speaking the gates open up and a few Chuunin come out. "Halt state your business, and what village you are from."

Minato looks at the Chuunin and smiles, "Please we mean no harm. My name is Minato Namikaze and this is my wife Kushina Uzumaki and my son Naruto Uzumaki. We will wait patiently here but please give your Kage a message for me."

Hearing their names the Chuunin start to shake and get nervous. After a few seconds one speaks up. "Very well what is your message."

"Please tell them that the red flash seeks towards the lightning to ward off its foes."
