Chapter 4

"Hopefully, Luffy won't lose his control," Sabo muttered, holding Ace's hands under the table. Some people were glaring at them. One glare from them was enough to make them break their eye contacts.

"Bones, Skelet!"

"HUFFLEPUFF!" shouted the hat after some silence. And finally, the silence broke completely as the other houses started clapping for the newcomers.

"Boot, Terry!"

"HUFFLEPUFF!" The Hufflepuffs clapped once more.

"Granger, Hermione!"

"GRYFFINDOR!" The hat shouted almost once, followed by roars of claps. She made her way and sat opposite the twin brothers.

"We are in the same house," She spoke to Felix and got an affirmation in response.

"Longbottom, Neville!"

When the boy's name was called, he fell over to the stool. The hat took a long time to decide with Neville, when it finally shouted.

"HUFFLEPUFF!" The boy ran off still wearing the hat, and had to jog back amid gales of laughter to give it back.

"Malfoy, Draco!"

Malfoy swaggered forward when his name was called and got his wish at once. The hat had barely touched his head when it screamed, "SLYTHERIN!"

Malfoy went to join his friends Crabbe and Goyle, looking pleased with himself.

After some other names, came the name everyone was waiting for. The celebrity who would be joining them this year in Hogwarts.

"Potter, Harry!"

"Potter, did she say?"

"The Harry Potter?"

Surprised murmurs started in the hall. They were all eager to know about the Boy Who Lived. But no one was even responding to the name! Did Harry Potter not come?

Sabo and Ace shared a glance and looked at their brother who was looking at the ceiling of the hall with his shiny eyes. They couldn't do anything. The boy hadn't even said his name correctly ever and they doubted he would do now.

"Potter, Harry!" The teacher called again, visibly annoyed. But she knew why the boy wasn't responding. She came towards the boy glaring half-heartedly.

"Harry Potter!" She repeated and saw the boy cocking his head at her not understanding when he gasped and hit his fist in his other palm.

"Oh yeah! It's me!" Luffy said before Professor McGonagall could take the boy over. The first years who heard him burst out laughing. Luffy bounced his way to the hat smiling wider in excitement. The halls filled with hushed chatter at the boy who sat down eagerly on the stool and waited for the hat to speak like it did with the others.

'Monkey D Luffy?! It's an honor, Your Majesty!'

"Shishishishi!"

'Know that Hogwarts is happy to have you among its students along with your brothers, even if they don't show it. So, if you could try to leave it as it is, we would be touched!'

'Hey!' Luffy whined internally. 'I am not that bad!'

'Order my little king, where would you like to go?' The hat asked.

Luffy grinned widely at the hat, 'I want to be with my brothers!'

"GRYFFINDOR!" The hat yelled.

'You would have company soon,' The hat said making Luffy blink.

"What?" He asked, before the hat was taken over. He was about to shake the hat to get his answers, when the cat lady gave him a glare. With a pout, he walked to the table, which had exploded into cheers, by far louder than any that everyone else had received.

The Weasley twins were shouting "We got Potter!" simultaneously and everyone was giving him a hearty amount of applause.

Roars of shouts came from that table and Luffy happily descended from his place on the stool and trotted over to his new house. People were clamoring to talk to him and were shaking his hands, making Luffy pout.

After getting rid of the crowd, Luffy dashed to his brothers and hugged them. The room remained speechless at the reunion of the three friends who should be the worst enemies in the world.

"We are in the same house," The boy grinned brightly, ignoring the silence which had encompassed them. Luffy sat in between his brothers and held their hands squeezing them lightly. The brothers squeezed back with smiles on their faces.

"Hello, I'm Hermione Granger! I met you earlier, but you were sleeping at that time." Luffy smiled warmly at her.

"I'm Mon-" Luffy's feet was stepped by Ace's in plain reminder. Luffy pouted before remembering the name he was supposed to say.

"I'm Harry," He said not remembering the last name. Though his name came out as a question, but the smile which he got from his brother showed he was correct.

"I know all about you, of course- I got a few extra books for background reading and you're in Modern Magical History and The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century." The girl said to him.

"But why?" asked Luffy looking from the new girl to his brothers in confusion.

"Goodness! Didn't you know?" The girl was about to continue when Sabo interrupted.

"We would appreciate it if you stop making him remember of that day," said Sabo with a tight smile on his face.

"Oh, I didn't mean that," Hermione said in an instant, getting a nod in response from Sabo.

"Lu, remember we told you about the bad guy on the train who killed your parents?" Ace asked. Luffy nodded. "That's what she meant."

"But I'm not a hero!" Luffy puffed his cheeks out like a chipmunk, making the brothers and the others who saw it, internally coo at it. It was true that Luffy was always adorable, even when he was a kid. The only thing that had changed about this new body was the color of his iris and the placement of the scar. "Nor do I think I have done anything."

The brothers smiled at him fondly, before another name came in.

"Weasley, Ron!" The hat a second later shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!" The table clapped loudly, the loudest being the Weasley twins.

"Are you really Harry Potter?" The redhead asked the first thing as he sat beside Hermione.

"Yes, that's my name," Luffy said with a bit of whiny tone, plopping his head on the table. He still didn't like the name at all and he still thinks his name was more nicer name than whatever his new name was. Moreover, the people were seeing him as a hero! He's not a hero! Hero's share meat and he won't. So, he is not one!

"Then why are you sitting with them?" The redhead asked pointing to his brothers with disgust. Luffy sat up straight and narrowed his eyes at him. He didn't like the way the boy was speaking. He felt Ace and Sabo's hands squeezing him, but he didn't break eye contact with the boy in front of him.

"What do you mean?" Luffy asked with confusion filled voice.

"They are filthy trai-" Before the boy could continue, Luffy glared at him. The atmosphere was thickening with tension.

"Shut up!" Luffy said in a low voice, his face completely blank with rage and his conqueror's Haki leaking from the tone, making the redhead completely go still. The people who saw the cherry, innocent and playful boy's this side, were shocked.

"Lu, calm down!" Sabo said, making Luffy raise an eyebrow which was hiding from his bangs. "Remember what we have said."

"It doesn't matter. See, we don't care what they are saying," Ace said making Luffy turn towards him. Luffy looked at his brothers. Reading their emotions easily, after he was sure they were okay, he was back to his usual childish behavior and removed the Haki pressure from the redhead. The table sweat dropped at the sudden change. One thing was clear, it was better not to mess with Harry Potter or the end line of that glare would never be good.

"Ron," Fred said strictly. They have seen the brothers and how they have interacted on the train. It was like they were a family.

"Apologize right now," George finished.

But alas! There were some stupid heads, who would not adhere to the warnings given to them and try to trespass the safe boundary of hell.

"But I didn't say anything wrong. They just helped one of those bastards. A supporter of you-know-who." Ron mumbled but it was heard easily by Luffy.

Luffy really wanted to pound the boy, but if his brothers were fine and if it was not hurting them, then it was okay. Some fights were not worth fighting, specially when the redhead's brothers were there teaching him.

"Ronald Weasley!" Fred said in an angry tone.

"You better apologize if you don't want a howler." George completed.

"No-" Quicker than lightning, Percy was standing behind Ron.

"My apologies. My brother isn't available right now" Percy apologized on behalf of the redhead and took the boy somewhere else to sit.

"It's fine," Ace and Sabo said together, waving their hands. They began focusing on the sorting again, which was the last one.

"Blaise Zabini!"

"SLYTHERIN!" The hat shouted after some time. The poor soul wandered off to Gryffindor table, but was put to his place by one of the perfects of the Slytherins.

"When the hell did the tables start to move from there places!" The boy grumbled at his way.

Draco Malfoy who clearly heard it, met the boy's eyes. He couldn't explain the sudden hatred and not hatred he felt towards the directionless moron. It was the same feeling he had got when he was with Harry Potter, but there was a feeling of something other than hate for the Potter boy. He didn't want to confront them, so he began chatting with Crabbe and Goyle.

Albus Dumbledore stood up from his seat and was beaming at the students, his arms opened wide, as if nothing could have pleased him more than to see them all there.

"Welcome," he said with his eyes twinkling. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"

Dumbledore clapped his hands and lots of food appeared on the table. Ace and Sabo chuckled at Luffy, who looked like he has gone to heaven and had came back. Luffy had never seen so much food in the table at once, except for his previous life, which didn't count right now. There were so much meat!

"You can eat as much you want, little brother," Ace said helping himself with food.

Luffy wasted no time. He filled his plate with whatever food he could find, except for the greens. Sometimes, his limbs would stretch past human limits only for Ace and Sabo to hiss at him in warning.

"Don't eat only meat. You need veggies if you want to grow taller," Sabo said fondly looking at Luffy's disappointed face. He had piled only meat on his plates.

Luffy poked his tongue at him, not noticing him and Ace sliding some vegetables with meat to his plate. The dinner was a merry one, only for the brothers.

The students who saw the way they were eating, inched away from them or looked away.

"How can a person eat so much?" asked a seventh grader, as he watched the commotion.

"I bet who will eat the most," one of the Weasley twins popped up cheering on the bottomless pits.

"It's obviously Asher!" Fred Weasley said plopping beside Hermione who was staring wide eyed at the trio in front of them.

"No way!" George said in retort. "It's Felix!"

The brothers chuckled knowing the true winner will be who and continued to eat.

"I missed this," Sabo said with nostalgia. Ace couldn't but nod, looking at Luffy with a big smile on his back. The thought of getting together with his brothers was everything for him right now!

"That's cheating!" Fred said when Luffy snapped some meat from Sabo's plate.

"No way! That will count as Felix's!" Fred said with a snicker.

After what seemed to Luffy's tenth plate, the brat was slowing down and his eyes were flickering towards the ceiling and the floating candles, to the professors, and then back to the food in a continuous cycle. There were ghosts floating around and the Nearly Headless Nick was there talking to other kids, Luffy following each word of the man from heart.

"It's Harry who ate the most!" Hermione said with her jaws wide open, making the twin Weasleys pout.

The table soon turned to talk about families, followed by Hermione talking about lessons to Felix, who responded politely.

Luffy, who was starting to feel warm and sleepy, looked up at the High Table where the teachers were. He noted giant-ossan and the nice cat lady there. Giant-ossan was drinking from his glass and cat lady was talking to the old man. Besides him was a man with a turban, which gave him an uneasy feeling. He looked pass the man to look at the teacher with greasy black hair and a pale skin. The man looked straight into his eyes, making him tilt his eyes in confusion. When the man didn't remove his eyes, he just grinned widely when a sharp, hot pain shot across the cool scar on his forehead.

He hissed suddenly, making Ace and Sabo turn their attention on him.

"What happened?" Ace and Sabo asked at once.

"Don't know," He confessed as the pain left as quick as it had come. It wasn't a lot, it just felt like he has been burned in his forehead. He looked back at the table and saw the greasy haired man talking something with the turban guy.

After an absolutely splendid feast, followed by a decadent array of desserts, Dumbledore stands once more and goes to the podium. With a wave of his hand the food vanishes, much to Luffy's utter dismay. He wanted to eat more!

"Ahern- just a few more words now that we are all fed and watered. I have a few start-of-term notices to give you. First years should note that the forest on the grounds is forbidden to all pupils." The brothers smiled mischievously to each other that they have absolutely got the message, before paying attention to the headmaster again.

"And a few of our older students would do well to remember that as well." Dumbledore turned to the Weasley twins who were wearing their guilty smiles. They were surely planning a new farce on this beautiful day of return. Why had Dumbledore accepted them again this year at Hogwarts? He really should consider.

"I have also been asked by Mr. Filch, the caretaker, to remind you all that no magic should be used between classes in the corridors. Quidditch trials will be held in the second week of the term. Anyone interested in playing for their house teams should contact Madam Hooch. And finally, I must tell you that this year, the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful death."

"Adventure!" Luffy muttered under his breath. Ace and Sabo felt it. They had to go! In this world, everyone were weak and depended on their wands! There was no fun! But if these people were claiming that the 3rd corridor was dangerous and life-threatening and then it could mean a good game for the them to pass time!

"And now, before we go to bed, let us sing the school song!" Dumbledore cried. He gave his wand a little flick, as if he was trying to get a fly off the end, and a long golden ribbon flew out of it, which rose high above the tables and twisted itself, snakelike, into words.

"Everyone pick their favorite tune," Dumbledore said. Luffy excitedly started singing to the tune of the pirate shanties he had heard from Brook and the brothers followed him.

The Gryffindors followed Percy through the chattering crowds, out of the Great Hall, and up the marble staircase. Ace and Sabo had to stop Luffy from breaking out of the line, every single time he saw something interesting or any shadow that looked 'mysterious'. The entire way there were fascinating moving portraits, making them 'aah' and 'ooh' at them. Ace and Sabo had learned all about Hogwarts in the first two months after getting their letters, but they didn't think all the magic which they are witnessing know could ever happen! The moving stairs, the talking and singing portraits, the ghosts which were passing them, it all looked as if they had been picked from story books. Their wide eyed wonders fits in perfectly amid the flock of excitable eleven years old.

At the very end of the corridor hung a portrait of a very fat woman in a pink silk press.

"Password?" She asked.

"Caput Draconis," said Percy and the portrait swung forward to reveal a round hole in the wall. The kids all scrambled through it and found themselves in the Gryffindor common room, a cozy, round room full of squashy armchairs.

Percy directed the girls through one door to their dormitory and the boys through another. At the top of a spiral staircase, they found their beds at last: five four-posters hung with deep red, velvet curtains. Their trunks had already been brought up.

"I want to sleep together," Luffy bit his lips and gave his best puppy eyes to the brothers, who felt themselves crumble under it.

"Then help us," Ace was the first one who had given into Luffy's puppy eyes, while Sabo the second, who chuckled at it.

Their room mates were staring them with their jaws wide open, seeing them push two of the two beds together to join them. They threw their robes and the trunks to the other bed which was empty before jumping to the soft cushioned mattress. Luffy was soon fast asleep in between.

"B-But you can't do that!" Ron accused them, while the other boy, Seamus Finnigan stared at them wide eyes at the sheer strength they have shown.

"There isn't any rule against it," Sabo said closing the curtains on one side. "Good night."

Sabo was waken up by small hands shaking him up. He opened his eyes to find an excited Luffy grinning wide at him. What a pleasure is to wake up next to his brother, Sabo thought, before he could stop Luffy from jostling him up.

"I'm up," Sabo muttered rubbing his eyes, looking at Luffy who jumped onto Ace, getting an 'oof' in return.

"Wake up! Wake up!" Luffy says jumping on Ace, who removes Luffy from his body and shoves him to Sabo, giving them a glare.

"We have magic classes!" Luffy skips on his legs, jumping on the mattress.

"I'm up," Ace says between his yawns. He notices Sabo opening their trunks to get their necessities before throwing towels and toothbrushes to each one of them.

"Who wants to have a little race?" Sabo asks running to the washroom, where they fight for brushing their teeth, although Luffy tries to copy, but fails miserably. At the end, it is Ace who is brushing his teeth, after brushing his own.

"You need to learn some basic thing, Luffy," Ace speaks making sure that Luffy won't gulp down the water. Luffy pouts at that. "It's boring."

They bath together before leaving the bathroom in towels to get their clothes and school uniform. They are greeted by several odd stares from the other two boys in the room, whom they might have woke up, especially Luffy with his shouting.

"Sorry for waking you all up," Sabo says politely, helping himself into his clothes. The two boys groan before getting back to sleep.

"What time is it anyways?" Seamus asks.

"Seven fifteen," Sabo responds, fixing his robe.

Ace blinks, his hands pausing at his robe. "Why did you wake us up before an hour hour?" Ace asks Luffy who messily wears his robes and jumps in his place with excitement.

"I found out from that Perky guy that the great hall opens at seven thirty! So, hurry up!"

"Perky?" Seamus asks and Sabo and Ace just gets the idea of whom their baby brother is talking about.

"Percy Weasley," Sabo responds to the guy, who 'oohs' before getting to sleep finally.

"Yeah, that guy," Luffy says hurrying over to the door. "C'mon! Let's go already!"

"You woke us for food?" Sabo asks rubbing his temple.

"Yep!" Luffy says shamelessly, jumping from the stairs, his brothers following him without any retaliation.

They have known Luffy for ages and knew that the first thing their brother wants is food in the morning. Luffy drags them excitedly once they side by side, jumping from the several dozens meters in the air, which can likely send them to Saint Mungo's if seen, but they don't luckily encounter much people on their way and make it to great hall in record time, just as Filch opens the doors.

They race to the table where they sat yesterday with the same seat. As they sit down, a small buffet-like section appears around them. Luffy lets out an excited sound and proceeds to eat like no tomorrow. The other two brothers follow him, eating like they used to in the forest of Mt. Colvo. Luckily, they are the only ones in the hall but they should work on the part of eating in a more sedate and normal pace. They don't need to stick out more than they already are doing but honestly they don't care.

By the time people start filling in the dinning hall, their paces are considerably slower than before and by eight they have stopped altogether with their stomachs bulging out.

"Mr. Black, Mr. Potter," A stern voice demands their attention and the boys look at the professor standing in front of them. Luffy's smile widens as he jumps on his feet.

"Cat Lady!" The nickname was... odd. But to their astonishment the Professor didn't scold Luffy, but gave him a small smile. Leave it on Luffy, to change even the stern people to smile and he will do it perfectly.

"Cat Lady! They are my brothers!" Luffy excitably introduces them, making their surrounding go silent. Even the Professor raises an eyebrow at that.

"Thank you for finding our brother!" Ace and Sabo did a small bow to her, which really stuns her. But she doesn't say anything.

"Is there any problem Professor?" Sabo asks politely, seeing the Professor.

"I have your schedules," She said after composing herself and with a flick of a wand, three sheets of paper appear before them, floating in air.

"Don't be late," The Professor said. With that warning she moved down the bench to other students distributing their schedules.

Luffy laughs in delight as he holds his schedule and turns it over. Before he really throws it, Sabo takes it from Luffy. They match their schedules and find that they have all the classes together, which makes them smile widely.

For their first morning class, they were already late with Luffy getting distracted every time and the stairs which changed routes upon their moods. And the fact that they had to go to the greenhouse which was the other side of the school.

A minute before the eight thirty the brothers finally reached the Herbology class, where some students were talking among themselves.

The Herbology Professor Pomona Sprout arrived at that moment, where upon they were lead to the greenhouse. They took off their cloaks and grabbed their smocks for the classes.

The inside of the greenhouse was filled with magical and mundane plants and fungi. The teacher explained how they would learn to take care for and utilize plants, learn about their magical properties and what they are used for. She informed that many plants provided ingredients for potions and medicine, while others have magical effects of their own right.

The class was interesting but not that much for Luffy to bother to learn their names by heart. The only who seemed to pay attention to the every word in the whole class seemed to be Neville and Hermione.

-x-

Their second class was the Defense Against the Dark Arts, which was a joke to them. They were really looking forward for some sparring when the only thing they got was a stuttering coward teacher. His classroom smelled strongly of garlic, which everyone said was to ward off a vampire he'd met in Romania and was afraid would be coming back to get him one of these days.

His turban, he told them, had been given to him by an African prince as a thank you for getting rid of a troublesome zombie, but they didn't buy the story at all. It was reeking of malicious presence. The same presence like that of Blackbeard, the slimy and grimy feeling.

When Seamus Finnigan asked eagerly to hear how Quirrell had fought off the zombie, Quirrell went pink and started talking about the weather; for another, they had noticed that a funny smell hung around the turban, and the Weasley twins insisted that it was stuffed full of garlic as well, so that Quirrell was protected wherever he went.

After the class was over, and they were walking to the next class which was Transfiguration, Luffy spoke.

"I don't want to go to his class ever," He said holding his head.

"Is it still hurting?" Sabo asked, considering to take a round to the infirmary.

"No," Luffy said shaking his head. "He didn't feel right."

"Like that bastard, right?" Ace asked gritting his teeth, getting a nod from Luffy.

"We need to be careful around him," Sabo said considering options about spying the man. "It won't be too much to say that the bastard was also reincarnated." Sabo said in a low tone the last part.

Sabo would teach them enough to pass the exams and if something important happened, they didn't care.

Professor McGonagall clapped her hands in order to gain the attention and began speaking in her stern voice. "Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."

Then she changed her desk into a pig and back again. Luffy's eyes are practically shinning with unadulterated wonder and joy. But he was disappointed the moment the Professor said they weren't going to change the furniture into animals for a long time.

During taking notes, in which Luffy's quill repeatedly slipped off his hands, making a mess of his copy, Sabo and Ace promised to write the notes for him until he could write by himself. Finally boxes of matches appeared in front of them and professor told them what they had to do.

"We can turn things into meat!" Luffy whispered yelled to his brothers after hearing what they were supposed to do, with droll coming from his mouth. Before the Professor could scold, Ace wiped off the droll with Luffy's hanky.

"First try this, little bro," Ace teased before transforming his match to needle, which Sabo had done already.

Luffy pouts at that, before tapping on his match box. "Turn into needle." He spoke, making the brothers chuckle in their palms. Luffy huffs and then tries to again talk to the match box, when Sabo interrupts.

"You need your wand for it, Lu," He whispers quietly.

All the while the Professor's eyes scan the students who are able to transform their matches into needle and the first one was Felix Black followed by Asher Black. And right now Hermione Granger have also accomplished it. Her eyes stuck to Harry Potter, where she sees the boy bring out his wand and beat it on the match box without saying anything.

She was about to interrupt when she saw Felix and Asher guiding the boy's wand and telling him to repeat the words. She felt relieved at that. She was a bit skeptical when Mr. Potter had said that the Black's were his brothers. But seeing the brotherly bond clearly, her mind threw out all the doubts it could have about the safety of the little sunshine. She saw the love filled eyes of the boys as their brother failed to do so and the encouraging words which followed. And finally after trying it for several times, the boy managed!

And that reminds her, she should really speak to Potter about not calling her 'Cat Lady'. Well, another time.

Finally the lunch time arrived, making Luffy dash to the Great Hall, with an equally laughing Ace and Sabo following him. They were all hungry. The classes were tiring but some were interesting in their own way too.

"Slow down," A perfect shouted as the brothers raced to the middle of the table to sit.

"Sorry," They yelled, not sorry at all. Within moments, plates and plates of food appeared before them like the last times. They didn't waste a minute in digging in.

After a minute or two, Merry came flying in the Great Hall to perch on Luffy's shoulder who passed some food to the former ship spirit.

"Can we go to the forest now?" Luffy said licking another plate clean.

"We have three more classes," Ace groaned chewing meat from his steak.

"But Ace," Luffy whined.

"Only some hours and then we are free to wander off," Sabo encouraged the boys, making them nod.

"Might even find some fun later," Ace said. "What are left though, 'Bo?"

"Charms, Astronomy and History," Sabo said defending his plate from Luffy's wandering hands.

Professor Flitwick, the Charms teacher, was a tiny little wizard who had to stand on a pile of books to see over his desk. At the start of their first class he took the roll call, and when he reached Harry's name he gave an excited squeak and toppled out of sight. Making Luffy laugh loud, followed by small laughter here and there by the other students.

The theory classes of the Astronomy were boring. The professor, Aurora Sinistra explained how this year they would be studying the stars and the movement of the planets. It was a subject where the use of practical magic during the lessons wouldn't be necessary.

They were looking forward for the practical classes, which were on Wednesday midnight to see the stars through the telescopes. They would stay up late on that day and climb to the astronomy tower where they would study stars and map out constellations. That was one of the class the three were excited about.

They made plans on how the whole week's homework would be dumped on Wednesday to be completed as they won't be wandering off to the forest or the castle. The thought of star gazing reminded them the times they would spend together staring at the stars from their little treehouse and identifying little patterns.

History was not something Ace and Luffy specially enjoyed. Sabo was interested in knowing about everything about the world and the past but was not too eager as a certain ginger head. First they were excited to see the teacher who was a ghost teaching. But their interest evaporated in thin air when the lesson actually started.

Professor's Binns, their history teacher, even being a ghost was the most boring among all the ghosts they had met in the castle till now. Ace and Luffy found it hard to stay awake in the class and declared the class as their napping class, much to some people's annoyance. Sabo soon joined them not caring about the subject when he found it was really hard to stay up in the class.

Once they got up, they were greeted by irritated looks of Hermione Granger and a pissed off Ron Weasley. It didn't matter to them as they were free from all the classes now and also hungry.
