Chapter 2: Hard Hitters in Hoenn Part 1

Third-Person POV

Outskirts of Littleroot Town, Hoenn Region. (Pokémon Adventures Universe)

"Huff, huff…"

A girl with a red bow and fangs was running alongside the Fire/Fighting-type Pokémon Blaziken, both trying to outrun the horde behind them. Beast Monokumas snarled as they dashed on all fours to catch up. They cut the two of them off as they make it to the entrance to Littleroot.

"Tch, these things are annoying! Chic, use Blaze Kick!" The girl commands.

The Blaziken's foot is lit up with flames as it hits the two Monokumas in front before flipping backwards to smash the remaining three with its other foot.

Sapphire Birch, The Conqueror of the Hoenn region. Managing to collect all eight gym badges in the region in an 80-day time limit, she's a talented Pokémon trainer with plenty of strength (on her team and for herself due to growing up around nature).

"R-Robots? The heck is going on?" She says as she looks at the shattered parts.

Her ears then perked up, sensing that there were more bears on the way. She immediately returned Chic to her Pokéball before running towards Professor Birch's lab.

"Papa! Yer gonna hafta leave!" She yells as she enters.

"Sapphire, what's going on?!" The professor asks as he was preparing to head out for field work.

Sapphire just pushes him out the door with her, "No time to explain! Get outta here, and bring everyone else in town with ya!"

"O-Ok! But if this is something serious, try to stay safe yourself!" He tells her before heading off to get the other townsfolk.

"Ugh, now where the heck is Ruby? If I had him here, then this would be easy!" She groaned as she healed up her team in the lab.

Ruby has been gone for a few days, making Sapphire extremely worried. She tried contacting her senior Pokédex holders for help, but the ones in Kanto are having their own Monokuma infestation and the ones in Johto (along with Emerald) are busy searching for Gold who also disappeared. She also didn't know her juniors very well, so she didn't want to bother them either.

She's on her own.

Sapphire then stood in the middle of town, with Phado (Donphan), Troppy (Tropius), and Chic (Blaziken) in front of her and Kirly (Gallade) and Rono (Aggron) behind her. The town had been evacuated thanks to Professor Birch, so no casualties could occur. Monokumas came running in as Sapphire took a deep breath in.

"Leaf Tornado, Blast Burn, Take Down, Close Combat, Rollout!" She commands each of her Pokémon to use their respective moves and they go all out.

Scrap metal was flying all over town as one bear after the other got wrecked by her hard-hitting squad. Sapphire grit her fanged teeth as oil splattered onto her face, causing her to rub it off quickly.

Eventually all the Monokumas were mutilated and Sapphire tended to her tired Pokémon, "Thanks a lot! Let's take a break for now—huh?".

She hears rustling in the distance and she ushers Rono to come with her to the bushes. Sapphire then moves in closer, before sniffing out what's behind them. She then relaxes, knowing that smell was human.

"Hey! You two shouldn't be here, ya know? I thought I told everyone to leave!"

"Sorry Miss, we were just passing through so we couldn't get the message. We're not any trouble to you and your… animal monster things?" A blonde boy with a yellow scarf tells her as he pops his head out of the bushes, alongside a girl with a black bob cut and red sports jacket.

The girl nods, "Yeah, both of us just heard some noise and decided to check things out. We're kinda… not from around here."

"Okay? Then you two should leave before things get more dangerous… Wait, did you say animal monster things?" Sapphire asks the boy.

"Uh, yeah?" He answers.

"Y-You don't know what a Pokémon is?!" She questions him again.

"A… what?" He tilts his head in confusion.

Sapphire was shocked, "How 'bout you? You've gotta know, right?"

The other girl just shook her head no, leaving Sapphire in even more disbelief.

"You're not kidding… agh, fine! You can come with me then!" She tells the two of them.

"T-Thank you so much!" The black haired girl bowed her head with respect.

The blonde boy smiled, "Lead the way, Fang Girl."

"So… yer sayin' that you two just woke up here?"

Sapphire was trying to wrap her mind around what these two just told her.

"Yeah, that's what happened. This place isn't really familiar to me in any way either." The blonde shook his head.

"Me neither, and the last thing I remember before ending up here was me hanging out with a good friend of mine. I just met him and we decided to look around for help, only spotting weird animals and those robots that were heading to town." The black-haired girl explained.

"Hm… well do you guys have names?" Sapphire asks them.

"Me? I'm Masaomi Kida!"

Masaomi Kida, a happy-go-lucky young man at first glance. Loves to flirt with girls and crack bad jokes with good friends. But perhaps he's got something hidden behind that smile of his…

"My name's Michiru Kagemori!"

Michiru Kagemori, a brave and caring young girl with a liking for basketball. Quite stubborn, but still kind enough to protect those in need even if it affects her. She hides a secret however…

"All right, you can call me Sapphire Birch! Nice to meetcha!" She introduces herself with a smile.

"Likewise, so what now?" Masaomi asks.

Sapphire thinks for a bit before she comes up with something, "You two have nowhere to go, right?"

Michiru nods, "Right."

"And those robots are bound to be everywhere too, right?"

"Probably, from what we could tell from how many you fought anyways." Masaomi shrugs.

"Uh-huh, so I've got a proposition for ya!" Sapphire stands up to make her point, "Let's all go traveling together!"

"Huh?" The two other teenagers respond.

"That way we can find a way to get both of ya home, and find a way to stop those bears from taking over Hoenn! What do you say?"

She holds out her fist and awaits their answers impatiently. After thinking about it more, it would be better to travel as a group than on their own, especially after seeing her take out those robot bears with her team. Michiru and Masaomi bumped their fists with Sapphire, and a new trio was formed.

"Where should we start then?" Michiru asked her as the three of them headed outside.

After making sure no robot bears were around she let out Troppy (Tropius) once more and hopped onto his back.

"We fly over to Petalburg City to talk to Norman, he's a pretty strong gym leader. He'll be some good help, besides that he's also the dad of, um…"

"The dad of who?" Michiru asked curiously.

Sapphire's cheeks were beginning to turn red, "J-Just a good friend of mine, that's all! I'll tell ya later, just hop on!"

Michiru and Masaomi hopped onto Troppy's back, though the latter had a slight smirk on his face.

"Just a good friend, huh?"

"Shut yer trap!" Sapphire yelled in embarrassment as Michiru giggled.

The sauropod-like Pokémon flapped its leaf-like wings to take to the skies, despite its piano-like weight and size.

"Whoa!" Michiru let out in amazement at seeing the big guy soar.

"These things are amazing, if I had one then I wouldn't have to walk around Ikebukuro that often…" Masaomi looked over the scenery below them.

"Ha ha, where yer from probably sounds boring if they don't have Pokémon there!" Sapphire laughed.

"Kinda, but you'd be surprised at all the crazy crap that happens in that city. It's home for me and my friends, but you'd probably be wishing to leave when you get there, heh."

"Same here for the city I live in, but I think it's fun regardless of its flaws." Michiru mentions.

The three of them had a quick laugh before descending down into Petalburg City, as soon as they landed on a building however…

"AHHHHHHHH!"

Screams erupt as the citizens of Petalburg are running around in a panic, the very few trainers there are having trouble fighting off the threat facing them.

"Aerial Ace!" A youngster commands a Swellow to attack.

"Bubble Beam!" A young fisherman orders his Lombre.

"Headbutt!" A lass tells her Linoone.

The attacks land on the Destroyer monokumas, but they just shake it off and keep launching themselves right at the Pokémon and their trainers. The youngster grits his teeth before throwing a Pokéball right at one of them, and to his surprise it bounces off.

"It didn't work?! Are these things even Pokémon?!"

"Did you even hear that clanking sound when our attacks didn't work?! They're robots, you idiot! We need to run now!" The lass tells him.

"You didn't have to yell at him!" The young fisherman scolds her.

The lass rolls her eyes, "Run now, argue later!".

Suddenly, the lass gets grabbed by a Destroyer Monokuma and is taken to the air. She calls for help, but her friends and her Linoone are unable to reach her.

Seeing this, our trio are left in shock at what is happening to the city. Sapphire of course is rightfully angry, so she jumps off the building to fight.

"Hey, wait!" Michiru tries to stop her, but she is too late as Sapphire throws Chic out and the Monokumas are being set ablaze by the Fire/Fighting-type.

"Ugh, Masaomi what should we—" Michiru turns around and he's gone as well, "Just great…"

The lass is then being flown around the city by the Destroyer Monokuma, squirming around and yelling.

"Put me down, put me down, PUT ME DOWN!"

It was then that a metal pipe hit the jetpack of the Destroyer Monokuma, causing it to lose control in the air and also dropping the lass. She screamed as she fell down quite far, but then she's caught by Masaomi.

"Are you alright?" He asks.

"Y-Yeah, thank you so much!" The lass told him.

Masaomi smiled before putting her down, "Good, but you should hide out somewhere or leave the city. I'm gonna go help out other people."

She saw him run off while simply staring in admiration, "He's so dreamy~…".

Michiru, after having made her way down the building, managed to run into Sapphire once more.

"Sapphire, don't just run off without me! Especially in a warzone like this!"

"Just stay back so you don't get hurt! I need to make it to the gym!" The wild gal tells her.

"I can't just let you charge right in without so much of a plan! You've gotta—".

"RAGHH! METAL BURST!" Sapphire roared as she let out Rono and he unleashed said attack.

Sapphire looks to be out of breath after yelling out that command like that. Unfortunately for her that leaves her right open, as a Ball Monokuma appears and begins rolling towards her from behind.

BAM!

"Argh!" Sapphire cries out as she gets knocked back, taking a few bumps before stopping.

"Sapphire! Are you okay?!" Michiru asks her worriedly.

The girl with fangs clutched her arm in pain, "I'll be fine, just get outta here!"

Michiru just shook her head in refusal, "No, I'll fight too! I can't let you get any more hurt!"

"Yer gonna get hurt yerself if ya don't stay out of this!" Sapphire warns her, but she doesn't listen as the Ball Monokuma changes its target to her, "Michi–"

Michiru took a deep breath in before being bathed in shining light, revealing the form she had been hiding. Her hair turned blue and small ears popped atop her head, she gained brown fur around her body, and a tail appeared. Sapphire and her Pokémon had stunned looks on their faces after seeing her transformation.

After a car accident that resulted in a blood transfusion, Michiru Kagemori had gone from a normal human girl into one that is part-human, part-animal. She became a beastman, but she is no ordinary one. She is able to shapeshift parts of her body to match those of another animal, giving her a wide variety of abilities.

Michiru clenched her teeth as she held her arm back, which was transforming into a gorilla-like one.

"HAAAAAAAAH!" She unleashes a punch strong enough to send the Ball Monokuma into the Destroyer Monokumas that were harassing those other trainers.

"That… was so cool! Are you part-Pokémon or something, lady?" The young fisherman and the youngster asked Michiru with amazement in their eyes.

The tanuki girl was pretty embarrassed at the admiration from the kiddos, but not for long as there were more Monokumas arriving to attack the city.

"Get out while you can!" Michiru tells the kids to run and they listen immediately after seeing that horde.

Sapphire gets back up to join her new companion, Aggron and Blaziken by her side.

"Well I can definitely believe yer not from around here now!"

Michiru looked at her with a smile, "Sorry for not telling you guys about this, I didn't know how you'd react!"

"It's okay! I knew you smelled kinda different than a normal human anyways! Now let's take 'em down!" Sapphire eyes burned with passion for battle.

"Yeah! Wait, did you say smell?" Michiru tilted her head after hearing that.

General Tao, you failed twice now to stomp out those rebels taking out our troops in West City. That's one of our bases liberated!"

"Tch, it was only because of that drowsy-eyed mage and the girl with the fluffy hair! Also that mind control device you provided me was so fragile as well!" Tao barked back at the Ultron A.I..

"We told you it was a prototype, Mr. Tao! It controlled the mind of that long haired wolf guy just fine, riiiiiight?" Monaca peered down at the general with an unsettling smile.

"Tch, I'll be in my quarters! Those fools will be struck down next time, I swear it…" Tao mumbles as he leaves.

"You better! Or else you're gonna be in big trouble mister!" Monaca waved him goodbye.

Monaca slumped into her chair by the computer and sighed.

"Hm… he mentioned that fluffy haired girl, does he mean that zombie girl we placed a tracker chip in?" Ultron brings up.

"Oh yeah! The girl that has the same name as Big Sis Junko! Big Sis Tsumugi wanted to use her for a killing game, but the rosters were all filled up. So we took her in and planted a chip in her in case she finds people fighting back at our onslaught! Man smelled weird… but it's a good thing Tao didn't kill her there!" Monaca nods.

Ultron, already knowing the plan well, decided to change the subject, "Indeed… speaking of people fighting back…"

Footage taken from a Monokuma unit's POV showed Michiru and Sapphire cleaning house and Masaomi rescuing civilians in Petalburg, making Monaca pout.

"Damn it, more of them? Tell General Agatha she's up next, since it's her world. And tell her to bring the other two test subjects with her!"

Ultron opened a door and two more victims of the mind control tests walked through.

Out stepped a queen bee… and an ant.

Hiiiiiii, ha ha… did anyone miss me? Well I really have been quite busy with other content I'm making, so yeah these chapters are gonna be coming out less often as they did back then.
