Third-Person POV

Insert Song: Life at Garreg Mach Monastery (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)

"Okay the coast is clear, now walk in and grab a uniform." Linhardt told his otherworldly companions.

"What would we need uniforms for?" Ruby asked, as he and Junko looked over at the spare Officers Academy uniforms.

"It would be too much of a problem to explain everything that's been going on to the Church of Seiros, so for now it's better for you two to blend in. At least until those Monokumas show up." Lin explained.

"I… see. So we just attend classes at this academy? It could be a nice change of pace from fighting those bears." Junko looked over her uniform with slight interest.

"Indeed, but I do still worry about how our worlds are doing and what this Team Zetsubou has planned for this one." Ruby sighed.

With their uniforms all picked out, they sneaked over to Linhardt's room on the Dormitory's second floor. Junko was changing first, and the other two were going to be waiting outside.

"Let me know when I can come in to apply your makeup, okay?" Ruby tells her and she nods before closing the door.

"As if hiding the fact that you were from other worlds is enough, she has to hide that she's a living corpse as well. Dear Goddess, I feel like a headache is coming on from how troublesome this could turn out." Linhardt put his hand on his face as he was thinking about it.

Ruby raised an eyebrow at his complaining, "If it really is a pain you could have just avoided bringing us here and left us behind, you are in your own world after all. So why aren't you doing that?"

As Linhardt was raising his finger to answer an uninvited guest was approaching and Ruby needed to hide.

"Okay Ruby, I'm ready for the makeu— huh?!" Junko opened the door with her patchwork-like zombie face out, and Ruby immediately rushed in and shut it.

"Shh!" Ruby put a finger in front of his lips as the two of them peered out to see what was going on.

"Aw man! I'm starved, time for some grub before training! Wait, Linhardt?!" Linhardt's childhood friend Caspar had just exited his room.

"And the headache has arrived. Good day, Caspar." Linhardt snarked and then he was suddenly put into a bear hug.

"Buddy, where have you been?! The whole class was going nuts after you and Bernadetta disappeared!" The short-haired brawler embraced his pal.

"Gah… my bones. Put me down, Caspar…" Linhardt gasped.

"No way, man! I've gotta bring you back to class, Edelgard and the others need to know you're okay! But first, time for grub!" Caspar then hoisted him over his shoulders.

He then began to march down the stairs and to the Black Eagles Classroom.

Linhardt succumbed to his fate, "Ugh, very well… wait did you say Bernadetta's gone?"

As soon as they were gone, Ruby closed the door and they both slid to the ground in relief.

"That was close…" Junko stated as she patted herself off.

"Uh-huh. Now let's get to the finishing touches on your look!"

Ruby takes out his makeup kit from his bag and goes to work on her face and other parts of her body that could end up getting revealed. And once again the Showa-era idol was stage-ready, or in this case school-ready.

"Thank you so much, you really are amazing at this, Ruby!" Junko smiles as she looks in a mirror.

Ruby smiles back, "You're very welcome, now I guess it's time for me to change. Hm… this is actually quite an elegant-looking school uniform."

Junko checks out the skirt and the rest of her uniform as well, "It is! Something I would have liked wearing had I been to school more oft…en."

Junko turned around and Ruby had his white beanie removed. His hair was black and a small ahoge pointed up to his right side, but that wasn't what she was focused on. It was a large scar on the right side of his head, above his right eyebrow.

"U-Um…" She uttered in shock.

Ruby's eyes widened at her discovery, "Ah… so you saw it, huh?".

Junko quickly turned her head away and pretended not to know, "Saw what? I didn't see a thing! I'm sorry for staring!".

"Hey hey, it's all right! You did ask about what was under my hat so, it would have probably happened anyway." Ruby reassures her.

"Hm, so… would you mind me asking how you received that scar?" She asked.

Ruby thought for a moment before sitting down on Linhardt's bed, patting it so Junko could join him. As she sits down and starts pulling her socks over her feet as he begins the story.

"When I was a kid, I was the complete opposite of who I am today. A wild child that climbed trees and wasn't afraid to get dirty, who also enjoyed Pokémon battles a lot. One day though, that all changed."

Junko was leaning in slightly as she was invested in what she was hearing. Ruby continued.

"I was trying to protect an adorable girl around my age from a Salamence that had gone on a rampage. In the end I won, but I got the frightening injury you see right here." Ruby pointed to the scar before putting on a different cap to go with the uniform.

Junko was covering her mouth in astonishment before looking down at the Pokéball containing her Salamence, Ryū.

"Because of how I looked after getting that scar, it scared her, so I decided I was done with battling. I didn't want to make anyone else that unhappy again through my own recklessness. Instead I decided to pursue contests to help the beauty of my Pokémon shine bright. Quite a lot isn't it?"

Ruby turned to Junko and she was looking downward, not knowing what to say. Ruby decided to break the silence.

"Well, um, I guess it's time to…"

"It was a plane crash." Junko suddenly spoke up.

Ruby was taken aback by this, "What?".

"You wanted to know why I was afraid of flying? Well… I died in a plane crash. It was just so… sudden. I could still remember everyone panicking, the flight attendants trying to make us all calm down, and just the sight of us falling so quickly and…"

Junko began to have tears form under her eyes and Ruby quickly whipped out a handkerchief.

Ruby was in shock about the whole thing, but he was still hoping to help her through the bad memory.

"I'm here, I'm here. Shh…" He held her close in a small hug and she sobbed into his shoulder.

After a few more minutes, Junko managed to calm down and her makeup was redone after it had been running due to her tears.

(Officers Academy bell rings)

"I guess it's time to get going." Ruby says as he stands up.

"Yeah…" Junko nods as she goes to follow him, placing a headband atop her floofy hair.

They once again check how they look in the mirror, making sure their uniforms aren't dirty or wrinkled. The silver on them gleamed as if it were made of steel. (They're basically wearing the bonus academy outfits that Byleth gets in the DLC, without the capes of course.) Both of them decided to follow along with other students wandering around until they reached the Academy.

"Three classrooms? Red, blue, and yellow…" Junko looked ahead to see where many students were just hanging out.

Noticing them standing idly, a "fellow" student tries to give them a hand.

"Oh hey, you two new around here? Didn't think we'd be getting new students a few months into the year!"

He had tanned skin, and his uniform had a small yellow cape draped behind his shoulders. Greeting Ruby and Junko with a smile and a wave.

"Uh, yeah we are. We're confused on which classroom to join and we would appreciate some help." Ruby told him after clearing his voice.

"I see, I'll give you a simple explanation then. That classroom with the red banner is for the Adrestian Empire's Black Eagle House, don't know why it's not the Red Eagles but whatever. There's the Blue Lions House for the people of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, real chilly place from what I've heard. Finally the one I run, the Leicester Alliance's own Golden Deer House! The name's Claude, by the way."

He put out his hand and the two of them shook it one by one.

"It's nice to meet you, Claude, and thank you for the explanation." Junko kindly thanked him.

Claude put his hands behind his head in a relaxed pose, "No problem! And you two are…?"

"I'm Ruby."

"Junko Konno."

They introduced themselves politely and Claude nodded in understanding, "Okay, Ruby and Junko, guess I'll see you around. And be careful, yeah? Some of the students here have went missing these past few weeks, including the Prince of Faerghus, so try not to get mixed up into anything suspicious."

He warned them as he walked away and their eyebrows went up in response.

"Missing students, maybe they got sent to other worlds like us." Junko whispered to Ruby.

"Exactly what I was thinking, let's stay on guard for now. Team Zetsubou could already be here…"

After that quick back and forth they peeked into the Black Eagles classroom and saw Linhardt being chewed out by a girl with white-ish hair and a red cape.

"Don't try to be silent on this matter Linhardt, both you and Bernadetta have been missing for weeks. Are you sure you two weren't kept in the same location?"

"Edelgard, I haven't seen her around. Or Dimitri, or even Sylv—" He then gets cut off by a girl with long brown hair and hat.

"Look Lin, no one disappears for that long without some kind of memory of what the experience was like. We are willing to help now that you're back, but you need to be willing to share with us."

Caspar spoke up next, "Yeah, if you got kidnapped by some dangerous guys, then you should tell us! And also tell us where they are so we can take them down for kidnapping our classmates!".

"Agreed, they could be in pursuit of you at this moment when they had heard of your escape." A girl with braided purple hair told him.

"Getting this many people involved with what we're facing could be disastrous…" Ruby quietly spoke to Junko.

"Should we go in and say something to help him?" Junko suggests, but Ruby shakes his head.

"They'll probably get suspicious if we associate with him, since we're new students. We'll see him later, so for now let's find a classroom we can join and blend in with better."

"Hm? There appears to be someone looking on from outside." A young man with dark black hair and a frightening demeanor notices something.

"Eep!" Junko squeaks as she and Ruby quickly hide behind a pillar.

"Yeah… let's check out the other houses…" Ruby uttered with some shakiness in his voice.

As they slowly and quietly walked next door they saw someone walking out of the classroom, she had light blue hair and looked a bit gloomy.

"Um, excuse me." She softly told Ruby as he moved out of her way into the Golden Deer classroom.

Following her, they once again look on from the outside and hope they don't get caught. Claude was there, along with the light blue-haired girl, a pink twin tailed girl, a large man whose shirt looks about ready to burst, a green-haired boy with glasses, a younger-looking girl with white hair, a girl with short orange hair, and a tall purple haired man with a rose on his uniform.

"So was I right? Felix was even more of a jerk than he usually is, huh?" Claude asked the gloomy girl, "I did tell you to wait until Teach was there."

The younger girl spoke up next, "I know we approved of your decision to transfer to the Blue Lions, but perhaps now's not the best time to do it."

The pink twin tailed girl shrugged, "I'm guessing she just wanted to do it early so when Dimitri returns, she could welcome him back."

The gloomy girl's cheeks turned red, "T-That's…"

"I did hear that the Black Eagles got Linhardt back, so that's a start. I don't mind helping to go look for the others." The redhead brought up.

"Hmph, do we really have to go looking for that fool, Sylvain?" The purple-haired guy scoffed.

"Well he is a fellow classmate, as are Prince Dimitri and Bernadetta. I'd hate to think about what happened to them." The glasses boy quivers in fear.

The redhead then stood up from her seat, "You know what, I'll go survey the area and see if I can find any of them out there. I'll be back by dinnertime."

"Wait, Leonie!" The glasses boy reacted.

Junko and Ruby stuck to the walls as she was walking out.

"Going out on your own in a crisis, that's so reckless!" Junko sighed.

Finally they went on to observe what's happening in the Blue Lions classroom. A young man with dark blue hair tied into a bun was standing up and crossing his arms in frustration.

"Tch, like we really need new students when both the Boar and Sylvain have gone missing. Focusing on their whereabouts is the main priority here." He scoffed.

A smaller girl with orange hair stood up from her desk in response, "Still, you were being very mean to Marianne, Felix! Both Dimitri and the Professor supported her decision to transfer here, so you don't have to be so cold and be welcoming!"

"Hmph, it's not like the Boar's here now to help her adjust to her new house." Felix rolled his eyes.

"Ughhh, you really are the worst!" The girl pouted.

"It's okay, Annie." Her friend said to calm her down.

"Jeez, what's his problem?" Ruby reacted to what he saw.

"Oof!" Suddenly someone accidentally bumped into Junko as they were entering the classroom.

"Ah, I'm so sorry! I couldn't see you there at all." A boy with silver hair and freckles told her as the two of them began picking up the books he dropped.

"No, I'm sorry, I was in your way while you were carrying this much stuff!"

"But if I were looking where I was going, I wouldn't have…"

He pauses and so does Junko and they end up staring at each other for a little bit. Ruby takes notice of what he's witnessing and ponders for a moment.

"Hm… maybe… but they'd probably need more development time until I can see this happening." He muttered under his breath.

"U-U-Um, my apologies. Thank you for assisting me, are you two new students?" The boy stood up with his books in his arms.

"Y-Y-Yes, we are. Just deciding which one to join." Junko explained.

"Ah, I see! Well, I'd be happy to welcome you into the Blue Lions if you choose us. My name is Ashe, pleasure to meet you!"

Junko shook his hand, "Junko, the pleasure's mine."

"R-Right. And you are?" Ashe asked Ruby.

"Ruby, nice to meet you Ashe." He told him.

"Okay, well, I better be going!" Ashe waves as he enters the classroom.

"Um… we'll be seeing you!" Junko waved back.

She wiped a drop of sweat off her forehead and sighed in relief.

"Let's take another look around before we choose which house to stay with for the time being? Perhaps finding out where the dinding hall is?" Ruby suggests.

Junko snaps back to reality upon hearing this, "Oh, yes! I haven't had a decent meal in days…"

Ruby nods in agreement, "Yeah, there really weren't many good options back in that other city."

The two of them thought back to the restaurants back in West City, dilapidated or abandoned. They make a trip to the dining hall, but unbeknownst to them, something was on its way to the monastery… just not today.

Insert Song: Ostown - Light (Epic Mickey)

"So… Oswald, right?" Komaru asked politely.

The rabbit with blue shorts answered, "Yeah, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, the cartoon star you never heard of! Eh, won't put that against ya though, kid. So uh…"

"Komaru." She reminded him.

"Yeah, Komaru. You don't look like a forgotten toon to me, well kinda forgettable from how you look so average."

"Gee, thanks." Komaru says sarcastically.

"You're welcome, so how'd ya end up in Wasteland anyway?" Oswald asked.

"Well, I touched a weird tear into reality and I was suddenly sent here! I did see that there were Monokumas around here though, when did this happen?"

Oswald paused for a moment as the train kept bumping along the tracks, "A few weeks ago, these guys called Team Zetsubou took over Dark Beauty Castle. Started infesting the place with those robot bears, forcing us out of Mean Street and other areas."

"But how did they even manage to get here?" Komaru asked him another question.

Gus was the one who answered this one, "We were betrayed."

"By whom?" Komaru turned to him.

"The Petes. Small Pete, Pete Pan, Petetronic, and their big bully of a leader Big Bad Pete. They ended up taking over most of Wasteland, except for this small corner."

Oswald finished as they reached their destination.

"Welcome to Ostown. The only place left untouched by the invasion."

Komaru looks around at all the depressed toons, a lot of them shivering due to the cold and for fear of what could happen to them.

"I'm… so sorry. But, I'm sure that we can—"

"Can what? Fight back? With what army? They have as many troops as they want, as well as… as well as…."

Oswald was beginning to get choked up and couldn't finish his sentence.

"As well as what?" Komaru wondered.

Gus answered for Oswald, "A magic paintbrush, a powerful weapon in dangerous hands, but also…"

Oswald bit his lip as he began to finish what he was saying.

"Its wielder, my brother: Mickey Mouse."

Whoa, didn't expect another chapter so soon? Well I was kinda motivated to write about Three Houses, since I'm currently obsessed with playing Engage (Alcryst and Lapis are so cute together btw). I also managed to reveal more about what Team Zetsubou has up their sleeves! I look forward to sharing more after this. For now this chapter will focus on who I believe are the main characters of this story, my trinity. Ruby, Junko, and Linhardt, and how strong they can be together. (Also I hope you don't mind the weird shipping thing with Junko and Ashe, I just think they're somewhat compatible. I'll try not to shove it down your throats.) Thank you all for reading, I hope you're all doing well, and happy early Valentine's Day since I won't be posting another chapter then. Farewell, peeps!
