Chapter Twenty-One – The Unspoken Bond
The McMahon Estate, Fort Lauderdale, FL
October
Seth Rollins chased Abiyah down the passage upstairs early morning in Florida while Sasha did her warmup exercises on the lower ground floor of the house. As the Boss stretched her arms from side-to-side, her eyes wondered all over the beautiful new property that now belonged to her and her family. Finally, the Boss was on top and it felt so good.
She was going for a jog soon and normally she'd want Seth to come with her but he was playing with Abiyah upstairs and she didn't want to disturb their bonding time. Deciding to go alone, Sasha was surprised when the buzzer rang.
"Hi Sasha, it's me, can I come in?"
It was Montez Ford and he wasn't alone, Rhea Ripley was with him.
"One sec guys," Sasha replied and she went outside to greet the notorious new "couple". "I'm going for a jog, come with me,"
"But we don't have our gear on," Montez said. "Our clothes are in the car,"
"You haven't checked into your hotel yet?" Sasha asked them.
"That is not ideal, the fans are all over this place. We had to sneak here to see you," Rhea replied.
"Okay let's just walk," Sasha said and the three wrestlers walked down the street together while Seth watched them go from inside the house.
"What is going on?" Seth wondered as Abiyah tackled him from behind.
"Gotcha!" Abiyah cried and he wrestled around with Seth. He jumped on Seth's stomach and did a very impressive moonsault from the ottoman onto Seth's chest.
"I'm gonna kill Roman for showing you how to do that," Seth said trying to catch his breath.
"I was Mommy, not Daddy. Mommy's been teaching me moonsaults for weeks," Abiyah replied.
"Yeah, that makes more sense. Your Daddy couldn't do a moonsault if he worked lucha in Mexico for five years," Seth said. "When did Mommy teach you moonsaults?"
"While you were hanging out with the God Girls," Abiyah replied and Seth nodded.
"I'm glad she's doing more with you now," Seth said and Abiyah sat up and looked at Seth seriously.
"So why do you look so worried about her?" Abiyah asked him and Seth pulled his loose hair out of his face and leaned on the window box facing Abiyah.
"Because I've known your mother for a long time and I know when she's doing something wrong. There are two people that are causing a lot of problems in the wrestling locker room and I think you mom might have something to do with it," Abiyah replied and Roman's lil boy sighed.
"Always the bad girl," he said shaking his head and Seth furrowed his brow at Abiyah.
"What do you mean by that?" he asked Abiyah.
"I mean mom's always the bad girl, that's what Daddy says and I agree with him. I mean, has mommy ever been good?" Abiyah said and Seth thought about that question before answering.
"No, I guess she never has. But I love her and when you love somebody you look out for them. I'm the only person looking out for your mother right now Abiyah. Without me, your mother would be hopelessly lost," Seth said and Abiyah sighed and sat next to Seth.
"I know you love my mother but I think the time has come for you to see her for the woman she truly is and always has been. My mom is a bad girl and the sooner you accept that, the happier we'll all be," Abiyah said. "It hurts me to see you so concerned about her because I've only been on this planet for awhile and I already know her better than you do. How much more of your life are you going to waste trying to turn my mother into a God Girl?"
Seth shook his head in disagreement, "If Jesus can turn water into wine, I can change your mother from a bad girl to a God Girl," he said passionately and Abiyah put his young hand on Seth's broad shoulder.
"I don't know Jesus as well as you do but even the King of Kings couldn't save Judas," Abiyah replied and Seth gasped.
"Are you calling your mother a Judas, the worst disciple in history?!" he said in shock.
"Was Judas good or bad?" Abiyah asked and Seth stumbled for response and Abiyah shook his head in pity for Seth Rollins, "How many times has she betrayed you? In fact, I'm pretty certain she's betraying you right now,"
Seth was unable to respond to Abiyah's argument but he still believed he was in the right. However, he could also see how much his conviction was bothering Abiyah and he didn't want to spend this time with him arguing about Sasha. He'd save that for when he met up with the God Girls.
"Let's table this for another time. What other wrestling moves did your mother teach you?" Seth said changing the subject.
"She taught me how to do a frog splash but when I tried it on Daddy, he refused to sell it," Abiyah said.
"What do you mean?" Seth asked chuckling at the idea of Roman and Abiyah wrestling with each other.
"He moved out of the way! I fell right on my face, he just said, "Walk it off lil' man," and went to get a drink from the kitchen!" Abiyah said and Seth started laughing.
"Roman won't even sell for his own son, I gotta call that maniac," Seth said laughing but Roman was already on his way over to see Seth and Abiyah and find out how Seth was enjoying the McMahon family life.
As Roman made his way up the driveway to the McMahon estate, he caught sight of Sasha walking with Montez Ford and Rhea Ripley. After parking up, he got out of the car and followed them hoping to find out what they were up to.
"You guys are doing a great job keep it up," Sasha encouraged Montez and Rhea.
"I'm saying some really awful things about my wife Sasha, it's gonna be real hard to fix things when we finally get back on good terms," Ford said anxiously and Sasha's face tightened.
"I don't care about Bianca Belair I care about you. Bianca has been stealing the spotlight for years she deserves everything that's coming to her. Its your time now Tez," Sasha insisted but it was clear that Tez was uncomfortable with some of the content he had put out there about his wife, who he still loved very much.
"I agree with Sasha," Rhea said to Tez, "I know it hurts to trash your wife who's pregnant with your child but you have to remember why we're doing this, to get your name out there as a main event player. That's never gonna work if you continue to play the doting husband who worships the ground his wife walks on. Just play through, okay? This is working and when you're finally Champion, you can come clean and Bianca will take you back with open arms,"
Tez nodded, "You sure she'll take me back after all the things I've said in public? Not to mention that we haven't been seen apart this long in years, since before NXT when you were still friends with her Rhea," he asked and Rhea tried not to get emotional.
"Look Tez, if you're going to win this game, you've got to go all the way. Stop making this about Bianca, this is about you and you taking your rightful place in the wrestling business and its going to happen next month, at Survivor Series," Rhea said firmly and Tez covered his face that was full of tension.
"This better work guys or I'll lose everything," he said and Rhea hugged him supportively.
"It's already working, you just need to hang it there. It'll be all over soon Tez," Rhea assured him and Sasha laughed taking Rhea and Tez by surprise.
"What's so funny?" Tez asked her puzzled but Sasha played down her laughter.
"Don't worry about it, Rhea's right just hang in there, Bianca will get over it and you guys will be fine," Sasha said and Montez nodded feeling assured by Sasha's words. He didn't see the private exchange between Rhea and Sasha, if he had, Tez would have known that the Boss wasn't telling him the whole story. The Truth was this "storyline" was far from over and the worst was yet to come. Sasha had already made her New Year's resolution, a resolution that would only come to pass if Bianca Belair and the God Girls were completely destroyed.
"We need to talk," Roman said taking Sasha by surprise.
"What are you doing here, are you following me?" Sasha asked insulted by Roman's sudden appearance.
"No, I'm just trying to save your marriage. Sasha, we talked about this, if you continue to go after the God Girls, Seth will leave you and I know that's not what you want. So, if you really want Tez to get over, use me, I'll get him over. But this thing you're doing with Rhea is not going to work," Roman said and Sasha laughed again and Tez was starting to think there was something going on that he didn't know about. "Don't listen her Tez, go home to your wife and end this thing before it's too late,"
"Its already too late Roman, Tez is part of this thing there's no going back," Sasha replied and Tez turned to her concerned.
"What thing, what am I a part of? Is there something else going on that you haven't told me?" Tez asked Sasha.
"Yeah, there is Tez and you don't want to be a part of it," Roman replied and Sasha snarled at her son's father.
"You talked to Trinity. I knew Jimmy Uso couldn't keep his damn mouth shut!" Sasha said and Roman looked at Tez and shook his head.
"I'll tell you everything when you come to your senses and go back to your wife," Roman said and he looked back at Sasha. "Does Seth know what you're planning next year?"
"It doesn't matter he can't do anything about it. I've been playing second fiddle for almost two years, now its time for my husband to follow my lead and if I were you Roman, I'd keep your Samoan nose out of my family business," Sasha said firmly.
"Your family is my business, Sasha. Abiyah is my son and Seth is my best friend, what happens to them matters to me and maybe more than it does to you. Whatever you've got planned is going to fail because God isn't in it. The God Girls are winners and if you try to destroy them, guess what that makes you?" Roman said and Sasha struck him with Blue Thunder and he hit the ground with smoke coming off his body. The violent act troubled Montez Ford and he knelt to check on Roman but he was full of static electricity causing Tez to step back.
"Don't mess with me Roman," Sasha said bending over Roman's smoking body, "Or I'll turn this whole business against you. Now that I'm in my power, ain't nobody walking this planet can stop me from making my new year the best year ever. And that includes you and my husband, so I suggest you do like you tell your cousins every week on TV and fall in line, with the Boss, because the Boss is finally on top,"
Rhea and Tez watched as Sasha flipped Roman onto his back and crouched over him, pressing her mouth to his and she kissed him, only it was more of a warning than a sign of affection. She turned to face her walking buddies and wipes the ashes from her lips and gave them a smile. "Now, let's finish our morning walk before you guys head off. Let's grab some water downtown, I need to get this unpleasant taste out of my mouth,"
Tez shuddered at what he had just witnessed, the fact that Sasha still had her Blue Thunder gift and she just used it on Roman Reigns bothered him, as did going downtown with Rhea Ripley where they were bound to be heckled by fans. Rhea on the other hand couldn't be happier; unlike Tez, she knew what Sasha's new year plans were and she was all in. There was so much that Montez Ford didn't know about Sasha but one thing was clear and that was that Abiyah was right about his mom; she was the bad girl and that would never change no matter how much Seth wanted it to. All Roman could do now was wait for Seth to find him and heal him and then hopefully listen to him as he explained to Seth what his wife had planned for her new life as a bona fide McMahon and the role she expected Seth and Abiyah to play in it.
