Mai was fourteen when her mom dragged her across a mall in England. Today was their last full day after vacationing there for a week. "Why do we have to go to the mall the day before we leave?" Mai whined as they walked past the food court. "To get some clothes, but first let's get some lunch," Her mother said, dragging her to a table. "Stay here and I'll get us something to eat." Her mother said walking away.

"So what's a pretty girl like you sitting here alone?" A boy, just a year older than she asked.

"Gene it's good to see you!" Mai exclaimed, offering him a seat and looking at him for the last time before she had to leave to go back home. He had jet black hair and pools of sapphire for eyes. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt that had some game reference on it. "I thought I wouldn't get a chance to say goodbye." Mai stated sadly, their expressions turned glum.

"Gene hurry up, mom wants you," Gene's twin walked up to them, only giving Mai a brief glance, before glaring at his brother. It was easy to tell them apart just by their demeanors. Gene was more social and friendly, unlike his twin, who seemed to be more cold and uninviting.

"Mai, this is my twin Noll, Noll this is my friend Mai," Gene introduced them and offered Noll to sit with them which he accepted with annoyance. "So this is the famous Oliver Davis I've heard so much about," Mai sarcastically said, smiling sweetly.

"You'd be correct, and you must be the friend I haven't heard anything about." Noll smirked at his own reply and then turned to Gene. "Mother is waiting," He reminded him, turning his attention back to Mai.

"Right," Gene stood and hugged Mai goodbye. "Don't forget about me in Japan, alright?" Gene gave her a half smile as she said goodbye and then walked off to find his mother.

"So what's it like being paranormal twins?" Mai asked Noll, as she turned her attention back to him. He only raised a brow and looked at her like she was stupid. "I meant, what is it like to have your twin talk to you telepathically? Gene only told me about it a little," Mai explained a bit and looked at him expecting an answer.

"Annoying," Noll flatly replied and thought that'd be enough, but when Mai raised an eyebrow asking him to elaborate he continued, "Well, since either of us can essentially cut the link at any point to ignore the other especially when they are currently annoying you, it's not as bad as it could be." Noll sighed and looked around to find his twin so he could glare at him. When he wasn't able to find him, he looked back at Mai to see her giggling. "What's so funny?" He asked, annoyance lacing his tone.

"Nothing, just…" Mai trailed off before speaking again, "I know how annoying Gene can be sometimes, but he means well and that has to account for something," She sheepishly smiled, as he shook his head. "Come on Gene can't be that bad?" Mai asked, tilting her head slightly.

"Try having him talk in your head non-stop till you threaten bodily harm," Noll stated simply and shook his head at the recent argument. "He mentioned you had some psychic abilities?" Noll asked quickly, changing the subject.

"Yeah, I have postcognitive dreams, clairvoyance and if that wasn't enough I also have psychokinesis," Mai rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Gene told me you two just graduated last year and are heading off to college in a month, but you received an honorary doctorate for your research. Does that mean you technically can put that you're a doctor on official documents?" Mai tilted her head, curious what his answer would be.

"Actually, no. It only means that the university I dual credited at addresses me as Dr. Davis and I can guest lecture for the parapsychology class they have, other than that I can't really use it for anything else until I finish Uni." Noll answered her matter-of-factly.

"Wow that's actually still kinda cool," Mai responded thoughtfully. "I'm graduating from school next year and then I'll be a teacher's assistant. Not that you asked, but I felt if I didn't say anything you would have talked about yourself the whole time," she smirked as he glared at her.

"Well, I'm sorry if I find what I do more interesting," he smirked, "But I guess what you do could be interesting as well."

"Mhm, sure. You know too bad you're so in love with yourself or you'd be worth the effort to stay in contact with," Mai smiled and then looked up as her mother approached them with food. "Mom, this is Gene's twin, Noll." Mai's mother smiled at the introduction as she placed the containers of food on the table. Before anyone else could talk Noll's phone started to ring, answering it and offering his seat to Mai's mother he waved goodbye to them and walked off.

"Well, he seemed like a nice boy. Did you get a chance to say goodbye to Gene?" Her mother asked curiously, noticing her Mai watch him walk away. "Mai?" Her mother said her name trying to get her attention. "Mai…. Mai…"

TWO YEARS LATER.

"Mai?!" Keiko raised her voice trying to get Mai's attention. "Huh?" Mai responded. "I asked if you wanted to tell ghost stories with us?" Keiko asked as they packed up their notebooks.

"Uh yeah, sure I don't have work," Mai said, shaking the memory from her mind. "You guys are not ready for the story I have," she teased while putting her backpack on and heading out the door with them and walking down the hall towards the normal classroom they tell stories in after school.

After turning the light out they all sat in a circle and Keiko pulled out the flashlights, passing them around. Once they each had a flashlight and turned them on, Mai started. "There was this woman walking home late. While passing through a park she had to use the restroom. Entering and locking the door behind her, the lights flickered," Mai paused for dramatic effect. "A voice came out of nowhere asking the woman 'Would you like me to cover you in a red blanket?' it asked sickly sweet. 'No!' the woman shouted back and ran out finding a police officer and explaining to him. The officer told her to go back in and say yes this time, so she did. The voice asked again and the woman answered yes," pausing again to take a breath. "The woman began to scream and by the time the officer opened the door, the bathroom was covered in blood, like the woman had been covered in a red blanket," Mai finished grimly and smirked at the shrieks from her friends. Turning her light off and looking towards Michiru.

"How am I supposed to follow that?" Michiru asked, shaking her head. "Alright, it was a dark stormy night and a little girl was home alone. Staying up since her parents weren't home, she decided to watch movies and eat popcorn. Suddenly a loud clap of thunder hit and the power went off, jumping and spilling her popcorn, she rushed to find a flashlight and heard scratching coming from the basement door," Michiru breathed in and continued, "Shining her flashlight towards the door she could see it shaking as the scratching became louder and more urgent. Walking towards the door shaking, she reached to turn the handle when all of a sudden the door burst open and all that could be heard was the girl screaming," She finished as Keiko squealed and held on to Mai, Michiru turned her flashlight off shaking her head and smiling to herself. "Keiko, it's your turn."

"I heard this from an upper-classman. They had stayed late finishing a project. When they finally started walking home they had to pass by the old school building. When they passed, she felt someone watching her. Looking around she saw a ghostly white figure in a second floor window. When she looked away to see if anyone else was around, the street was quiet and no one was around, not even a car passing by. Turning back to the window she heard a wailing coming from the building, but the figure was gone," Keiko finished and turned her flashlight off.

"One."

"Two."

"Three." Mai finished slightly distracted.

"Four." A male voice said from the doorway. Michiru and Keiko screamed and latched onto each other.

The light turned on to reveal a guy with jet black hair and sapphire blue eyes standing in the doorway, "I'm sorry I heard voices and couldn't help myself."

"Oh no, it's fine," Keiko sighed, getting up and walking towards him. "What year are you?" She asked.

"I'm 18 this year. My name is Shibuya Kazuya," He said walking to the front of the room.

"So Shibuya-san, what are you doing here?" Mai asked, getting his attention.

"I'm here for business with the school," He replied calmly, with a bit of shock in his eyes. "And may I ask who you are?"

"No you may not," Mai shot back as she turned to grab her bag and walked out. "Mai wait for us!" Keiko and Michiru yelled after her and followed her after bowing quickly to Kazuya. "Come on Mai, slow down," Keiko breathed heavily, catching up to her. They continued to walk till they got outside and sat on a bench so Keiko and Michiru could catch their breaths. "Seriously Mai, what was with the freak out and you practically ran away?" Keiko asked as she took some deep breaths.

"Just didn't want to talk to some arrogant guy right now," Mai answered simply, ignoring the butterflies in her stomach. "We really should be getting home, it's late." Mai said standing and walking off with them watching her leave.
