8-Bit Ch. 7
(Memory Flashback)
She couldn't believe that she caught him with his tongue down her throat or that he would be so stupid to do it at the party he insisted she to come to. Looking at herself in the mirror, doing what she could to keep herself from screaming out, her heart was fucking breaking, and she was doing everything she could to keep her composure. Flinching as she heard a knock on the bathroom door, almost tempted to tell the person on the other side to fuck off.
Exhaling slowly, Savvy wiped her eyes, not wanting anyone at the party to see that she was close to crying. As she swung the door open, she immediately frowned when her eyes took in Crystal who had a satisfied look on her face. Keeping her hand on her dress, Savvy could see the look of satisfaction on her face, "Excuse me." She said, attempting to walk around her, but she found her path blocked. Glaring at her, "Move." She snapped.
Smirking down at her, "And if I don't?" she taunted.
Savvy couldn't help but tilt her head, smiling at the bitch, "Do you really want to find out?" While she wasn't much of a fighter, she wasn't going to let some amazon threaten her.
Crystal was a lot of things, but there was no way she was going to risk her face getting bruised, especially by some little computer nerd. Sticking out her chin, "Whatever, you little dwarf." She growled, taking a step back, her eyes following her as she left the bathroom, "I'm fucking your boyfriend." she taunted, hoping to see her cry.
Closing her eyes, Savvy knew that she was trying to get a reaction out of her, to enjoy her misery, but that was one thing she wasn't going to get to see. She'd cry in her room, away from the prying eyes of petty bitches like Crystal and her friends. Looking over her shoulder, Savvy could see her eyes, they were searching for her misery, "My mom always said to share your toys with the less fortunate." Without missing a beat, she made her way down the stairs and towards her car, wanting to get as far away from this place as possible.
Two Days Later – (Outside a coffee shop)
Mike found himself staring down at her, "Baby, I'm sorry OK, I was weak." He said, pissed that Crystal had to open her fucking mouth.
Rolling her eyes, "I could almost understand that once, but you've been screwing her for weeks now. So, that's not an excuse." Moving some hair out of her face, she could see that he was pissed, but she honestly, didn't care about his feelings, because it was clear that he didn't care about hers. Grabbing the box that was next to her, placing it on the table, "These are your things that you've left in my room." Sliding it over to him. Savvy could feel her heart clenching, but as much as it hurt to end their relationship, there was no way she was going to let anyone treat her like a damn doormat.
Slamming his hand down, "God Damn Savvy. You're being a little ridiculous. It's human nature to sleep around, it's not natural to be monogamous, you should know this, you are the genius, right?" he said, his voice almost taunting her.
Biting her cheek, Savvy stood up, "I am the genius between the two of us." Looking down at him, "You and Crystal deserve each other, because unlike you, I actually earned my place here, your daddy just bought your entry." Taking a step back, "So, go find her, but stay the hell away from me. Because unlike you, I have a future, and you have your daddy's car business." Turning on her heels, Savvy made it two steps before she felt herself being yanked backwards.
Seeing red, Mike couldn't believe that she spoke to him in such a manner, standing quickly snatching her wrist and pulling her back. "Listen you little bitch, no one talks to me that way." Glaring down at her, "You're not better than me!" his voice raising a bit.
Savvy was scared, in the year and a half that they were dating she never heard him raise his voice, but here he was squeezing her wrist and yelling. Yanking her hand out of his, Savvy took a few steps back, "Don't you dare put your hands on me again." Sticking out her chin, doing her best not to shake, "Because it would be a shame, really, if MIT found all those pictures of you in Cancun." Knowing that the idiot saved everything to the cloud.
Inhaling deeply, he could see in her eyes that she wasn't messing around, running his hands through his hair, "You're not even worth it." Turning around, he headed towards his car, he still had Crystal that would ride his dick, and it wouldn't be hard to find another.
Keeping herself still until she watched him tear out of the parking lot, Savvy placed her hand on her stomach, doing what she could to keep herself from throwing up. Taking a few deep breaths, Savvy felt her heart starting to slow down, running her hand through her hair never more grateful that Crystal told her what kind of a piece of shit he was. Snorting a bit, perhaps she should send the girl a fruit basket, because only God would know how long it would have taken her to realize that he really wasn't who he pretended to be.
END DREAM
Groaning, Savvy swore she felt that someone or something was crushing her skull, lifting her arm to rub her temples, but found herself unable to move her arms. Slowly opening her eyes, she found herself staring up at a dimly lit room, moving her eyes around the room, she found herself in what looked like a small doctor's office. Closing her eyes, she tried to remember what had happened that would have taken her to a doctor, but her brain was having a hard time remembering anything. Breathing slowly, Savvy looked down at her body, gasping at the sight, her arms were encased in a metal brace that was piercing her skin, blood slowly oozing out of the pins that were drilled into her.
Feeling hot tears starting to slide down her face, Savvy could feel her heart starting to beat faster and her eyes darting back and forth around the room, trying to get a clue to where the hell she was. Hearing someone shuffling about, her eyes tracked the noise hoping that whoever it was had answers to why she was here. But as the human shaped shadow moved into the dim light, it was all she could do to keep herself from screaming out.
Peter watched as the last of the smoke dissipated from the room, giving it a few more moments he watched in morbid fascination as she started to come around. He was a little concerned about his new concoction, in the past it was to get people to break, or more recently create a new identity, but today this was more about getting information while keeping her lucid enough so that she could hack in the Federal database because she was the only one besides Agent Prentiss that could bring him Hotchner. Shaking his head clear, as much as the thought of causing that man immense mental torture excited him, he needed to focus on the woman who was now looking around his little office he made.
Watching her intently, he couldn't help but chuckle, the words that he whispered into her ear as she was breathing in the smoke was obviously working. Folding his arms across his chest, it was a simple illusion that he wanted her to see, hoping that the image of the pins in her arms would put the fear of God into her, but it also didn't hurt that he told her that she was in excruciating pain. It wasn't until he saw the tears in her eyes that he knew it was time to get started. Looking down at his watch, it was 8:13am, he was hoping to have this wrapped up by noon. Rolling his neck, mentally preparing himself for the two roles he was going to play, himself the evil killer and the poor nurse that was desperate to help.
With a last look down at the information he collected on her, a little upset that he couldn't use her family with them being on a month-long vacation in Florida. While he was certain he could alter that memory, he was too afraid her brain would snap well before he was able to get what he needed. But he knew that Dr. Reid and SSA Alvez were the people that she was closest to, so he would be able to plant the memories of them begging for her to help them without worrying about her mental state too much. Tossing the folder down, Peter found her looking around, smirking a bit as he watched her brain trying to piece together what she was told and what was really in front of her.
Clearing his throat, Peter made his way into the room smiling as he watched her face, it pleased him to know that she knew exactly who he was. Slowly making his way over to her, lifting his hand to her arm, knowing that all she was seeing was him holding the pins, waiting for her eyes to lock onto his. Smirking as he watched her pale green eyes grow wide. "Ms. Knight, it's such a pleasure that you are finally awake. How are you feeling?" he asked, knowing that by asking that would put it in her head that her arms were on fire.
Pain radiated all the way up and down her arms, biting her cheek, Savvy refused to give him the satisfaction of her screams, keeping her eyes locked on his she stuck out her chin, while she refused to scream there was nothing she could do about the tears. Clenching her teeth, she watched in horror as he tightened the pins, squeezing her eyes shut, Savvy focused on anything that she could to keep herself from screaming, hoping that she could hold out long enough until the team realized that she was missing.
Lifting his hand off her arm, removing the sensation of it tightening it, he watched as she sighed in relief, "If you haven't figured it out, I can make this painful or I can provide you relief, it's really up to you." Pulling up the rolling chair, taking a seat next to her, "So, how do you really want this to go?" he asked, hoping that she would make this quick.
She wanted nothing more than to wipe the tears off her face, knowing that he was probably enjoying seeing her in so much pain. "We both know that it doesn't matter what I want, you're eventually going to kill me." She said, her voice shaking. She wished that she could have sounded a little braver, but there was only so much she could convince her brain to do.
Peter couldn't help but chuckle, lightly touching her face, laughing even louder when she jerked her head away, "Ms. Knight, I promise you this, I won't kill you, if you do what I want."
Savvy couldn't help but roll her eyes, "That's because you need someone else to do it for you. Kind of your M.O." she snapped. With her extensive research on the man, he was what the team called a killer by proxy, because he couldn't do the deed himself, he needed to get other people to do it for him.
Feeling his jaw twitch, Peter stared into her eyes, she was terrified, but there was something behind that, perhaps it was defiance. Placing his hand on her arm again, smiling as it had the desired effect, "I haven't personally killed anyone, but there is always a first time." Grinning as he watched her brain interpret the pain, but to her credit, she didn't scream, yet.
Biting her cheek, her eyes found him smiling down at her as she struggled to keep herself from screaming, "What do you want?!" she cried out. As much as she wanted to hold it in, it was becoming a losing battle.
Gripping her arm just a bit harder, wanting to make it seem as though he wasn't relenting, Peter watched as tears rolled down her face, "I want Aaron Hotchner and his bastard son." Letting go, he watched in amusement as a million different emotions danced across her face.
"Never." She growled. While she didn't get to work with Hotch long, she respected the man that gave her the chance to be a part of something greater than herself. There was no way she was going to do anything to put him or his beautiful son in danger.
Patting her head, "We'll see. I'll be right back." He said. Lifting a syringe, he injected a bit of serum, it was enough to make her feel like she was in immense pain, and the lightest touch would amplify that. Tossing it on the table next to her head, Peter made his way out of the room, readying himself for his next character.
Savvy could feel her heart pounding in her chest as he walked away, her eyes never leaving his body until he was completely out of her line of sight. Flinging her head back, Savvy had to resist screaming out for help, because as much as she wanted to, it was useless and a waste of energy. Turning her head, Savvy found herself looking around, trying to see anything that she could use to get out of here, but all her eyes could see was random office equipment.
But as her eyes passed over the mirror, for a split second she could see that there was nothing there, but just as quickly as it happened it was gone, and she was now seeing the brackets on her arms. "What?" she whispered into the room.
Seeing movement out of the corner of her eye, she found a small man walking in, his body hunched over, but it was him wearing scrubs that confused her. Letting her eyes track him, she watched as he moved past the mirror, again for a split second, his image distorted to Peter Lewis. Savvy kept her mouth shut at that observation, she knew at some point he drugged her, and that he would do what he could to coerce her into giving him what he wanted, but perhaps it wasn't holding. Glancing towards the mirror again, a flash bringing the room into focus, she was not in a doctor's office, but she really couldn't trust what she was seeing, at least not yet.
Peter watched her watch him; he almost expected her to ask for help or something, but all she did was watch him. Clearing his throat, "Do you mind if I check your arms?" he asked, knowing that she was seeing a frail man instead of him.
Glaring into his eyes, she just nodded, not trusting herself to speak. Staring at the man as he moved towards her, swearing her brain was telling her that something which at this moment wasn't reliable. But if she had to make a guess, he needed her lucid enough to hack into the database, so the medication cocktail he gave her wasn't what he was using in Tempe.
Staring down at her, "I promise not to hurt you." He said to her. It took all his self-control not to smile down at her, but luckily, he managed. "Are you allergic to anything?" he asked, hoping to get a bit of information to use to keep her alive or when she was no longer a use a possible method of death.
Savvy stared up at him, images of Peter flashed in front of her eyes, she could feel her brain and eyes having this battle inside her head, fighting on what she was seeing. Not trusting herself, Savvy just shook her head no. Following his hand, she watched as he slowly cleaned the wound around the pins that were drilled into her arms, but as she stared, his hands that were once gloved and holding gauze were nothing but bare hands with nothing in them. Slowly breathing, she turned her eyes up to him, seeing him give her a sad smile.
Peter could see her confusion, "The doctor told me to clean your wounds." Wanting her to think that he was someone under his control.
Seeing her arms without the brackets for a split-second Savvy couldn't help but exhale, it was starting to make sense, but she was so unsure of herself. For the first time that she could remember, Savvy couldn't trust her eyes or brain, which was terrifying. Turning her eyes up to the man, his image started to blur, "Where is the doctor?" she asked. She was certain that this was Lewis, and he was making her see what he wanted. But on the off chance that this was a real person, and he was under his spell and didn't know his own name, she felt it was better to act as though she believed who he was.
Smirking down at her, Peter could see that she was scared, perhaps instead of stringing this along, he'd accelerate his timeline and have her think that he had one of her teammates. He'd start with Luke, figuring that the longer she refused to help him find Hotch, he'd 'kill him', so when he brought in Dr. Reid, she'd be far more compliant. Turning his eyes towards hers, he could see the desperation in her eyes, she was looking for answers and he was more than happy to give them to her. Smirking down, Peter was enjoying how he was manipulating her, "He's with another patient, he'll be back in shortly."
"Oh, OK." Glancing down at her arm, while the images of brackets with the pins were coming in and out, one thing was clear, her tracker bracelet was still there. Not wanting to bring any attention to it, she felt a finger on her face, wiping away the tears that were still falling. "Um, thank you. Do you know what time it is?" she asked him.
Glancing down at his watch, Peter figured that she was trying to gage how long she's been held captive, normally he wouldn't indulge that but in this case it really didn't matter. "9:23 in the morning. Have somewhere to be?" he asked a little curious.
Savvy resisted the urge to cry out with joy, Emily would know something was up because she didn't text, but in case she assumed that she was just too tired, missing her breakfast with Pen would set off alarms for everyone. Turning her head, not wanting him to see the relief in her eyes, "No, just tired." She muttered, hoping that he didn't see anything but her despair.
Chuckling, "I'll go get the doctor." He said, making sure to use words that would remove one image and restore his.
Watching him step out of the room, Savvy looked towards the mirror again, the image of her arms free of the devices was becoming far clearer and staying a bit longer. "OK." She said to herself. But as she felt a bit more confident in what was happening, she heard whistling and a light squeaking noise. Turning her eyes, almost gasping at the sight, Peter had Luke tied to a wheelchair, "Luke?!" almost not believing what she was seeing.
Looking down at the dummy in the chair, Peter could only enjoy her distress, to her she was seeing Luke, his body tied down, his mouth covered with duct tape. "Ms. Knight, you help me find Hotchner, I will release you both, if not." Picking up the scalpel, cutting the dummy's face, but to her, it was real. "I will start cutting your friend into pieces." Turning his attention back to her, he could see big tears sliding down her face. "Do we have a deal?" he asked.
Savvy could feel herself on the verge of hyperventilating but by the grace of God she was able to keep herself from losing her shit. Watching as the blood slowly dripped down his cheek, she stared right into Luke's eyes, something was missing, tilting her head trying to figure out what it was. Blinking away the giant tears that were in her eyes, "He drugged too?" she snapped.
Placing his hand on the dummy's shoulder, Peter smirked over at her, "No, I want him aware of what I am doing to him, well, what you are allowing to happen to him." Her eyes staring into his, "So, it's simple Ms. Knight, Hotchner for his life." He wasn't sure what he wanted, for her to struggle against him or her to just give in, but it was her response that surprised him.
Clenching her jaw, Savvy could feel the rage building in her body, turning her eyes towards the mirror seeing her arms more clearly, snapping her eyes towards Lewis, "You want me to trade one life for another, I want to talk to him." Her eyes finding Luke's, it was in that moment she knew what was missing, love. Turning her eyes to the man that held her and the man she loved, "That's the deal, I talk to him."
Peter smiled widely, knowing that he had already put in her mind what he was going to say. Placing his hand on the tape, keeping his eyes on hers, "No matter what, we made a deal, you go back on it, I will gut him in front of you." Holding the scalpel against what she would see as his throat. Ripping the tape off its mouth, he watched as her mind started to interpret what he convinced her he was going to say.
Flinching a bit as he ripped off the tape, "Luke?" Her voice scared that this was real and not some elaborate illusion.
"Savanah, are you alright?"
Tilting her head, her eyes never leaving his, nothing in his showing anything but mild concern, holding her breath as an image flashed of Peter standing behind a dummy. Blinking rapidly, it was all starting to make a lot of sense, he placed these images in her head to get what he wanted, but there was only one way to really know for sure.
"No." Staring into his eyes, "This is almost worse than when you took me to the Jarhead Museum." Praying as she watched him try to answer, but hearing the response, never in her life had she felt more relief.
Peter didn't account for such a thing, but the programmed responses would work.
"Savanah, you can't give him their location."
Turning her head, her eyes finding the mirror, it was like everything snapped in her mind at once, blinking as the room truly came into focus, she was in a warehouse of some kind, not a doctor's office. Taking a second to look around, her arms became clear, nothing was there, moving down her body she could see that he didn't strap her legs down either.
Realizing that she had been quiet for too long, she turned back to Peter, who was holding a scalpel to a CPR dummy's neck. Blinking slowly, it was like her brain was finally rebooted, everything that had transpired since she first opened her eyes, he was so confident with his control over her that he didn't even think to strap her down. As that thought crossed her mind, she quickly formed a plan to get the fuck out of here, but not before she drove that scalpel into his neck.
Focusing on the dummy, it was imperative that he thought she was still under his thrall, "Luke, you are my friend, but I'm not a trained SEAL like you, I'm sorry." Snapping her eyes to Lewis, wanting to see if he realized that she said the wrong thing. But seeing him smile told her that she was right, whatever drugs that he had her under was no longer holding her hostage. "I'll help you, please, I don't want to die."
Placing the tape on the dummy's mouth, Peter dropped the scalpel onto the tray, "Let me secure him and I'll be right back." Slowly making his way out of the room, he pushed the wheelchair with the dummy into the corner, never more pleased with how quickly he was able to break her, and her beautiful mind was still intact. Reaching for the laptop, he couldn't help but feel giddy, finally he would know where Aaron was, and the next part of his plan was almost ready.
Savvy watched as he left the room, without missing a beat she jumped off the table and made her way towards the tray, desperate to get her hands on that scalpel, wrapping her fingers around it calmed her. Taking a deep breath, she knew that there was no way Peter Lewis was going to walk out of here alive, because he was far too dangerous to let live. While she wasn't sure how'd she was going to handle the aftermath of killing someone, in her mind it was worth her mental anguish to save someone else from his brand of torture. Closing her eyes, she could hear Agent Marks in her head telling her over and over to not overthink, just go with the flow. Hearing him shuffle his way back towards her, Savvy readied herself, because hell or high water she was taking him down.
Peter practically skipped towards her, his body was humming with excitement in just a few moments she was going to give him what he'd wanted for months, Aaron Hotchner. Making his way through the doorway, his eyes moved to look at her but frowned when he didn't see her on the table. Not getting a moment to even glance around the room, he was sent flying backwards, his body crashing to the floor. Looking up, he found her standing there, her eyes locked on him, "How?"
Gripping the scalpel a bit tighter, Savvy wanted nothing more than to taunt him like he had been taunting her for hours, but given that this was her first fight ever, she refused to let herself get caught up in that. Seeing him scramble to his feet, Savvy didn't waste another second overthinking what she needed to do, jumping at him, she lodged the scalpel into his shoulder, his screams echoed into the empty room that they were in. Pulling it out, she brought it down again in his chest, "You are a fucking monster!" she screamed out.
Kneeing her in the stomach, Peter backhanded her as hard as he could, using his leg to kick her away from his body, "YOU BITCH!" he screamed. Wrapping his hand around the knife that plunged into his shoulder, screaming as he attempted to work it out, yanking hard, he couldn't help but whimper as he finally was able to remove it. Pointing the bloody end at her, "I was going to let you go, live, and even keep your fucking sanity, but now, you're going to be nothing but a fucking vegetable."
Glancing down at herself, seeing that she was still wearing her skirt from work, gripping the fabric she ripped a large piece off, knowing that she needed to do everything she could to avoid the sharp end of the blade. Sticking out her chin, Savvy kept her eyes on his shoulders, knowing that was how she was going to be able to determine where he was going. Gasping a bit as he lunged, instincts to avoid being cut were causing her to back up and she hit a wall and had nowhere to go.
Slashing at her, Peter was a lot of things, being a skilled fighter was not one of them, but as he looked at Ms. Knight, she wasn't either. Knowing that he had the advantage of strength over her, he brought the scalpel down, wanting to put an end to this as quickly as he could. But he found her hands holding both of his wrists, preventing him from plunging it into her neck. Trying to use his size advantage, Peter brought his knee up to her rib, hoping that it would be enough to cause her to let go, but to his fucking surprise she didn't even budge. Lifting his leg again, he brought it up hard, however, he found her knee blocking him, that momentarily distracted him, which gave her the advantage.
Savvy bit her cheek as his knee connected to her ribs, but she absolutely refused to let go of his wrists, there was no way she was going to let this man beat her, kill her, or continue his reign of terror. Feeling his body shift, she knew that he was going to hit her again, bringing her leg up to block, she could see the surprise on his face, using that moment to her advantage, she brought her foot down on his shin. The moment her heel made contact, Savvy felt him lose a bit of balance, using her arms to push his hands up while keeping her hands wrapped around his wrist, she turned her body and brought the scalpel down into the wall that was behind her.
Connecting her elbow with his nose, she was taken by surprise by how loud the sound of his nose breaking was. Seeing that he let the knife go, Savvy put as much energy into her left hook as she could, it connected right above his temple. Seeing him stumble back, Savvy couldn't help but shake her fist, but pushing through that, knowing that she needed to either kill him or incapacitate him before he was able to collect himself. She launched herself at him, sending them both through the glass window and down the stairs.
Tumbling over the other, Savvy cried out as she felt her wrist snap, groaning as her body hit the hard concrete floor. As much as she hurt, she was grateful that her body had come to a stop, slowly turning her head, she could see that Peter was attempting to stand. Refusing to let him have the advantage, Savvy pushed herself up onto her knees, using the pillar that she was near to pull herself to a standing position. As she leaned against it, Savvy could feel something wet sliding down her face, lifting her hand cringing at the sight of the blood, lightly touching it, pleased to at least feel it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Sparing a momentary glance down at herself, her knees were scrapped to all hell, a few cuts on her arms, and a possible broken left wrist, not great but certainly not bad.
Hearing him grunt, her eyes snapped to his body, he looked a little worse off than she, his nose was broken, bits of glass were sticking out of his back, and of course the main injury to his shoulder that she caused with the scalpel. Not wanting him to give him another moment to collect himself, Savvy moved as quickly as she could, bringing her right hand across his jaw, using her foot kicking him into the wall, flinching a bit as she heard him scream out. She knew that the glass shards in his back just got pushed that much deeper, a part of her hoped that one of them was deep enough to pierce his lung, and the fucker drowned in his own blood.
Peter couldn't breathe, his eyes looking up to find hers watching him, turning his head slightly he could see a metal pipe, he knew that this was a losing battle, his only hope was to hit her in the head hard enough that it would disorient her, perhaps even kill her. He knew that his lungs were compromised, probably punctured if he had to guess based on his breathing, so if he was going to die in this warehouse, he would bring her with him. Slumping over, using his body to hide the fact that his fingers were wrapped around the pipe, he waited, hoping that she was going to come over and check his pulse.
Savvy stared at him, she could see that he was not moving, she didn't want to go near him again, but she knew that she needed to check to see if he was indeed dead, because she'd never be able to sleep. It was the knowing that he was no longer a threat to her family that prompted her to move. Taking several tentative steps towards him, her eyes never leaving his shoulders, as much as she wanted to believe that he was dead, Peter Lewis was a crafty bastard and there was no way she was going to be taken by surprise, at least not completely. Shuffling her feet, it was a very dangerous game of cat and mouse, both were of genius level intelligence and this moment was a testament to who was going to outthink the other.
Stopping about a foot from him, her eyes took in a micromovement from his head, like he tilted ever so slightly to hear where she was, without missing a beat she took a huge step back just as he rolled and took a huge swing at her. Screaming out as it connected with her knee, Savvy hit the ground hard, rolling onto her back, she scrambled back as quickly as she could, yelping as he made another attempt to hit her.
Peter rolled to his knees, annoyed that he did not crack her fucking skull open, but at least he got her leg. Using the pipe as a cane, he pulled himself to his feet, his eyes never leaving hers, "I wouldn't have guess that you would have put up this much of a fucking fight!" he yelled out. Slowly stalking towards her, hoping to see a little fear in her eyes, but instead all he got was anger and defiance. He couldn't move too fast, so she was able to get to her foot, his eyes zeroed in on her knee, smirking a bit as he could see that it was starting to swell. "I'm going to kill you." He growled.
Wiping some of the blood off her face, Savvy never took her eyes off him, using the pillar to brace herself against, she stuck out her chin, "Then do it, you fucking psycho."
Anger rolled off him, using what little energy he had, Peter launched himself at her, swinging the pipe as hard as he could.
It was like slow motion, Savvy watched as he moved towards her, his hand holding the pipe over his head, not wanting to have that thing come down on another part of her body, she pushed herself off the pillar meeting him halfway. Using her good hand to hold his arm with the pipe, she used the forearm of her other arm, bringing it across his face, hitting him two times before he head butted her. Falling back, hissing as the back of her head hit the concrete, looking up Savvy found him standing over her, blood pouring down his face, nose, and lips. A small sense of satisfaction pulsed through her veins, she didn't win but he didn't dominate her either, at least people would say she put up one hell of a fight.
Her vison started to get blurry, which she guessed was due to a concussion, attempting to focus on the man standing over her, refusing that in her final moments to let him see her cry. As the walls of her vision started to crash down around her, Savvy could see him lifting his hand over his, pipe in his hand. But as she watched as the pipe came down towards her, the resounding sounds of gunfire rang in her ears. Flinching as his blood splattered on her face, she watched as Peter's eyes rolled back in his head, hitting the ground with a loud thud, she watched as the light in his eyes went out.
Barely able to lift her head, she turned towards the shadows approaching her, but as much as she tried the blackness pulled her under, but she swore she heard Luke's voice calling out to her. It was her last thought before the nothingness had her, he came and he did what she couldn't, he put that animal down.
Rushing over to her, Luke dropped to his knees, his eyes taking in every inch of her, "I NEED A MEDIC!" he screamed out. Lifting her up into his arms, he didn't care about the team, all he cared about was getting her to a hospital. Seeing the EMT pull out the gurney, Luke gently placed her on it, his fingers threading with hers, "Hang on baby," he said, his voice cracking, "Don't worry mi paloma, I got you." Feeling tears run down his face, his eyes never left her body, and it wasn't until the doctors stood in front of him keeping him from heading back to the OR did he leave his sight.
Falling into the chair, Luke kept his hands on his face, praying to anyone and everyone that she was going to pull through.
