Tala Yuhi Chapter 8, a naruto fanfic

In the Jonin meeting hall of the Hokage tower, Jonin and chunin have gathered. Eight Jonin stand up in front of the group congregating in the center of the hall as others line the walls. The Third Hokage is setting at the top of the short steps looking down at them. "The genin that are assigned to team seven, are Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto Uzumaki, and Tala Yuhi. I'll be placing Kakashi Hatake in charge of this team." Genma smirks and looks to his right at Izumo. "You know what I heard? That Kakashi has never passed a group of genin he's been placed in charge of before." With Genma's words, Izumo looks over towards him as Iruka tries to act like he isn't listening. "Is the Hokage trying to prevent Naruto from advancing or something?" Kotetsu looks at the two talking. "And Sasuke too?" Iruka gasps slightly before looking towards the back of Kakashi's head.

"Understood Kakashi?" The Hokage looks up from the papers he's holding in his hands towards the Jonin. "Yes, sir." Kakashi answers quietly thinking about the last name the Hokage had listed. "Team eight will be Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame. Kurenai Yuhi will be in charge of those three." Kurenai grunts with surprise before standing up straight. " , sir." She answers quietly. "Now Kurenai, this is your first time being in charge of genin, isn't it? Keep in mind the Jonin in charge will decide their future." He informs her causing Kurenai to nod. "Right, I'll be careful with them sir."

"Now, you do understand why your little sister is not on your team, correct?" The Hokage questions causing her eyes to widen a moment. "Yes sir. If families are placed on the same team as one another it would cause problems in the different roles each member takes on. It is likely the family members will worry more about each other rather than their team or the success of the mission." She responds causing the Hokage to smile behind his pipe. "Now team ten genin are. Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi. I am placing Asuma Sarutobi in charge of them." The Third no sooner finishes before Asuma speaks up. "Roger."

Shortly after all the genin were listed and given Jonin, the Hokage stands calling out for Kakashi's attention. "I would like to take you to Naruto's home so you can get an idea of his position." Kakashi nearly sighs but he gives a single short nod. "Right." He utters out before turning. "This will be the first time you've seen Tala since, is it not?" The Hokage questions as he walks with Kakashi out of the building. "Yeah.." He sighs thinking about the infant he had at his place for four months. "I hate to say this, but don't think you can start all over with her." The Hokage speaks up causing Kakashi to grunt and look at the older man.

"According to Shinku, there is nothing she doesn't remember. She may not talk about her time before becoming a part of his family but she can remember the studies he had taught her just after joining them. It is likely she remembers you too. She has remained at the top of her class ever since the third year she was in the academy. We do not know why her grades suddenly changed or even her opposition towards her classmates. Just as Shinku stated that when she was four she suddenly stopped training with him and began to venture into the village on her own. For three years she appeared to be unfocused with learning from him but when he had begun testing her skills again it was as if she had continued her training and even progressed."

"So you're thinking that somehow she was training either on her own or she had found someone else she wanted to learn from." Kakashi speaks quietly. "Yes, I am mentioning this because the timing of her abrupt change in her actions along with her grades, collates with the night that changed Sasuke Uchiha as well." Kakashi grunts as he falls into thought. With what the Hokage is suggesting numerous possibilities could have caused this change in Tala. The most probable of reasons involve the Uchiha. "Could he have done something to her?" He questions himself aloud.

Walking up to the room Tala was told the genin were meeting in. Tala pauses outside the door watching the two girls arguing about who made it first. "Give it up, I had to look back to see you, my toe was at least a tenth of an inch ahead." Sakura snaps at Ino as she tries to fight her way through the door. They both do look worn out which made her curious how far they had actually run. If just across the village then they seriously needed to work on their stamina. Who am I kidding both of them never showed much promise in the academy anyway. As if they need to train day in and day out for an entire month to even catch up to the weakest members of our graduating class. "Have you always been this delusional?" The blond asks. Tala watches as the pink-haired girl turns towards the classroom gasping before giving a giggle and running down the desks towards someone. "Hey whoa, where ya going?"

And there she goes, running after Sasuke like the fan girl she is. Oh well, at least the door is no longer being blocked. Stepping inside Tala glances around looking for a head of bright blond hair. However, she felt herself sigh as she saw her target setting beside Sasuke. Tala closes her eyes a moment, ignoring the staring coming from one Sasuke Uchiha. Only further reminding her of what she had told him before the final exams. She puts her hands into her pockets as she manages to wiggle past the growing girls to sit next to her friend. "Hey! what do you think you're doing Tala?! We were here first!" One of the girls yells before she opens her eyes and looks up at them. "I'm sitting next to my friend. Since I do not see anyone who actually cares for you at this desk you should move on so you don't look like idiots." She utters out causing the girls to growl out in anger as Naruto laughs. Sasuke smirks as he moves his attention over to the windows. She had a point.

Eventually, with her refusing to move or even pay any mind to the girls, they fan out mumbling under their breaths. Sakura however sets down next to her with a sigh. "There are no other seats left." She pouts causing a smirk to wrinkle Tala's mask. "Do not worry, you're not as annoying as those other girls, so I won't force you to move." She points out and leans forward, resting her elbow on the desk and placing her chin in her hand as she closes her eyes again.

"We want each squad to have a balance of strength and ability. So that's how we set them up." Iruka Sensei explains pulling Genin out of their conversations that had begun to grow with the lack of their teacher. Iruka then looks at the papers in his hand. "I will now announce the squads." Tala nearly sighs opening her eyes to glance at Naruto who was now wiggling in his seat nervously. "Calm down Naruto. I've already figured out what teams they've set up from watching them this year. We'll be on the same team."

"Oh, right! I hope so! We make a good team!" Naruto whisper shouts as he rubs the back of his head with a closed-eye chuckle. To Tala, it's not that they make a good team. Tala herself had proven over the years that she would put herself with Naruto every time they were given the choice. She adapts well to her friend and helped him succeed in the class. Any other teams he's been placed on haven't been so successful. "Squad 7!" Iruka Sensei calls pulling Tala from her thoughts. "Naruto Uzumaki." Iruka Sensei pauses a moment as Naruto gives a nervous grunt. "Sakura Haruno." Naruto cheers for joy as he stands and shoots his arms into the air momentarily. Oh yay…. "Sasuke Uchiha." Great now Sakura is yelling victory. So annoying. "And Tala Yuhi." Tala smiles slightly behind her hand. She knew it. This was the exact team they continually kept reverting back to throughout the year.

"Iruka Sensei, why does a great ninja like me have to be in the same group with a slug, like Sasuke!" Naruto's yell had Tala wincing a bit as she closes her eyes again. She can already hear Sakura growling on the other side of her in annoyance. "Tala is the student who graduated with the best scores out of all of the graduating class, Naruto you had the worst scores. To create a balanced group we put the best students with the worst students."

"Basically stating, Naruto and I are on the same team because I balance him out. Sasuke is on the team because he balances out Sakura. They placed the two best in the class on the same team as the two weakest in the class." Tala explains in a way Naruto can understand causing Naruto's eyes to widen. "Woah, Tala. You really are the best!" Tala gives a shrug not saying anything more. "Just make sure you don't get in my way." Sasuke says a bit condescendingly. "Loser."

"Hey, what did you say?!" Naruto shouts as he suddenly stands glaring at Sasuke. "Hard of hearing?" Sasuke pokes a bit with a smirk hidden by his hands folded near his face. "Knock it off Naruto set down!" Sakura snaps at Naruto as Iruka Sensei clears his throat. "After lunch, you will meet your new Jonin teachers. Until then class dismissed." Iruka Sensei informs us causing everyone to start getting up to leave.

Tala stands and slips her hands back into her pockets following Sakura out of the room with Naruto behind her and Sasuke behind him. "I wonder if we will have my sister as our Jonin leader." Tala utters out quietly causing Naruto to laugh. "That'd be so cool!" Hn, Sasuke grunts and looks away as Naruto puts his hands behind his head. "It's not likely. I'd think they'd refrain from putting siblings together." Sasuke points out with a bit of irritation lacing his words. "That makes sense, it was just a possibility anyway from a fleeting thought."

Once they were outside Sakura disappeared after Sasuke took off leaving Naruto chasing after Sakura. Sighing Tala moves away from the academy to go get lunch from somewhere in the village. More leaning towards the Barbeque restaurant or even some Dangos from the tea shop. Her genin outfit consisted of a black sleeveless shirt and black cargo shorts. She was wearing white wraps on her arms and legs enhancing the white headband strapped to her head. Her black sandals tap against the road quietly breaking the otherwise silence around her.

"He knows about my feelings and he purposely tries to get in the way... He enjoys interfering and making me feel bad... Naruto. He doesn't understand one single thing about me. He's just annoying... All I really want is for you to accept me Sasuke. That's all." Sakura's voice broke Tala out of her thoughts causing her to sigh as she slips her hands into her pockets. Walking down the road back towards the academy after having eaten. "You just want me to. Accept you?" Sasuke's voice reaches her as she stops just down the road from them, seeing Sasuke and Sakura setting on a bench looking at each other.

" , that's how I feel. I'd do anything for that." Tala tilts her head watching as their cheeks turn red before Sasuke gets up suddenly. "Hey, what's the matter?" Sakura questions just before he runs off on her, holding his stomach. "I.I'll be right back!" He calls moving in the opposite direction as Tala herself was standing. "I didn't know that Sasuke was so shy. Maybe he needs a little time to get ready." Sakura places a finger against her lips as Tala quietly walks closer. "Are you really that blind?" She questions causing the pinket to flinch and look in her direction. "Tala? What are you doing here? Oh wait, you were spying on us just now weren't you?!" Sakura yells as she points her right index finger at her. Tala raises a hand to the back of her neck and sighs.

"One, I don't need to explain myself to you. Doing such a thing is useless. However, you should know that wasn't Sasuke. Try as he might, Naruto just can't act like the raven-haired boy." She gives a shrug and drops her hands to her sides. "You think you don't?! We all have known you have a crush on Sasuke! That's why you try and get his attention by one-upping him all the time!" Tala simply shakes her head. I really walked into it this time.

Tala almost groans. "Think what you want." She sighs as she pauses in her walking. "But so you know, that reaction wasn't one from a person who is shy. That was clearly stomach problems. He ran for the bathroom." She then walks away from Sakura. "You always act like you're better than me! Well, you aren't you know that?!" Sakura suddenly stands and stomps her foot on the ground. Tala stops a moment and looks over her shoulder toward the girl. "I don't have to act. It's the truth." She then turns and continues on her way watching the skies above her.

"You're here?! How'd you get loose?" Naruto's voice reaches her as he comes skidding to a stop in front of Sasuke. "I used the escape jutsu, it's a very basic technique. Remember that next time, loser." Sasuke informs him as he walks around Naruto. "What?!" Naruto then closes his eyes and grits his teeth growling in his aggravation. He then disappears as Tala's gaze moves towards the chirping birds flying above her as she continues walking.

"Hey! Sasuke!" Naruto shouts as he runs past Tala. Anger burning in his blue eyes. Tala stops walking as she moves her gaze ahead of her seeing Naruto stop in front of Sasuke. Panting with his hands clenched into fists as he glares at Sasuke. "You jerk! You said something mean to Sakura didn't you!" Sasuke averts his eyes a moment with a humph before looking back to Naruto. "Not really."

"Liar! If you didn't say something then there's no way that she'd be as sad as she is!" Sasuke looks away from Naruto as the blond cringes. "Listen, I hate to say it, all Sakura wants is for you to accept her Sasuke." Sasuke goes to turn away from the blond. "Like I care." He begins walking away causing Naruto to shake. "What?!" He then growls reaching out and catching Sasuke's shoulder and turning him back around. "You jerk!" Naruto shouts as he goes to punch him only for Sasuke to block his arm and throw Naruto over his shoulder. Sending him rolling on the ground.

"What do you think you're doing?" Sasuke questions watching as Naruto gets back to his feet. "What does it look like? I'm taking you down! It's payback for making Sakura feel bad." He then raises his hands in a hand sign. "Shadow clone jutsu!" He shouts just as a large puff of smoke erupts around him, he runs to face off against Sasuke. Once the smoke disperses there were six Naruto's running side by side and yelling out in his anger. Tala sighs moving to the side of the road and setting on the stone wall lining the cobblestone beneath her feet. This is going to take a while, and she knows if she goes to continue forward she will only get caught up in the fight. She closes her eyes listening to the sounds of hand-to-hand fighting.

"What's wrong? Afraid to come at me one on one?" Sasuke questions, just before there were some sounds of rustling. "Hey.. let me go." He grunts as Naruto chuckles. "Ha! you totally fell for it! Take this!" He shouts. "Hey! it's me!" Naruto's voice shouts in surprise just before a smack sounds from a punch landing solidly.

The sounds of screaming echo just as loud popping sounds echo before it sounded like someone hit the ground and rolled. "Don't you think that was a little over the top?" Sasuke questions lightly. Naruto then laughs a bit. "Got a little excited I guess... Hey! Wait a minute! How'd you get over there?! Hey, get back here!" Naruto shouts just before a multitude of running feet sounds against the road. "You're annoying too, you know that?" Sasuke calls out as he runs up a tree.

Tala opens her eyes and looks over towards them to see Sasuke flinging shuriken down at the Naruto's chasing him. Each one of them pops as they are nailed with the weapons just before Naruto continues running in behind them towards the raven-haired boy. Only stopping once Sasuke lands with his back to him. After a moment of thought, Naruto runs for the male Uchiha, his hands raising in the same sign he used for his shadow clones before suddenly changing the sign. "Ha! Sexy jutsu!" He shouts just before he transforms into a woman wearing an orange bikini with long blond hair. A bead of sweat builds at Tala's temple silently glad he took her advice and added clothes this time. The female Naruto giggles lightly. "Hiya Sasuke." She sings with her arms beneath her large breasts in a way it lifts them up a bit pressing them further together. As Sasuke doesn't move and just stares at the blond. The girl smiles briefly before raising her fist. "I got you!" She shouts. Just then Sasuke's right hand pulls on something causing a shuriken to pull from the ground behind Naruto and sticks right into his female rear.

Tala blinks a bit watching this happen before she reaches up and covers her hidden mouth as she quietly laughs. "Ouch, that hurts!" Naruto whimpers reaching towards his butt causing the shuriken to dislodge and he begins running around holding the spot. "Ow. ow. ow ow ow ow!" He howls in pain. Tala slides off of the stone wall and walks toward the two of them. "Heh." Sasuke gives a chuckle and goes to walk away drawing Naruto's teary eyes toward him. "Sasuke get back here we're not finished yet!"

"Yes, you are. He won." Tala pipes up as she stops in front of Naruto and closes her eyes a moment drawing both of their gazes to her. "We need to go before we're late to meet our Jonin." She utters out before opening her eyes. Her gaze moves over both of them before she starts walking again. "Naruto!" Sakura shouts "We've gotta go!" She smiles before running to catch up to the two raven hair already walking. "Right, wait for me!" Naruto whimpers as he hops after them. "Oh, I know. Tala." He suddenly pipes up giving up on his hopping to walk. "You could take my mind off of it by singing like you used to!" He calls drawing her gaze over her shoulder to him as Sasuke and Sakura looks at her curiously. She then sighs meeting Naruto's hopeful gaze. "I haven't sang in five years." She sighs. "Alright, because you asked." Tala then closes her eyes hearing the music in her mind and within her heart. Songs she had long since memorized that continue to play for her.

Tala opens her eyes and glances at Naruto over her shoulder with a small smile wrinkling her mask.

Sasuke's eye twitches with her lyrics as he watches her raise her right hand and it curls into her shirt against her chest above her heart as she looks ahead of herself with a distant look in her gaze. Remembering back to the laughs and jokes. To the conversations, she would have with him.

Tala glances to her right towards Sasuke before closing her eyes again.

-"For both of my brothers... I will uphold your wills... and protect the village." Hearing her words Itachi looks over his shoulder towards her as tears brim his eyes.-

-"Big brother, I can see something is on your mind." She points out as she jumps up onto the ledge of the cliff again, landing next to him. Her hands slip into her pockets as she closes her eyes a moment. "Oh, it's nothing. I was just thinking about Itachi and Sasuke. What a coup would do to their family." Tala nods and raises her gaze as she looks towards the trees, Sasuke's white shorts sticking out like a sore thumb against the brown and green around him as he walks with Itachi. "Yeah, a coup will destroy everything we know and love. Not just in your clan." She sighs before looking toward him. "I'll see you tomorrow hopefully, big brother." She then smiles and steps up to him closing her eyes. "You know, the bond between Itachi and Sasuke. Reminds me a lot of us."-
