I don't own RWBY. I own OC's.
Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.
Monster King: Thank you and I will! :)
The weekend following the breach had come and it was Saturday noon right now. David, Yang, Blake and Weiss were in their dorm right now, all of them occupied with their own stuff right now as all of them were using this time to relax after this rather eventful week. Ruby was nowhere to be seen in the dorm right now, having gone to the library to read the comic she started reading yesterday. David had no idea what the comic was because Ruby was too busy reading to tell him what kind of comic was.
The brown haired young man kept his eyes on the ceiling, keeping to himself right now. He didn't want to bother his roommates with anything as all of them were busy with their own stuff right now. Blake was reading a book on her bunk right now, Yang was looking at something on her scroll and Weiss was looking at some of her notes from Doctor/ Oobleck's class. David closed his eyes, leaving himself with his thoughts as he continued to keep to himself right now.
He was pushed out of his thoughts shortly after, having just felt his vibrate ring in his pants. He opened his eyes and reached into his pocket, pulling his scroll out of it. He lifted it up closer to his face, wanting to have a better look at it and unlocked it to see who had just sent him a message. He smiled as soon as he saw who he had just received a text message from, feeling himself becoming happy at the view of it because it was from Neo.
The Ice Cream Gremlin: Hey. Do you have any plans today?
David's smile grew wider as soon as he read her message, knowing he just found a perfect way to spend his Saturday. Not wasting any time, he immediately typed his answer to her.
David Miller: Alright. Color me convinced.
David Miller: What do you have in mind?
The Ice Cream Gremlin: How about we go grab something to eat? My treat.
David Miller: Wow. Someone is feeling generous today, huh?
The Ice Cream Gremlin: You can consider it my way of making up to you for not being able to go to the dance at your school with you :)
David Miller: Alright :)
The Ice Cream Gremlin: Sooo. We meet at our usual place?
David Miller: Yup.
The Ice Cream Gremlin: Alright. I'm on my way there as well :)
David Miller: I'll see you there :)
David turned off his scroll and put it in his pocket. He got up from his bed right after, stretching his arms over his head, "Everyone. I'll heading into Vale to hang out with my friend. I'll be back in a few hours."
Blake nodded at him, keeping her eyes glued to her book, "Alright."
Weiss looked over her shoulder, taking her eyes off her notes for a second, "Just try not to come back too late today. Last time when you were hanging out with her, you barely made it in time for the last Bullhead."
"Thanks for the concern, mom." David smiled at Weiss, teasing her a bit as Weiss rolled her eyes at how he just called her.
Yang put her scroll aside and crossed her arms with a smirk on her face, "Just let us know if we won't come back for the night."
David rolled his eyes, slightly smilling, "Of course. I should have expected something like this from you before I'll head out."
"You know me so well, David. I'm almost flattered." Yang's smirk grew wider, keeping her arms closer, "You know my concerns are perfectly valid, though. Your friend may have heard about what happened during the breach and may reward you from keeping the city safe from Grimm~."
Weiss blushed slightly at her words, burying her face in her hands, "Yang? Can you not talk about it out loud?"
Yang shifted her gaze to her, "What. You were thinking about it too?"
Weiss shook her head, "No, I didn't!"
"Yes. You did." Yang teased Weiss and shifted her gaze to Blake, "Blakey probably thought about it too, considering what kind of books she is reading."
Blake blushed slightly in embarassment at the mention of the type of books she was reading and buried her head further into her book, "No. I didn't."
Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose in frustation, "Yang. Can you stop with this?"
"Fine." Yang reluctantly gave in and set her eyes back on David. She shook her head to herself after seeing how she did not fluster him one bit, "Dammit. You're not even slightly flustered?"
David shrugged his shoulders, "Remember Yang. I'm the one who makes people flustered. Not the other way around."
Yang smirked at him, knowing she had a perfect retort to this,"Really? What happened back at the dance? You looked pretty flustered when you were having that battle dance with Sun and the rest."
David glanced to the side, pointing out to her, "It was mostly because I was dying on the inside when you signed me up for this."
"You were still flustered nevertheless." Yang pointed out to him in return, her smirk refusing to leave her face.
"If you say so." David rolled his eyes and stepped closer to the exit from the dorm, "I should ge..."
His words died in his throat as the exit to the dorm was opened by someone other than him and Ruby bursted into the dorm with her fist raised in the air, "Everyone! I just have the most important announcement to make!"
Weiss looked at her questioningly, "Announcement?"
"Will it be quick? I was about to head off." David wanted to know, pointing towards the door behind Ruby to clarify his point.
"It will be quick." Ruby nodded in confirmation, excitement evident in her voice and on her face at the announcement she was about to make.
"Alright." David nodded as Yang, Blake and Weiss stopped what they were doing right now and walked over to him and Ruby, gathering in front of the latter.
Yang raised her brow, "What do you have to say, sis?"
Ruby cleared her throat, putting her hand on her chest as she began her speech to her teammates and her roommate, "It's been a few months since I came here to Beacon Academy. I got a rough start, but now I have friends that I can laugh fight and fight alongside with..."
"Where is she going with this?" Weiss whispered to David and David shrugged his shoulders.
"But there's still someone missing from my life!" A large smile grew on her face as she raised her first in the air, "And that someone is a boyfriend!"
David, Yang, Weiss and Blake stared at her blankly, all of them having not expected Ruby to go with something like this out of all things as Ruby proceeded to keep her first raised in the air, her large smile refusing to leave her face. She must have either failed to notice the looks everyone gave her right now or simply ignored them. It was probably the former, considering it was Ruby.
Weiss facepalmed, breaking the silence between them, "...Uh, what's wrong with this girl?"
Blake put her hand on her chin in thought, "Hmm. I think I know. She was reading a romance comic last night and she's easily influenced by such things."
David crossed his arms, "Color me suprised. I thought Ruby was into action comics."
Yang nodded in agreement, "You and me both and I'm her sister."
"Well, she may not seem like this it, but she's a romantic at heart." Blake told them as Weiss silently stared at Ruby with a blank look on her face.
"Ruby a romantic?" David looked suprised by it as something like this about Ruby never crossed his mind, "You can color me suprised..."
"That sounded like a diss..." Ruby muttered under her breath, sweatdropping as her good mood immediately returned to her face and offered her sister and friends a thumbs up, "Anyway! I want to experience the bitter sweet romances of youth! I want my heart to race with love!"
Yang stared at her sister for a few seconds and shook her head, "That's impossible. You're a tomboy!"
"Huh?! Look who's talking!" Ruby pointed out as she set her eyes on David, "I'll show you I can do it right here right now!"
David didn't fail to notice the way Ruby looked at him right now, "...Ummm, Ruby?"
Ruby quickly walked over to David, finding herself extremely close to him and looked up at him, "David! You are into comics..."
"Manga." David corrected her, "Comic industry in my world sucks now."
"...Manga and are rather cute!" Ruby went along with his correction and continued. She paused for a moment, realizing something about David, "Right! What about your friend from Vale? I almost forgot about her!" She buried her face in her hands, excitement radiating off her, "If I get involved, then it will create a classic love triangle!"
"Don't forget about Nyx from Cinder's team!" Yang added.
Weiss elbowed her, not wanting this situation to escalate, "Don't encourage her."
"Right! Nyx from Cinder's team in there as well!" Ruby nodded at her sisters, finding herself growing more excited at the possible love scenario growing in her mind. She gasped in pure excitement, "Then, it won't be a classic love triangle! It will be a fourway type of moment and David will be forced to choose between one of us and perharps if he'll struggle to choose only one, then...!
David looked at Ruby like she was crazy, "Ruby. Stop."
Ruby looked disappointed by his answer, "Come on! What problem do you see with it?"
"Actually Ruby I see a few problems with this." David admitted as Ruby looked at him questioningly, "Firstly, did you forgot I'm legally an adult and dating you would mean I'm seeing a minor which is something frowned upon by the society and it would result in my social death. Secondly, the same goes for my friend who is three years older than me."
Ruby pouted in disappointment, "I see. Such an awesome love scenario goes to waste..."
"Ruby. Why are you doing all this love talk in the first place? You have a boyfriend." Weiss pointed out, referring to Ruby's scythe.
"No! I'm talking about a human boyfriend!" Ruby pointed out as she turned away from them and walked over to the door to her and their dorm. She opened it and walked out of the dorm, closing the door behind her, "Forget you all...!"
David shook his head as soon as Ruby walked out of the dorm, "She's gone mad."
"Where did she go?" Blake raised her brow.
"I wouldn't be suprised if she went off to find a boyfriend." Weiss shook her head, "What a lunatic." Yang giggled, causing her and everyone else to look at her. The white haired girl looked at her questioningly, "Huh? What's wrong?"
Yang smiled fondly, "She was so timid when she first enrolled here. But now, she's out looking for a boyfriend. Even though, she can still be distant and withdrawn sometimes. I'm happy she's changed for the better."
Blake put her hand on her chin, "Hmm. When you put it like that."
Weiss sighed, "Too bad she's still as childish as ever."
"She still has a few years of education here." David pointed out to Weiss, "Maybe she will become mature enough by your standards at some point."
Weiss once again sighed, "Here's hoping."
"Alright. I should get going. I'll see all of you in a few hours." David said goodbye to his roommates for the next few hours, earning nods from Yang, Weiss and Blake as he stepped closer to the exit from his and team RWBY's dorm and walked out of it. He closed the door behind him and pushed himself into walk, making his way to the Bullhead which he would use to get to Vale where he will hang out with Neo again.
David walked along the sidewalk somewhere in Vale as he proceeded to make his way towards his and Neo's usual meeting spot, walking past many people and faunus in the process. He passed the corner and looked around himself, having recognized this part of Vale as he had been here many times at this point. It didn't took him long to find a familiar person in the form of Neo waiting for him in front of a building. Neo caught the sight of him as well and smiled at him slightly from where she stood right now.
He walked over to her and looked at her with a smile on her face, "Hey."
Neo nodded at him as she pulled out her scroll and typed to him, "Hey. It's good to see you."
"Yeah. It's good to see you too." David nodded back at her, "You have no idea how glad I was when I saw your message. This week was rather tough to me and I could use a hangout like this to relax a bit."
"Yeah. I know." Neo typed to him, "I heard about the breach and heard Beacon students were involved it. Figured out there was a possibility you were involved in it."
David nodded in understanding, "I see."
"You have no idea how glad I was when you told me we can hang out today, though." Neo stated as David raised his brow in an interested manner at thie message, "This week tough for me as well. You know. Work and stuff."
David looked at her questioningly, "Really? What happened in your job?"
"I don't know to talk about it." Neo brushed his concerns off.
"Alright." David nodded, understanding why Neo didn't want to talk about her tough week at work, "Alright. Where are we going to eat now?"
Neo nodded in confirmation, "Yeah. There's a restaurant we haven't been to, yet and they sell good pasta there."
David looked at her with an interested look on his face at the mention of pasta, "Pasta?"
Neo smiled at his reaction, "Yup. I remembered you telling me once how you like to eat pasta and this place popped into my mind as soon as I got this thought. So. Do you want to go there or will be find some other place?"
"Sure. Let's go there." David smiled back at her, liking this suggestion as he actually felt his mouth slightly water up at the thought of eating pasta. He hadn't ate it in a long time and he knew he couldn't pass this opportunity.
Neo turned away from him, making a gesture with her hand for him to follow her and David followed her. Not wasting any time, both of them started to make their way towards the restaurant, walking next to each other as they intended to reach it and have their food there as soon as possible. It didn't took them long, several minutes to be exact, to reach their destination and both of them walked into the restaurant upon making their way to it.
David and Neo stopped in their tracks right after making their way into the restaurant, allowing themselves to take a good look around it in order to notice an empty table for both of them. After locating all of the empty table in the place and making a mental note where they were, Neo pushed herself into walk towards the counter in front of him and David followed her towards it, following what she was doing right now as, unlike Neo, he hadn't been in this place before.
Upon making their way to the counter, they were immediately approached by a man who asked them about their order. David nodded to himself, now understanding why Neo went to the counter right away as this was where the orders must have been made in this place. After both of them gave him their order, both of which were pasta with a sauce, he voiced his understanding of it and told them to pay for the order. Neo nodded back at him, immediately pulling out her wallet and paying for her order. The man left to prepare their food right after, telling them to wait for it for a few moments.
David and Neo nodded at him, patiently waiting for their food and the man from behind the counter returned to them with two plates with their food shortly after. He set the two plates on the counter in front of David and Neo and asked them if they wanted any cheese with their pasta. David and Neo nodded at him as both of them were interested in this addition to their food, with David taking a lot of cheese for his pasta and Neo taking just a little bit of it. Both of them made their way to the first empty table right after, taking their seats opposite from each other.
Neo set down on her plate on the table and set her eyes on David's plate of pasta. What caught her attention was the amount of cheese David wanted added to it. She pulled out her scroll and quickly typed on it before setting it down on the table and sliding it closer to David. After making sure it was close enough for him, she pointed towards his plate of food with a questioning look on her face as David looked down at message she had just written for him on her scroll.
Her message said, "Wow. You really like a lot of cheese on your pasta?"
"Yup." David nodded in confirmation, smilling as he was more than ready to dig into his food, "Just makes it way tastier."
Neo grabbed her scroll and typed the next message to him, "If you say so. I like some cheese on my pasta as well but for me that amount of cheese is overkill."
"Look at how you do with ice cream." David pointed out to her as Neo raised her brow at him, making him explain it to her, "For me, the amount of ice cream you eat is too much, and for you, the amount of cheese I take in pasta is too much."
"Alright. Fair enough." Neo nodded at David as she shifted her gaze from him to her plate of pasta and gestured to it, telling him they should dig into their food before it gets cold without saying or typing anything to him,
"Yeah. Let's dig in." David agreed with her as he looked down at his own plate of food and picked up his fork. Not wasting any time, he dig into his food and smiled to himself as soon as he tasted his pasta, enjoying the taste of it. He swallowed the pasta he had on his mouth right now and smiled at Neo, "So good. I'm barely ever disappointed when it comes to food like this."
Neo smiled slightly at him, typing on her scroll, "Barely?"
"Yeah." David confirmed to her, "There was one place when I had a pasta and they really messed it up."
Neo nodded in understanding as she looked down at her own portion of pasta and grabbed her fork before tasting it herself. She smiled to himself, understanding David's reaction to it as she continued to eat her food. David wasted no time as well and proceeded to eat his food as well. Both of them remained like this for the next few minutes, eating their food in a comfortable silence as they allowed themselves to enjoy what they were eating right now.
David and Neo finished their portions of pasta a few minutes later and leaned back in their seats. Neo leaned back in her seat after finishing her portion of pasta and stretched her arms above her head with a satisfied smile on her face, having enjoyed her meal before reaching out to grab her scroll. David looked at her questioningly, beginning to think Neo wanted to type something to him and his suspicion was confirmed a second later as Neo began to tap her fingers on her scroll's screen.
She held the scroll out to David a few seconds later, "Well, that was tasty."
"Yup. Thanks for taking me to this place." David voiced his gratitude to Neo as Neo smiled at him. He looked at her questioningly right after, "Are you sure you want to pay for everything? I can return some money for this meal to you."
Neo shrugged his concerns off, "Don't worry. Consider it my way of making up to you for not being able to go to the dance at your school with you."
"Alright." David nodded at her, "If that's the case, then thanks again for taking me here."
Neo nodded back at him and looked at him with a curious look on her face a few seconds later, "Speaking of your school dance, how did it go? You didn't actually tell me how it went other than the short description you gave me when I texted you during it."
David stayed silent for a few seconds, knowing he can't really go into details for two reasons. Firstly, it was because he knew he couldn't tell her the encounter he had with Ruby with an unknown woman in the communication tower as he knew he couldn't tell it to a civilian like her and he doubted Neo was involved with the woman from the communication tower. Secondly, it was because he didn't want to tell her about the dance battle with Sun, Mercury, Neon and Resse that he was forced into by Yang for all the obvious reasons.
"...To be honest I don't think I have much to say other than what I already told you during the dance." He gave Neo his answer a few seconds later, deciding not to give her much details about it and tell her about the stuff he knew he could tell her about and the stuff he knew he wanted to tell her about, "I talked with a few people there and there, both from my friends and some people I haven't talked with before and took several photos with my friends at the photo booth set up by the school."
Neo looked at him with an interested look on her face, "Photos? Do you have them by any chance?"
David shook his head, "No. They still haven't came to Beacon."
Neo nodded, slightly disappointed by it, "I see. A shame."
"I'll make sure to sent them to you in a text message after they will come, though." David told her, making a mental note of it when he and his friends will receive the photos they had taken of each other during the dance.
Neo's expression lit up at this, "Yay! You better keep your word, mister!"
"I'll do my best not to forget about it." David nodded as Neo nodded back at him and clapped her hands in a satisfied manner. It was when David noticed something about her. It was her hands. Neo was not wearing her usual black gloves today, allowing him to see her friends and how her nails were painted. Much to his suprise, her nails were painted in the exactly same way as her hair was.
Neo raised her brow at him as she noticed they way she was staring at her right now, her expression saying, "What?"
David gestured to Neo's hand, "You even paint your nails like this?"
"Yeah. A woman has to keep up with her style, you know?" Neo smirked at him, showing off her painted nails to him after typing this message to him. She looked at him questioningly right after, "You just noticed it, though? It's not the first time I have them painted like this when I hang out with you."
"Everytime when I see you, your hands are covered by gloves." David pointed out to her.
Neo looked at him with a thoughtful look on her face and nodded at him a few seconds later, having realized she had indeed almost kept her hands covered by her black gloves whenever she was hanging out with David, "Alright. It makes why you wouldn't notice this earlier. I do keep my hands gloved for most of the time."
"Why don't you have your gloves on today, though?" David asked out of curiosity.
Neo shrugged and typed on her scroll, "I must have forgotten to put them on when I was leaving my apartament."
David nodded in understanding and looked at her questioningly, "So. Now that we ate our food, do you have any idea where to go next? Should we go play arcades or to the mall to check out the stores or somewhere else?"
Neo put her hand on her chin in thought, trying to come up with a place where she and David could go next and a smile formed on her face a few seconds later as she felt an idea pop into her mind. She snapped her fingers, pointing at him and quickly typed on her scroll, "Oh, I think I have a good place for us to hang out next."
David looked at her in interest, "Really? What place do you have in mind?"
"It's a new one. A place where we haven't been to so far." Neo explained to David, making him more interested.
"Okay. Color me interested." He admitted to her, "What kind of place did you came up with?"
Neo smiled at him mysteriously, "It's a mystery. You'll find out when we'll go there."
"A mystery, huh." David chuckled in an amused manner as Neo nodded in confirmation, "Alright, then. Let's do it your way."
Neo nodded at him, looking forward to see his reaction to the place she had just came up with, "So. Are we going now?"
"Yeah. Let's go." David nodded back at her as he got up from his seat and picked up his empty plate, "Come on. Let's go return the plates before we'll leave to the place you had thought of right now."
Neo nodded at him, picking up her own plate and both of them went to the place in the restaurant where the clients return their empty plates. After returning their plates, both of them left the restaurant and pushed themselves into walk in the direction of the place where they will spend their time next. David walked next to Neo, making sure to follow her as he felt himself growing more curious about the place she had came up with and what kind of place it will be.
After leaving the restaurant where both of them had their pasta, David stayed close to Neo as he followed her throughout Vale towards the place where they were going to hang out next. The brown haired young man looked around himself, having just stepped into part of Vale with Neo and narrowed his eyes at his surroundings as something on the back of his head was telling him he had been here before at one point. He just couldn't remember when it was for now, though.
He got the answer to all the questions bothering him a few minutes later as he and Neo stopped in front of a familiar looking club. David recognized this place right away, remembering how he and Yang went here once in search for information about Torchwick and it gave him the answer to why this part of Vale seemed and felt similiar to him. Not wasting any time, he followed Neo towards the club as he saw two Junior's men standing in front of the front entrance.
"Good to know they're not running away into the club this time." The brown haired young man thought to himself, remembering how the said two men rushed into the club when he was here with Yang in fear of Yang doing something to them.
He shifted his gaze away from the entrance to the club as Neo poked him on his arm, causing him to look down at her and see her holding out a scroll with a message written or him, "What's up with your face? You were here before?"
"I was here with a friend once." David explained.
"A friend?" Neo wanted to know, narrowing her eyes slightly.
"We paid this place a visit for a moment when we were looking for someone." David gave another another explanation as Neo nodded in understanding, "We weren't here for long, though. Only several minutes, I think as we just talked with a few people there."
Neo once again nodded at him, putting her scroll in her pocket and both of them made their way to the entrance to the club. The two unknown men stopped the conversation they were having with each other right now and looked at them. From the looks on their faces, David could easily tell they remembered who he was here with the last time he paid a visit to their club and tensed up slightly at the view of him.
The man on the right sighed in frustation, "Great. You're here again..."
The man on the left crossed his arms, "Don't tell me you came here again with her."
"No. I'm not here with Yang. I'm here with some other friend." David explained, causing the two men to calm down a bit as they glanced to the side to see the person he had came here with. Both of them tensed up again as soon as they glanced to David's side and David failed to notice this because of them composing themselves just a second later.
"I-I see." The man on the right said as he opened the door for them, gesturing to David and Neo to enter the club.
David nodded at both of them and pushed himself into walk, stepping into the club. Neo wasted no time and followed him into the club, hearing how the two men outside closed the doors behind them as she and David were greeted by the sound of a loud music playing in the club. She and David stopped in their tracks for a moment as they stepped further into the club and allowed themselves to take a good look around the club.
The club looked exactly like both of them expected them to look and exactly how David remembered it from his visit with Yang. It was still filled by Junior's black clothed men. Only this time people around him weren't terrified as he wasn't here with Yang right now and there were several civilians having fun with each other on either the dance floor or the bar. His eyes caught the sight of a few familiar people in the club as well like the pair of twins he still did not know the name of and Junior standing at the bar behind the counter.
He and Neo exchanged glances with each other shortly after and nodded at each other. Neo gestured to him to follow her a second later and pushed herself into walk as David nodded at her her and followed her. They started to make their way towards the bar and Junior caught the sight of them walking towards him rather quickly. He crossed his arms with a slightly stern look on his face, stopping by the counter as he waited for both of them to make their way towards him.
"You're back..." Junior said, keeping his arms crossed as he set his eyes on David and Neo and shifted his gaze between them. Neo smiled sweetly at him, making Junior pause for a moment before proceeding, "...With a different company than last time."
"Yeah." David nodded in confirmation, smilling slightly at him as he brought up one part of the last time he interacted with Junior to him, "At least I won't have to make sure my company behaves like I had to do last time."
"You'd be suprised." Junior stated, uncrossing his arms, "How can I help you two?" Neo sat down on a chair in front of the counter and pulled out her scroll. She typed something on her scroll and held it out to him, "The same as usual, I see." He shifted his gaze to David and looked at him questioningly, "What about you. What do you want?"
"I don't really know. I'm not exactly familiar with drinks you have here in Vale." David gave him an honest answer as he took his seat next to Neo and glanced at her, "How about you choose something for me. Just make sure it won't have much alcohol in it."
"Why? Low tolerance?" Junior asked out of curiosity.
"Yup." David nodded in confirmation, remembering how it ended for him when the one time when he and his friends got their hands on some alcohol during a sleepover, "A man need to know his limits, right?"
"I suppose." Junior chuckled and shifted his attention to Neo, "So. What do you want for him?" Neo thought for a few seconds and smirked a few seconds later as she typed her answer on her scroll. He once again chuckled and turned away from them, "Alright. I'll be in a moment." As he turned away from them, he whispered to himself to make sure they won't hear him, "First blondie and now her? This guy surely likes to keep interesting company around himself."
David looked at Neo with curiosity written over his face, getting the idea she ordered something strong for him from the look she had on her face and the way Junior reacted to her order for him, "What did you order for me?"
"It's a mystery~." Neo replied, winking at him playfully.
"Should I be afraid?" David wanted to know.
Neo smirked at him, "Maybe~."
"Alright." David shrugged, letting out a small sigh, "Just to let you know. I did warn you about my low tolerance. It will be up to you to drag me away if I'll get drunk."
"I'm willing to take this responsibility." Neo told him. She looked at him with a curious look on her face a second later and wasted no time when it came to typing the next message to him, "How do you know even know you have a low tolerance? I never took you for a drinking guy."
"It's because I'm not." David confirmed it to her, "I learned about it during a sleepover I had with my friends back home."
His words seemed to make Neo more curious as she typed to him, "Alright. Explain what went down."
"What there is to explain? A bunch of teenage idiots got their hands on some alcohol." David went straight to the point with his explanation, "I don't think I have to explain further to you as I know you can already tell what happened."
Neo shook her head with an amused look on her face, "I'm guessing all of you got in trouble after the fact?"
"Yup." David nodded in confirmation, smilling slightly at the fond memory he had made with his friends, "It still doesn't change the fact that it makes for a funny memory. The story of 'Eat that meat' will stay with me forever."
Neo raised her brow, "Eat that meat?"
"Let's not got into details here." David waved his hand in front of his face, "Trust me. You don't want to know this story. As much as it is funny, It's also really disgusting and it would just kill any need to drink or eat in you for a long time."
"Alright. I'll trust your word for it." Neo nodded in understanding, "Though, I can tell you and your friends had fun during this little drinking sleepover of yours."
"Yeah. Just like I said to you a moment ago, this drinking sleepover now makes for a funny memory of how stupid all of us were." David smiled in a bitter manner, letting out a sigh, "I miss hanging out with those idiots."
Neo looked slightly taken aback by his reaction, "Why the long face? You know you can always hang out with them again whenever you will be back in your village back in Mistral."
"Yeah..." David slowly nodded his head at her, playing along with it as he knew he couldn't let Neo know the truth about him. Not yet, at least.
"...Your drinks." Junior said, having returned to them with their drinks as he cut into their conversation.
David and Neo shifted their attention to him, ending their conversation for now and saw him putting two glasses of liquor on the counter in front of them. He walked off to take care of their own business with the other clients right after, leaving both of them alone and David and Neo exchanged glances with each other and grabbed their glasses. After grabbing her glass, Neo didn't drink from it straight away as she looked up at David with a smirk on her face, awaiting his reaction to him tasting the drink she had chosen for him.
David rolled his eyes in an amused manner as her awaiting expression and took a sip from his drink. His eyes widened right after and as he let out a few coughs at the taste in his mouth, "...Wh-What the hell is this?"
Neo smirked at his reaction, allowing herself to enjoy, "A certain special of Vale. Let's have the full name remain a mystery for now."
David deadpanned at her, cringing at the taste this drink left in his mouth, "Really?"
"Yup." Neo nodded in confirmation, her smirk refusing to leave her face as she took a sip from her glass before typing, "You weren't joking about your tolerance, though. I can tell from your reaction how you aren't used to having drinks like this."
"I did warn you about my low tolerance." David reminded her, letting out a chuckle, "Good to know we didn't came here in a car otherwise I don't think I would be able to drive both of us home..."
Neo looked at him with a slightly suprised look on her face, "Wait a second. You have driver's license?"
"Yes." David nodded in confirmation, "It took me four attempts, but I passed the exam. I haven't driven a car in a while, though."
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Neo wanted to know.
David shrugged, "It never came up. It's not like we ever had to use a car to get somewhere."
"It never came up? You could tell me about when I told you how I learned how to drive a car through driving simulators." Neo pointed out to him.
"Maybe. I was just too suprised and too much in awe at the moment to bring this up to you." David admitted, "I wish I was a fast learner like you when it comes to driving. You have no idea how many gray hairs I got when I was learning how to park."
Neo looked at him in interest, "You really were so bad when it comes to parking?"
"Yeah." David nodded in confirmation, looking slightly embarassed at the thought of how bad his first attempts of parking a car went, "I don't want to talk about it. It's actually kind of embarassing. Good thing I improved this part otherwise there's no way in hell I would pass the exam."
Neo nodded at him, looking like she would giggle if she wasn't mute and took the next sip of her drink. Despite knowing he won't really enjoy his drink, David took the next sip of his drink as well as he didn't want it to go to waste. Especially since he wasn't the one who paid for it. He cringed at the taste of it again, feeling like nothing will make him like it more as he couldn't help but feel like his poor alcohol tolerance was slowly starting to make itself known in his body by the time he finished his drink.
He ignored his feeling, though as he and Neo spent the next two hours talking with each other at the bar over a drink, ordering the next one for themselves whenever either of them finished theirs. Neo was at her seventh drink and David was at his third one and both of them could feel the effects of the alcohol hitting them. It was especially hitting David, despite him having less drinks than Neo because of his low alcohol tolerance and it made him forget how he intended to have only one drink when he entered the club with Neo.
"...Or was he really going to eat this meat. I never learned the answer. The story of 'Eat that Meat' will stay with me forever, though." David finished his story, his cheeks slightly reddened as Neo managed to convince him to tell her story of what went down during the drinking sleepover he had with his friends as a way of killing the wait as Junior prepared .
Neo stared at him with stunned look on her face, her cheeks slightly reddened as well. She pushed herself out of her stunned face a few seconds later and typed on her scroll. It took her longer than usual to write something because of her state, "...Wow. You weren't kidding. This story is disgusting. Holy shit."
"I did warn you." David reminded her, pointing at her. He hiccuped, feeling how drunk he was right now as he leaned closer to Neo with a smirk on her face, "You can't blame me if you lost your interest in the next drink!"
Neo smirked back at him, pointing back at him after typing the next text message for him, "Who said I'm blaming you for this and who said I'm going to let my drink go to waste just because I heard some stupid story?"
David drunkely put his hand on his chin, "Wow. You will still have a drink? Even after this story? You can color me suprised."
Neo looked at him proudly, "I'm a woman of many suprises."
David returned the gesture by forming a proud look on his face himself, "If you say so. I can tell I'm a man of many suprises as well..."
Neo looked at him with an interested look on her face, "Really? What kind of suprises are you harboring Mr. Many suprises?"
David hiccuped, "They wouldn't be suprises if I told you about them right now, would they?"
"Can't argue with this logic..." Neo admitted, reluctantly admitting defeat as David smiled drunkely at his 'victory', "You know. You never actually told me your village back in Mistral. How does it it look?"
"Hehe, how to explain it to you." David chuckled drunkely, "It is just a textbook definition of a village you'd see in the background of a video game. It's nothing interesting. Really..."
Neo put her hand on her heart, looking at him pitfully after seeing the tone he used when describing his village to her as she hugged him comfortingly. David looked down at her, slightly taken aback by her hug but quickly melted into it because of how nice it felt. Neo looked up at him a second later and he looked down at her. They smiled drunkely at each other as David looked straight into Neo's differently colored eyes. He never admitted to himself just how beautiful they were...
it was when both of them began to lean towards each other at the same time, both of them letting their actions to do the work as they allowed the alcohol do the thinking for them. Both of them felt like they were the only people in the bar right now and were planning to use it. Nothing came out of it, though as they were interruped before anything could happen by the sound of someone placing their refilled glasses of liquor on the counter in front of them.
"...Order up." Junior told them as David and Neo released each other from the embrace and looked at him, "This is your last drink for tonight, both of you. I can tell both of you, especially the fella over here hit your limit."
David and Neo stared drunkely at him as Junior turned away from them and walked off to serve the other clients by the bar. They exchanged glances with each other a second later and shrugged, knowing what to do next. They picked up their glasses and clinked them before downing what would be their last drinks. After downing her last drink, Neo snapped her fingers again as she got an idea on what they should do next now that Junior would refuse to refill their drinks again.
The mute young woman grabbed David by his hand, beginning to wake him away from the bar and dragged him into the dance floor where many people were dancing right now. She and David stopped in front of the two twins and both of them glared at them, mostly at Neo. Their glares quickly faded away from their faces, though as Neo glared return her glare and pulled her scroll out from her pocket. She handed it to the long haired twin in a white, silently ordering her to turn on the recording.
The twins exchanged confused glances with each other, with the white clothed twin reluctantly pointing Neo's scroll at her and David as Neo dragged David a bit away from them. After making sure they were in a fair distance from each other, Neo began swinging her arms and legs widly in her drunken state as she began to dance and David followed her example, forgetting about he how often admitted that he didn't like to dance because of the drunken state he found himself in right now.
The first thing David felt upon opening his eyes was a headache. He placed his hand on his forehead as soon as he opened his eyes, letting out a groan as he sat up on the couch he had waken up on. He rubbing his eyeslids and looked around himself, trying to find out where he was right now as he was certain he wasn't anywhere near his and his team RWBY dorm. He could it tell it as soon as he woke up as the couch he was laying on right now felt completely different compared to his bed back at Beacon.
"Where am I?" He asked himself internally, seeing he woke up in the living room of the apartament he could not recognize as he didn't recall being in it before.
His attention was shifted to the other side of the living room, having just heard how someone walked into it from some other room in this apartament. It didn't took him long to locate the source of this noise. It was Neo and her appearance was completely different from what David was used to seeing her in which was understandable to because of what time of day it was. The mute young woman was holding a glass of water as she was wearing pink pajama's with a neopolitan ice cream in the middle of her pajama top, had a plain pink pajama battom and was barefooted.
Neo smiled at him as she set the glass of water on the furniture next to her and pulled out her scroll before typing a text-to-speech message to David, "Would you look at that. Our sleeping queen has finally awoken."
David smiled back at her, letting out a chuckle at how she called him, "Yeah. Good morning to you too. What time is it?"
"A few minutes after 9 am." Neo responded.
"Really?" David looked suprised by it as Neo nodded in confirmation and grabbed the glass of water from the furniture. She moved towards him as David added, "I feel like I slept longer."
Neo set the water glass on the table in front of David and quickly reached for her scroll before typing, "Here's some water. You weren't joking when you told me about you having a low alcohol tolerance. You ended up getting wasted quicker than I expected."
"I did warn you it may end like this if we'll go out for a drink." David chuckled as took the water glass and took a sip from it, After the water went down his throat, he asked her about last night, "What happened last night? My memory ends with both of us entering Junior's club."
Neo wasted no time and started typing the answer to him on her scroll. It took her a bit longer than usual to do so, signalling her answer would be quite long and it was confirmed to David when she held the scroll out to him for him to read it, "You ended up getting wasted to the point of not being able to move on your own and I had to drag you out of Junior's club. You were muttering something about sleeping on the streets because of the Bullhead for Beacon having already left at the point we left the club together to yourself so I figured out I should take you to my apartament otherwise you'd be sleeping on the streets last night."
"I see." David voiced his understanding as he looked at her with a grateful look on his face to express his gratitude to her, "Thanks for letting me stay at your place."
Neo nodded at him, her expression saying, "No problem.". Her attention went back to her scroll a second later as she typed to David, "To be honest I'm actually kind of suprised that I managed to drag both of our asses to my apartament as I was after a few drinks myself."
"I see. Then, we should thank you that the stars have aligned in such a way that you found the power to come to your home." David said as Neo put her free hand over her mouth to show him she was amused by his answer, "Alright. I should go back to Beacon. I can already imagine the scolding of how irresponsible I was Weiss will put me through once I will make my arrive at it. Good thing there aren't any classes here today otherwise I can only imagine how hard it would be to sit through all of them after last night."
Neo looked at him questioningly, holding her scroll with the new message typed on it for him to see, "You sure you want to go now? I already started making enough breakfast for two people and it would be a shame if the half of it went to waste."
David put his hand on his chin with a thoughtful look on his face. He nodded at Neo a second later, agreeing on her offer for breakfast, "Okay. What are we eating?"
"Pancakes." Neo replied.
David smiled, "Yummy."
"Nice to see you like to have this for breakfast. Because I don't think I would cook anything else right now as it is one of the few things I can actually cook well." Neo said.
David nodded in agreement, "You and me both. I wouldn't give most stuff I prepare to the worst dog."
Neo smiled and typed on her scroll, "Come on. Let's go to the kitchen. My kitchen and dining room are the same room in my apartament."
"Alright. Right behind you." David nodded as Neo turned away from him and moved into her kitchen/dining room. David followed her and found himself in her kitchen/dining room a few seconds later. The said room wasn't very big. The right side of it had anything a kitchen for one person likek Neo would need to work such as a stove and a microwave. The left side of it had a small table where David suspected he and Neo would have their breakfast.
"So. What do you think of my place?" Neo asked her guest, looking at him curiously.
"It's pretty nice. It's really small, but I can say it's perfect for someone your size." David joked as Neo glared at him and elbowed him in the ribs. He chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the rib he had just elbowed, "Ouch. I was just joking."
Neo rolled her eyes at him as she moved towards the stove. David walked over to the table, setting his glass of water on it and took his seat, patiently waiting for Neo to finish preparing their breakfast. After she was done preparing their breakfast, Neo placed an equal portion of pancakes on two plates and walked over to David. She put his portion of pancakes in front of him and made her to the to the opposite side of the table. She put her portion of pancakes on the table and took her seat across from David right after.
"Alright. Let's dig in." David said as he picked up the fork and a knife and dug into his knife. He cut himself a piece of pancake and allowed himself to taste the food Neo prepared for herself and him. He nodded his head to himself a second later, finding the taste of the food nice.
Neo leaned closer to him as her expression was saying, "Sooooo?"
David nodded at her, giving her a small smile, "It's good."
Neo smiled back at him, shrugging her shoulders, "Just like I said. One of the few things I can actually cook. Be relieved I didn't try to cook anything else otherwise both of us would need a doctor."
"Alright. I'll make sure to be relieved about it. On the other hand, good to know there's something both of us have in common. Both of us can't cook for this." David said as Neo nodded at him, recalling what David told her a few minutes ago about his cooking.
David and Neo shifted their attention to their breakfast right after and focused their attention on finishing their food. They continued to eat their breakfast for the next few minutes, not having much interactions with each other as they ate their food in a comfortable silence between them.
David raised his brow at her, "What?"
Neo smirked smugly at him as she pulled out a scroll and turned it around. She clicked it on and a video of her and David going wild on the dance floor in Junior's club started playing. They were swinging their legs at each other with large smiles on their faces. They continued to dance for the rest of the video. By the end of it, they turned away from each other and danced with their backs facing each other.
"You know this it the only time you'll see me like this as sober me would never agree to this." David said right after the video of her and David going wild on the dance floor in Junior's club ended.
Neo shrugged, her smug smirk staying on her face, "Then, I have to make sure you'll get drunk more often during our hang outs."
"It will come at the price of me becoming an alcoholic and honestly I don't feel like becoming one." David responded, crossing his arms.
"Too bad there wasn't any slow dancing involved, though otherwise I would win a bet between you." Neo typed to him with her smirk refusing to leave her face.
"You know it wouldn't count because of me being drunk, right?" David pointed out to her.
"Hey. There's wasn't any mention in our deal that you have to sober for it." Neo pointed out in return.
David opened his mouth to reply. He closed it before any words left his mouth, though as he knew Neo had him here. He sighed, admitting it to her, "Okay. You have me here."
Neo pointed at him victoriously, "HA!"
"It will just make me watch out more during our next hang outs and make sure we won't go to Junior's club again anytime soon." David said, shooting down Neo's enthusiasm at her 'victory' in an instant, "Even if we will go there again sometime in the future, I'll make sure to stay away alcohol related, especially with my low tolerance of it."
Neo shook her head, "You just have to make everything harder? Don't you?"
David smiled, "Yup. What were you expecting? Did you really thought I will let you win this bet so easily?"
Neo smirked at him, "Fine. You want to play like this, then we will play like this. It will just make my reward way more worth it when I will actually win this bet way more satisfying."
"The same goes for me. It will just make my reward way more satisfying when I will win our bet." David smirked back at her, letting out a chuckle as Neo shook her head with an amused smile on her face. Both of them continued their conversation over a breakfast, enjoying each other's company.
David walked out of the bullhead, beginning to make his way towards the main campus of Beacon Academy as he had arrived back at his school several hours later than he had originally planned. After sharing a breakfast with Neo, he took a quick shower in her apartament with her permission as he wanted to wash off the smell of alcohol off his body as he already knew he was in for a lecture from Weiss about how irresponsible he was and didn't want to add more things for her to lecture him about.
After he was done with his shower, he walked out of Neo's bathroom, feeling refreshed and without a smell of alcohol coming off of him and Neo asked him if he wanted to stay for a bit longer as she was about to do some morning yoga before he left and David declined her offer, telling her how they will do it some other time. He was sure he already made his friends worried enough by not texting them about him not coming back to Beacon because of his drunken state last night and didn't want to worry them further by staying at Neo's apartament longer.
The other reason why he declined her offer for some morning yoga was the fact he didn't want to suffer through it the morning after he got himself drunk at Junior's club. He, of course, didn't voice this reason to Neo as he knew how it make her go harder at him and make him suffer more than he usually would during their next yoga session and it was something he wanted to avoid happening. He already was suffering during yoga, because of him still being in a very early stage when it comes to this and he didn't want to make his suffering worse.
Both of them parted ways shortly after, wishing each other goodbye for now and David began making his way to where the bullhead to Beacon was supposed to be. After arriving at the place, he patiently waited for the bullhead and it took off several minutes later, resulting in him finding himself where he was right now. Not wasting any time, the brown haired young man started to make his way towards his and team RWBY's dorm.
It didn't took him long to reach his destination as he reached it a few minutes later. He pushed the door to the dorm open and walked into it. He looked around himself as soon as he walked into it and saw Weiss and Ruby. Blake and Yang were nowhere to be seen. Ruby and Weiss stopped what they were doing the moment they heard someone walk into their dorm and set her eyes on him.
Ruby smiled as soon as she laid her eyes on David, hopping off her bunk and walking over to him, "David. You're back!"
"Yeah..." David didn't got a chance to voice what he wanted to say as Weiss walked over to him and wasted no time when it came to beginning her lecture to him.
"Where were you last night, mister?" Weiss asked him in the stern tone she was known for among her friends, pointing her finger towards David's face, "Do you have any idea how worried all of us were last night when you didn't return to Beacon?"
David rubbed the back of his head with an apologetic look on his face, not even bothering to point out to Weiss how she had just admitted she was worried about him as he knew it would just make his situation worse, "Yeah. Sorry about that. Let's just say something unplanned came up and I couldn't really make it to the bullhead in time..."
"Why couldn't you write us about it, then?" Weiss wanted to know, her stern expression refusing to leave her face.
Ruby nodded in agreement, sounding stern herself for once, "Yeah! Do you have any idea how worried it made us when you weren't answering to any of our calls and messages last night?"
"Yeah. About me not answering to your messages and calls..." David began.
Weiss crossed her arms, "What kind of excuse have you come up with?"
"I couldn't really write any answer to them." David finished his answer, confusing both Ruby and Weiss.
Weiss looked at him in confusion, "What?"
"I'm so confused." Ruby admitted, equally as confused as Weiss was.
"I was too drunk to answer to them." David explained, knowing exactly what kind of answer it will get out of his roommates.
Ruby raised her brow, "Drunk?"
Weiss looked at him with a heavily disappointed look on her face, "Don't tell me..."
David nodded in confirmation, looking quite sheepish to admit this, "Yeah. We went to the bar..."
Weiss shook her head, "Really? I expected more from you."
"It just happened. Okay?" David explained, his sheepish look remaining on his face, "We had one drink and things just escalated from there. I don't even remember what happened last night. I just woke up in her apartament this morning..."
"You woke up in her apartament?" Ruby asked, blushing heavily as her mind got the wrong idea.
David raised his brow at her, "Huh?"
"I-I see." Weiss blushed, having gotten the wrong idea as well as she asked, "Did you two at least used protection?"
David's eyes widened, having just realized what Weiss and Ruby were thinking, "What? Did you two really think both of us did it while being drunk?"
"You didn't?" Weiss wanted to be sure.
"No." David shook his head, denying it, "I woke up on her coach in the living room and I was fully clothed. She slept in her room after putting me on the couch."
Ruby nodded, feeling her blush fade away from her face, "I see."
"That's a relief." Weiss sighed in relief, "At least you two were responsible enough not to do this in our drunken states."
"If you say so." David replied as an awkward silenced filled their dorm for several seconds. He broke it after those several seconds passed, "Can we agree this conversation never happened? Especially in front of Yang as she will keep bringing it up?"
Ruby nodded in agreement, "Okay."
"I have no objections to this." Weiss agreed as well as she leaned closer to David and sniffed him for a second, smelling no alcohol from him, "I see you took a shower at her place."
David nodded in confirmation, "Yes. Didn't want to risk coming back to Beacon while smelling like a liquor store. I know how badly it would end for me if I was caught by one of the teachers. Especially if it was Miss. Goodwitch."
Weiss nodded in approval, "Good to know you were at least responsible enough to take a shower before coming back to Beacon."
David chuckled lightly, "Good to know I didn't disappoint you completely, then."
"Don't let this make you think I'm not mad at you." Weiss told him.
"Alright." David voiced his understanding of her words and shifted his gaze to Ruby a second later, "What about your search for a boyfriend, Ruby? How did it go?"
Ruby crossed her arms, pouting, "It went terribly! I couldn't find anyone!"
Weiss looked at her questioningly, "You didn't went after Neptune, right?"
Ruby shook her head, "Of course not! I only asked him if he and Sun knew any cute books straight out of the romance books."
"What did they tell you?" David wanted to know.
Ruby looked at him with a saddened look on her face, "They told me I'm a lost cause."
David and Weiss exchanged glances with each other, both of them feeling amused by this. Seeing their amused expressions, Ruby pouted with a hurt expression on her face. The three of them split up across the dorm right after, taking their seat on either their bunks or on their beds in David's case. The three of them spent the most of their Sunday in their room, with Yang and Blake joining them later in the day after the former was done working out and the latter was done reading a book at the library.
After the said two returned to their dorm, David went through the same situation as he did with Weiss and Ruby as he received many questions regarding what happened last night and why he wasn't answering to any of their calls or text messages. The only differences being the facts that Yang seemed more impressed by David getting drunk at Junior's club than disappointed and David made sure not to tell her about him waking up in Neo's apartament as he knew how it would end.
Hope it wasn't that bad. See you in another chapter.
