GATE episode 11

"Wake up High Inquisitor, this is not where you die" a voice called out.

Struggling to open my eyes I looked around; I was in some sort of a tank filled with a green liquid, I was back on Point Veranda with Doctor Miandi looking over me.

Panicking a bit, I struggled to get out of the tank and once I did, I pulled the tubes out of my mouth and started to cough up water and struggled to get up.

Doctor Miandi offered me her hand and said, "you really should stop getting hurt High Inquisitor, your lucky we had some…experimental treatments ready for you."

As I got up, I felt stronger, faster, and I was able to connect to all of the vehicles and tech at my disposal.

"What did you do to me Doctor?" I asked.

"simple, your old body was…well lets just say that cyber weapon from Titan Cooperation did more than we initially thought, not only did it destroy all the 3d printed organs and electronics in your old body that were keeping you alive, but it deteriorated the neural network…you would have been left a vegetable for life" the doctor said leading me to a table where my old body was but the brain was taken out.

"Doctor…what am I?" I asked.

"now you are death High Inquisitor, your brain was placed into a special unit and uplinked together with tech, we call this a cyber brain and lets just say yours is the most unique amongst them, as not only can you do all your normal combat calculations but we added the zero system into your brain, you'll no longer need to rely on your armor for zero system, also you can now impose your will onto others, think of it like an intimidating glare of sorts that deals psychological damage" the doctor said.

"Psychic damage? Since when has the legion had magic on their side?" I asked confused.

Lelei then walked forward and said, "since I stayed behind to make sure you made it through this okay, I taught your private military all about magic in exchange for them preloading your new cyber brain with all the magic needed to not only survive but thrive in our world."

Smiling I looked over to see Lelei, Rory, Itami, Kuribayashi, Tomita, and Tuka all standing there but they weren't really there, as I looked closer I realized they were holograms.

Itami was the first to bolt over and hug me saying, "you stupid idiot I was so damn worried about you!"

Chuckling I said, "it seems death wasn't ready for me to die yet brother…how long was I out?"

Rory then approached me and said, "5 days…you were pronounced dead at Shinjuku hospital and it was broadcasted across the world and even into the special region…the amount of mourning…you really did save a lot of people, however the collective joy felt around the world when Doctor Miandi interrupted your funeral to say you would be undergoing special postmortem treatment to be brought back to life was equally delicious…we're all awaiting your return to the special region"

Clenching my fist I said, "so…a full body prosthetic, how advance is it compared to the desperado style ones?"

Doctor Miandi brought up a chart and said, "well for starters you can cast magic, Lelei was very helpful in showing us how mana works in this world and we discovered how to make synthetic mana for you to use, so you have an unlimited supply of mana for magic, secondly this specific full body prosthetic is unique in the fact that it still has all the human body organs, artificial lungs, a heart, a digestive system even blood veins and testicles but they are cyber locked meaning that special bullet Revy used against you will have to go through over 12 different levels of security that resets every 2 seconds, and that's just the internals, your skeleton is flexible yet durable using a mix of tungsten and hyper diamond, then you got the wiring for all your tech, then the synthetic flesh, and then an outer layer made form dragon scales and tungsten sheets and lastly artificial skins, bullet proof and flame retardant"

I smiled and bowed humbly and said, "thank you Doctor…I owe my new life to you yet again."

Doctor Miandi chuckled and said, "no high Inquisitor this is the least I could do after the negotiations…you saved the special region from exterminatus, if you or princess Pina hadn't said something we would have destroyed the entire place."

Walking over to where my clothes laid, I started to get dress and said, "so what's the plan brother…" before accessing the neural network to get a read on everything.

Accessing the net and deep diving I saw that my death really did make people mourn and more so brought up the stocks in dark legion and the number of soldiers leaving public sectors and reaching private sectors.

Itami then deep dived with me which caught me off guard at first, followed by Tomita, Kuribayashi, Tuka and Rory, and Pina.

"What the hell!" I said shocked.

Itami chuckled and said, "we may not have cyber brains like you but we did opt for special neural implants so we can all communicate better."

Pina chuckled and said, "you saved us High Inquisitor to have some way to contact the JSDF like this is the least I could do, I was able to have one of your dark legion Scientists sneak in an install this…Neural interface so I may better talk to you all"

Smiling I turned the blank neural net space into a board meeting room and said, "okay let's go over the plan, Itami have the major powers pulled their troops back?"

Itami nodded and said, "when we went through the gate after you died Kamakoda had apprehended American CIA so we don't have to worry about them nor Titan cooperation as their to busy dealing with the death of Lagoon Company, Russia and China can't send anyone else and after that stunt with Sundowner Desperado is also in hot water so you could honestly just walk through the front door back to the special region"

I smirked and said, "good well i'll head to Ginza and get back to the special Region" before turning to Princess Pina and saying, "it is good to have seen you again my lady" before ending the connection.

Doctor Miandi then said, "unfortunately as well the original armor you were using was damaged beyond repair when it came to the wiring and internals so we upgraded it."

Before revealing the new armor, it looked like it took inspiration from the data I collected on the other world as the plating on the entire thing was bulkier. It was still my armor, same as before but the only different was the baretta dober cannon which was a lot bigger than before and the suit as a whole was bigger still sleek but bigger.

Putting it on It felt like a glove and with a smirk I activated my wings and said, "guess heaven and hell go with me into combat, I thank you doctor for your continue help with me!" before saluting Doctor Miandi and heading out to the Gate.

Making it easily back through the gate without anyone giving us a problem, I was welcomed back happily by the entire recon group saluting me.

Kurokawa was the first to salute me shouting, "High Inquisitor on deck everyone at attention!" followed by the 3 platoons dark Legion Templars in their futuristic power armor slamming their High-powered rifle axes into the ground in honor as well.

Rory rushed me and hugged me tightly saying, "you stupid, stupid man don't you ever worry me like that! I only have 39 years left before I ascend to godhood and I do not want to spend them crying over you or how I lost you damn it!"

Holding Rory close in my arms I swore to her I would stay by her side however I can before I turned to the troops.

Saluting them back I said, "it feels good to be back! Now then get back to work!"

Kurokawa rushed up to me and said, "High Inquisitor the general wants to see you right away!"

Nodding my head, I followed her into the tents where the general was waiting, we saluted each other and the general said, "ahhh High Inquisitor firstly I want to say it is good to have you back, news of your death shocked us all over here, so I am glad you made a recovery!"

Smiling I said, "thank you sir its good to know I was missed."

The general then said, "secondly I want to thank you for all the next equipment dark legion has provided us, the experimental Tachikoma arachnid single troop transport tanks have been…well its impressive to have tanks that can think for themselves running around, and quite frankly the troops seem to find them impressive too."

"The tachikomas represent dark legions innovations in mixing A.I and weaponry general, the 50. Call machine guns built into their arms mixed with the full cloaking package should be good for anyone wanting to go out on single man, more so our new scorpion copters and the elegant SEED drones we provided should also be good for military defense should we need it" I chuckled.

The General then said, "Lastly you'll be sent to the empire's capital along with your brother, and the foreign affairs minister Koji Sugawara to discuss peace."

Raising my eyebrow I said, "impressive! Okay I'll done my finest clothes for the occasion."

The general shook his head and said, "negative, go in full combat armor."

This shocked me a bit and I said, "full combat armor? As you wish general, any specific mission you need me to undertake?" before leaving.

The general nodded and said, "you and your templars are on guard detail, I need you to stick to the shadows and let your templars act as if they're royal guards, got it?"

I nodded my head and said, "I will be a phantom to these people."

Its been 5 days since my apparent death, and 5 months since the attack on Ginsa, and a thriving city has popped up around our military base, Tachikomas roamed freely around the base, JSDF members were training with newer rifles, and Templars were rushing with Squires to get things all done.

Looking at the deployment of 4 Templars and the 2 tachikomas who were with us and said, "we ready to deploy!"

One of the templars slammed his axe gun and shouted, "yes sir high inquisitor!"

Giving a grin I said, "let's move out then!"

One of the tachikomas zoomed up to me allowing me to get inside it and zoom close to the carriage holding the diplomats from my world and the princess.

Using the net, I talked to Pina and said, "don't forget dark legion interests are also needed to be met princess, if dark legion can have a presence here in this world that would be perfect."

Pina gave a noise of affirmation and said, "don't worry High Inquisitor your doctor Miandi told us what dark legion interests are needed to be met, a base for people to hire legionnaires, exemption from wartime service and a contract stating only I, Princess Pina Co Lada can order the dark legion, I'll make sure these interests are met and your doctor Wilma will be looked for through out our empire, you have my word"

I then noticed Pina seemed troubled by something and said, "you seem bothered…what's up?"

Pina said, "why did Desperado seem so keen to kill me? I have an idea on why the major powers from your world would be interested in me, but why the smaller powers like Desperado enforcement, and titan cooperation?"

"simple really, you pose a threat…if foreign powers believe that the people on the other side of the gate are more important or have a population they can get soldiers out of, they'll stop funding vast armies like Desperado or Titan Cooperation and hire from there instead, more over it would be seen as a crucial move to make Dark Legion Private Enforcement look bad to have you killed under my watch, if you were to die and the war with the empire broke out even more then more private militaries would be brought in such as Desperado or Titan" I said keeping the speed on the Tachikoma at minimum.

"so, if I die…then these private interests will be pulled in to help eradicate the empire?" Pina asked.

I nodded and said, "alternatively if any of these private interests make it through the gate, they could also figure out gate technology and send an attack squad in to aid your enemy and thus destroy the empire, either way small interest companies like Titan, Desperado, or Dark Legion are not to be messed with in this situation"

Princess Pina shuttered and said, "noted…we're approaching the capital soon are you ready Jango?"

I nodded my head and said, "Tachikoma go to full cloak mode and keep to the ceiling!"

The tachikoma giggled and said, "roger that High Inquisitor!" before using cables to repel to the top of one of the buildings and zoom across the many roman like buildings.

Soon though we managed to make it to the first of many diplomatic meetings between Pina, Sugawara and the people of this world who dressed a lot nicer than the people from Italica

Looking through my scope while keeping an Eye on the diplomat I got a good look at the man who according to Pina would be instrumental in the peace talks, Cicero La Moltose head of the anti-war party. If this man was anything like the diplomats, I worked for in Bulgaria then he'd be the target for the pro-war party. The imperial army was still feeling the sting from Alnis, and training troops would take time. Using what I remembered from my time in the marines it realistically took 6 months total to go through the selection process, the training and then building on prior knowledge to make sure the soldiers are lethal and then 5 weeks to specialize them into groups such as cavalry or archers. Judging by the number of guards I have seen so far; I am guessing they reached the equivalent to 3 months…they train rather familiarly like dark legion soldiers.

Getting in contact with Doctor Miandi I brought up these concerns and the doctor said, "sounds like Doctor Wilma… she was in charge of initial training for dark legion recruits not from prior military branches, I'll figure it out and get back to you."

Watching from a distance through the scope of my sniper rifle I was ready to blow a hole through any of these…diplomats.

Itami's voice then came through my cyber brain saying, "brother you got a second?"

"Go ahead Itami what do you have for me?" I muttered.

"it's about Tuka…" Itami said.

"You mean her mental state? Cause I know and more importantly I don't think its wise to let her know…" I muttered.

Itami sighed and said, "I get that but…we have an idea and need your advice…what if we go after the flame dragon? We had a dark elf come by asking for you specifically. The General told me to ask you for advice on it."

I raised my eyebrow and said, "a dark elf? Asking for the high inquisitor…I'll need more details."

Itami then said, "the elf wants us kill the same flame dragon we injured it causing more issues and I have a feeling if we did, we'd also be able to heal Tuka's mental state."

Watching Pina and the Foreign Minister I said, "I mean I won't be able to join you, but I can confirm that could be a good plan. However if this elf is from the Schwartz woods the military can't get involved due to the fact it's in another country…however Dark Legion is private interest we don't work for the Japanese nor the empire so we can say it's a private interest…hmmm tell you what Itami, I'll send 4 of my best Templars, 2 tachikomas and a think tank with you guys when you invade and kill the flame dragon got it?"

Itami said, "fine also we'll be bringing more diplomatic goods to the capital so be ready for that."

"Copy that Brother I'll let Pina know" I said before rushing inside my Tachikoma to zoom around.
