One week later:
Emma Swan saw Killian walk through the front door of her home. She could tell he was nervous the moment he stepped in the house. "Swan, can we take a walk around the town?"
"Sure. How long are we leaving?"
"Not long. You don't need to bring the baby. We will be back soon."
"Alright. Why are we walking to town? Killian, is something wrong?"
"No, love. Everything is great actually. I just need to spend some time with you."
They both walked hand in hand outside and approached the clock tower.
"Let's stop right here."
"Killian, what's going on?"
"Just here me out, Swan. You told me your secret about that baby but I have something to confess to you." He sighed. "When I thought you died, left me or got hurt, I felt so alone. I felt so empty, so depressed. All I could do was drink. I became dependent on it so much so it started to destroy me. When you came back, the very moment I knew you were alright, I threw every bottle, every glass of rum and whiskey away. Anything I could find that would cause separation between us I gave up. I have always loved you, and that short week or so without you again made me realize that without you, I will crumble down into the hole from whist I came. I need you, Swan. I love you more than anything. I want you to be a part of my life forever, along with Hope. Your mother's death has effected your whole family and Hope has been weighing you down. I'm ready to provide for you and even though Hope is not my daughter, I will treat her like she is my own. You need me and most of all, I need you. You complete me. You are the piece out there that makes me whole. You are the best, most beautiful woman I know, inside and out."
Emma only smiled as he continued.
"I want you to be by my side for as long as I live."
He got down on one knee and reached for a small box in his pocket and opened it, staring back at her. "Emma Swan, will you marry me?"
Oh, Killian. I love you more than words can describe. You complete me. Just as I complete you.
Without a doubt, the woman clung to him, hugging him, excitedly. "Yes! I will!" He leaned in to kiss her as she kissed back. They continued, locking eyes and pressing their foreheads together.
The next day:
"I'm engaged, everyone!" Emma squealed as she walked in Granny's diner with Hope in her arms and Killian by her side. She rushed to where David, Regina, Henry, and toddler Neal sat. "I'm so happy for the two of you!" Regina said back and walked toward her and hugged her with happiness.
David smiled at his daughter and then at his future son-in-law. "About time Hook."
"Aye. I thought now that everything has started settling down with Snow White's death and all, it would be a good time."
Emma nodded, then pecked a kiss on his lips, and sat down next to Regina, placing Hope into her friend's arms. Killian scooted close to David on the opposite side. Emma let her hands fall on the table as Henry studied the ring. "Awesome!" The boy said enthusiastically.
"And I need my best man, Henry. Would you want-"
"I would be honored." He smiled back at his mother. "I'm so happy for you, mom. After everything that's happened the past two years, I'm so glad you will get a happy ending."
Killian just smiled but noticed Regina and David sat in silence, deep in thought.
"Hey-" Emma calmly said as she looked to David and then Regina. "I know this is hard but eventually you two will get a happy ending as well. Trust me."
Regina chuckled sarcastically. "Emma, I was a villain. I'm not meant to have one."
Emma's father spoke. "Well look at me. I'm considered a hero and the love of my life killed herself."
There was instantly an awkward silence.
He at once knew he ruined the moment. "I'm sorry, Emma. I didn't mean to make this such-" He quickly ended his sentence and trailed off. Then he announced. "Congratulations."
Emma replied with a smile. "Thanks, dad. I know it seems like you will never be happy. I know how that feels. When I was trapped in Jefferson's house, I thought it would end there. I thought I would never see Hook and get a happy ending with him." She stared at Killian. "But now I have and I'm so grateful. I have hope that both of you will find one too."
