If you offer me your blessing to proceed, then I wish to engage in these tests. It is indeed to the benefit of not only the populace of Paradis, but also any titan shifter and even Bertholdt himself for these experiments to be carried out. I shall have a conversation with him about our plans and gauge his willingness to cooperate. But before I can, we must discuss an important matter: what about Reiner?

The most important matter to research is a way to transfer the nine titans between parties without the need for human consumption. This will benefit both himself and Eren, but will have lasting consequences for all who succeed the nine should we book success. We also wish to research medicine and production; how we may refine the materials unique to Paradis without needing import. However, I do aim for realistic goals. Should we fail to discover such a method, we will need titan serum to keep the titans we have within our own hands. I need to know the technique used to produce it.

How do we proceed?

You are indeed correct that I have carried out some experiments already. With a titan so large and explosive, it was no easy matter, but we have taken the risk and conducted tests on Bertholdt and his titan capabilities.

Hereby a list of our tests:

• We started with simple healing tests: how long did it take him to heal the same wound, and was there a noticeable delay the more he had to heal the same location? I noticed no delay.

• After that, we tested bilateral healing. This was based on the Female Titan once focusing healing on one of its eyes instead of both after it had been blinded. Bertholdt was capable of both unilateral and bilateral healing and possessed similar control over his healing.

• We tested his healing respectively when he received less food for a week and when he hadn't seen sunlight for a week. Both confirmed your intel when his healing slowed down.

• We have taken samples of his blood, skin, hair, nail, urine, faeces, stomach contents, and eye fluid and conducted microscopy, consistency, smear tests, and injections where applicable. We noted no differences with human components. (Sidenote: will I find anything in a titan shifter's semen? He declined my requests for a sample.)

• All of these were compared to Eren's parameters. We have noticed that Bertholdt's healing tends to be slower but more focused, and that his general competence is higher—which confirms that using a titan is a skill that can be learnt.

• Of course, we also asked him to explain the ins and outs of a transformation: what he feels, what he needs to do, how he can control the titan, which of its senses he shares, etc. You will know all about this from personal experience, so I will not repeat his wordy accounts.

We also conducted some tests on the Colossal Titan and its transformation:

• We started by documenting his titan's parameters: exact height, estimated weight, comfortable vicinity due to its heat, etc.

• Our first guided test was to see how many transformations he could carry out before he would run out of steam. Without an explosion and on a well-fed stomach, he reached three before he passed out and the test had to be concluded.

• Then came how long he could remain transformed. We concluded that 30 minutes was the cutoff point, beyond which it would be unsafe for him to continue incarnating the Colossal Titan.

• Next, we looked at its agility and balance. We concluded that the Colossal Titan has great leg balance, but has very little use of its arms. We also found that its balance depends highly on its distribution of mass, and that its legs' weight can cause it balance issues.

• We tested its intelligence and its capability to follow instructions. While we have witnessed firsthand Bertholdt's fine control over the Colossal Titan, we wished to research this under less life-threatening circumstances.

• We carried out some trials to test the constructive capabilities of the Colossal Titan. Unfortunately, most materials would combust or burst at its frightening surface temperature and it may only be useful in clearing rubble.

• Our most recent tests involved live participants present during transformation. Bertholdt transformed holding first a live chicken and then a live sheep to test if they would survive such a volatile process. Unfortunately, the sheep did not stay in one piece and tests on live participants were suspended indefinitely.

This is where our experiments end. It is not a simple task to sneak a prisoner outside the Walls and have him transform into a 60 metre tall titan unnoticed while also ensuring he would not escape, so our window of opportunity was often severely limited.

Hopefully, this list offers insight into which matters have occupied us thus far.

Respectfully
