Another romance for Foyle, but with someone no one has used before as far as I know. There is a mystery, but it only serves as background for the love story. This is my first story so I'd appreciate feedback. If it didn't appeal to you, it would help me to know why.

May 1945 - A story that explores what Andrew's post-war transition might looked like for him and his father if Rosalind were alive

In essence, a sequel to "When Darkness Falls". Almost a year has passed and although Foyle is very happy for his former driver, Andrew is still not convinced. When a father and son visit the country for a very important Christening, nothing goes to plan. A murder, with the usual dose of deceit and narcissism, affects everyone - not least of all a struggling new mother.

Late Summer and early Autumn, 1939: The nation goes to war. The Stewart family join the fray.

1933 - It was Sunday and for some reason Detective Inspector Christopher Foyle's fourteen-year-old son Andrew had decided that he wasn't going to church. Foyle and Andrew discover that sometimes the best way to cope with the lost traditions is to make new ones.

1945 - Foyle had frequently wished during the war that Andrew were a better correspondent only to discover, completely by accident, that his son had written far more letters than ever made it home. Letters that, even after the fact, provided a glimpse into the life his son had lived for 5 years.

1941 - "Foyle a word?" Reid's voice was strained and Foyle immediately pivoted and saw his friend grimacing as he stood near the back wall of the warehouse they had just raided; one hand tucked into his tunic."

After the funeral for Hilda Pierce, Foyle accepts Sam's resignation and rejects a friendship with Elizabeth Addis, but he cannot entirely break all ties with the Security Service as Sir Alec Myerson sets him a task: finish Hilda's last investigation.

A continuation of 'The Christmas Collection'. Foyle has a less than peaceful New Year's Eve.
