SEASON 1: CHAPTER 1:The Start of an Era

"I'm not really sure that's a good idea," said a black-haired young boy with hesitation in his voice, busy tying his black cleats.

Another boy, with shining blonde hair and radiant blue eyes sighed at his friend's concern. "Awh come on, Chad!" He smirked confidently, folding his arms together. "It's gonna be fun, don't you trust me?"

The boy finished tying his cleats as he stood up and lightly tapped the ground with the tip of his shoe. He looked into his friend's blue eyes with his own emerald green eyes and gave him a disappointed sigh.

"Fine, if you want it so badly, I'll pass the ball to you. You're the captain after all, Damian." Chad muttered with a slight hint of sarcasm in his tone, but his friend was much too enthusiastic to notice it.

Damian patted Chad on the back as they both made their way to a group of fellow fourth graders like them, all clad in black jerseys with a white stripe down the middle, their last name and a number on the Chad, his jersey said "CHADSON" with his number being 10, while Damians was "KAISER" with the number 7.

The boys all grouped up as they listened to their coach draw out all their positions and basic strategies for their match, Damian was put as one of the two forwards, while Chad was assigned the role of a Central Attacking Midfielder.

As Damian and Chad listened to the coach, suddenly one of their teammates, a boy with a dark complexion and short dark hair whose jersey said "KING" with the number 70 jumped on them from behind, wrapping his hands around their necks. On the whiteboard he was amongst one of the four defenders.

"You guys are lucky you got me on defense, 'cause with that guy as our keeper, we ain't winning by much!"

Damian giggled, "You're right about that, Jeff!" He patted Jeff on the back, both the boys laughed together, thoughChad didn't have a change in his expression, capturing Damian's attention.

"What's wrong Chad? Don't tell me you still hangout with that nerd!"

Chad kept his eyes locked on the boy they poked fun was a boy wearing white goalkeeper attire, his name on the jersey reading "WALKER" and the assigned number 11, unusual for a goalkeeper. He was a bit shorter than the rest of the team, his hair a similar shade of black to Chads, but much longer as it was starting to touch his shoulders. Another distinct feature about him was his rather unusual, yellow eyes that stood out in a room despite the boy himself having a lack of notable presence.

"Come on, man, cut it out!" Chad moved his attention away from their goalkeeper, glaring at Damian, "I'm not friends with that dork anymore, let's go warm up." Giving Damian and Jeff a smirk, he picked up a football and headed towards the exit of the locker room.

"Now you're talking!" Jeff exclaimed, running after Chad towards the pitch.

Damian watched them run out, turning his attention towards their Goalkeeper and letting out a brief "hmph" followed by a mischievous smirk, though soon after he followed Chad and Jeff to the pitch for a quick warm up.

...

Competition isn't exclusive to Earth, somewhere in vast outer space, a heated chase unfolded.

A sleek, red spaceship with a pointed nose expertly maneuvered between large asteroids floating about, but right behind it was a much bulkier, crescent shaped with round edges white spaceship.

"In the name of the Intergalactic Police Force, stop your vehicle on the nearest planet!" The crescent ship called out to the pilot of the red spaceship, a purple slime-like alien who controlled the ship using slime tendrils. He blurted out some incomprehensible noises before turning off the communication device of the ship.

"Looks like he's not letting up, huh?" The pilot of the Police ship muttered. He was a large, muscular red skinned humanoid with four arms—a Tetramand—wearing a white & gray bodysuit. "Looks like I'll have to bring out the big guns!" He slammed his fist down on a large red button on the control panel.

The crescent ship slowed down a bit, as light blue energy started to gather between the tips of the crescent, which then shot a massive beam of blue energy towards the red ship!

The red ship was caught up in the beam, but it wasn't damaged at all! Instead the beam completely stopped the ship's movement, bringing it closer to the white ship, the slime life form shrieking out in frustration.

"Oh yea, another catch of the day! Bossman better give me a raise for this one!" the Tetramand praised himself, reeling back on his seat as he threw up his claw-shaped feet on the dashboard. "Nothing can ruin this moment for me, booyah!"

But soon, the confident police officer's peace would be ruined by abrupt beeping from the ship's radar. as he saw an unidentified flying object rapidly approach his ship!

"Crap!" the Tetramand shouted, quickly grabbing the joysticks used to control the vehicle and turning them to the right in one swift motion!

The flying object just barely avoided a full on collision, scraping by the ship and seemingly was blown off its intended course, disappearing into the vastness of space, leaving the crescent ship roughed up on its left side.

"Damn! How am I gonna explain this to HQ?!" The Tetramand grunted. "At least I caught the darn scallywag though—" but even that joy was robbed from the police officer, as the damage done to the ship was significant enough to turn off the magnetic beam, which allowed the slime and his red ship to blast off into space.

The Tetramand growled in anger, tightly clenching all of his fists.

Back on Earth, two teams of fourth grade students from different schools were about to face off in a game of football.

The teams and referee simultaneously walked onto the pitch. Blackville Elementary, the home side, took the left side of the pitch, while their adversary, Bellwood Elementary took the right side. Blackville players had blackshirts with a white stripe down the middle, while Bellwood had a white shirt with a black stripe down the middle.

The captains of both teams stepped up to the middle of the pitch. For Blackville it was Damian Kaiser, while for Bellwood, a boy with a darker complexion stepped up, his hair short and black, along with thick eyebrows and large ears, his head unusually shaped like an American football.

The Bellwood captain extended his hand towards Damian, but the Blackville captain rudely slapped it away.

"I don't shake hands with losers," Damian smiled condescendingly.

The Bellwood representative didn't feed Damian a reaction, in the meantime, the referee informed both captains about the coin flip to decide who starts with the ball, the winner of which was Bellwood.

Shortly after the referee's whistle blew, Bellwood's captain kicked the ball forward, but keeping it close to his feet, Damian attempted to steal the ball from his opponent, but the lanky boy dribbled past him, which left Damian only able to look at the back of the boys jersey, reading "MURRAY" with the number 9, the Blackville captain was left in the dust by Cash as he could only watch in defeat as Bellwoods striker dribbled past the entire midfield, including Chad!

After beating the midfield with basically no difficulty, Cash couldn't help but smirk. He was around 30 meters from the penalty box when all the defenders rushed straight at him!

"Don't let him through guys!" Jeff shouted at the top of his lungs, attempting a slide tackle to knock the ball from under Cash's foot!

But Cash also had teammates! Before Jeff could reach the ball, Cash passed it to a slightly chubby boy with glasses and brown, unkempt hair, whose jersey read "J.T" with the number 11. Once the ball was safe in J.T's possession, Cash jumped over Jeffs slide, running into the penalty box and receiving a pass from J.T. Wasting no time, Cash launched the ball down the field, causing the Blackville goalkeeper to flinch instead of attempting to save it!

Cash and J.T run back to their half of the field to celebrate with the rest of their team, while Damian and Jeff approach their goalkeeper with angry frowns on their face.

"What the hell, man? We're gonna lose because of you!" Damian shouted at his teammate.

Jeff was quick to also follow up on Damian's critique of their goalie, "Yeah, dork! Don't let this happen again! Or else you're gonna hang with the squirrels!"

Fear was visible on the boy being threatened, he could only mumble out a quiet "Sorry," as he kept his head down in shame.

Chad watched from a distance as his two friends picked on the boy, but he chose not to intervene and let out a sigh instead, his expression being that of both concern and disappointment.

Damian and Jeff left the boy alone as they returned to their position, with Blackville starting in possession.

As the arbiter blew his whistle, Damian kicked the ball towards Chad, while the Blackville captain ran into the opposition's half to put himself in a favorable position to receive a pass.

But the leading scorer of the game didn't wait either! Right after the ball left Damians foot, Cash gave chase to the ball to attempt to retrieve it from Chad! However, he'd find himself quickly pausing his sprint as Chad never got hold of the ball, he passed the ball as soon as it found itself near him, sending the rolling ball under his fellow midfielders feet, who then took off running into the enemy territory!

"See ya, chump!" Chad smirked.

He started his run right after completing his pass, leaving Cash in the dust as the ball was given back to Chad by his teammate, but Bellwood's captain wouldn't let Chad do as he wished! The lanky boy chased Chad, which proved a problem for Blackville's midfielder as Cash was much faster than him, and the gap between them was rapidly closing!

Chad felt nervous about having Cash on his back and it certainly wasn't something he wanted, and what's even worse was that he could see another Bellwood player coming at him!

But to his surprise, Jeff suddenly appeared from behind Cash, matching his speed and putting his hand in front of Cash' torso to slow him down, allowing Chad to get further ahead!

"I got you, Chad!"

"Damn! Get off me!" Cash grunted, shoving Jeff's hand away.

Chad smiled and gave a thumbs up to Jeff, dribbling past the approaching midfielder of Bellwood, he found himself in a clear position, and spotted a well positioned Damian near the penalty box!

Chad kicked the ball high into the air, flyingtowards Damian! The captain of Blackville received it with his chest as it fell under his feet, before delivering a mighty kick to the ball, sending it straight into the back of the net, leaving the goalie unable to react in time!

Chad ran towards Damian with a smile on his face, piggybacking him to celebrate the equalizer together, they soon are also joined by the enthusiastic Jeff who attempts to join on the piggyback, causing the trio to fall together onto the green grass of the pitch, laughing in joy of their hard earned goal , made possible only by their teamwork!

"Let's get another one, guys!" Damian yelled enthusiastically, followed by a loud "Yeah!" from Jeff and Chad.

Eventually the trio had to get up and return to the field for the game to restart, but Blackville was certainly in high spirits after their performance!

Unfortunately though, the following minutes of the game actually proved to be quite uneventful. Blackville's midfield dominated the game which led to a constant supply of scoring opportunities for Damian, but the captain squandered all of them.

That was until the last minute of the game, where Damian fell due to a bad challenge by one of Bellwoods defenders, luckily for them it was right outside of the penalty box, which resulted in a free kick instead of a penalty.

With the score tied one-one, Chad got in position to take the free kick as he was the designated free kick taker, but before the referee blew his whistle, he was approached by Damian.

"Hey, Chad! I got an idea, how about you just use the free kick to pass to me? They won't expect it and I'll score right into the net!" Damian proposed the idea to Chad, who didn't meet his friend's optimism for this idea.

"I don't know, man.. You haven't really finished any of your past shots, you know?" Chad frowned as a sour expression grew on the captain's face.

"Oh come on, Chadson! I'm the captain, so just follow my orders!" Damian barked, frustration rising in his voice, running off to his position before Chad could respond.

"Right.." Chad muffled under his breath, he was conflicted between passing to his friend and taking the shot himself, which he was sure he could take, as Bellwoods goalie and defenders definitely weren't the best around.

Chad set the ball on the ground, he put his hands on his hips, taking a second to focus on his breath and calm the dilemma in his mind, he took a few steps back and as the referee blew his whistle, Chad ran up to the ball and kicked it!

The football went low on the ground, past the wall of defenders and into the corner of the net, making the score two to one and winning the game for Blackville!

The crowd erupted in cheers as Chad was quickly swarmed by his teammates, all except for Damian and Jeff who stood away from the group that was embracing Chad, giving him a sour look.

The Blackville team lifted Chad into the air, throwing him up and catching him, while being thrown into the air he noticed the unsatisfied look of Jeff and Damian, which turned his grin of joy into a slight frown.

Eventually both teams headed off to their lockers where their players could wash up and catch their breath after the game, Chad had just finished putting his black cleats into his locker and closing it, as Damian and Jeff approached him from behind.

"What was that all about Chadson? I told you to pass it!" Damian stepped closer towards Chad, poking him in the chest.

Chad took a step back, his back hitting the locker."L-Listen man,you kept missing the target, and we needed the win! I just did what I had t-" Chad was then suddenly pushed, making him hit the lockers again, causing a loud clatter.

Chad was shocked but also a little scared, he knew the type of person Damian is, but even he didn't see this side of him before! "What the heck man! You could've hurt me!" Chad growled, anger rising in his voice, at which Damian and Jeff laughed.

"Look at little baby, trying to avoid getting an ouchie!" They mocked, mimicking the way one talks down to a child.

Chad got closer to Damian, the two boys now having a stare off."Cut it out, dude, It's not cool."

"Or what, you're gonna tell your daddy?"

Damian responded with a smug smirk on his face, Chad's expression was one of shock, but it quickly turned into one of anger, he grit his teeth as his eyebrows frowned, Chad grabbed his teammate by the shirt as he tackled him to the ground, where a scuffle ensued!

Chad and Damian found themselves in the Principal's office, with the blonde boy having a bruised lip, while the black haired youngster sported a bruised cheek, the two sitting next to each other in front of an empty desk, but face away from each other.

The door then opened as into the office walked a middle aged, dark skinned lady of a buxom figure wearing formal attire. Black heels, dark purple pencil skirt, a blouse of the same color, and a black blazer.

The woman took a seat on the empty chair at the desk, resting her arms on the desk and letting out a sigh."Chadson and Kaiser, huh? So what happened?"

"He pushed me!"

"He stole my goal!"

The boys shouted in unison, turning towards each other as an argument between them ensued.

The principal was taken aback by this, she slammed her hand down on the desk a few times to overtake the loud boys, which resulted in them being quiet."What is all this hostility?! I have seen you guys play as a team, and now you two hate each other?"

The boys kept quiet as the principal scolded their behavior, in both of them there was a sense of guilt, but also pride they didn't want to let go of.

"Listen, you might say it's just the rambling of an old lady, but I'll tell you two this, there's few things in the world as precious and rare as friendship. There might be a point in life where your family won't be there to cheer you up, but a good friend? He will always be there."

The two youngsters sat in silence as they listened to the principal speak, they exchanged a few glances, but on both of their faces there's a look of guilt, the principal continued.

"So don't let this little fight be the end of what you two got alright?" The principal gave them both a didactic look alongside a smile. "Now get outta here! You got a summer to enjoy!" She said enthusiastically, gesturing for the boys to leave the office with her hand.

The two of them both gave a slight bow to the principal as they left the office, initially they didn't say anything to each other, with Damian making his way towards the school's exit.

"Damian, wait!" Chad ran after Damian. "I'm sorry for what happened, really," he said, extending his arm out to Damian for a handshake.

Damian looked at Chad's handshake proposal, he briefly hesitated but ultimately took Chad on the offer, shaking his hand. "Yeah, I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have said and done what I did. I'm glad we're good." Damian slowly smiled.

A grin grew on Chad's face. "Awesome, dude! Well, I guess we won't see each other until summer is over, huh?"

"I'm going to Germany to visit my hometown in a few weeks, you mentioned you're gonna travel around Europe this summer, right?"

"Yeah! I'm going with my Uncle and his son on a trip, I hope it's gonna be tons of fun! Who knows, maybe we'll see each other in Germany?"

"Totally, that'd be sick! Alright man, I gotta blast, but I'll see you around!" Damian then raised his hand in the air going for a high five, which was returned by Chad. The boys shared a laugh as they waved to each other, Damian leaving the school.

Shortly after Damian left the school, a boy walked down the stairs near where Chad stood, the boy being the goalkeeper that Damian and Jeff both harassed during the Bellwood game.

"There you are!" Chad exclaimed with even bigger enthusiasm, as the smile on his face grew even more. "Let's go, Kyle! Your dad's probably waiting for us already, let's hurry up!"

Chad grabbed the smaller boy by the wrist as he started enthusiastically dragging him towards the exit of the school, but Kyle stood his ground, pulling his arm out of Chad's grip.

"Chad." A disappointed expression stood on Kyle's face as he gazed at the floor. "Today wasn't cool, not at all."

The enthusiasm escaped from Chad's face as a sad look appeared on his face.

"I know," he sighed, walking up to Kyle and placing a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry for what I said in the locker room, I shouldn't have."

The boys were both quiet for a short moment.

"Look, I know it wasn't cool but, we're gonna spend the summer together, and I promise I won't do anything like that again, alright? I'm sorry Kyle, I really am."

Kyle lifted his head up, now looking at Chad, the two boys both smiled at each other. Chad then wrapped his hand around Kyle's neck, as the two boys walked towards the exit!

"Woo! Freedom, here we come!" Chad shouted, opening the school door and running outside, finally beginning their summer vacation!

Somewhere in Blackville.

Inside of a parked RV, somewhere in the suburbs, on its lower bunk slept a man. He laid on a bed that was a tad bit too short for him due to his large physique. His rest was cut short by the sudden ring from his smart watch.

The man frowned his eyebrows as he rubbed his eyes, slowly opening them.

"Oh man.. What time is it? How long was I out for?" The man took a look at his watch as he saw an alarm set for 2PM, his eyes widened in shock as he quickly got out of the bed.

The man was tall, at least over six foot and with a well built, muscular light skinned body, he had a strong, square jaw with no facial hair, which complimented his bald head.

He walked over to the sink and quickly washed his face with cold water, wiping it off with a towel and making his way over to the driver's seat.

"I completely forgot to pick Chad's stuff up, the boys are probably done with school already!" He thought to himself. He got behind the wheel, taking a glance at the open vanity mirror to which was attached a photo of two men, himself and another of similar height and build, but with lighter skin, black slicked back hair and light blue eyes.

Seeing the photo, he smiled and let out a small laugh. "Always problems with you, huh?" The man closed the vanity mirror and turn the radio of the RV on.

As the radio turned on, it was in the middle of a local news broadcast, the male radio host reporting the football match that just finished taking place between Blackville Elementary and Bellwood Elementary, making the man smirk.

However! The broadcast was suddenly interrupted by this time, a female voice.

"Breaking News! NASA has just announced that an unidentified spherical object is making its way towards Earth, scientists are yet unsure of the origin of the object but they ruled out the option of it being any form of asteroid, the official report reads that they're unsure of it's landing site, but it can be estimated it will land in the vicinity of North America, scientists are unsure of the potential damage the object could cause if it strikes land. This has been Laura Greenwood for Chicago News."

The man took an interest in the news report, raising an eyebrow at the radio, before taking a glance at the clear, blue sky above Blackville. "Something's coming… And I don't think It's any good.." He thought to himself, as he proceeded to turn the ignition key, driving off into Blackville.

Shortly after, the RV drove up to a moderately sized house in the suburbs, it was barely any different than other houses around it, a tan colored, two story house with an attic and a garage attached to the house, the RV parked in the driveway as the man got out of the car, walking up to the door and ringing the doorbell.

He didn't have to wait long for an answer, the door was opened by a petite woman in her thirties, she had long, waist-length platinum blonde hair, but what would catch anybody's eye in her appearance were her eyes, an entrancing emerald-green.

"Cage! You're finally here, It is so great to see you! Please, come in!" The woman spoke with a warm smile as she opened the door widely, inviting the man in.

"Lily! I'm sorry I took so long, I was just laying down and I just got completely knocked out! If not for the alarm, I would've never gotten up!" Cage chuckled, walking inside the house and closing the door behind him while Lily started heading up the stairs.

"I'll be down in just a second, I just gotta get Chad's bag from his room." The woman called from the staircase.

"Alright, take your time!"

Cage took a look around the house, It was just like how he remembered it. "Lily always insisted on keeping everything neat and tidy, she couldn't bear to leave even a speck of dust laying around."

He walked into the living room as he was struck by a sense of nostalgia, he remembered how he and his friend, the man from the photo in the RV, used to sit on the sofa of the living room in front of the TV enjoying a sports game together while munching on snacks and beverages, which always angered Lily, who scolded them for leaving a mess.

Cage's trip down memory lane was suddenly interrupted by his hand being touched by a soft, moist and chilly feeling, Cage looked down to his side where he saw a large, muscular pitbull sniffing his hand.

"Princess!" He exclaimed as he knelt down to the dog, patting it on the head. "How you been girl?" As The dog laid on its back, Cage pet its belly instead. "You better be keeping Chad and Lily safe!"

"She is! She's a good girl." Lily said, walking down the stairs, her voice making Princess jump right back to her paws and running over to Lily, earning herself more pats on the head as Lily got to the living room, holding a black duffle bag. "Here's all that Chad packed, so if he complains he doesn't have something, it's on him!"

Cage took the duffle bag from Lily, giving her a reassuring smile. "He's gonna be alright, Lily, he's a strong kid, you got nothing to worry about. Besides, he's with me!"

Lily's face relaxed thanks to Cage's reassurance, she had a smile on her face, as she put her hand on one of his arms. "Thank you for this, really." Cage nodded his head with a smile towards his old friend, he then headed out of the door waving goodbye to Lily, getting in his RV and driving off into the distance.

Lily stood in the door frame of the door as she let out a sigh. "I just hope Chad doesn't get into any trouble."

Back at Blackville Elementary, both Chad and Kyle sat at the edge of a sidewalk, eagerly awaiting their ride.

Chad let out a loud groan as he laid down on the sidewalk, staring into the blue, cloudless summer sky.

"Man, how long is your dad going to take? We've been waiting ages!"

"Yeah.. I know, I wish I could call him but I think I forgot my phone!"

"I wish my mom would buy me a phone, I want one so bad! If I had one, we could just call him!"

Kyle's face grew a bright red hearing Chad say that. "I… Don't remember his phone number."

Their conversation was interrupted by a distant honk which made both Kyle and Chad bolt up to their feet, as they saw the RV driven by Kyle's dad approaching them.

The RV stopped right in front of them as the door opened, revealing Cage in the driver's seat smiling at the two boys.

"Hop in, boys!" Cage gestured for them to go inside, first in was Kyle who ran straight in, going for a hug by wrapping around his fathers neck, Cage chuckled as he returned the hug and patted his son on the back, Kyle then took a seat at the RV dining table.

Chad followed suit as he waved at Cage, before going for a fist bump which was also returned by Cage. "It's good to see you, Mr. Walker! Thanks for this, really!"

"It's no problem Chad, just take a seat and relax, I heard you won the game huh?" Cage said as Chad took a seat at the same dining table, in front of Kyle, the RV door then closed.

"Yeah, I got the winning goal! But someone conceded!" Chad smirked while looking at Kyle, who slightly frowned at Chad's teasing.

"Come on, Chad! Stop teasing me! You know I'm not even that much into football, I play because you asked me to."

Chad chuckled as he relaxed in his seat, laying back as he put his arms behind his head. "Chill out man, I'm just teasing you! Besides, if you don't wanna play, you don't gotta, you know?"

"He's right, you know? Cage chimed in. "I'm not a huge fan of the teasing, but I gotta admit that he's right about that part, you shouldn't do something you don't enjoy just because someone else is doing it, everyone is their own person, with their own strengths and weaknesses, just focus on what works best for you Kyle."

"Yeah, man! Just do what you want, It's not that serious. You know?" Chad followed up, but Cage was quick to yet again give the boys a piece of his mind.

"But, that doesn't make it right to tease others just because they're weaker than you in something, you gotta give them a helping hand, your father taught me that." Cage smirked as he looked at Chad in the rear-view mirror, the boy had a surprised look at his face, accompanied by it turning red.

Chad remained quiet out of embarassment, the boy laid his arms on the dinner table, resting his chin on them, deep in thought.

Kyle took notice of the boy's shift in behavior, it was a rare sight to him as Chad was always someone very energetic, which he shared with others, the life of the party to put it simply.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just.. Thinking." Chad responded in a voice muffled by his arms.

"You're thinking of your dad?"

"Yeah, I guess.. It feels weird without him, he wasn't around often, but when he was it was really cool you know? I miss him."

Kyle remained silent for a brief moment, but to Chad's surprise, a small smile appeared on Kyle's face.

"What?"

"I just think it's really cool that you have good memories of your dad, I don't really remember my mom but, I still have my dad, and you! So it's not all that bad, because I can still make some really awesome memories!" Kyle enthusiastically exclaimed, with pure bliss written on his face.

Chad was shocked by the words of his friend, it was something that he didn't expect but it instantly made him feel better, his previously sorrowful expression was replaced by enthusiasm right away, with a wide smile growing on Chad's face.

"Yeah, man! You're right! Let's make this the best summer we can have, together!"

"Yeah, best summer ever!"

The two boys then fist bumped each other as their cheerful laughter filled the RV, bringing a smile to Cage's face.

However, the laughter got interrupted by a sudden broadcast from the radio, announcing another edition of breaking news, the same female voice that Cage heard earlier spoke yet again.

"Breaking news! We have new information regarding the orb approa-" But before the news reporter could finish her sentence, Cage reached out to turn the radio off.

"Man, they've been buzzing non-stop about this! All day! It's crazy!" Complained Cage, but the two boys in the back had a curious look on their faces.

"It's gotta be aliens, right? I'm telling you!" Chad exclaimed with confidence.

Kyle shook his head in response. "Nah, no way! Even if aliens exist, they're way too far away to actually reach us! You see, studies show tha-"

"Nerd" Chad promptly said, cutting Kyle off which the boy wasn't too fussed about, letting out a heavy sigh.

"There's no way Aliens are coming here, man." Kyle said with much less enthusiasm.

Cage looked at the rear-view mirror, listening in on the boy's conversation with a straight face, but worry in his eyes.

Somewhere in a forest outside of Blackville.

A group of people dressed in white hazmat suits were putting yellow barricade tape around trees, closing off a large area of the forest.

Once the group finished taping the trees, one of the people dressed in the hazmat suit headed deeper into the forest.

As he walked towards his destination, he saw multiple people in the same hazmat suit as him, but also many military officers walking the forest, large satellites and tents set up everywhere, but the hazmat suited man was approaching one, particularly large white tent.

He went inside of it. The tent was filled with loud chatter as several people dressed in military uniforms, but also many scientists dressed in lab coats busily ran around the tent, some of them sat at a computer, speedily clicking away at the keyboard. The man took his helmet off, he was a white, middle aged man with short, wet from sweat black hair, he walked through the middle of the tent approaching the back of a bulky, gray haired military officer, dressed in a camo jacket and pants, alongside brown military boots.

"Lieutenant," The hazmat suited man spoke,"We've secured the estimated landing area."

The gray haired officer turned to the man, revealing a large, bear claw-like scar on his left eye, with the iris of it also being completely white, while his other iris was black.

His face had a rough, battle-worn look on it, he had a gray stubble and a large cigar in his mouth.

"Good, media was given the wrong location, correct?"

"Yes, sir, that would be correct."

The Lieutenant nodded, he briefly took the cigar out of his mouth, shouting into the tent.

"I want an estimated landing time on my desk now!" The Lieutenant then put the cigar back into his mouth, taking a seat at his desk. Shortly after, a lady dressed in a lab coat hurried over to him, placing a stack of papers on his desk before running off in a hurry.

The old lieutenant took the stack into his hand, taking a brief look at them while puffing his cigar.

"Three hours, it better not be a damn minute late!" The Lieutenant slammed the papers back at his desk.

Two and a half hours later, on a road near the forest.

The RV had been on the road for close to three hours now, in that time the trio had made their way out of Blackville, and Chad managed to fall asleep in the seat, while Kyle was occupied with his laptop, looking at various articles online.

"Hey Kyle, wake Chad up, we're gonna make a stop to have some grub." Cage said, parking the RV on the side of the road, prompting Kyle to start shaking Chad awake.

Chad groaned as Kyle attempted to wake him up, but eventually the boy's eyes opened, shortly after they opened Chad started to rub them with his hand.

"Oh man.. What time is it? Where even are we?" Chad took a look out of the RV window, he didn't see much besides that the previously sunny day had started to turn into a sunset, and the city blocks were now replaced with nothing but plains and a dense forest in the distance.

"We've been on the road for roughly three hours now, but you hit the hay pretty quickly." Said Kyle. "But come on, get up! We're about to stop to have some food!" Kyle enthusiastically got up as he ran outside of the RV, following Cage who was setting up a small campfire.

Chad got up from his seat as he did a big stretch, walking out of the RV he felt the summer breeze hit his face which helped him wake up, he briefly admired the sunset, before running over to the rest of his group with a smile on his face.

MEANWHILE

Inside of the forest, closeby to where Chad, Kyle and Cage have stopped for a quick rest, scientists and soldiers have gathered around the previously taped off area, waiting eagerly for an extraordinary event to unfold.

From the large white tents exited the previously introduced Lieutenant, he took a quick look at the watch strapped on his wrist, before walking up to the gathered scientists and soldiers.

"Fifteen minutes until that thing gets here, correct?"

"Yes, sir, that's our estimate, but we can be wrong by a few minutes, more or less." replied one of the scientists.

The Lieutenant lightly nodded his head, taking the cigar out of his mouth and turning his head towards a soldier. "Bring the machine out and place it down, I'm not taking any risks with that damn space orb!"

The soldier saluted his Lieutenant as he, and a group of other soldiers hurried over to a military truck, from which they carried out a medium-sized, tall, sleek, black cylinder-shaped device which they carried into the taped area, placing it right down the middle.

"God forbid the president learns how much we spent on that damn thing, run it for me again, how is it supposed to help us get that orb?" The Lieutenant turned to one of the scientists, still puffing his cigar.

"Well, It will generate a forcefield which will absorb the initial collision with the object, without it, the object would most likely create a crater we couldn't possibly keep from the media, and we don't know if the object would even survive such a crash."

The Lieutenant kept nodding as the scientist broke down the details for him, but observing that the soldiers successfully placed down the device, he gestured for them to return back to him, and after he did, he was handed a remote by one of them.

"So I just gotta press the button? Let's give this hunk of junk a shot."

The Lieutenant pressed down on the button causing the machine to open up, revealing a light blue core that suddenly shot a blue beam into the sky, forming a blue forcefield that enveloped the taped off area.

The scientists cheered in joy upon seeing the device work, while the soldiers and Lieutenant looked in awe, the cigar falling out of his mouth.

"Well, I'll be damned."

Nearby, the trio sat around a campfire, as Cage opened up a mini fridge, smiling towards the boys.

"So, who's ready for some grub?" Cage's hand rummaged through the mini fridge, while the boys simultaneously replied "Me!"

But to their surprise, what Cage pulled out was not the food they were expecting at all, instead, Cage pulled out a large larva!

The boys had disgust painted all over their face, causing Chad to stutter.

"W-What is that?"

Cage couldn't help but laugh heartily at how terrified the boys were.

"Oh man, you guys should see the look on your faces, I did say we're stopping for some grub!" Cage's laughter grew even louder after he explained his pun, still holding onto the larva.

"B-But..We..We won't actually eat it.. Right?" Asked the terrified Kyle.

"What? No, of course not! I'm not gonna poison kids! I'm just messing around, I got some sausages here instead!" Cage threw away the larva, after which he reached into the mini fridge and pulled out a pack of sausages.

"Man, I think I lost my appetite, right Chad?" Said Kyle, turning to Chad, but Chad had a confused look on his face, staring at something in the distance.

"What… Is that?"

"What do you mean? Just sausages this time!" replied Cage, but Chad instead pointed his finger at something behind Cage.

"No, I mean that." Kyle and Cage both turned around towards where Chad was pointing, and saw that the thing he was pointing at was the large forcefield coming from the forest.

Each one of them had a shocked expression on their face, Kyle muttered out a quiet "woah" under his breath, but Cage wasn't in awe like the boys, his shocked expression was that of worry, he quickly sprung to his feet and turned to the boys.

"We gotta go, now!" Cage ran to the RV, and Kyle followed suit, the only one lagging behind was Chad, still in awe of the force field, but Kyle quickly ran up to him and grabbed him by the arm, snapping him out of it, as the two boys ran straight into the RV.

"Dad, what's going on? What's that thing?" questioned Kyle as soon as he got in, the door of the RV closing as Cage turned the key, starting to drive away from the plains.

"I don't know Kyle, but I know It's no good." Cage held a serious expression in his tone and on his face, meanwhile, Chad walked up to one of the RV windows as he kept his sight glued on the force field, but as the RV started driving away, he caught something glistening in the sky, becoming brighter and brighter.

"A falling star? But it's not even night!'' Chad exclaimed, which caught the attention of Kyle who walked up to him, Chad pointed at the sudden light in the sky.

"You're right, It looks similar to one! But it's getting brighter and brighter, that's weird."

Cage listened in on the conversation of the boys, he took a quick look behind him and as he saw the sudden light in the sky, his eyes widened as he shouted at the boys.

"That's not a falling star, grab onto something, quick!" Cage then slammed the gas pedal, causing the RV to speed up!

Chad quickly grabbed onto a seat, but the same can't be said for Kyle who got caught off guard by the sudden speed up, almost falling to the ground but getting caught by Chad instead!

"Gotcha!" Chad pulled Kyle up, the two boys clinging to the same seat.

The boys kept staring at the window, looking at both the forcefield and the mysterious light in the sky, but Kyle noticed something, pointing at the light.

"Chad, Look! It's coming right at the Forcefield, see?"

"You're right, Kyle! It's… About to hit it?!" Chad's eyes widened as suddenly the light collided with the blue force field, creating a massive shockwave that was coming straight at the RV!

Cage tried to outspeed the shockwave, but it was to no avail! The RV suddenly got hit with the shockwave as it shook, causing the boys to fall to the ground and Cage to lose control of the wheel! He attempted to regain it, driving the RV off road into the empty plains, but suddenly, something that came falling from the skies crashed right into the ground. Cage slammed into the brakes to avoid collision, but because of the sudden stop he hit his head on the wheel, getting knocked out as a result!

Shortly after the RV stopped, Chad got out of the dinner table seat as he then knelt down under the table, helping Kyle get up.

"You alright, man?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, you?"

Chad nodded, the two turned towards the driver's seat where they saw the unconscious Cage.

"Dad!"

"Uncle Cage!" The two boys exclaimed as they rushed to his aid.

"We gotta pull him out!" Said Chad.

"Yeah, pull!"

The two boys attempted to pull Cage out of the driver's seat, but with great difficulty.

"He's heavy!" Chad exclaimed, as both he and Kyle pulled with all their might, finally getting him out of the seat as they dragged him outside of the RV.

They laid him out on the ground, busy to notice anything unusual around them, the two boys started shaking Cage, trying to get him to wake up.

Kyle shook his dad with all his might, his eyes watered with tears as his dad wasn't waking up.

"Dad.. Dad, please, wake up!" Pleaded Kyle, his tears running down from his eyes to his chin, dropping on Cage's face, Chad looks in disbelief and shock, but suddenly, Cage furrows his brows, and after a groan, he opens his eyes!

Kyle immediately wrapped his hands around his neck as Cage returned the hug.

"Don't worry kid, I'm not going anywhere." He said, holding Kyle tightly.

Chad let out a sigh of relief seeing Cage open his eyes, he decided to leave Kyle and Cage to it, as he turned around, he noticed smoke coming out of a small crater, with light green light emanating from it.

Chad walked up closer to it, his face full of curiosity when he saw that inside the crater laid a small orb covered by a green force field, flashing on and off, and eventually, turning off permanently.

But once the force field disappeared, the orb opened up, revealing its contents.

A gray, bulky watch with a green hourglass.
