You were made to be mine

When Jared met Bella, he realized he'd never fallen in love before.

There need to be more stories about Jared and Bella. This is one. It's all human, and the only thing remaining from the original story is the names. The story is written mainly on Jared's Pov.

Chapter one

Jared was nursing his beer while sitting in the warm afternoon sun on a pier. His eyes were following a small motorsailer approaching the marina. Its sails were down, and it looked like only one person was in the boat; at least Jared couldn't see anyone other than a young woman steering the boat toward the marina. Jared emptied his beer and got up, ready to help her moor if anyone else wasn't in the boat. Marina had many vacancies, most boats had just left the island, and new arrivals had yet to come to spend the night in Lagoon Cove Marina.

The woman steering the boat attached the fenders on both sides, and it was then that she looked up at him. She smiled, and Jared's breath hitched: she was breathtakingly beautiful. Jared could see that even though she was still quite a long way from the pier.

"Throw me the rope!" Jared shouted after he recovered from the surprise.

"I Will. Thanks!" she shouted back.

The woman moored her boat masterfully to the berth, attaching the rear ropes. She moved to the bow and threw the rope at him. Jared tied it up and watched as she went back to stop the engine. Damn, she was gorgeous. Her long, tanned legs went for miles, and her slender figure was clad in well-worn and faded Demin shorts and red wind stopper. On her feet, she had white sneakers. Her long reddish-brown hair was in a ponytail she'd pulled through the opening of her dark blue cap.

Jared watched as she secured the docking lines behind the boat, took off her life jacket, and disappeared inside the cabin. He felt a bit of an idiot for staying outside waiting for her to come out, but he couldn't make himself leave. It was normal conduct to help other sailors to moor but to wait for one to come out, not so much. She most likely wasn't expecting him to be standing here when she disembarked her boat.

And sure enough, she looked surprised to see him still loitering there. Her surprise soon changed into a blinding smile, and for a while, Jared lost his ability to speak. She was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. Her high cheekbones were pink from the sea air and dusted with light freckles that spread also to her straight nose and forehead. Her big dark brown eyes with some green around the irises held an amused expression. Her full lips color of dark raspberry made him forget his name for a while. He tried not to stare at her lips. Inwardly, he shook his head, trying to find his brain. The blood was embarrassingly rushing south.

"Thank you for helping me. I'm Bella," she said as she knelt to adjust the ropes. Jared tried hard not to look at her deliciously round ass failing miserably.

"You're welcome," he said, clearing his throat. "I'm … (fuck what an idiot he was) … Jared."

"Hello, Jared. Have you been here long?" she asked.

"No, we came last night."

"There are usually more boats here," she said. "I come here every year on this exact weekend, and it has never been so silent."

"Maybe people have stayed behind to watch the Olympic games," he offered.

She laughed. "Well, if that's the case, I won't complain. It's nice and quiet here."

"This is the first time I'm here," Jared said, wanting to keep chatting with her. "Do you always come alone? I mean, it's pretty brave to sail alone."

"My friends are coming later today," she told him. "I have a lot of experience. I've been sailing with my dad and never take risks. Besides, my boat is very easy to steer alone. I do it all the time."

Jared could not help wondering why this gorgeous girl was sailing alone. Surely, she had a boyfriend somewhere.

It was impossible not to stare at her. Jared had never seen anyone with her coloring. Her hair, eyes, and lips made him think of raspberries on dark chocolate mousse with light cream, the color of her skin sprinkled with light rose gold sugar. Fuck how he wanted to lick that cream, taste her raspberry lips. Yes, Jared Cameron, boyfriend of Kim Connweller, fantasized about licking another woman. Screw his life.

"What boat is that?" he asked, wrenching his eyes off of her and turning to look at her boat. "It looks pretty old, but it's well-kept."

"It's a Haber. It was my father's before he gave it to me. It's over 40 years old, but we've modernized it somewhat. If there is something I like in the boat, it's proper heating," Bella told him. She looked at her boat affectionately.

"Where are you coming from?" Jared asked. Hoping he didn't sound too nosy. But he wanted to know more about her. For what purpose, he didn't know. He knew what he wanted, but that wasn't a possibility, was it?

"I spent the night at April Point but left from Vancouver on Wednesday."

"Are you from Vancouver?" Jared asked before he could think better. He was being too intrusive, but he couldn't help himself. Luckily Bella didn't seem to mind his inquiries.

"I live there, yes. You are from the States, aren't you?"

"Yes. This is the first time we've come to this side of the border with our boat. We dock came from Seattle."

"That's an awesome trip you've made. I especially love the Rosario bit around Cypress and Orcas Islands. It is so beautiful, and waters are often good around there."

Jared was spellbound by her. For a moment, he was overcome by how sure of herself she was, and yes, so damn beautiful that all he could do was nod. His standing there like a fucking idiot made him feel awkward. He wasn't used to feeling awkward, and it made him nervous, also not something familiar to him. Not when it came to women, anyway.

"Hey, I must go pay my mooring fee," she said, amusement deepening in her bright eyes. "Maybe I'll see you around?"

"Yeah, see you," Jared said, feeling his cheeks heat. What a fucking moron he was. And what the fuck was he doing anyway. He had Kim, didn't he? But … the sad truth was that he couldn't fucking care about Kim. It's been a long time since he felt anything more than slight irritation towards Kim, and now it was mainly indifference between them. She felt the same; he knew that. But still, they've stayed together. They'd been together for ages and were still together mainly because of their mothers. They were good friends and had been planning Jared's and Kim's wedding from the first day they started dating. And things were going pretty well in the bedroom. There had never been problems with sex when it came to Kim.

Jared closed his eyes and turned his face toward the sun. He was so fucking tired of his life with Kim. But he hadn't had the energy to break free. Facing his mother's disappointment was the thing he hated the most. Talking about fucked up. What a fucking looser he was.

"Who was that?" Jared heard Jacob asking.

Jared opened his eyes and saw Jacob watching after Bella whistling silently.

"She is Bella. I helped her to moor her boat."

"Did you see her legs?"

Suddenly Jared felt irritated about Jacob and didn't say anything. He wanted to break his kneecaps for eye-fucking Bella.

"Was she alone?"

"Yeah, she came alone, but she's meeting her friends later."

"More long-legged goddesses, I hope," Jacob sighed dramatically. "I need some pussy. Come on; lunch is ready. Paul and Sam had done their best again."

Jared sighed and went to get his beer bottle and followed Jacob.

Later in the day, Jared was with his friends sitting by a campfire finishing their early dinner, when he saw Bella again. She was with a bunch of guys who were laughing and teasing her. She was laughing and obviously enjoying herself. Were these her friends? All guys, no other long-legged goddesses anywhere. Damn.

"Isn't that the girl you saw earlier?" Jacob asked.

"Yeah," he grunted.

"Damn, are those her friends?" Jacob asked, sounding disappointed, probably for a different reason than Jared.

Jared didn't reply. He didn't know what the hell they were.

Bella and her friends were carrying life jackets and paddles. Bella saw him just as they were passing their campfire.

"Oh, hi, Jared," she said. "Meet my friends: Jasper, Emmet, Peter, and James."

Jared nodded. "Hi, Bella! These are mine: Paul, Sam, Jacob, Embry, and Quil."

All males acknowledged each other with suppressed greetings. All his friends, except Sam and Paul, were staring at Bella; being as beautiful as she was, Jared could hardly blame them. Bella's friends seemed annoyed by this, and after quick nods at them, they rushed Bella to keep going.

"Come on, Bella, we need to hurry," one of the guys, who Jared gathered was Jasper, said to her.

"Yes, I'm coming," she said to her friend and then turned to look at him. Jared felt his heart making an upward leap when he met her eyes. "We're going kayaking. There had been orcas around," she told him, waved goodbye, and followed her friends.

"Damn," Embry sitting next to him, muttered, "she's hot."

Jared could pretend not to be interested in her, but his friends knew him too well. They also knew how things were between him and Kim. So, he blatantly stared after her retreating ass and legs and felt his cock swelling in his jeans while all kinds of images flowed into his mind. And there was a fucking thing he could do about that.

For two days, Jared watched her from a distance. For two fucking days, he tried to find an opportunity to talk to her and only once succeeded, throwing in a few words asking about orcas and whether they had seen them. It'd been the only subject he could think of talking about with her. But when she started to tell him about how many magnificent animals they'd seen, one of the fuckers had come to interrupt, telling her her father was calling. Jared was ready to cut his other ball off if that was true. Bella had promised to tell him more later, but it never happened. Her friends were always there, blocking him. He didn't understand what the fuck that was all about. Why were they so possessive of her? As long as he could see, they were only her friends; he hadn't seen anything suggesting she was dating any of the guys. He would have seen since he could not take his eyes off her whenever she was around.

It was quite unsettling; he'd never been so obsessed about anything. He was behaving like a lovesick puppy, fantasizing over a woman when he was not in a place to do such a thing. He might be an ass in many ways, but he was no cheater. But every time she glanced back at him, a small smile tugging the corner of her mouth, he was hot and hard and ready for her. She noticed him, and it made his mind and cock go wild. It was maddening. He was playing with the idea of calling Kim, telling her they were through. Just so he could have a clear conscience when he was eye-fucking another woman.

On the third day, Jared had to give up and admit that he'd lost his chances with Bella, whatever he might think that "chances" meant; Bella and his friends were clearly preparing to leave the island.

Jared decided to go for a little walk. He didn't want to watch her go. Jared could not explain why he was feeling like shit. Not really. She was gorgeous and seemed a pretty cool chick, but after all, she was just a chick. The most beautiful and alluring woman he'd ever seen, for sure, but that was all. And he had Kim, he kept telling himself.

Jared walked around the small pond and wandered back, hoping she'd gone. He would soon forget her and go on with his life. He was feeling damn depressed when he came around the corner of a boat shed, but to his shock and utter delight, he bumped into her when she came out of the shed carrying a rope.

Jared grabbed her arm to prevent her from falling. Her arm was slim but had prominent muscles.

"Oh," she breathed, and Jared could smell her ocean breeze scent, and his cock began to swell. What the fuck had he tried to tell himself: he wanted her bad, and he knew without a doubt if he could have her, he would. And he knew she felt it too, the want, the lust. Pupils in her eyes dilatated as she held him in a long stare. She licked her bottom lip pulling it between her teeth, causing him almost to groan out loud.

"I'm staying one more night, but my friends are leaving. I'll go see them off," she said, clearing her throat without taking her eyes off his.

And she walked away.

Jared stared after her dumbfound. She'd let him know she was staying alone for one more night. Did it mean what he hoped it meant?

He sat on a big log and took his phone from his pocket. His hands shook. He was going to do what he'd been thinking for the last three days: he was going to break up with Kim. He was going to be a fucking jerk and do it by text. He wasn't proud of it, but he would take the shit later. He didn't have time to fight with Kim now.

Trying to think what to say, he closed his eyes. He tried to picture Kim. He had loved her once, and she'd loved him. But all that was history. The only thing left between them were the memories of better times, but their feelings for each other had changed into indifference. He just didn't fucking care anymore what she thought and felt. And he knew it was the same for her. He knew he should feel bad for his actions, but he didn't.

Jared watched Bella talking to her friends; they seemed unhappy about her staying. After some heated words, they seemed to accept her decision. Bella hugged her friends, and he started texting. Not overthinking about what to say, he typed:

Kim, I'm sure this won't come as a surprise, but I want us to break up. You know as I do there hasn't been anything good going on between us for a long time. I'm a jerk doing this with a text and you deserve better. But we'll talk more when I'm back home. I'm sorry. See you next week.

Without even reading the message, he pressed send, and after the message had gone through, he closed his phone. It was a coward's way out, but he didn't want to talk to her right now. He had other plans.

Bella waved at her friends and stayed watching as they sailed away. Then she turned around and started toward her boat. Jared sat unmoving, almost holding his breath. She glanced over her shoulder straight at him and smiled.

Jared was at a loss. Should he follow her? Yes. He got up. No. He sat down. Yes. He was on his feet again.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Jared heard Embry asking. He'd obviously seen him hopping up and down like the damned idiot he was.

Jared decided not to answer. What would he say anyway?

"Guys are eager to leave today," Embry said. "Would you be okay to go?"

Panic filled Jared. Fuck no, he didn't want to leave yet. But what would he say for his reason for wanting to stay? It wasn't necessary for them to go today.

"Would it be okay if we leave tomorrow?"

"Why?"

Jared turned to look at Embry. "I..." he started. What the fuck should he say... "I think I have a chance with Bella." Honesty was usually the best way.

"A chance? You mean a chance to fuck her?" Embry asked. "What about Kim?"

"I just broke up with her," Jared said, smiling sheepishly and lifting the hand holding his mobile phone.

Embry glanced at his phone, and a huge grin broke into his face. "It was about damn time you did. Way to go, man," he said and clapped his shoulder.

Jared knew what his friends thought about him and Kim dating, and in their opinion, he should have dumped her a long time ago, but Embry's reaction still took him aback. Embry himself was a loyal boyfriend to the core and would never do what he was planning or at least hoping to do.

"You know what, we'll rent you a cottage for the night so you can have some privacy with her. I doubt you want to bang her in our or her boat."

Jared hadn't thought quite that far ahead yet; he couldn't even be sure what Bella meant by staying here. He hoped and thought he got it right, but in the end, one could never be sure of what was going on with women.

But if he had a cottage for the night, he could ask her to have dinner with him or maybe a drink or two and see where it took him, them.

"That is actually a good idea," he said to Embry. "Thanks, man. But I can pay for it myself," he added.

Embry just smiled and left him.

Jared needed to figure out what to do next. Should he just go and ask her to spend some time with him? But before he could make up his mind, Bella hopped out of her boat and, without looking at him, started to follow the path that led up to the bird tower on the top of the hill.

He decided to bite the bullet and followed her.

AN:

So, this is a new story again. I know I still need to finish my old fics, BUT if you start reading this, I have good news; this one is almost finished. It isn't a very long story either, so if you are ready to use your valuable time in reading this, you will get the ending as well. I know I've been bad with my other fics, letting them hang without ending, but I've been struggling with writing and have been reading more than writing. But I'm trying to get back on board with writing and this new story just popped into my head. Could not make it go away. There aren't enough Bella and Jared stories. And I've been enjoying boating this summer with my family and wanted to use that setting in this story.

Let me know what you think. Do you want more? Four chapters are ready, I'm working with the fifth one. Not completely sure, but this will be about seven chapters long with an epilogue.
