My Champion.
(Two-Shot)
.
It was late summer evening of August, Hilary's favourite month. For all the breezes it brought, her own birthday was in this month so that might explain. She growled inwards as she remembered that Kai's birthday was also in the same month.
"Phew, it's really sweltering tonight," she sighed, wiping off the sweat on her forehead, exiting the kitchen after making the dinner for her husband, Tyson.
She got changed into a thin strapped loose top and shorts, tying her messy brunette hair into a rough bun. She glanced herself at mirror and gulped. A curved small red mark with other vague marks around it, on her neck made her remember what had happened a fortnight back. And much to her fears, Tyson didn't know. She never hid anything from him ever since they were married. So this was probably the first time, she was hiding something from him that she wasn't supposed to, not at all.
It has been two years they have been married. The first time Tyson has defeated Kai in Final championships, she had realized her feelings for him. Seeing her slightly changed nature towards him, her softer side made him introspect about what was happening. He had doubt for over an year if she really saw him differently than she did his other friends.
She did banter at times, but most of the times her elegantly timid change of attitude towards him caused an instant attraction from his side. Abruptly, unplanned, he'd kissed her one day when she picked his watch and turned and was handing him. With her less rough, sweeter side and totally caring attitude, she just seemed like his wife.
Plus that ' your girl' teasing he got from his friends made him reconsider his laid back thoughts on her multiple times.
Much before they got married, Tyson has trained Hilary to become a blader, just like him. Though Hilary was doubtful of her own self in the start, but he taught her well. He was her coach, her husband and so he put all his efforts in perfecting her, and by six months of their marriage, she has become an awesome and exquisite blader. He doubted if she could defeat him one day.
He just didn't know the depth of her love that she wanted him to be at the top always. She always had wanted him to be the best because she had seen him how zealous and passionate he has been ever since they were kids and the thought of him losing to anyone and losing his passion or confidence or getting insane was her biggest nightmare. She remembered very clearly how depressed, irksome and downtrodden he was when his team parted and stranded him and when there was no one except her, Daichi, Kenny and Hiro to help him out his unstable state when his best friends had betrayed him. He almost lost himself and she hated to see him like that. So she didn't want anyone, not even herself to be on the top position except him.
Though Tyson has noticed many times how willingly she loses to him in their practice matches, he was tired of telling her to play her best and sometimes bragged that with even her full potential she anyway wouldn't even be able to beat him. Tyson actually wanted to get her beat him at least once because he wanted to feel her whole unleashed power on him. Sure, when they were at each other's throats and arguing, they often pulled out their blades and battled and she almost unleashed her entire cross on him, he would still emerge as victor.
She would scowl hard at him.
He would smile at her.
She wouldn't prepare dinner for him.
He would hug her from back lovingly.
She would chuckle at his tickles and eventually make him food before he was hungry.
The only thing Tyson didn't know was how crazily passionate she was about protecting his title than he himself was…
Tyson and Hilary both have won the tag-team battles against Kai and Tala since past three years now in the Championships and Tyson has been ten times world-champ in row now.
"Surprise!"
She screamed awfully loud and almost jumped out of her skin as he grasped her shoulders from back in a whim and totally startled her.
"YOU SCARED THE FUCK OUT OF ME!" she was almost trembling, but then scowled and turned her face away.
"Aww, my cute wifey looks sweet as fuck with anger!" he smirked, cupping her cheeks, though she shook her head to get away,
"I told you not to scare me last night also," she sighed and rubbed her head.
"Alright I won't. Shall we have dinner?" he smiled in the sweetest way he can and she smiled back, not irking him to take a bath first.
A moment passed by. She didn't budge, simply staring him like they were. Another moment passed by.
"I am literally exhausted and damp, so I don't get it why are you staring me so hard? Are you that smitten over me?" he teased,
She broke the stare and chuckled with a light blush. He softly pecked her, "I think to my wife, I don't smell that bad even in this state, right?"
'You smell the sweetest all the times.'
"You just want my love all the time. When will you grow up?" She said non chalantly and turned to settle the dinner.
Since past few days she has become pretty protective of him. She placed her elbow against the table front and rested her face in her palms, simply staring at him calmly with a loving look.
"I'm feeling as if we are dating," he amusingly whispered. She didn't even hear him.
After he finished the dinner, he sighed loudly in satisfaction and thumped straight on bed.
"I think you should take a bath, Tys. You'll feel lot better." She bandaged the red mark on her neck subconsciously.
He frowned.
"What's that?"
She stiffened and almost gulped, thinking fast as her back faced him.
"Nothing. How was your day?" She changed the topic.
"It was fine. But I've asked you something." He took two strides and stood behind her, grazing his fingers across hers on her neck.
"What's this mark?"
"H-Hickey." She lied.
"What? I don't remember it giving it you." He confusedly shook his head.
"Who remembers what they do in bed, seriously." She stuttered almost but maintained the confidence in her tone.
"No I mean last time I gave you hickey was on your legs and you nearly ate my brain the next day for the pain they were causing, so I frankly don't remember-"
She shivered at his words. Damn, why he'd such a good memory.
"I don't know. Maybe you just gave and forgot." She sighed loudly, implying that she was slightly irked.
He nodded but felt her attitude slightly uncanny.
"Okay, I'll take a bath and come back." He said carefully, keeping a cautious stare at her as he purposely stepped out of his pants and picked his towel. Her eyes were staring at the floor with an utterly scared look.
She heaved out a sigh when the doorknob closed of the bathroom door.
She quickly completed bandaging the mark she got in that tug of fight.
When he had stepped out of the bathroom with neatly dressed pants, shirtless as well, he noticed that the lights were off and she was lying down with half closed eyes.
He rubbed off his wet hair by her towel purposely again, hoping she would scold him for using her towel but she seemed busy thinking something deep.
He crawled beside her and lied against his pillow, folding his hands beneath his head.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah," She answered hoarsely.
"You don't look so." He held her palm lying on side. She took a deep breather.
"I'm fine." She shot coolly, "When was the last time you got angry at me?"
He blinked at the suddenness of the question but thought nonetheless, "Years back, when you refused to marry me for some stupid reason."
"I remember…" she mused and turned towards him, "How was your day? How's Kai?"
"He's doing good, doctors told that he could be discharged in few more days." Tyson smiled, "I hope he could get well soon."
"He's your best friend, right?" She asked almost scornfully.
"Of course he's." Tyson firmly said, "The cops are still handling his case. They all say it's very complicated and Max's keeping in touch more, and BBA keeps me so busy so I'm not sure who bet the blue out of him yet,"
"You must kill that person if you ever found out, right?" She laughed half-heartily.
"Of course I'll." Tyson said seriously, slightly offended by her laid back tone.
"Thought so," she whispered,
Tyson blinked at her, trying to read her. She looked disappointed, almost derisive.
"Hils… Kai is my best friend. I really care of him. I know he'd had a dark past, he ditched us, and all but he have a different kind of friendship and he has done so much to teach me blading when I was young. He could never hurt me and even if he did, I'll forgive him."
"I understand," she whispered, pretending to be sleepy, her eyes half glassy.
"Are you….crying?" He frowned, pulling her close.
"No I'm not," she whispered, "I'm just sleepy."
He softly leaned and kissed her both eyes.
"Who's more important to you?" She looked straight into his eyes with an imploring look and beating heart, "Kai or me?"
Tyson was slightly startled. His mind froze for a second. This was probably a question he didn't have answer to.
"Hils…" he tried to smile, "You both are important to me. You're my love, he's my friend."
"Wasn't I your friend before you married me?"
Her voice was so low, so hurtful and so tremulous that he bet that it would be a sin if he broke her heart,
"You were, yeah… and are more precious also." He lied for now. Her despondent face broke into a grateful smile and she leaned to cuddle against him.
"Stupid girl," he teased, tickling her waist, "You were worried thinking this? I love you the most, okay."
"You should. I do too." She pecked over his bare neck, the burdens on her heart slightly quelling down.
"How was your day, Hils?" He asked, pecking briefly over her nape, grazing his fingers across her waist.
"Little tiring. I spend little more than usual time in gym today and then blading took another hour. Was exhausted too." She was almost falling asleep when she felt that his brief pecks across her neck were progressing near her bandage.
She silently pulled back, "I'm sleepy," she petulantly said and covered both of them in sheets.
That night, Tyson almost couldn't sleep. He had figured that something was wrong. Hilary had become quite possessive of him these past days and the way she was feeling depressed at Tyson's care towards Kai was something he wished he could solve of and explain her that there was difference between both of them and he equally loved both Kai and her.
'I hope she understands that Kai is important to me just as she is. She has become pretty sensitive past these months… Kai might be my rival. We both beat him and Tala every year and claim our title but aside the battle stadium, we are friends. We always were.' He gazed at his wife and mused, too tired by the days exhaustion.
He leaned and pecked her forehead, wondering if he really bit her on neck anytime recently. He rolled his eyes. 'The mark didn't look like hickey in the first place.'
A/N: I'm really not supposed to be writing anything these days because there is so much of studies I've got to do and things to cover up. But I just couldn't kill my boredom yesterday and ended up writing this. So a fair warning for next chapter which may cause few readers to be displeased or raise few eyebrows because of little sensitive content it includes.
Please review? That'd be really appreciated. -
