Poké Rangers Dino Charge
Chapter 1: Powers of the Past Part 1
Joe Cartwright looked around his own at his family ranch right outside of Solaceon Town. The winds were blowing quietly, and it felt peaceful to finally see some Pokémon running around. Seeing the Bidoof running around the fences with Grumpig and Miltank caused a smile on his face. He was happy to see them again. He then turned around, seeing his Zebstrika galloping around the area. It was a gift from his dad when he went to the Unova Region for a business deal to buy timber and wood from the ranch. He couldn't have it any other way, seeing this wonderful imagery. The sun, shining down on the area, also made the ranch illuminate with happiness. He couldn't have it any other way.
Taking off his brown cowboy hat, his wavy black hair was glistening as the sun illuminated his green eyes, which shined like emeralds. He wore a black muscle shirt with blue jeans and red shoes. He also wore a white vest over his toned body from all of the lifting, chopping and traveling throughout the time. He was strong enough to even break someone's teeth, even without Zebstrika with him. Turning to the ranch, he could see the white house that was two stories. Each window had a brown wooden frame and the front door was black with gold handles. As he reached for the gold handle, he turned the knob. Walking into the house, he could see the whole living room. The living room was wooden and polished with a golden chandelier. There was an L-shaped couch with a glass coffee table, with a black and green remote. On the other side of the wall, there were two shelves of history books from the regions traveled. Usually, Joe would go over to take a look at the books, looking to see what he could learn.
He walked over to the L-shaped couch as he reached over for the glass table, picking up the remote. He turned around as he heard the front door open. Adam walked in, his older brother. Joe was the youngest of three brothers. Adam was the oldest, and in Joe's perspective, could be sometimes temperamental. Adam walked over, sitting down next to him. He had green eyes just like him with black hair that spiked at the end. He had a scruffy facial complexion with a red shirt and black jeans. He was also a little buff, just like Joe. He had black and silver sneakers as he turned to hear something scuffle through the living room. Adam's Obstagoon was walking in, his tongue sticking out.
"Little brother," Adam said, petting Obstagoon on the head, "Did you put the hay back in the stable?"
"Yeah," said Joe, looking at him, about to press the button on the TV, "Why?"
"Pa was asking about it…," Adam responded, "I went to check the stable and it was dry. I was just curious about it."
"Oh no… I got it…," said Joe, "Eric helped me too. It looked like there was a lot that needed to be done when both of us were away."
Eric was the middle brother of Adam and Joe Cartwright. He was traveling around to be a Pokémon Trainer, so he wasn't home as much to do things around the ranch. When Joe went to Pokémon Trainer Boarding School in Slateport City, it was just Adam and Pa doing things. Now that Joe has been back for a good two months, things are finally going smoothly. Adam, now hearing about what was going on, bent over as he reached for the white mini fridge. Pulling out two beers that have the Persian Black Beer logo on it, he placed one in Joe's hands as Adam went to speak. Adam turned to see that Joe had a long line down his neck, like he was hit by a weapon, "What happened to you in Hoenn?"
Joe gulped as he looked at Adam. Joe was very silent about the things that happened on his last trip. Joe was involved fighting with Team Aqua and Magma over the jewels of the Crown of Weather. The Crown of Weather was a crown that was used for Rayquaza to maintain balance and order in the Hoenn Region, but Maxie and Archie had other plans. He was lightly involved with helping the Hoenn Ranger stop Archie from doing something drastic. To explain that to Adam would be confusing. Actually, Adam would've thought he was acting insane if Joe were to tell him it all.
"I ran into a wild Scyther while I was heading home from Hoenn… I didn't get my Pokémon out in time," said Joe, knowing that he got it from facing multiple Team Aqua grunts in the Ever Grande Pokémon Center.
"Ah… that must've been deep," said Adam, "I thought you could've got severely injured by what Team Aqua was doing in Hoenn. I was worried sick about you, little bro."
"Well," said Joe, turning to Adam, sipping his beer, "What do you mean?"
"Well," said Adam, looking at Joe, "It was all over the news. The Hoenn Gym Leaders were fighting Team Aqua, the Elite Four, Pokémon Trainers… and even the Poké Rangers!"
"Poké Rangers?" asked Joe, "Who are they?"
"Oh come on, Joe. Five to like eight rangers on a team in spandex bright suits with weapons that can destroy a whole army of invaders to protect peace and harmony from Pokémon! You know this!" Adam stated.
Joe nodded as he sunk into his couch, "Ah, them… I met them once."
"You did?" asked Adam, "Who?"
"I met the Relic Hunter Rangers," said Joe, "They saved the university I was at when they were trying to find some ancient ship. They fought Team Dracos, who took over the school. Because the school was devastated as a community, that's why I withdrew and decided to do things my own way."
That was only part of the story. Joe was actually helping the Relic Hunters stop Team Dracos from taking over the school to find the Ship of Jirachi, which definitely helped pave the way for new opportunities in the future. Adam nodded slowly as he looked at him, "That must've been awesome!"
"Yeah, they had robots and stuff… good times," said Joe, turning around as he went to flip a channel.
As he turned on the SNN channel (Sinnoh News Network), he froze as the remote fell on the floor. He gulped, freezing as he saw the television screen. Adam and Obstagoon were also in shock. The TV showed Slateport City on fire… buildings were damaged. Zooming in, they noticed a few robotic Pokémon with flames and wires. Blue lightning bolts struck down as flames engulfed. Joe stood in shock as the screen changed to a reporter. She looked over as she had her earpiece and her microphone.
"Hey guys, this is Brianne Miller from SNN, coming to you live from Slateport City. We managed to get here just in time to watch the aftermath of what we thought could be 'The End of the Hoenn Region'. The Poké Rangers from Hoenn gathered to fight off something that was strong enough to destroy even their own robotic weaponry. Clues and mysteries are still to be found, but from what witnesses were told, it was more than just a monster battle, which they have experienced over the years. Witnesses said it started off as an air stream attack before a mega monster arrived, destroying everything. No one has seen the rangers, even if they have survived the mess. We'll keep you posted as we know more, over to you."
That stung Joe in the stomach very badly. He couldn't comprehend as he reached for his phone. Scrolling through, he looked into one of his group chats. He quickly tried to press the call button, face timing his fellow friends that were in Hoenn. It kept ringing and ringing… there was no response. Adam turned around as he looked at Joe, "How bad could it be?"
Joe sipped more of his beer and turned to Adam, "I don't know. It's making me feel sick. You can watch TV now."
"Oh no," said Adam, laughing, "I just needed to sit. I have to go back and work. Are you going to finish the log chopping?"
"Yeah," said Joe, feeling out of it, "I'll be fine."
Adam turned around as he looked at Joe. Obstagoon looked at him as Joe turned to Adam. Adam knew something was up, "Are you sure you are going to be fine?"
Joe turned around as he grinned, "I'll be okay."
Adam nodded as he climbed out of the couch, with Obstagoon following. He walked casually to the door, opening it as he and Obstagoon left. Joe carefully climbed up out of his seat with worry. He turned around as he saw the door open casually again, this time his Zebstrika walking in the living room.
"Dude, I told you that you can't come into the living room… Pa is going to have a fit if you are not at the stable," said Joe.
Zebstrika started nodding its head as it went closer to Joe. As Joe held him, Zebstrika starting talking as it looked teary-eyed.
"Are you sensing something?" asked Joe.
Zebstrika nodded. Joe looked up as he went to his right. He saw a flight of steps that walked into the bedrooms. Joe took a breather as he looked at Zebstrika. He reached for his Poké Ball, "I'm only having you go in here so I can NOT get in trouble. I'll release you in a few."
A red stream of light emerged out of the Poké Ball, enveloping Zebstrika, sucking him in the ball. Shrinking the Poké Ball, Joe walked up the stairs as he headed to his right. Opening the door, he turned on the lights to his room. His room was black with golden and red lights around the windows. He had a TV and game console as well as a wooden desk. He walked over to his desk, opening the brown drawer. Pulling it out, he saw a yellow pistol with black stripes on it that was shaped like a Tyrantrum's mouth. Next to it, was a black and silver gem. Placing the black and silver gem in his pocket, he placed the blaster on his belt connecting one of the loops to it. Joe was going to log chop, but then he was going to find his way back to Hoenn.
Meanwhile…
The sun was shining brightly in Sandgem Town. Sandgem Town was always so beautiful, especially now that they have a port to go to other regions on the south side of Sinnoh. As Wingull were flying around, a young woman was walking around, collecting samples of fossils for Professor Rowan. She was walking down the beach with a red backpack behind her. Her golden hair was illuminated by the sunlight and she had red tips at the end. Her blue sapphire eyes were glowing as she wore a puffy white short-sleeved red t-shirt with a white sleeveless top over it. She wore a knee-length khaki skirt with black bike shorts underneath. She was amazed at what she could find as she picked up one of the fossils, specifically, it was a Jaw Fossil.
"This is usually in Kalos! I am surprised this is here!" she said, "I can't wait to tell the professor."
Immediately, her phone began to ring. She looked over as she reached for it in her pocket. A red and black phone, with three different camera lenses that is compatible to the Pokétch. As she swiped right, she placed the phone on her ear.
"Hi, Mom… yes, I am in Sinnoh right now… Rowan is going to be excited about the Prehistoric Fossils. He wanted me to bring one back," she said. She began to hear more on the phone, "Yes, of course. I will be more than happy to tell him. I'll let you know when I return home. Love you."
Finishing the conversation, she hung up the phone as she started walking away. As her feet stepped into the grass, she managed to walk toward Professor Rowan's lab. She saw the brown gates that were open as the path went toward a mega-sized blue laboratory, that was connected to another building with brown bricks and structure, finally connected to a windmill, which was lavender with a blue roof. She was running, excited as she headed toward the entrance. Opening the door, she walked in, noticing the purple tiles on the floor. The lab had computer systems. The stairs went up and across as she looked to see a man doing research. He had a white shirt with blue dress pants and brown shoes. He had a blue vest with a black tie. His white hair and beard glistened in the sunlight.
"Ah, Leona! So glad to see you!" said Rowan.
"Professor! I found a unique discovery," Leona said, grinning as she reached for her backpack. Placing the backpack on the table, Leona walked over as she reached into her backpack, unzipping as she placed the Jaw Fossil on the table. Rowan looked at it, "What a unique discovery!"
"Discovery?" asked Leona.
"Well," said Rowan, "You know we are doing this research to learn more about the Fossil Gems."
"Fossil Gems?" asked Leona, shaking her head, confused.
Rowan grinned as he turned to look at her. Leona waited to hear Rowan clarify, "The Fossil Gems have been a project I've been studying since Team Galactic's presence to find Diagla and Palkia. When all ten Fossil Gems are together, they can control time and space. Fossil Gems were infused by Prehistoric Pokémon years ago."
Rowan went over to examine it. The Jaw Fossil had something silver protruding out of it as he went to take a look, "Like this…"
"You think that's a Fossil Gem?" asked Leona.
"Possibly," said Rowan, looking at it, "Well, why don't we find another fossil? You can hold on to it if you would like. I wonder if Lake Verity had one?"
Leona grinned as she looked at him, "Professor, I would love it!"
Grabbing the fossil, she placed it in her backpack. As she headed to the exit, Professor Rowan grinned as he saw her leave. Professor Rowan turned around as he went to his drawer. Opening the drawer, he pulled out a diagram, showing drawings of all ten Fossil Gems. He examined it, as he realized the piece of the diagram was ripped along the corners. The mystery to the diagram is unknown. It was given to him by Lucas after he faced Cynthia and after he and Dawn faced Cyrus in the Distortion World. Understanding that there could be more than just the Fossil Gems were an understatement.
Outside…
Leona was walking to Professor Rowan's garage, which was a red barn that had a dirt path, connecting to the main path out. As she walked over, she saw a number pad on the right. Pressing four buttons, the sound of the barn door started. The door lifted up from the base, heading inside. She noticed a red and black Jeep with Poké Balls. That was Rowan's pride and joy. Leona was only allowed to use it for excavations and research. Leona managed to open the door and place her belongings in the back seat. As her backpack hit the seat, a white flash of light emerged as Leona was blinded by the light…
Leona flashed before her very eyes as she looked around the area. She was no longer near Professor Rowan's garage, but she was in a different place. Pine trees surrounded every inch of the area as the sun was shining above. She looked around as she gulped, noticing something interesting. A few Tyrantrums were running rampant, fighting over food it looked like. Leona had no idea what was going on as she started to bolt for the exit. As she was heading deeper into the woods, she turned around as she noticed a golden palace. The palace had golden bricks that surrounded the area. She was amazed at what she saw as she walked closer. Turning around, she could see a few Archeops flying across with Bastiodon and Kabutops running together. In portions of the wetlands, there was a Carracosta running around with Omastar, watching their baby Pokémon play. Above, Aerodactyl flew across, screaming as it hovered across. Before her very eyes, she was in a playground with Prehistoric Pokémon. As she got closer, she turned around as she saw a golden door that was imprinted in the kingdom. Opening the door, she was amazed, seeing humans like herself. The question of when Prehistoric Pokémon being involved with humans is still unknown, but further research started to come up with those answers.
Walking around, hearing the ancient songs sung by the Prehistoric Pokémon, she could see a few people playing with Prehistoric Pokémon. People were playing ancient instruments, singing songs that Leona was unfamiliar. As she turned around, she was able to walk down the hill, to a silver tower. No one seemed to notice that she was there. It was almost like she was a ghost. Leona said nothing, walking as she headed to the palace door. As the wooden door opened, she walked around the palace. The ancient Pokémon were written in hieroglyphics along tapestry that wrapped around the halls. She was amazed at how much history there was. She could hear a baby cry as she walked around toward the throne room. She paused for a second as she turned around, seeing two people. A queen, wearing a red and white dress with a silver tiara stood there with her golden hair, similar to Leona's with red eyes. She was holding on to what looked like a baby. The other, was a man, wearing a white shirt with black pants and brown shoes with a red robe of royalty. He had a golden crown that had ten different gems.
"It's okay…," the mother said, "It's okay… you are just hungry."
"She will grow to be a fine princess and queen one day," said the king.
As both were looking at their beautiful daughter, the sound of barking appeared. The king turned around, seeing his Arcanine bark ruthlessly.
"What's going on?" he asked.
BOOM!
An Aerodactyl flew into the throne room. Debris from the castle fell into the throne room as the sounds of laser fire surrounded the area. Screams surrounded the area. Leona turned around as a slab appeared from above. Leona screamed as she covered her head. She looked up to see the slab go right through her and on the ground. Leona turned around as she felt she was in another war or horror movie. She noticed tons of humanoid Maractus, but they were all white instead of green. Instead of pink flowers, they were green and had red eyes that were shining. The Maractus also had green wavy hair down to their shoulders. Their left hands turned into blasters as they aimed at the king and queen.
"Who are you?" he asked.
Immediately, they heard someone laughing. The king turned around as he saw a beastly monster. He was a humanoid Ferrathorn with a Forretress armor. Green thorns wrapped all over his body from head to toe. He had a golden eye and a red eye. The golden eye began to flash as green data was forming around it. He had a mulit-nozzle cannon with seeds, rocket launchers and blasters.
"King Leon… I suppose?" he asked.
"What is the meaning of this?" asked Leon.
"As Captain of my crew, I was asked to destroy the Prehistoric Kingdom… and steal the Energy Gems in its place," he said.
Leon stood up as he took out an emerald-teal saber with golden edges on it. He stared at him as he stretched it out, "I will not give the Energy Gems to people like you… you are going to have to kill me for it."
"Fair enough… I am done with royalty crap to begin with. Mooks, destroy this place!"
The Mooks screamed as they started running toward Leon. Leon slashed each creature as he turned around, destroying the Mooks with his sword. Leon turned around, seeing the queen run toward the exit. Leona turned around as she followed around, stopping to look at Leon. She wasn't sure what was going on. As she headed into one of the chambers, she heard the sound of the babies cries as the explosions got tougher and rougher. She saw a wall of the castle explode as more Mooks were showing up. It looked like this bounty hunter had its hands full. She headed over to see a hall were there were stairs. As the stairs went up toward a spiral staircase, Leona headed up the stairs, running toward the top. Looking at the top, she stopped as she turned around. The queen wrapped the baby in swaddling clothes and gave the baby to a man, who wore a black cloak over his body. The queen also reached for a mahogany chest, giving it to him.
"Protect our baby and send her far from here. She's our only legacy to our kingdom!"
He nodded as he grabbed his silver staff that was located against the wall. As the queen left, the guardian began to swirl his staff around as the mahogany box opened. Ten gems began to fly out as they swirled around together. Blue bolts surrounded them as a golden portal opened. As he took the baby and left, Leona decided to follow. Stepping into the portal, the portal closed behind, causing the energy gems to disappear with it.
Within minutes, the door barged open as the Mooks marched in with the captain. He saw the mahogany box with the gems were gone. He turned around as he reached for a silver communication device.
"Shockhound, find the trace of that portal entry…"
Meanwhile…
Leona opened her eyes as she looked up. She turned around as the sun was bright on her face. Getting up, she turned around as she saw tall trees. The smell in the air was crisp, just like in the Sinnoh Region. Looking up, Leona turned around to notice the baby in the guardian's arms. However, Leona noticed that he was not alone.
The guardian lifted his hood to reveal with black hair with pepper grey spots on either side. He had golden eyes as he reached for his right hand. In his right hand, revealed ten different energy crystals in different colors. He also was surrounded by ten different Prehistoric Pokémon: Tyrantrum, Armaldo, Carracosta, Kabutops, Bastiodon, Aerodactyl, Omastar, Rampardos, Aurorus and Archeops.
"You guys would definitely be a fine fit for these…" he said.
Placing the baby on the ground carefully, he threw the energy crystals at each Pokémon, glowing as he looked at them.
"The Prehistoric Pokémon in our kingdom will be forever in your debt if you protect these from Ferro Fett."
Immediately, the winds began to pick up at a faster pace. He looked up as a green energy beam struck down, revealing Ferro Fett. He turned around as he went toward the guardian.
"Your kingdom is destroyed," he said, laughing, "And we traced your dimensional transport…"
He turned around, looking down as Ferro Fett laughed. He turned around as he looked at the baby being born.
"Sadly, though, no one from the Prehistoric Kingdom must be alive," he said.
As Ferro Fett went to shoot the guardian, a roar emerged from a Tyrantrum. Ferro Fett turned his aim, only for Tyrantrum to open its jaw and bit into his skin. Breaking through the armor, Ferro Fett cringed as Tyrantrum's tail swung across. A red aura surrounded Ferro Fett as blue shockwave occurred. Ferro Fett yelled as the shockwave threw him up into the stratosphere… a flash of light appeared in front of Leona…
Leona's eyes were awakened as she looked up. Noticing she was on the floor, she climbed up from the ground as she started heading toward the front seat. Climbing in the car, she turned the engine and started driving. She wasn't sure if that was a dream… or if it was real.
Meanwhile…
In outer space, a spaceship was en route to Earth. It was a black and silver ship with a mega hull and purple nacelles. There were green lights that appeared all over the structure. Inside the ship, there was a huge bridge for all the staff to work. One was driving the ship, seeing the beautiful blue planet. He was a humanoid Lanturn with black and silver-plated armor. He also has a gold-plated belt with tools. His weapon, which was an axe shaped like a magnet, was attached to his back. He even had a built-in flamethrower device.
"Ferro Fett… I don't know what happened, but we managed to arrive here," he said, "Weren't we here before?"
Suddenly, the door opened as Ferro Fett walked on the floor of the ship bridge. The bridge was dark green with blue and yellow lights. The screens were all black with blue and red screens. Mooks were fixing it as Ferro Fett banged his head against the door.
"It's the same planet all right," he said, looking at him, "That Pokémon sent me so high that when I managed to hit my ship it sent us into another dimensional rift. And we were told to use this sparingly."
"Well," he said, "I hope we can try again! If we can destroy kingdoms, we can destroy an uninhabited planet."
"Turnchou," said Ferro Fett, "At least you are so encouraging. What happened to Shockhound, my second in command?"
"Well…," said Turnchou, looking at him, "I think he may have been lost when we accidentally transported…"
"Well… we need to find him," said Ferro Fett, "And hopefully take those Energy Crystals back! We need them."
Suddenly, the door opened again as Ferro Fett turned around. Immediately, two new villains walk on the bridge floor. One warrior was a humanoid Alcremie with Vanilluxe armor on her upper body. She wore a white and red plaid skirt with black high heels. She is also armed with a cake blaster. The other villain was a humanoid Maractus with a brown vest. He also had a Cacturne head. He wore brown and black pants and armed with a submachine gun with three different modes: bullets, leech seeds and sleep powder.
"Ah, Ferro Fett, dear… Why did you do send our ship throughout time like that? You know you can only use it so many times. You got my dress all messy," she said.
"What was that, you moron?" he asked.
"Cremelia and Maracturne, CAN IT!" shouted Ferro Fett.
Cremelia and Maracturne jumped back as Ferro Fett turned around to Turnchou, "We were given orders to do whatever it means necessary to grab those Energy Crystals. Last time I remember, that moron must've threw them at those Prehistoric Pokémon. That Tyrantrum almost ate me… it wouldn't surprise me if they exist."
"Well," said Turnchou, looking at him, "I noticed they don't exist anymore!"
"THEY DON'T EXIST?"
Ferro Fett looked up as he dashed toward one of the screens. He analyzed them as he looked at it. He turned around, looking at Turnchou, "Turnchou, what year is this?"
"According to Earth, 2023," said Turnchou, "We have been sent to the future."
"The future?" asked Ferro Fett, looking at Turnchou, "Then, what does that mean with those Prehistoric Pokémon?"
"Possibly extinct?" asked Turnchou.
Ferro Fett cringed as he looked at him. Throwing him to the ground, he then heard a beeping noise. Looking at one of the consoles, Maracturne walked over as he looked at it. A red beeping noise was found. Looking at the screen, Maracturne saw five red dots and the Sinnoh Map.
"Hey… five of those energy gems have been detected," said Maracturne, "At those coordinates."
Ferro Fett grumbled as he stood up. He sighed as he looked at the crew. He turned around as he looked at Cremelia, "Cremelia, summon Commander Icewolf to the bridge. It is time I start finding those crystals."
Meanwhile…
Lisa Morgan was breathing in the sea air as she was standing on the balcony, looking at the beautiful scenery of Sandgem Town. The fact that she was heading to Sinnoh for the Jubilife Flower Festival, representing Celadon City was an honor, especially to represent Erika. Within ten minutes, the ship, which was white with blue and green lines on either side slowed to a stop as the anchor started to go down, docking the ship. She put on her pink and gold shades as she grabbed her pink backpack. Lisa's purplish-black hair was blowing in the wind as the sun illuminated her tan skin complexion. She wore green jogging pants with white and pink sneakers, while wearing a pink top that had short sleeves. She couldn't wait to get to Jubilife City.
Following the people on the ramp, she managed to place her feet on the wooden platform, which was surrounded by sand as she approached Sandgem Town. As Lisa walked toward the end of the boardwalk, there was a sidewalk that led to town. However, the sidewalk connected two different paths. There was a path for walking trainers and a road for taxis, Poké Ubers and just regular. Immediately, she reached for her phone. Picking up her pink phone, she went to press a few buttons, requesting an uber. As she was walking toward the sidewalk, she heard a horn to her right. Jolting, she noticed a black and red Jeep with Pokémon symbols almost running her over.
"Hey, you need to watch where you are going!"
"Sorry," said Lisa, "It's hard to find service in this part…"
"True," said Leona, looking at the area, "This part of Sinnoh always has wonky service. Believe me, I know. You need to be more careful!"
"Got it," said Lisa, looking at her. Before Leona could drive away, she took a deep breath as she turned to Lisa. Her gut feeling told her to bring her along, as much as she didn't want to, "Where are you headed, anyway?"
"Well, I got to be at the Jubilife Festival tomorrow. Is there a way we can go to Jubilife City?" asked Lisa, "I know its awkward to ask someone I just met to give me a ride, granted you did almost run me over."
Leona nodded as she pressed the unlock button, "I just have to do one thing first. Ever been to Lake Verity?"
"No… this is my first time in Sinnoh," she said, "My name is Lisa… Lisa Morgan. And you?"
"Leona… Leona Sinclair," said Leona, moving her head to let Lisa know she can go inside. Lisa grinned as she placed the pink backpack in the backseat. Leona grinned as she moved out of the road, heading toward the entrance to Route 201. Lisa was amazed as she saw nothing but woods as they were driving toward Lake Verity. The trees were blowing back and forth, with leaves of green. She couldn't believe it. Driving around the bend, they noticed a green sign that said: Twinleaf Town 10 miles, Lake Verity: 20 miles. It was going to be a long drive.
"So…," said Lisa, asking Leona as Leona was driving, "What do you do for a living?"
Leona grinned as she turned around, looking at the road, "I study fossils. I'm a Pokémon Paleontologist. I have been part of the Sinclair Foundation in Hoenn since I was little. My parents brought me up to love history and Pokémon."
"Really?" asked Lisa, grinning, "Do you have Pokémon of your own then?"
"Well, yeah…," said Leona, "Granted I didn't get a chance to speak to them today because I've been so busy finding fossils for Professor Rowan's project."
"Well," said Lisa, "Spend time with them. I use aromatherapy with my Pokémon. Grass types love it. Ask my Meganium."
Leona giggled, "Aromatherapy is fun! So, where are you from?"
"Kanto. I am studying aromatherapy because eventually I want to be a nurse. I want to help people and Pokémon in so many ways than just battling. I studied aromatherapy with Erika in Celadon City," said Lisa.
"The Celadon Gym Leader?" asked Leona in disbelief.
"She's my cousin," said Lisa, showing her a photo on her phone. Leona nodded in response as they were coming around the bend. Leona never expected to be making friends with a cousin of a famous gym leader. She was very excited to learn more of what's to come. Before she could do that, she turned to see another sign. They were already passed Twinleaf Town and within ten minutes, they were going into a thicket of trees. Driving through the trees, they were able to see a flock of Starly fly across from tree to tree. It was different than what Lisa saw back in Kanto.
Slowing down, Leona and Lisa pulled up to Lake Verity. The lake was calm and bright with a rock formation in the middle. The grass was beautiful along the road. The mountain range of Mt. Coronet could be seen from that point as Leona and Lisa managed to get out of the car. Walking around, Leona pulled out a silver scanner that makes beeping noises.
"What does that do?" asked Lisa.
"Simple," said Leona, "It's a fossil detector. It can detect long range fossils for miles, so it saves the time trying to search the whole area. Besides to search for one fossil could take a while. Using this expands the range to 10 miles, so if there's a reaction, we just follow the direction."
Lisa, shrugging, yet curious about Leona's job, made her want to know more as they were walking together. Walking for a mile, they hear a beeping noise coming from the scanner. The two of them followed the direction of the device. Walking toward the direction, the two trainers looked at each other as they saw a pink light. Immediately, a red flash of light surrounded Leona's backpack as Leona went to put her backpack down. Reaching for the Jaw Fossil, a red aura surrounded it.
"Interesting," said Lisa, "I never seen a fossil like that before."
"Nor have I," said Leona, looking at the fossil ahead, seeing a pink light, "If anything, its reacting to that over there."
Leona and Lisa continued walking toward the middle of the woods. As they approached the hill, where the trees were located, they stumbled to find an Armor Fossil. Lisa picked it up as she was looking at it. Unlike other fossils, there was something sticking out, like a crystal. It was glowing bright pink as she turned to Leona's who was glowing bright red.
"I wonder if they have a connection," said Leona.
Suddenly, a blast of ice struck the ground, causing an explosion. Leona and Lisa ducked as they landed on the ground. The two trainers looked up as they noticed a creature. He was a humanoid Beartic with Abomasnow claws. He also had a Suicune like head as he looked at them.
"Who the heck is that?" asked Lisa.
"I don't want to know," said Leona.
"My name is Commander Icewolf, one of the bounty hunters from Ferro Fett! Surrender the Energy Crystals," he demanded.
Lisa looked at him as he turned to Leona. Leona froze for a second. Everything started to hit her. The Jaw Fossil was giving a message of some kind when she was looking back at that dream. Looking at the Jaw Fossil, it all began to make sense. She turned around as she looked at him. Before Lisa made a decision, Leona stepped in, "I can't let you have these."
"What?" asked Lisa.
Leona turned around as she looked at her, "Trust me."
Icewolf turned around as he looked at her, "Well, then… I see we have no choice."
Lisa reached for her Poké Ball, "Meganium, I choose you!"
"Cinderace, let's go!" shouted Leona.
Throwing Poké Balls in the air, Cinderace and Meganium showed up to the battlefield. Roaring both Pokémon went to attack.
"Pyro Ball!" shouted Leona.
"Meganium, use Leaf Storm!" shouted Lisa.
Meganium released a gust of wind and a cluster of leaves, heading straight toward Icewolf. Cinderace threw a rock in the air and kicked it, turning the rock into a ball of fire. As the ball of fire enlarged, it was heading straight with the leaves. Icewolf released a blast of ice energy, freezing both attacks. Lisa and Leona stood there in shock as he dashed forward, slashing the attacks. He then turned around as he used his claw, striking Meganium and Cinderace to the ground. Standing in shock, Lisa and Leona turned around as they went to release another Poké Ball. Before they could do that, Icewolf released a blast of arctic energy, freezing the two of them. Icewolf laughed as he looked at both creatures. Cinderace looked up, struggling to get on his feet, going to head to Leona. Immediately, Icewolf laughed as he looked at them. Looking at Leona, he stretched for his claw, seeing the Fossil with the crystal. Going to strike, a red aura surrounded Leona as it went around her whole body. Icewolf stood in shock as she busted out of the ice, causing him to fall on the ground. A pink aura also surrounded Lisa as she began to break out of the ice sculpture. The energy crystals broke out as they connected to Lisa and Leona. A golden aura surrounded their waist as a yellow blaster, shaped like a Tyrantrum, appeared with black stripes.
"What is this?" asked Lisa, taking the pistol out.
"Good question," said Leona, looking at it.
Icewolf went to get up, confused as he looked at them, "What in the world? How did they?"
Leona turned around as she placed her next Poké Ball to her belt. She then removed the pistol as she aimed at Icewolf. Pulling the trigger, golden beams shot out as Icewolf was hit. Icewolf yelled as he was hit by the attack. Icewolf went to use another ice attack. As the attack was heading toward Meganium, Lisa withdrew her blaster, aiming for the white line of ice energy, and pulled the trigger. The blast hit as the ice attack exploded. Turning around, Lisa pulled the trigger as Icewolf was hit. Icewolf yelled as he fell to his knees. Lisa and Leona stood as they went to aim at him.
"Well… is that all you got?"
Suddenly, the earth started shaking. Turning around, the Starly started to flap away. Icewolf grumbled as he looked up. Turning around, he saw a mega-sized robotic red Tyrantrum screaming at him. Opening his jaw, flames emerged as Icewolf was screaming, running around in flames. Disappearing, Tyrantrum turned around and looked at Leona. Leona looked up as she turned to Tyrantrum. Tyrantrum bent its head down, looking at Leona.
"Whoa," said Leona, "What in the world?"
Lisa turned around as she looked at this. She then turned around, surprised as a pink armored metallic Bastiodon appeared. Bastiodon landed on its all fours, looking at Lisa.
"Robotic sized Pokémon… and they like us?" asked Lisa.
"I am confused as much as you are," said Leona, looking at Tyrantrum. Tyrantrum roared as it turned to Bastiodon. Bastiodon nodded as the two of them started heading away from them. Lisa and Leona turned to each other as they looked at their injured Pokémon. Leona sighed as she turned to her, "We should probably go to the Pokémon Center… when is your festival?"
"Tomorrow," said Lisa.
"Looks like we will be going to meet Professor Rowan first. There are some answers I need," said Leona.
She turned around, looking at her red energy crystal.
Meanwhile…
Joe was already in Sandgem Town. Concealing his weapon to not scare the public, he grabbed his black backpack and started to head straight toward the boardwalk, looking at the long line of people that were standing at the ticket counter. It was a good hour and a half. Joe continued to follow the line as he was reaching the ticket booth. The booth was bright blue and it had a golden ship on top to show it was a ferry to go to other regions. As Joe got to the front, he noticed a sign.
"Due to the extensive damage at Slateport and Lilycove Pier, all transports to Hoenn are cancelled until further notice."
"Are you kidding me?" he asked, sighing as he turned around. As he turned around, he bumped into someone. Smacking full contact, he looked up to notice a buff, muscular guy in front of him. Joe gulped as he turned around, "Sorry."
"No worries… I can't get to Hoenn myself. I understand your problem," he said, looking at him.
He was dark skinned with black hair that was spiked and had brown eyes. He had a bodybuilder cut. He wore a black T-shirt with a blue vest over it and dark blue pants with black shoes. Turquoise highlights were on his shoes.
"Well," said Joe, looking at him, "If you want, I'm heading back to my ranch. My pa and two brothers run it. It's outside of Solaceon Town. Joe Cartwright."
"Pleasure to meet you," he said, "My name is Atticus. Atticus Coho."
"Wait… aren't you the Unova League Champion?" asked Joe.
"Yes," said Atticus, looking at him, "I was on my way to Hoenn to start a new journey. But, with the damage that happened over there, looks like we can't go. Guess I am going to have to go to Johto or Kanto… maybe Kalos?"
Joe sighed, "At least you have options."
"Yeah," said Atticus, seeing Joe a little upset, "You seem a little down. Why are you going to Hoenn?"
Joe turned around as he looked at Atticus. Joe shook his head as he grinned, "Vacation. Granted I was just there recently. You?"
Atticus crossed his arms as he looked at him. He was very observant as he glanced at Joe, "For someone going on vacation, do you have to pack a pistol?"
Joe looked at him in confusion. He looked down to notice a piece of his blaster appeared underneath. Joe gulped as he looked at the blaster and then turned to Atticus, "… Uh…"
Suddenly, a black aura appeared out of Joe's pocket. Joe reached into his pants packet. Picking up the black energy crystal, it began to react brightly. Atticus turned around as he looked at his pocket, revealing a blue energy crystal. Joe turned around as he looked at Atticus, "You too?"
"Yeah?" asked Atticus.
"That means you probably have the gun that came with it," said Joe.
Atticus nodded slowly, "I left it in there. Didn't know why I got it, but I had a feeling. Also, when you see a robotic Carracosta save you…"
"Carracosta?" asked Joe, "Mine was an Armaldo… but I thought it was a dream."
Atticus analyzed both crystals. Things weren't making sense. Both of them saw robotic Pokémon, but in the Sinnoh Region, things weren't as like they were in the Hoenn Region. Things weren't adding up. Immediately, Atticus turned around as he looked at Joe. Atticus sighed, "Why don't we go see Professor Rowan?"
"I highly doubt he knows about Pokémon Paleontology," said Joe.
"It's better than stumbling, wondering why we both have pistols and crystals," said Atticus.
Joe, admitting he was right, walked with him as he headed toward the lab.
Meanwhile…
In the woods off of Route 202, just shy of the Pokémon lab and Sandgem Town's borders, a Pokémon Trainer cut down four slices of trees with his sword. He turned around as his Pokémon were fighting as well, training and doing their best. The trainer had reddish-brownish hair with blue eyes. He wore a white t-shirt with blue jeans and a green vest over it. He had a pair of sneakers as well. He also carried a sword. He was just like his Pokémon, disciplined and ready to fight anything. That's what he learned when he was brought up in Johto.
"Typhlosion, Feraligatr and Meganium, that's enough," he said.
The trainer looked at them as the three Pokémon turned around. He turned to see his Sneasel, who was finishing up with his claws. Striking the rock, Sneasel made an incorrect move, falling down the hill. The trainer turned around as he looked at Sneasel, tumbling. Quickly, the trainer ran down the hill with his three starters coming from behind. Landing on the ground, Sneasel looked up, seeing stars.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Sneas…el," Sneasel said, dusting the dirt off. He turned around as he noticed a fossil. Looking at it, he picked it up. It was a Dome Fossil with an energy crystal sticking out of it. Surprised, he turned around as he saw something. He was being watched. Turning around, he looked over as he saw a statue of some kind. As he went to get closer, a yellow energy bolt struck from the sky, hitting the statue. The statue exploded as the trainer landed on the ground. The Dome Fossil fell to the ground. Looking up, he noticed a humanoid Boltund with Luxray armor. He also had a Manectric head. He is armed with a saber, shaped like a yellow thunderbolt and had a blaster that was black with electrical energy. His eyes were bright gold as he turned to him.
"Haha, they found me!"
He turned around as he looked at the trainer.
"Ah… so, this is the future," he said.
Meganium, Sneasel, Typhlosion and Feraligatr turned to him. In addition, Ampharos and Flygon also arrived to fight. He looked at him as the trainer picked up the Dome Fossil. He looked at him as he walked over.
"That's what we need! Hand over the Energy Crystal," he said.
The trainer turned around, looking at him. He placed it in his pocket as he withdrew his sword, "And what if I refuse?"
"You will just be like the humans I destroyed years ago…" he said, "My name is First Commander Shockhound, Second-In Command of Ferro Fett the Bounty Hunter. My orders are to destroy the planet and steal the Energy Crystals."
