Honestly I have no real reason as to why I separated these two parts. I just did, I guess. I hope this second chapter is enjoyable? Have a fantastic day!

"You few chosen are the first campers to experience camp cretaceous." The wide eyed man said with wide open arms. He drew them together in a sharp clap. "Right! I know the ride from the mainland was a rough one…" He looked to be in late twenties or early 30s, Darius thought. Suddenly the boy with the sandy blonde hair rapidly pushed past the man who had been speaking. The older man shifted past with wide eyes that then fell deadpan a moment later. It was as if he expected it or he was disappointed his grand speech had been interrupted. "Hello, Ben" But his call was short lived when the boy leaned up against the railing with a sharp heave. Darius quickly looked away.

"Eww…" A pink-haired girl commented, drawing her phone down.

Dave turned back to the other campers expectantly. "Buttttt– You did make it!" He smiled a toothy grin. "I'm Dave, head counselor." Darius looked him up and down with excitement and confusion. He was fun, sure… but the lead counselor? "You heard that right- head honcho, mr. big shot…" He pointed his thumbs at himself basking in the glory of the title… when a red and tan jeeps tires screeched. A brown haired lady exited the jeep and joined them. She must have heard what he had been gloating about.

"Sorry I'm late." She placed her hand on her hip. She looked Dave up and down. "Welcome, Campers! I'm head counselor of Camp Cretacous." She hissed.

Dave turned bright red and stuttered to correct himself. He wrapped his hand around his neck and gave a silly little chuckle. "Well, it's sort of a co-head counselor sort of situation…" He squeaked.

"Is it now?"

Dave quickly straightened up. Darius gave him a brief sympathetic nod.

"Anyway," Roxie began. "Some of you won contests to be here, some of you had VIP invites, but for the next two weeks, all of you will be getting the five-star treatment!" Rixie grinned. "As our first campers, we've lined up exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of Jurassic World."

Suddenly a girl to Darius right jumped up in excitement. She looked to be older than he was. She had short black hair and a black jacket. "OOOH!" Just by the brief sound she made Darius could tell she had a southern drawl. Darius looked around. It was nice getting the explanation an all but Darius wanted to get a move on and see dinosaurs. He had been waiting for this moment for as long as he could remember…

"As well as kayaking, rock climbing, obstacle courses, and of course…"

"Dinosaurs!" He blurted out without thinking. Hope flickered in his quivering voice. He instantly felt stupid for saying it…

"Yes… Darius, plenty of Dinosaurs." Dave concluded by looking the kids over. "SOOOO! Ready for an adventure of a lifetime!"

"Absolutely positively forsure!" The cow girl giggled. At least her excitement mirrored his own and drew the others to look at her. He wiggled his feet and let his head down. Before anyone could say anything in response the younger pink haired girl went barging past them. She waved her phone around.

" I'm gonna need that speech a little shorter, and really try to lean into the majesty of this place." She stated absently. "Like, a lot shorter… I mean cool speech but um… it needs to be workshopped."

Dave looked surprised by this and turned to Roxie in a low whisper he stated. "I thought my speech was good…"

Roxie gave a sigh shaking her head. "Dave she's not wrong… I told you the speech would be stupid- Welp! Let's get the six of you to camp!"

Ben looked up from the railing. His face was pale. "There's only five of us." He quickly leaned back over the railing like he might start heaving again. Darius shuddered.

"Huh-" Dave started moving around the kids. "Wait… Dino-kid, Tack-Star, Internet girl, Barfy, Texas…" All the campers glanced at one another, surprised by Daves counting skills and internal antics over the group. I just know stuff. He thought to himself bitterly. "He's right. Where's six?"

As if on cue a helicopter came spirling from the sky to a nearby building with a landing pad. The air around them began swishing violently. Dave nearly lost his hat. The campers all ducked waiting for the blades to fall still. A moment or so later a young man with black hair strutted up to the group with a bad or two dragging behind him.

"Greetings, my dudes. Kenji is here, so let the party commence!" Kenji leaned on Roxie's shoulder who rapidly brushed him away. He turned to Dave and threw his bags at Dave. "Put this in my room." He turned and began walking away. Darius scoffed. Hesitantly the other campers followed a stumbling Dave and an annoyed Roxie to the jeep. The kid he had referred to as track star trotted up to Dave and snatched one of the bags.

"Hey genius!" She snapped. "Catch." She threw the bag knocking over the snarky sunglass wearing kid. He stumbled back with a grunt. The girl turned back to help Dave ignoring Kenji who gave a muttering cluster of curse words. Darius felt suddenly intimidated by the girl. She had a hard expression and an easy disliking towards Kenji. She looked well trained, strong, and she had pretty dark almond hair tied up in a ponytail. The shorter pink-haired girl followed along with Ben. This group seems… FUN… Darius thought.

"What's your deal-" Kenji caught up to Darius and nudged him.

"Erm…" Darius hadn't really expected to get stuck with him. Or that he would have to stutter up an explanation.

Roxie stopped the two. "Hurry up! Let's go!" The track-star lept the side of the Jeep while the other girls filed into the back.

You'll get to see the dinosaurs soon Darius… just be patient….

With wide eyes Darius kept popping his head up looking around like a prairie dog. He took everything in. The different plants, the smells, the shapes in the distance. The first half of the ride. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking in a deep breath to only be disturbed a moment later.

"What good brooklanders!" The girl with the pink hair shouted as she swung her phone around like she were taking a selfie. "Brooklynn coming at you from the best place ever: Camp Cretaceous. Please like and subscribe to join me as I unbox Jurassic World!" She dropped the phone down and turned to him. He was taken back for a moment. "I need all of you to say who you are and a little bit about yourself and how you got here! Annnnnnd, action!"

Darius stumbled as his train of thought tried to make sense of himself. He had been so busy thinking of dinosaurs it took a moment for his brain to shift gears. "Um... I beat this awesome VR dinosaur game. I'm Darius, by the–" He was quickly cut off.

The Texan took the spotlight. He was partly relieved. "I'm so sorry- but! I just can't believe it! You're Brooklyn!" She waved her arms around gesturing to the pinkett and the phone in her hand." Oh! By the way I'm Sammy Gutierrez, total Brooklander! Kapow" She pointed a finger gun at the camera giving a swift wink. "Also, my family supplies all the beef for the park, and that's how I got here."

Brooklyn looked at Darius with a bewildered expression but she seemed to figure out how to handle it on her own. "Great to meet you, Sammy."

"Sorry… but uh, um? What's a… Brook-Lander?" Ben asked. The color had returned to his face and he seemed to be doing better now.

Brooklyn looked down at her screen and began scrolling. "That's just what my online followers call themselves."

"Uh, all 27 million of us. Kapow! Kapow!"

The athlete of the group simply rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that's why she's the only one who gets to keep her cell phone. She's famous." She growled.

"Back up!" Kenji blurted, grabbing the phone from Brooklyn's hand with a chuckle.

"Hey!" She tried to grab it back but the taller boy. He had something else in mind.

"Hold on. Rich and famous? Oh, meant to be." He quickly snapped a picture of himself next to her. Tossing the phone back into her lap. She fumbled with it for a moment glaring at him. Suddenly the whole vehicle lurch forward coming to a jarring stop. Ben yelped in surprise while Kenji smacked into the glass pane. Darius turned his head quick enough to see Dave jump out of the Jeep.

"Dave, what's going on?" Darius took note of the cattle prod he clutched. He looked like a gladiator preparing for a fight.

"Nothing you need to worry about." Electricity crackled between the two prongs. His fun composure returned. "But you should all definitely stay in your seats."

"Oh god…"Ben whimpered, hiding behind Kenji. Dave disappeared to the front of the jeep. The children waited in silence. The bush's on his left rattled together. A bright green and yellow tail flashed in between the branches.

"Guys…" Darius whispered. He was both afraid and drawn towards the sound. It had been a small dinosaur. Hope flickered in his chest. The small dinosaur dove from the bushes lunging into the back of the Jeep with them. Its teeth flashed a brilliant white as it gave out an ear shattering scratch landing on Keji's chest.

"Gah!" He yelped and threw the dinosaur away. It landed outside of the Jeep on the cool earth. Kicking to get back up right. Roxie quickly jumped forward with a blanket capturing the miniature menace. Dave moved forward helping her put the small scavenger into a cat carrier.

"Crisis averted. These things are always getting out of their enclosure." Roxie shook her head. Darius peered closely at the cage. The dinosaur was around the size of a full grown cat with little serrated teeth. It had a long tail with thin yellow stripes and tiny little fingers and a neck like a giraffes. The dino nerd gasped in awe.

"A real live Compsognathus!" Darius yelped trying to get a better look at the beast.

"Oh, please. It took a blanket and a cat carrier to catch it." Kenji added snarky.

Darius simply rolled his eyes as Roxie drew the cage away. Of course the rich kid wouldn't have any sense of understanding the dinosaur. It was a small carnivorous dinosaur that often scavenged like a vulture. "Scared you pretty good." He remarked.

The girls began to laugh. Kenji folded his arms up in defeat mimicking under his breath like a toddler. Roxie and Dave both disappeared while the rest of them prepared for the rest of the ride. He shook his head. Brooklyn drew out her phone again to record. Absently Darius watched the scenery unfold around him.

The truck lurched to a stand still. Dirt and gravel crunching under the tires. Darius quickly sat up looking up to the sky. Leaping from one tree to another in an elaborate tangle were several tree house homes. He nearly gasped. When he used to scroll youtube he had come across videos about ultimate tree houses. The kind of treehouse the person a part of the video lived in. This tree house topped those by a long shot. His mind was ripped away from the sight.

"Whoa! Whoa! Wow. Whoa! Whoa! Welcome to Camp Cretaceous." Brooklyn bellowed near his ear. Darius winced, avoiding her arm that waved her cell phone around. Sammy up she grabbed hold of Brooklyn's arm. The pinkett tried to shrug her off at first but finally took in the sight.

"Oh, my gosh!" Sammy finally said.

Brooklyn agreed. "Whoo!" Darius couldn't help but chuckle at their enthusiasm.

Darius chuckled."Yeah!" The engine shuttered to a stop. Brooklyn was the first to bail from the backside of the truck. She still had her phone on, and when she got out she kept her monologue going.

"Hey, Brooklanders, check this place out! Is this not the most amazing place you have ever seen?" She exclaimed. Kenji darted into frame, slicking back his hair.

"If you think this is cool, you should see my dad's penthouse in the main park!" Darius rolled his eyes. Of course he would take it upon himself to ruin the moment by gloating. Brooklyn brushed him aside trotting off to the athlete of the group.

"Yasmina! Hey, girl." She called. Darius recoiled. Yasmina had her headphones on, which he knew was the universal sign 'Leave me alone' "So, as an elite athlete, how pumped are you for camp?"

"Not a huge fan of being on camera. Or people." She grumbled, forcing the camera away. As soon as she could she dashed away from the pinkete. Brooklyn rolled her eyes.

"Hey, This place is almost as big as my family's ranch back home." Sammy stated, turning to Roxie and Dave.

Roxie nodded. "That's because when we're up and running, the camp will house 500 kids and 150 staff." Sammy's eyes widened.

Suddenly Dave came forward. Darius watched a silly encounter playout among the counselors. "Listen up! Announcement time from your co-head counselors."

Roxie leaned over. "Psst, still not a thing."

He ignored her comment. "Okay, everyone, there's some ground rules to cover. Curfew's at 8:00 p.m." He stopped and stared at Kenji with an all knowing look. "and lights out at 9:00 p.m. sharp."

"What? Lame." Kenji grumbled.

"This is for your safety. We are in a dinosaur-filled jungle. You must always keep your distance, or you could be seriously hurt, if not worse." Roxie overtook.

Ben squeaked. "Define "worse."

Dave quickly grinned. "Cabins are up that-a-way." Kenji grinned turning away. Quickly he began to dash.

"First one there gets top bunk!" Darius watched them go. He wanted to have see the compy one last time. He quickly turned to Dave and Roxie. (

Roxie leaned close to the driver side window. "Get this lovely lady back to her pen. Her family's probably worried sick." Dave revved the engine.

"W-Wait!" He holard. "Oh, man, I really wanted to get a closer look at that Compy." He expressed sadly.

Roxie sympathized with the boy. She understood why he was so eager to head out and see all the wonders of Jurassic World, but he would have to wait. "I like your enthusiasm, Darius, but right now it's "claiming a bunk" time. So, you know... go claim a bunk."

He leaped into her path as she tried to leave. "But it's the first dinosaur I've ever seen in person and, I mean, we're here to see dinosaurs, so... " He needed this. He had to see the dinosaur. Suddenly the ground beneath him groaned and rumbled. "Oh, the day is not over, buddy." Roxie grabbed him, turning him around so he could see out into the horizon.

"Wow!" He breathed. A brachiosaurus bellowed up above. It had a silver tone and a sturdy formation. He sat down on the ground watching in awe.
