FIFTEEN - DECEMBER

"Rose pleaseee take the kids out for a few hours" Jack almost begged
"Jack, it's freezing, I'm not taking them out there without a damn good reason! What are you up to?!" She said firmly "just take them to the grocery store or something? Out for lunch?" "Fine" she sighed "we need a few bits from the shop so I'll take them with me, then if they're not too cold I will take them for lunch, but we're not staying out for hours, they'll catch their death for goodness sake" "thank you" he smiled at her, trying to charm her. She just rolled her eyes, grabbing hers & Teddy's coat from the cupboard along with Eliza's snow suit and walked in to the living room where Teddy was colouring next to Eliza, who was in her rocker, trying her best to keep her head up "come on Ted, your Father wants us out the house" she held his coat up "why?" Teddy looked up confused as he walked over to Rose "your guess is as good as mine" she said as she bent down and put his coat on then helped him put his gloves and scarf on, kissing his forehead before she stood up and lifted Eliza up and put her in her snow suit and tiny mittens. "Say bye to Daddy" "bye Daddy" Teddy waved "bye" he kissed all 3 of their heads and Rose left with the children.
"Mummy?" Teddy looked up at Rose. "Yes darling?" She asked as he kept up with her "why have we come out? It's really cold" he shivered "I know… I'm not sure why your Dad wanted us out the house! … hey, should we go and get some hot chocolate to warm you up?" Teddy nodded and they headed in to the cafe close by "better?" Rose asked as he drank. Teddy nodded "thank you mummy" "you're welcome" she smiled "can Liza have some?" "Not yet darling, she'll still a bit too little" "Oh… OK" he sighed "we need a few bits from the grocery store. When we've finished here, why don't we head there? You've been such a good boy that I think you deserve a brand new toy!" She smiled at him & he grinned, his eyes lighting up "yay! Can Liza get one too?" Teddy really did love his sister, more than anything. If he got something, he always made sure she did too. Rose laughed "of course she can, you can help her choose" she smiled.
Around 10 minutes later, Teddy had finished, whipped cream on his nose "I'm finished mummy" he looked at her. Rose laughed and grabbed a napkin and wiped it from his nose "let's go" she held his hand out and he took it. Once they made it to the grocery store, they grabbed what they needed before heading to the toy isle. "What would you like?" "Erm…" he looked at all the shelves of toys, clearly a little overwhelmed "please can I have that?" He pointed at the colouring set "of course you can" she lifted it off the shelf "what do you think Eliza would like?" "That!" He pointed at a teddy bear "it's like mine! Maybe she will stop trying to steal mine if we get her it!" Rose laughed and picked up the bear "OK… let's go and pay" they checked out and Rose checked her watch. They'd been out the house 2 hours now, she was taking the children home whether Jack was ready or not.
