First Rehearsal
Over at the Cabot residence that same evening at dinner, Alexander's mom and dad looked over at him.
"Why are you so excited?" Lydia asked Alexander.
"I'm playing Snow White's prince in our school's production of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs!" Alexander exclaimed.
Wallace and Lydia looked at each other.
"What wonderful news!" Wallace exclaimed.
"You will be a star someday!" Lydia agreed.
"Do you want to know who's playing Snow White?" Alexander asked his mother and father.
"Who?" Walliace and Lydia asked Alexander.
"Valerie Brown." Alexander answered his parents.
"Valerie Brown? Oh yes! The star mathlete in your school! I remember her now!" Wallace exclaimed.
"That's right, Dad," Alexander answered. "remember, it was her father who removed my tonsils and adenoids last year."
"That's right," Wallace said. "I had completely forgotten about that!"
That evening when he went to bed, Alexander was unable to fall asleep, he wasn not tired at all.
The next afternoon, it was time for the first rehearsal of the play.
Valerie had stayed up all night working on extra math while Alexander plainly was having trouble falling asleep the previous night.
"Okay, everyone," Missis Miller said. "today is our first rehearsal, let's do our best."
Neither Valerie nor Alexander could stay awake.
Josie and Alan observed Valerie and Alexander had passed out then and there.
"Alex!" Missis Andrews exclaimed.
"Valerie!" Missis Miller exclaimed.
"No!" Josie and Alan called out, running to the location where Valerie and Alexander had fallen.
