My Champion~
(Two-Shot)
The next morning she woke up, he was in hurry and she had quickly made meals for them before they both rushed to the car. He'd dropped her to her work place, which was a small college and she taught for few hours before going to gym on her way back to home or maybe head to his personal training room in his quarters and practice blading. Only she had permission to use his private room except him.
When she'd returned back, she was completely beat. She dialled him, but he wasn't just picking up. She just hoped that Kai was still in hospital and didn't got discharged yet. Sulking for few minutes, she shook her head and headed to kitchen and started cooking.
He'd returned early that night, earlier than he usually does. She was peacefully bathing inside the tub when she heard him screaming her name, rather angrily. She could hear some sound of vase shattering and she flinched….
' Did he found out…'
He rapped the bathroom door, almost ready to break it. She quickly completed her bath and wore her night robe quickly and carefully stepped out of the bathroom.
He was sitting on the edge of the bed, tapping his feet restlessly with a furious and dangerous look on his face.
"Hey," her voice came smooth.
He glared at her in disbelief for few seconds. Growling, he stood up and stomped towards her and held her hand, rather say crushed her wrist in his hold.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" He snarled,
"What are you talking about!" She shook his hand away,
"You exactly know what I'm talking of Hils! It's Kai!" He was loosing his temper very badly now.
"Oh so that bastard finally spoke to you…" Hilary said calmly, her fears and anxiety vanishing off gradually.
"Language!" He scowled, "Are you in your senses? What's wrong with you, seriously! You could go to jail do you realize that?"
"I'm really not scared of that," she shot back, pushing him back, "What did he tell you anyway?"
Tyson was nonplussed. He felt he was dreaming. How could Hilary! His wife! The loyal and kind friend he and everyone knew since ages could do this!
"I can't believe you…" he said shaking his head,
"You couldn't believe either of what he was going to do!" She said lucidly and calmly.
"What…" he felt a shiver run down his spine at her tone.
"Can't you see…" She stared deeply into him, hoping he would understand her, "He's so jealous of you. He doesn't like you,"
"How can you say that!" He almost wanted to scream, "He's my friend!"
"Thank me Tyson, I didn't kill him. I spared his life. Because I knew you'd be so upset and I didn't want to see you like that." She said in derision.
"That does it!" He yelled at her and almost slapped her. She gasped, a tear escaping her ruby orb.
Her cheek was barely sore, but her head was tilted down on one side and she was trying her best not to break down in fits of uncontrollable sobs.
He himself was shocked at his action. He never has raised his hand against her and never even wanted to, but this was…
"Oh, I get it. He is more precious to you than I'm. I get it." She said sorely and wiped off a tear.
"It's not like that," He sighed, a convulsing sigh of regret escaping his throat,
"It's my fault actually. I'd have let him free that black dranzer and destroy you." She said mundanely,
"Black Dranzer?" His eyes widened,
She rubbed her cheek and smiled at him, "Two weeks back I'd been at your old gym, working out. Kai was there too, practicing. I saw him and smiled. Guessed that he must have asked you for using this place."
Tyson was holding a bated breath. She sat on a chair nearby of her table and said in a dull and bleak tone,
"He thought I was not concentrating as I ran on treadmill with my headphones on. Few minutes later, I heard some strange voices from downstairs. I slowly went down to the cellar where Boris's son was handing some Beyblade to him. Kai was totally lost. He looked like an insane freak there," she frowned tensed, as she recalled,
"He was screaming how he'd be able to defeat you this time with Black dranzer and ruin both of us alone in tag team battle.. . I tried to stop him, I tried to explain him that what he was doing was so wrong and tried to bring him back to senses but he didn't listen. Boris's son ran away when Kai unleashed the blade. The walls were cracking. I tried to physically stop him, but he had rather attacked me…"
She looked into his eyes and he was astonished at her words, hoping that this wasn't true. His best friend couldn't do this…
He walked to her and squatted before her, holding her hands, listening inquisitively and yet in utter bewilderment.
"He strangled me. I fought for breath, I almost died there. But when I managed to push him off, I launched my blade and after so much off fighting off and getting myself bleed…cry out desperately, I somehow summoned every strength inside me and defeated him." Her eyes were glassy, tears clinking against each other, making him cinch of the depth of her passionate care she had for him. He felt guilty,
"When I fought him, I got my strength by remembering you, by thinking of us…. I couldn't… I couldn't just imagine him defeating you."
He looked away, "I'm sorry." He whispered,
"Thanks for believing me." She got up, yanking her hands off from his hold.
"Hilary, I'm sorry. I should have asked you first," he caught her wrist but she didn't turn to see him,
"You don't trust me. For you, he's important, not me. I get it." She whispered dejectedly,
"No…"
"Yeah, this mark," she pressed a finger against her neck, "Is not your hickey, it's his nail mark when he strangled me."
Tyson gasped angrily and pulled her swiftly such that she faced him. He caressed the spot on her neck, eyes lowered in gutted feeling, addled of why he trusted Kai more than Hilary.
"You're a champion. My champion. Not just a beyblade champion, you're the best friend, best boyfriend, best husband, best person for me in this entire universe. I can't… I can't stand the fact of anyone defeating you, I'm scared." Her voice was tremulous and yet brazen.
"I didn't even notice you were so hurt physically. No I'm not a best husband-"
She placed a finger against his lips, and their eyes locked against each other, "I really could have killed him…because you've no idea of all the shit he was barking about you. And I fucking couldn't stand it."
His lips parted when her finger slipped off, "I'd tied him to the chair and whipped him till he was half dead. . . I'd taken his blade and gave it to Mr. D, lying to him that I found it somewhere on street."
"I'm sorry I doubted you. I'm sorry I-" he caressed her cheek where he'd just slapped her, almost.
"You just proved how much YOU love me though, by your slap." She smiled indignantly. He could tell her heart was ripped and probably she'd never trust him again or love the same.
"I'm sorry!" He pleaded, "Please…"
She refused to forgive him in her petulant state and shook her head.
"I know you're possessive about me Hil, and it's probably not even so wrong but you really didn't had to risk yourself for me, or my title." He said worriedly, "Even if it's Black dranzer, I could defeat him and rather teach him a lesson! Because I've you."
She pondered on his words. Maybe she overdid it. Maybe Tyson could have handled Kai better and taught a lesson. But that black beast was so darn powerful, what if they couldn't manage to defeat him this time like how they did years back? What if Kai created havoc around?
The guy was older than him, more mature, but still there was so much potential in him to be deviated from sanity and get freaking wicked at times, oh. The lust of power was crazy and devil.
"I didn't do anything wrong," she hissed, feeling agitated at his words.
"Imagine if he died, you wouldn't have been here, with me. The cops would have taken you. And…" he sighed breathlessness, "I really don't want to imagine living without you."
"I'm not powerful anyway to manage to literally make him die, hmph." She scoffed,
"Who knows?" He smiled sadly, "He is wrong, I agree but your crazy sense of possessiveness for me shouldn't endanger any of our lives. Anything could have happened, he could have harmed you more or worse, you could have lost the beybattle, or you might have more seriously injured him." He explained
"I understand," she timidly whispered, feeling so gutted, hurt, indignant all over again. The mix of all making her feel nauseous.
She silently cried, suppressing her sobs, holding his shirt's collar and crumbling it with her trembling, "You shouldn't have bet me but… I bled for you, I fought for you, I did so much for you-"
"Alright alright, you can beat me too, I really wouldn't say anything." He tried,
She shook her head in nostalgia, "That doesn't make up!"
"Please don't be sad, I'm feeling extremely bad believe me," he cupped both her cheeks, wiping her tears,
She hugged him, burying her head against his chest. He swore, as she convulsed against him, that he would never hurt her again and give her definitely more preference and love…
'I can't believe you're doing this on my back Kai…I would have forgiven you maybe if it didn't involve my wife, but somehow she's involved and, you didn't do this right by hurting her. I hope you admit soon that you were wrong and realize that. Hope you'll be a better friend and person.'
"Kai was trapping me, he promised though he'll not give his words to cops about you. Even if he did, I'll save you this time, I swear."
If she could go to depths to save him and love so hard than he'd imagined, then he would save her too even if she was wrong. . .
A/N: Hey everyone how are you! I hope this chapter finally made all sense and the twist wasn't that bad. Did anyone guessed of what could have been prior? Haha I guess not.
Anyway, thanks so much for reading and reviewing previously and I hope you liked this chapter as well and Kai's fans won't kill me for the role he played. But given how I told he has been loosing to Tyson and how he turned evil in season 1 and ditched teams so many times, I hope his role wasn't too unjustified here.
And please dont shower too much hate for Kai in reviews.
