Mina sat looking at Izuku; she felt safer knowing he was right there. The USJ had left a mark on all of them, bringing all that had fought together closer; Mina had fought alone, she had fought till her body had given out, and before the worst had happened, she had been saved.
He had saved her at the Entrance Exam and the USJ; he was handsome, good-looking, intelligent, and an excellent person to be around. His presence in the room was nice and vibrant, giving off this sense of life. She couldn't explain it; her fantasies could; they did to her, often and with great force.
Yes, she was crushing and had been through a traumatic event, so it wasn't the best time to say or do something, even if she wanted to desperately. She wanted comfort now more than anything, but acting recklessly was not the right thing to do. She knew that.
It was easier to ignore those desires with her parents here, her mom was figuring out how to hold her and never let go, and her dad wanted her to withdraw from the hero course. Thankfully that conversation was shelved for the moment.
Izuku had been monitoring her empathically since the USJ calming her down so her emotions didn't overwhelm her, inducing a breakdown. He was also becoming keenly aware of her feelings towards him; he didn't want to prey on those emotions but didn't want to abandon her when this was what she needed the most. He was going to have to talk with Momo. He felt sleazy, especially how good it felt to wake up with Momo on his side and Mina on the other. She seemed to be in a better state with her parents next to her, but of course, who wouldn't be? A pang of jealousy ran through him, seeing so many parents that cared; Kyoka had said it best his phone didn't even ring, and he didn't expect it to.
Not wanting to sit around staring at the families, he took a walk to clear his head when he encountered Midnight.
"Principal Nezu would like to see you." She said, her tone made it clear that it wasn't a request.
Please don't make me fight the faculty after yesterday. "I have nothing better to do; please lead the way, Professor." He replied, falling behind her; at least the view was excellent.
-Meeting the Principal-
"Welcome, Mr. Midoriya. Would you care for some tea?" Nezu said from behind his ornate desk.
Izuku looked around, admiring the craftsmanship of the work put into the furniture, all the pieces tied together exquisitely. "Nice office," Izuku said. "Yes, some tea would be nice." Stretching out his mind to their immediate surroundings taking notice of the people stationed nearby.
Nezu poured him a cup before retaking his seat, waiting for Izuku to taste it before starting their meeting. Izuku smiled at the flavor, a personal blend, "Very nice; now, how can I help you today?"
"First, Mr. Midoriya, I wanted to inform you that Brighton Freadom has been released from our custody and returned to his family. Also, he has been expelled."
"Are you kidding me?" Izuku said, setting his tea down. "What more did you need to lock this asshole up?"
"In a word: Evidence," Nezu said calmly. "We have your class's word against his, and he has plausible excuses for his "actions" at the USJ. Enough so that conviction would be a long shot at best. Now while we have a recording of the common room in your dorms, we do not have audio recordings to respect you and your classmate's privacy. Holding him was a danger to the school, and bearing that in mind, we released him to his family, who are leaving the country as we speak."
"Did you just call me in for this?"
"No, Mr. Midoriya I did not." Nezu said, leaning forward. "Let me be frank with you, All-Might approached me immediately after his encounter with you outside Aldera High, and after he told me the story, I became rather intrigued as to the particulars of your story."
"I'm listening," he said, his mind scanning the area again and noting that some of those he had detected earlier were moving closer.
"So I looked into you rather extensively to say that the transformation you underwent from before your accident to six months later is miraculous. And for your quirk to awaken after such an event is similar. And such a powerful and versatile quirk. All the doctor reports are perfect and amazing; interviews were spot on, exactly what you would expect."
"I still do not hear a question."
"I haven't asked one yet," Nezu replied. "Now, if we couple that with a report that someone had jumped off a Yaoyorozu Building at the time of your accident, we find some interesting parallels. Those, coupled with unknown energy readings, are very interesting indeed. Unfortunately, there is no evidence to corroborate that suspicion, but nonetheless. You emerge six months later, looking like you do, test out of Aldera High, brush off the #1 Hero in the country in such a way that he comes to me, then you go to work. You work two jobs, clean up a beach, court Ms. Yaoyorozu, piss off Brighton Freadom, and wander through our practical exam as if you were picking flowers, then your second exam was a joke. Your written exam would give only those without some intelligence-boosting quirk a chance at passing it, yet you did perfectly, I might add."
"Still waiting for the question," Izuku said calmly, keeping his smirk as the people were even closer now, and he could see Snipe on the building across the way.
"Ms. Yaoyorozu, Ms. Shield, and Ms. Hatsume are attacked by an outside force for unknown reasons, saved by an unknown entity. You arrive at U.A., brutalize Mr. Bakugo during your battle trial, calm the student body during the break-in, and then during the USJ, you are sent off to fight alone. You emerge victorious, rescue Ms. Ashido, heal your classmates save some from the brink of death, and drive off the enemies."
"Anytime now," Izuku said.
"Somehow Brighton Freadom wasn't able to escape the clutches of your class last night after his revelation, as well curious. So, my question is, what are you, Mr. Midoriya?"
"I am just a boy in love with a girl who dreams of changing the world."
"Is that all you are going to tell me?"
"Yes, it is," Izuku responded, sipping the tea. "Great tea, by the way."
"May I ask why?" Nezu said, leaning forward.
"Simple, I don't trust you, and why should I share my secrets with someone I don't trust," Izuku replied, setting his teacup down.
"Would you care to elaborate?"
"Of course, we can start with Professor Snipe across the way on the rooftop and whomever I am sure you have lurking around us as we speak. I caught a glimpse of him and assumed others were around us."
"Stand down," Nezu called out. "That better?"
"Not really, it was the implication of what you intended to do, but for the sake of argument, we can say that I won't have to toss him off the roof. But let's get into specifics since you seemed to like that." Nezu nodded and leaned back. "You purposely gave me a much harder written test than anyone else in the school, including your recommended students. After I passed that, which should be more than enough to qualify for an Academic Scholarship, I was only granted a partial. Second, you sanction some bullshit second practical exam off the word of All-Might, who will get into it later, to appease your curiosity. Why? I had already passed your written exam; I had passed the practical exam with all the others, was my demonstration against the Zero Pointer not enough? Was helping other students not enough? Would killing all the robots and walking out be enough? Was not saving people not enough to prove my character to you?"
"Is there more?" Nezu asked.
"OH, HELL YEA," Izuku said with a smile. "So, you invade my privacy and dig into my life, and in all that digging into my school life, how did you not catch a whiff of all the bullshit that Bakugo pulled. Either that is willful ignorance or stupidity. You don't strike me as stupid so that I will go with willful ignorance or the third option; you didn't care. Well, which is it?"
"Mr. Bakugo has the potential to be a great hero," Nezu said. "He does have some tendencies that need to be curbed."
"There it is!" Izuku said, snapping his fingers. "He gets a pass because he has a great and flashy quirk. Let us look past all the bullying and how egotistical he is that he can't even be bothered to learn someone's name because they are beneath him. Let's ignore all the violence and everything else for his "POTENTIAL" to become a loud, brash hero who doesn't care about helping people, only proving he is the best. That this sorry excuse for a person accused me of hiding my quirk from him just so I could laugh at him, that I endured years and years of being treated as quirkless for a fucking lark."
"While there were some troubling discrepancies, there was no hard evidence."
Izuku nodded, "As in there is no hard evidence that everything you described that happened to me didn't happen that way? Something didn't smell right, but let's ignore all that bullshit and focus on the kid with whom All-Might has an issue."
"All-Might may have brought you to my attention, but the strange circumstances have brought you to my attention."
"Why? Because I told him to and his little protégé to fuck off, I wanted nothing to do with them. I kept my promise. I kept his fucking secret, and when he felt bad for being an asshole and I told him to shove it, he couldn't handle it. He came to my house after he was told if I wanted to talk to him, I would; he pulled my quirk registry after I updated it for god only knows what reason. When I told him I didn't want to discuss it with him, he threatened me; when I non-violently ditched him so I could test out of the hell hole known as Aldera, he followed me. I try to avoid him and JR. accosts me on the street, I try to leave, and they won't allow it. I did threaten violence at that time, but I answered his questions. I don't owe him shit. Then what's he do? Comes running to you? And you decide to root around in my life to satiate your curiosity."
Nezu looked at the young man nodding at him to continue.
"You know so much about my life then you had to know that Brighton Freadom was here on ulterior motives, but you decided to grant him admission to play games with his Father? You took a dream from someone else to play a damn game, and where did that get you, Principal? Your game got many people hurt and psychologically scarred. Your faculty ignored a legitimate warning that something was wrong because the people who delivered it were connected to me. All he had to do was check the damn cameras, and he failed to do so. Just like your heroics teacher failed to be where he was supposed to be, his idea of heroics class is to have us fight each other, like a homeroom teacher that seems to prefer sleep and threatens to expel us. Or because you say so, they take up a sniper position on a student who has done nothing but pass your stupid tests. Why? Because you allow this treatment. Despite everything I have demonstrated, I am allowed to be treated differently. Now you come before me and ask me to tell you my secrets? Go FUCK YOURSELF!"
"Is there any more?" Nezu said.
"Was that not enough?" Izuku said.
"In more ways than one," Nezu responded. "You said you are trying to change the world. What will you do to those that don't want the world to change?"
"Nothing, they don't matter, they can stand all they want against the rising tide of change, and all they will find is they are trying to stop the ocean from moving by standing in its path."
"And should I demand answers?"
"You have your answers all there, whether you believe them or not, but I don't owe you, All-Might, or anyone else here any answer. I answer to myself and the girl I love. This world ignored me and treated me like shit, and if you want to play by a separate set of rules for me, fine. You can do what you want, but if you threaten me or have people moving or in place to threaten me, I guarantee you will not like what happens next."
"I already told one person today that I do not take kindly to being threatened in my own house," Nezu said, his voice going cold.
"If it is becoming a regular thing, then maybe you should look at what you are doing to make people have to threaten you," Izuku said. "After everything I said, you have nothing to say, not a single "I'm sorry," nothing?"
"Would you believe me if I said it?" Nezu said, his voice still cold.
"No, your words mean nothing; your actions speak for you. Is there anything else? I feel this conversation has run its course, and I would rather be anywhere else than in this office." Izuku said, getting to his feet.
"I believe we have exhausted all avenues today; maybe next time," Nezu said, his voice returning to life.
Izuku just turned and left, his anger bubbling beneath the surface; he could sense them all. They were all there except for Recovery Girl and Eraser Head. He reached out and could still feel all the parents at the dorm; not wanting to dampen any of his classmate's moods, he went to the support course dorms.
-Melissa and Mei-
The inventor found herself walking out of the workshop, covered in soot, as the latest baby had met an untimely end. The thing is, Melissa wasn't even sure how that it had happened, and with such force, a familiar laugh caught her attention, and the telltale snap of a picture caused her to whirl around. She saw Izuku standing there laughing.
"I know you didn't do that on purpose just for me or anything, but I needed a laugh." He said.
Melissa smiled. "Well, glad I can cause some amusement for someone," she said, dusting the dirt and grime from her hair. "What's Up?"
"Honestly?"
"Of course," she replied, walking towards him. "Talk to me, Izuku."
"Feeling kind of lonely, the parents are still at the dorm; I don't want to drop in on Momo right now and drop stuff on her, so I came to see you two."
"Well, Mei is cleaning up her mess; I was going to get cleaned up. Why don't we go out and get some food? We don't have to have our talk; we can hang out. Dreaming Green and Tropical Lab Coat; we always said we wanted to meet someday." She said, smiling.
"You know that sounds nice; I'll wait here." He said.
"I will be back in a jiffy," she said, jogging off.
He walked over to the lab, the familiar smell of the explosion hanging in the air, "Mei, you in here?"
"Yea, come on in Izuku," he heard her call. Following her voice, he came across her staring at a schematic as some robotic floor cleaners moved around the dirty workshop; when she turned around, though, Izuku was not prepared for her to see her in her overalls with one strap down, lacking a shirt and her bra obvious and very shear.
"Holy shit Mei, where is your shirt?" he exclaimed, covering his eyes.
"What's the big deal? I am wearing a bra?" Mei shouted back. "It's not like you haven't seen boobs before; it's not different from when I wear a swimsuit to go swimming."
"Ok, I get that, but that bra is rather see-through."
"What do I not have nice tits? I thought they were pretty good, not Momo level but still worthy of being ogled."
"Yes, they are very nice, Mei; now, can you please pull up the other strap of your overalls." He pleaded.
Her laughter rang through the workshop, "Wait till I tell Momo you said I have nice tits," she teased. "You can open your eyes now, you big baby."
Cautiously he did; she was covered up, but it seemed more erotic now than before; he knew what those straps were hiding. When she turned sideways, he saw her sides and the thin black line of her panties over her hip, and her bra was visible again; he had to admit Mei looked incredibly hot right now. The look of the soot was rather erotic. He looked away, pretending to look around the shop at the mess.
"Want some help?" he said.
"Of course, I am trying to figure out how this exploded. By my calculations, the explosion shouldn't have been this big, no matter what." Izuku reached out with Telekinesis lifting all the stuff off the floor and gathering all the dust and dirt into a pile.
"Melissa and I were going to go hang out. Do you want to come?" he offered.
"Not today, I want to do some more work, but you guys have fun," Mei said, as everything started getting cleaner much faster, thanks to Izuku. "You ok, dude?" Mei asked. Noticing the absent look on his face.
"Somewhat, just annoyed, wishing my parents weren't such assholes. Contemplating murder, you know, the usual. Yesterday was rough."
"I can only imagine what that must have been like for Momo and you. You, in particular, Momo, told us what almost happened. Stupid question, but you ok?" Mei said, walking over and touching his arm.
"It was strange; all that anger and rage at losing her completely took over; it didn't even register that I could try and heal her and that almost cost me. If it weren't for Kyoka translating, we wouldn't have this conversation, which bothers me. I feel like I failed, failed to heal her sooner, and just lost composure."
"Look, Izuku; I can't say I understand how that would feel. I know that if I lost that girls or even you, I would be despondent, but if I get angry, some stuff will blow up, but not the whole world. I don't have that kind of power and wouldn't want it. All I can say is that even though you go all Dark Pheonix, I will try to stop you. It doesn't mean I would try to kill you; I would still want you around." She surprised him by kissing his cheek. "You mean a lot to me, and Melissa, don't forget that. You are not just Momo's boyfriend but also our friend. You know we don't have many of them, and even if I did, there is only one of you, Izuku. Never forget I care about you too."
"Thank you, Mei," he said, hugging her. He was happy when she returned it.
"Beter?"
"Much better," he replied. "How about you show me what blew up, and I can see if I can help you figure it out."
Melissa returned shortly, her hair in a braid, wearing a black t-shirt that read "Science. It's Like Magic but Real." And a pair of blue jeans with black heeled boots. "Did you help her clean?"
"Yes," he said sheepishly.
Melissa shook her head, taking note of Mei's state of dress, "Did you want to come hang out with us, Mei?"
"No, I'm good. I want to keep working but bring me back some food if you could." She responded.
"Sure thing, you ready, Izuku?" Melissa said.
"See you later, Mei."
"Bye, guys," she waved, not looking back.
-Melissa and Izuku-
It was awkward for a moment before they started giggling. "Why is this weird?" he asked.
"Because we don't spend time alone that much," Melissa answered. "Tell me what's bothering you?"
"It's the USJ; I lost control," he responded.
"It is understandable, Izuku; from all I have heard, it was an intense situation."
"It was, but the fact that I lost control almost cost Momo her life and many others."
"Then you have to work on it; I know my saying it makes it sound simple, but it isn't far from the truth. Momo is not the only one that cares about you; Mei does, and so do I," she said.
"Thanks; Mei said the same thing; I just get so lost in my head. It gets a little difficult."
"Understandable, your mind confuses you or makes you think about things you wish it wouldn't," Melissa said. She reached out and took his hand; he looked at her questioningly. "Sometimes touch is the best way to remind ourselves that we are not alone." Slowly she intertwined their fingers. "I will not leave you alone, Izuku."
It felt nice, but he felt like he was crossing a boundary, that the way they were walking was more intimate than friendship. But he didn't pull his hand away. "What did you want to talk to me about? Before the whole USJ thing."
"We can talk about it another time," she said.
"It is just the two of us, and lord only knows what will happen next week," he said with a chuckle. "Talk to me, Melissa. Distract me from yesterday."
"I don't think that it would be much of a distraction," she said, leading him along the path past the school gates. "I wanted to talk to you about…I wondered, could you give me a quirk?"
Izuku stopped walking for a minute, "I never thought about it."
"You know what it is like for us quirkless and what we must go through. It may be selfish, but you are the walking dream of all of us to one day be given a quirk that would allow us to change the world. I am not saying I want the same level of power you possess, but I want to know what it's like to tap into something more than myself."
Izuku, still holding her hand, hadn't thought about that. Mei and Momo had quirks; he, like Melissa, was quirkless, and what he revealed himself to her would do to her. "What if I say no?"
"Then you say no." Melissa said, "A dream is a dream, is a dream. Not all someone's dreams come true. I will still be by your side. I still believe in the future we can bring about."
They continued walking; he was thinking if it was possible. Then it hit him; Jean had said that the Phoenix had awakened a dormant quirk in his system, the one that was similar to his mother's; the telekinesis, telepathy, and the rest were part of Phoenix force, but that one was his.
Melissa was nervous. Her heart was thumping, his aura was doing things to her that were highly inappropriate, and the thoughts of kissing him kept creeping in at every opportunity. Their hands felt nice together.
They walked into a café, which wasn't very busy, and they sat towards the back; she reluctantly removed her hand from his as they looked over the menu. Izuku looked over at Melissa, her beautiful aqua eyes and blonde hair. He realized he was looking at her in a not-friendly way and quickly focused on the menu.
Soon they placed their orders. He was surprised when she spoke once the distraction was no longer there.
"You need to form more anchors." She said.
"Huh," Izuku responded, a little shocked.
"You need to form more anchors; Momo is your whole world. If something happens to her, the world burns. Understandably, you didn't let the world burn because of her. That is beautiful and loving, but the world can not revolve around one person, not even Momo. People will continue hunting you; the line of work the two of you are going into is dangerous. And if you are going to change the world, you won't always be able to be right there with her."
"I understand," Izuku said. "But I don't know how; with Momo, it was easy; it was instinctual. It was a puzzle piece clicking into place. Maybe it was because of how I clung to that memory from that day in the park, and my mind or the Phoenix Force knew when I saw her. I don't know if my instincts are leading down a proper path or if I am just a greedy disgusting hormonal guy."
"Do you believe that Mei and I care?"
"I do."
"Let's build on that, Izuku; I want to be here for you. I want to be by your side. Now am I lying?"
He extended his empathy and telepathy to her; she was telling the truth. "No, you are not lying."
"Keep reading me; I like you and want to date you."
Izuku almost did a spit take but the memory of her conversation with Momo about this very subject. "I don't know what to say, Melissa."
"Do you think I am attractive?"
"Yes."
"Do you find me intelligent, interesting, nice to be around, and the greatest inventor alive?" she said with a smile.
"Yes, to the first and maybe tied for the greatest; Mei is impressive." He replied, smiling.
"I find all those same things about you. Momo is alright with it, and I am alright with it. Do you not like blondes?"
Telepathically he reached out to Momo; she giggled at him as he relayed the conversation.
I am glad you find this funny.
Izuku, you read her mind; you know the conversation.
But still.
Izuku, do you love me?
With all that I am. You know that.
And I love you; I know no one will ever supplant me in your heart. I meant every word I said to her; Jean and I discussed this. You must understand what your presence does to people, especially the girls. Mina would jump you if given the opportunity, especially after yesterday. Ochaco thinks your cute. The Phoenix represents life itself, and creating life, you ooze a vibrancy that attracts people to you. I love that I am your world, and I genuinely do, but I know I can't be that forever; if something happens to me, I don't want you to stop trying to change the world; it is your dream and mine. As long as they have your best interest and know what they are getting into, I am ok. Now enjoy your date with Melissa.
The conversation ended, and he looked at Melissa, who smirked, "What did Momo say?"
"That she can't be my whole world forever." He replied. "Ok then, Melissa, let's date and see what happens."
"Then, after we eat, let's do something else; let me distract you."
"Distract away." He said.
As it turned out, distraction meant bowling and much shit-talking while they played. Melissa was funny and also competitive; it was an exciting experience. She would flirt and crack jokes; all the while, she was dominating him in bowling; in his defense, it was his first time. They got to know each other more, discussing books and hero theories like they would argue about online all those years ago. He liked her laugh; it was light, full of energy and happiness. She would take his hand sometimes and hold it for a second or put her head on his shoulder, enjoying the closeness of each other.
When the time finally came to journey home, they stopped by a burger stand to pick up some food for Mei, as promised, before heading back to campus. The whole experience had done precisely what Melissa had pledged to, distracted him, and lightened his load, from the USJ incident to the conversation with Nezu—knowing that Melissa and Mei cared had been a comfort. The hug from Mei, and the declaration from Melissa, were another reminder that others cared for him, something he lost track of.
As they approached the duo's private workshop, neither was surprised that the lights inside were still on.
"Thank You, Melissa. I had a nice time."
"I am glad I could help Izuku; now, something for me." She declared. She reached up and kissed him; he was surprised by the softness and fullness of her lips, the fullness of her chest pressed against him. His mind flared as she wrapped her arms around his neck; quickly, he used his telekinesis to set Mei's food down before he wrapped his arms around her waist, his hand reaching down to grab ahold of her rear that she had been shacking at him while bowling. She moaned in his mouth as their tongues wrapped around each other, her hands snacking into his hair. When she pulled away, she smiled. "That was better than I thought it would be."
She picked up the food and sashayed towards the workshop, leaving Izuku standing there. "We will come to see you tomorrow." She called back.
Izuku stood there, aroused and confused. The last 36 hours had been a whirlwind of highs, lows, joys, and confusion. Shaking his head, he walked back towards the Hero course dorms. He was about halfway there when he heard someone crying; cautiously, he followed the sound, and on a path that led towards the forest, he saw a familiar head of periwinkle hair sitting on a bench, her head in her hands.
-A Girl on a Bench-
"Nejire senpai are you ok?" he said.
Nejire looked up, startled, trying in vain to hide that she was crying. "Oh, it's you. I'm fine, don't worry; I have something in my eye."
"I hate it when that happens," he said till he stood near the bench, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a tissue. "Here so you can dry your eyes some."
"Thank you kouhai." She said, wiping her tears.
"I can sit with you, you know, just until that dust stops bothering you." He offered. Nejire nodded, scooting over some for him to sit. "Do you want to talk about the dust? Sometimes it helps drive it away."
Nejire bit her lip as it trembled; quickly, she dabbed at her eyes. "The dust is stupid, and it is lying to me. Kouhai, am I pretty?"
"You are beautiful, senpai," he responded.
"I am right; I have a nice figure, a good butt, and nice boobs. But that stupid dust ignores me and always lies, and I wouldn't say I like it. You know the dust doesn't want to come to my room anymore and won't let me go to his? It only lets me spend the night once this entire time, and then suddenly, it doesn't want to see, kiss, or touch me. Why doesn't the dust want to cuddle me? Or take a bath with me? Or let me do things? Why doesn't the dust want to be with me? No sneaking off, no special time. Why Kohai?" the last part of her voice was breaking as she started crying again. Izuku put an arm around her as she started crying into his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Kouhai," she said, trying to compose herself. "I am the senpai. I shouldn't be doing this after everything that happened to your class yesterday."
"As well as can be expected," he replied. "Can I say something, senpai?" she nodded. "That dust is the dumbest thing on the damn planet, and you don't deserve to be treated like that or made to feel this way. It should be begging to take a bath with you, letting you do whatever your heart desires, trying to convince you to sneak off, and begging you for a special time. You don't need the dust, and you deserve better. Any dust would and should be thankful you wanted to do any of that."
"Thank you, Kouhai," she said, hugging him tightly. She kissed his cheek and stood up. "I don't want to be sad anymore or made to feel bad for wanting to be near my dust. I deserve better. Thank you, Kouhai!" she flew off; Izuku just shook his head; Mirio was a dumb ass.
-1-A Dorms-
He returned as the last of the parents were departing when he entered the class in the common room again; he saw his classmates visibly perk up when he walked in. Momo walked over and kissed him gently; she tilted her head sideways. "Whose perfume is that?" she whispered. "That's not Melissa's."
Izuku quickly filled her in telepathically about his encounter with Nejire on his way back to the dorms. Momo agreed with his assessment that Mirio was a dumb ass. Izuku went to the kitchen to get himself something to drink when he turned around; he saw Kyoka.
"You ok, Izuku?" she said, gently touching his arm. "It must have been difficult with all the parents here."
"It was; it bothered me more than I thought it would; that was why I took off for a bit," he responded, pouring himself some tea.
"You better now?"
"Yea, it helped to get out and distract myself." He said, smiling and patting her hand. "Thank you, Kyoka, for noticing and for caring."
Kyoko blushed slightly, "That is what friends are for, stupid." She lightly punched his arm before leaving the kitchen.
The class returned to their conversations as Izuku joined Momo back to where they had been the night before; Mina smiled, seeing him. When he sat down, she leaned over and placed her head on his shoulder; under the blanket, she took hold of his hand. Momo did the same on the other side as the class debated what games they would play that night.
-Hanger 5-
"You had a simple task and couldn't even handle that." Dominic spat as he backhanded Brighton, sending the boy flying. "If you had acted as I have taught you, you may be on your way to satisfying your urges instead of bleeding on the floor. You stupid, stupid child. Instead, I must fly to Japan to pull you out of the fire."
"But father…" Brighton couldn't finish his sentence as Dominic slapped him across the mouth.
"In what world did you think I wanted to hear your response? Not only have you failed, you have embarrassed our family name. You will make this right, even if it costs your life. Send him in!"
The door to the office opened, and in walked a tall man, 6'5, well built, 285 pounds wearing an exquisite black suit, black shirt, and a red tie; his skin was an alabaster white. His black hair was slicked back but hung loose around his shoulders; a single red diamond pattern rested on his forehead.
"He is all yours, Dr. Essex," Dominic said with a dismissive wave.
Brighton screamed in panic and terror after his father as the man walked away; black tendrils slithered out from the doctor's shadow, wrapping around the boy and dragging him back.
"Don't worry, my dear boy, when I am done; you will be all he ever dreamed of," a sadistic smile danced across the man's face as the tendrils silenced Brighton's screams.

I have been moving stories over to AO3 to see how they do over there but I WILL NOT BE ABANDONING ALL YOU here on Fanfiction i will continue to update both sites as i write more but in the process of posting From the Ashes over there I went through and combined chapters especially the early ones as this was the first fic i started to write, I also went through and corrected a bunch of punctiation and grammer. So in about a week I will repost the updated chapters here with all the punctuation corrections. I doesnt mean you need to re read but if you see a sudden thing of new chapters and the number of chapters reduced for this fic that is what happened. THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT, I CAN'T EXPLAIN WHAT IT MEANS. I HOPE YOU CONTINUE TO ENJOY THE STORY.
