U.a, the most well-known hero school in the world, the workplace of many pro heroes and one of the greatest minds in the world Nedzu, considered one of the safest places in the world so when a large portion of the main building is blown away everyone starts to panic.
Fire meets fire lighting up the campus as Endevour tries to blast Korra out of the sky, the ground rising up behind him in a tidal wave of stone, engulfing Endevour and dragging him into the earth., Korra breaths heavily, even with the metal leaving her body her muscles are still weakened from a lack of use, static echoes as the heavily damaged intercoms come to life.
"Ms. Korra, you are not in danger. Please try to remember why you were brought here." Nedzu's voice echoes through the halls as Korra falls to the ground, her eyes still glowing as she realizes her memories sorting themself out as the shock fades and she realizes that this isn't the red lotus compound, it's a school.
"What happened?"
"Recovery girl healed you, but it appears that it triggered some uncomfortable memories." the voice echoes again from a different intercom, the roof starting to come down around it, Korra brings her arm up, the brick and metal ruins forming into beams to support the roof.
"An excellent show of control." Nedzu praises.
"Now if you would be so kind as to bring Todoroki back to us, the ground has been heating at an alarming rate since he vanished." she waves her arm a tunnel forming to him, steam escaping as heat is exposed to cool air.
Korra feels footsteps, sensing metal moving toward her she stops it, a choking noise coming from the direction of it, she looks over to see a black-haired man suspended in the air by a metal scarf, she bends it away from his neck ensnaring him before dropping him to the floor, the tired man taking greedy breaths.
"No one is to attack her." Nedzus's voice echoes through the entire school building and every hero who had come running stops in a circle around Korra. She waits until eventually, a White-haired Animal walks through the rubble.
"When All Might told me you were powerful I believed him, but even the footage didn't do you justice, Id like to offer you a place here until we find your home."
"Even after I destroyed it?"
"If I banned every student who destroyed a class we would lose so much potential, I find that the best heroes tend to have a wild side." She looks at him and nods.
"Oh.. well, thank you for the help." she gives the best bow she can while sitting on the ground.
"Would it be ok if one of my teachers caries you, i don't believe youre chair made it through." he looks around the room. "We can talk in my office while we wait for the authorities, Ill explain all of this away easily but they'll still need to investigate." Korra nods and a Doglike man walks over.
"Can I pick you up?" he asks and Korra nods the man lifting her effortlessly Nedzu climbing up to rest on his shoulder.
"The rest of you check for anyone whos hurt, most of the damage was to empty classrooms but be vigilant in spite of it we don't want anyone being missed." the rest of the class moves out Endeavor walking out of the hole in the ground looking pissed.
"Ah Todoroki, let us hope you didn't fry all of the piping throughout my campus," he says, and Endeavor flinches.
"I melted a straight tunnel." he says and Nedzu hmms.
"Please meet the Authorities for me while i and Ms Korra speak." Endeavors fire grows but he nods.
"Houndog please bring us to my office." houndog starts moving towards the broken parts of the building moving up a staircase coming to the top floor and walking towards a massive metal door.
Korra waves her hand and it opens. "A practical use too, you have a mastery of youre quirk that takes a lifetime to foster. Houndog sets Korra in a chair and Nedzu climbs down taking his seat.
"Thank you hound dog, would you mind going to storage and collecting another wheelchair" Houndog nods leaving the room.
"So I've spent a number of hours looking into you, and from all I can find you didn't exist until you fell from the sky."
"Of course, I existed before that." she deflects and Nedzu chuckles.
"I do quite enjoy word games, but now is not the time so ill be blunt, you are not from this world, now before you panic I'm going to make you an offer, attend my school and become a hero and I will forge the documents for you to live in this world."
"Why would you help me?"
"I could say it's because I have a soft spot for people who don't belong but that would be a lie, id like you to tell me about youre world. Not right now mind you but once you begin attending my school for now I get a chance to redesign U.A once more, Ill add dorms in case we get another student who has no home as I'm sure you don't want to stay with Todoroki.
"I can't figure out how he feels about me."
"He probably wants to marry you to his son Natsuo to try and create another pro hero in the family."
"So he's a noble then?"
"Somewhat, he is the second highest ranked pro hero in Japan giving him a high societal status. Does youre world still have nobility, most of our nobility are just figureheads in this day and age."
"There are the highest nobles, the earth kings the Firelord, and the chief of the Watertribe, and the earth kingdom and Fire nations have systems of nobility in place."
"Fascinating, so youre home is split into four distinct elemental nations…." he's cut off by Hound dogs return.
"Well continue this at a later date, ill arrange for a room at the hotel in the city nearest U.A while we reconstruct the school. I'll ensure Endeavor pays for the best physical therapists in the world to aid in youre recovery, there are 6 months until the school year begins do you believe you can get back into fighting shape by then?" Korra steals her resolve nodding.
"I will."
"Good, good. I look forward to watching youre career now the police should be nearing the door let's leave our plans between the three of us." korra nods and Hound dog just sighs laying on Nedzus's couch knowing this would lead to trouble.
After Nedzu explains the police away and makes a few phone calls he looks to Korra.
"DO you have any clothing asides from what youre wearing? " she shakes his head no and he hmms.
"I'll have Kayama take you clothes shopping soon, on 's dime of course. Now hound dog can you escort Miss Korra to the Saffron Hotel while I speak with Endeavor someone will meet you at the gate."
"Sure thing." Hound dog sends back bringing the wheelchair over to beside Korra who grabs the handle and pushes herself into it.
"Let's go," she says grinning at him as the wheelchair starts to roll itself towards the door, houndog closes the door behind him leaving Nedzu and Endevour alone.
Houndog and Korra make their way downstairs and through the campus, students start to congregate near the gate and Korra keeps her head straight as she passes them pointedly not looking at them as she hears them try and figure out what happened coming to the gate to find a young woman in blue scrubs, holding a U.A duffel bag.
"You must be Korra?" she asks and Korra nods.
"I am, you the one Nedzu sent?"
"I am Eir a certified caretaker, Nedzu wants me to work with you until you regain your strength."
"Am i causing you trouble?" korra asks her.
"No, Actually Nedzu is paying me double while i work with you."
"Oh, that's good then, back home they make sure healers are well taken care of so I hope it's the same here too."
"We're well paid." she deflects.
"Alright, let's get me up to that 'Hotell' I'm covered in dust and I need a long bath."
"I can take her from here hound dog." The nurse tells her, moving to push Korra's chair when Korra waves her off metal bending the chair forward.
"Ms. Korra, you cant use youre quirk outside of school grounds." the nurse chides and Korra sighs.
"Fine," she says stopping the nurse coming up behind her and grabbing the handles starting to push.
"If you lose me on the hill I'm going to use my bending."
"I won't lose you down the hill." she assures as they make their way down the hill and down the street towards a massive skyscraper the doors open in front of Korra, her eyes widening as she sees the ornate building nurse Eir pushing her up to the front desk."
"Two rooms for Korra?"
"Here you are," she says handing over the keys.
"And thank you for youre patronage, if theirs anything we can do feel free to ask."
"We will, thank you." Eir pushes Korra away from the counter and around the corner walking down the hall.
"134 here we are." she steps past Korra using the keycard to open the door setting the duffel bag down pushing Korra inside grabbing the bag and closing the door behind her.
"Bath first." korra tells her moving her hand and the bathroom slides open revealing a large bath.
"Just help me strip and I can handle the rest." korra tells the nurse, both having dealt with nudity often in their medical careers knowing its just part of the job. She helps her get undressed and into the tub, Korra moves the knob with her bending warm water starting to fill the tub as Eir steps out.
"Yell if you need assistance."
"I will," Korra assures as the only sound left is the water filling the tub.
