"Every year! Slapped with noodles, of course. Come on!"
Molly gently picked up little Freddy Junior, whose sauce covered face was streaked with tears, the table full of older children laughing uproariously. The glare she levelled at them over Fred's shoulder soon made them quiet down, some even going so far as to discretely remove bits of spaghetti from their faces, clothing, the table, and anywhere else that wasn't a plate.
"You lot should be ashamed of yourselves," she said, sternly. "Really, wasting perfectly good Spag-Bo on a food fight is one thing, but if someone gets hurt it's no fun. I've half a mind to end the tradition!"
A collective shout of protest erupted from the children's tables, swiftly followed by the adults as well. "Please, Mother," begged Percy, "don't make us stop the noodle fight! He always said it was his favourite day of the year."
She sighed, stomping away with the toddler while Percy turned to the children, bending down and putting on his best Perfect Prefect Percy face. "She's right you know. You lot should be ashamed of yourselves. The idea of the annual Nasty Nightmare Noodle Nonsense isn't to hurt anyone," he paused, an evil smirk appearing on is lips, "physically."
Rearing up from the table and towering over the cowering children, Percy laughed the most sinister laugh he could come up with and brandished his wand in a flourish. "Muhahaha! Flying Spaghetti Monster I summon thee! Punish these heathen brats who have committed blasphemy in your hallowed, sacred name!" At last, the children watching in horror, Percy twirled his wand. "Pastafarianomi Animatus!"
Teddy and his friends jumped out of their seats and couldn't look away as the spaghetti, tomato sauce, and meat began to take the form of a child. Each spaghetti-monster eyed the owner of its plate and jumped. Five children shrieked at the same time and sprinted away, the cackling Percy ensuring that squishy slimy spaghetti entered clothes, tangled in hair, and tickled nostrils.
Molly, still holding little Freddy who was breathless with laughter on her hip, tutted her disapproval but inwardly smiled at Percy's foolishness. Who'd have thought he would take so well to being the children's life of the party just a few years ago?
