Memnon45: Great start, this story already sounds interesting. Can't wait to read more of this and the title well let's just say I had this on repeat when I first played Jedi Fallen order.
Dragon Emperor0: Ah, glad to see that my introduction was well received. I was unsure if my paragraph explaining the Khalkhanan was the right call…
ThermalsniperN7: Well, now you have an answer.
ThunderBasilisk: Looks promising so far. Can't wait to see where it goes.
ThermalsniperN7: You may like what this chapter holds.
Dragon Emperor0: We're not dragging our feet this chapter.
-Coruscant, Jedi Temple-
Jin concentrated as he meditated on the Force for one of his Jedi trials, however, something seemed off… His head was above the floor, and not under the ceiling like it was supposed to be.
The rest of his clan watched him meditate while looking at him oddly. They were also giving each other confused looks, unsure of how they should react to this.
"Is this supposed to happen?" Azura whispered to Lakshmi in confusion.
"No clue." The Togruta girl whispered back in reply with a shrug.
The scene they were looking at was Jin meditating cross legged while floating in the air—upside down. And it seemed that the Khalkhanan boy was either unaware or was uncaring of the position he was currently in.
The boy had been like this for at least an hour now, and he showed no signs of wavering. Some like Rando expected him to stop after ten minutes, but got proven wrong.
"Should we stop him? Our trials are going to start soon." Yara questioned nervously, fidgeting a bit. "I think Master Obi-Wan is supposed to be coming to get us any second now." She added.
"I got it." Lakshmi nodded before she walked up to Jin and spun him upright… Though this act ended up causing him to snap back to reality and collapse in a heap.
"What the–?!" He gasped from his spot on the ground as his clan snickered in amusement. "How long was I meditating?" He asked as he got up.
"An hour." Azura replied with an amused look on her face.
"… I could have sworn it was just five minutes." The boy uttered, causing everyone to facepalm.
"And you people say I'm empty headed." Dilo pointed out.
"That's because you are half the time, numb nuts." Azura stated, smacking him in the back of the head.
"Let's just go." Rando sighed, wanting to just get the trials over with.
As the kids were leaving their quarters, they were soon met by not Obi-Wan like they originally thought, but instead Masters Kit Fisto and Aayla Secura.
"Hello younglings! I see you're already prepared to leave." Master Fisto began.
"It's time for you all to become Padawans." The older Twi'lek woman continued. "Come. The trials await." She added, beckoning them to follow her and her fellow Master.
"Can I ask where Master Obi-Wan is?" Jin asked as the group walked. "We were expecting him before you two showed up." He added.
"Oh, he made a discovery and went off-world to investigate it. He'll be gone for a while." Kit replied.
"Master Plo Koon joined him there as well, if I recall." Master Secura nodded. "They took a small ship with them, wonder what it was about though?" She mused.
"I have a feeling we'll find out." The squid-like Jedi mused as well, the two sharing a smile. The kids didn't let this boundary pushing action between the two masters to go unnoticed, though.
"You think…?" Dilo whispered to Azura who just shrugged.

-Cloning facility, Kamino-
A small ship big enough for five people dropped out of hyperspace, flying toward its destination. Said destination was a largely ocean based world with several cities built on the surface that were built to withstand storms.
"This looks like the place." Obi-Wan noted as they landed on a landing pad.
"Yes, I've heard of this place. But I've never seen it." Plo Koon nodded. "The storms make it look rather bleak." He added.
"Well at any rate, let's see if these cloners are anything like what we've heard of." The Negotiator said as they left the ship, having to pull their hoods on due to the rain.
As they approached the door of a rather odd looking building, the clear glass doors opened, revealing a sterile white interior—where a strange looking alien approached them.
She had white skin that almost matched the walls around them and wore what were her kind's equivalent of scientist clothes. She also had a long neck and the sclera of her eyes were black.
"Master Jedis. The prime minister's been expecting you." She greeted them, bowing respectfully.
"Was he?" Obi-Wan questioned.
"Curious…" Plo Koon mused, stroking his chin.
(Later)
The two Jedi now stood before the Prime Minister of Kamino, a male version of the woman that greeted them. It was obvious he was in charge by the way he held himself.
"Let me introduce to you, the Prime Minister of Kamino, Lama Suu." The Kaminoan woman told the two as the man stood, bowing to the masters respectfully. "And this is Jedi Master…" She continued.
"Obi-Wan Kenobi." The negotiator replied.
"Plo Koon." The Master nodded. "Thank you, Prime Minister." Plo Koon continued. "But how could you expect us? We never made plans to come here before now." He wondered.
"You have not?" Lama Suu questioned, seeming genuinely surprised. "How strange. After all, it was a Jedi Master who had ordered the units we had finished for the republic's army." He continued.
"I'm sorry, units? For an army?" Obi-Wan questioned.
"A clone army, yes." Lama Suu nodded. "It was commissioned by a Master Qui-Gon Jinn. So far they are proving to be the best we've created thus far." He added.
"Qui-Gon Jinn was killed on Naboo nearly ten years ago." Obi-Wan told them.
"I wouldn't be surprised if he made this request before his demise, however." Plo Koon commented. "But for what purpose, I wonder?" He wondered.
"I am sorry to hear that." The Kaminoan man said. "But regardless, you will be happy to know that the order is on schedule." He continued. "Over two hundred thousand units are ready and a million more on the way." He added.
"Let's have a look at what you have so far." Obi-Wan prompted, getting a nod as Lama led them through the facility, showing how the clones were created and trained.
"Curious, even more curious." Koon noted idly as he saw the gestation, training and even eating quarters of the many clones, all in varying stages of growth.
"You mentioned genetic modification and growth acceleration before?" Kenobi questioned.
"Indeed, though there were admittedly some mishaps early on." Lama admitted as they stopped at one particular room and opened the door, revealing a lone clone boy inside, looking out the window. "This one is from our early attempts before we perfected the growth process, but he never took to them." He added.
Upon seeing the boy, Plo Koon's face rose in surprise as his senses felt a disturbance in the Force around the child.
"Obi-Wan." He whispered to his comrade. "That boy, the Force is strong around him." He added.
"Yes, I noticed it as well." The man nodded, having sensed the Force around this clone. "Prime Minister, do you have any issues with us taking this child?" He questioned.
"For what, might I ask?" Lama wondered.
"It may seem strange, but we can sense that this 'defective clone' is strong with the Force." Plo Koon explained.
"Something that seems to not be the case with his brethren." Obi-Wan nodded.
"My my, what a surprise." Lama blinked, not expecting that answer. "If he truly is Force sensitive, it would explain why he has built some strange oddities as of late." He added.
"Oddities?" The negotiator questioned as the female Kaminoan led Plo Koon away to speak with the boy while he continued walking with the Prime Minister.
"I'm sure he'll share them with you." Lama stated.
(Meanwhile)
Back with Plo Koon, he now stood before the Force sensitive clone, and he must've felt his gaze and turned to him.
"Master Jedi." The boy nodded.
"Hello, child." The Kel Dor Master bowed in response. He then turned to the woman next to him. "May we have a moment alone? I wish to understand this boy personally." He told her.
"Of course." She nodded before stepping out, leaving them alone.
"What could you need to understand about me other than what you were told?" The boy questioned.
"The Force runs through you stronger than with your brethren, and the Prime Minister spoke of oddities. Ones that the Force may have guided you to build." Koon told him in reply. "I believe the Force may be why you are so different from your brothers." He added.
"You may be right on both accounts." The Force sensitive clone nodded thoughtfully. Then he pulled out a large case. "And these are the "oddities" you speak of." He added, opening the case and revealing the contents.
Inside lay a rifle that resembles the Vex Mythoclast from Destiny, colored a sleek silver with an extended barrel. Under it were two gloves made of a metal that the Jedi Master was able to identify as Cortosis, one of the few metals in the galaxy strong enough to be used in combat against lightsabers. On said gloves, open wide, were kyber crystal chambers.
"Oddities indeed, but the gloves are certainly fascinating." Plo Koon noted before looking at the rifle. "But why the blaster rifle?" he wondered.
"I had the same question." The boy admitted. "The Force, oddly enough… Wanted me to put a kyber crystal in it." He continued, sounding confused.
"The Jedi don't have a high opinion of such things." The Jedi Master told him in a slightly disapproving tone.
"I know, but I was originally slated to be a soldier, so I guess that couldn't be shaken." The clone pointed out.
"… A fair point. I suppose." The master nodded in admission. "I apologize, I don't believe I asked you your name, my boy." He stated, apologizing.
"Ocantis is my name, Master." The now named Ocantis replied. "But please, call me Otto." He continued.
"Well, Otto, pack your belongings. You're being taken to the Jedi Temple." The Kel Dor Jedi told him.

Meanwhile with Obi-Wan, he was on his way to meet with the progenitor of the Clone army: Jango Fett. Apparently the boy Plo Koon was with wasn't the only non enhanced clone, but a second. The first was Jango's 'son' Boba Fett.
"Lama, has Jango ever left Kamino?" The Negotiator questioned.
"Oh, no. We keep him here." Lama replied as they came up to the room where the two were staying.
"And his son, Boba. Have he and the other young clone, Otto, interacted at all?" He questioned.
"No, actually. Boba tends to spend the majority of his time with his father." The minister explained.
"Odd. I figured they would have interacted at least once." Obi-Wan blinked before opening the door and spotting the two in question, simply relaxing.
"Boba, Jango. I hope you won't mind the intrusion, but may we come in?" Lama Suu questioned.
"Hm? Oh, no worries, Prime Minister. You may." Jango replied casually.
"Is there anything in particular I need to know about you, Jango?" Obi-Wan questioned.
"I am the one Mandalorian with the best genes from my people, which is what this clone army consists of." Jango replied. "All of them have the best genes of Mandalore running through them, even little Otto." He added.
"You seem like an accomplished bounty hunter, Jango. Have you ever made your way to the inner rim, like Coruscant, for example?" The Jedi Master questioned.
"No. Never got a job that took me all the way there." Jango replied while shaking his head..
"I see." The man nodded, though it was clear that he didn't believe what he was hearing. "Thank you for showing me that our army is on track. But I should be returning to Coruscant with young Otto." He continued, addressing Lama Suu.
"Of course. Thank you for your time." The Prime Minister nodded with a bow.

Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, the Younglings were all gathered for their promotions to Padawan, and were now in the process of undergoing their final trial: the Lightsaber Dueling Tournament.
The first fight? Lakshmi vs Rando.
"Let's not go hating each other if either of us loses, alright?" Lakshmi said as she ignited her saber.
"You say that like you're the one who's going to win." The Rodian said as he flipped his light staff open.
"Ready? … Begin!" Aayla exclaimed, letting the two younglings begin their mock fight. Rando attacked first, going for a spinning swing, which Lakshmi blocked before pushing him back.
The two squared up again while Lakshmi got into a form three standing position, her saber up in front of her face, while Rando slowly got into a position shown in form four for two bladed weapons.
The Togruta girl played it patiently, waiting for Rando to strike first. The Rodian must've figured out her angle, and started doing the same, waiting for her to strike first. It was just a matter of who would let their impatience get to them.
'Rando seems to be the most likely to strike first.' Jin noted, seeing that the Rodian was starting to get twitchy.
He was soon proven right as his Rodian clanmate quickly got impatient and rushed forward, swinging his weapon in alternating positions to try and meet and overwhelm Lakshmi's guard, but the Togruta's form was unbroken.
The second a window was opened, the blue skinned Togruta girl started her counter attack, engaging in a flurry of swings from various angles. Rando was almost panicking as he struggled to keep his guard up, but Lakshmi was too fast and soon swept him off his feet, causing him to land on his back before the Togruta's yellow blade was pointed at him.
"I think I won." She quipped, turning her lightsaber off as she helped her clanmate up.
"I can tell." Rando sighed, but could concede that Lakshmi had skill he lacked.
"The next pair please step forward." Master Fisto called as the next pair of younglings stepped onto the stage, the two in question being the two Merilian younglings Dilo and Yara.
"This should be easy." Dilo remarked as he ignited his lightsaber.
"No it won't." Yara shot back, igniting her own lightsaber as both got ready to fight.
"Begin!" Fisto exclaimed, and Dilo immediately went on the offensive, the power in his strikes pushing Yara back as she was forced to go on the defensive.
"Gah! Ooh! Hey!" The girl gasped as she tried to block the attacks, her position like that of a Jedi who was proficient in Form One, though it wasn't very effective for the Form Two moves of her clanmate.
It wasn't very long before she found herself in a vulnerable position. One strike down during a hasty block caused the girl to fall to the ground—but despite his advantage—her clanmate hesitated when this happened.
Seizing the opportunity, she used a well placed Force Push on him to knock him on his back.
Surprised as suddenly being on his back, the Merilian boy wasn't able to recover in time and found a blue lightsaber blade pointed at him.
"Okay, that hesitation was on me." He admitted as Yara helped him up.
"You'll get better eventually." She told him.
As the boy got up, the masters all whispered amongst each other, noting to one another about the boy's hesitation in striking the final blow to end the match—something that they all took into account.
Right now, though, it was time for Azura to fight.
However, their clan was an odd number, so the masters had to try and find her an opponent elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan and Plo Koon soon arrived on the surface of Coruscant, and they arrived just in time to see Master Secura approach them with Anakin close behind her.
"Nice to see you guys back." Anakin nodded before noticing Otto, who was carrying his case and what little was worth bringing with him. "Who's this?" He asked.
"This is Ocantis, or Otto, for short." Plo Koon replied. "We found him during our trip to Kamino." He added.
"Wait, wasn't that where the cloners live?" Aayla interjected. "How did a Force sensitive clone pop up?" She asked.
"I'm just as confused as you are about that." Obi-Wan replied. "But we figured that it wouldn't be smart to just leave him there, and he is strong in the Force, so we felt it right to bring him here." He continued.
"A similar situation to me, then?" The Chosen One mused. "Well, if he was meant to be smart, he'll catch up to the other younglings no problem." He commented.
"The growth accelerators wouldn't work on me, but the mental processing enhancements did." Otto confirmed. "But in spite of that, I was still labeled a defective clone." He added with a sigh.
"The Force is in all life forms, clones or not." Plo Koon told him.
"Speak true, you do, Plo Koon." A voice said as Yoda walked up to the group. "Deceive you, your eyes can. Faces with your brothers, you share." He continued as he approached the clone boy and tapped his chest with his stick. "But in the Force, different, each and every one of you are." He added.
"I know that from my studies… But I didn't think I would be the odd one to become a Jedi." The clone boy admitted. "I guess the Force really is a mysterious worker of oddities." He mused.
"Correct, you are." Yoda confirmed. "Come. Things to see for you, there are." The master nodded as he gestured for the others to follow.

Meanwhile, back with the younglings, Azura was now facing off against a youngling from another clan. Specifically it was a young Iridonian Zabrak boy with a crossguard lightsaber spear—like a lightsaber Yari spear.
"Been wondering how good you can be in lightsaber combat for a while now." The Twi'lek girl remarked as she lit up her sabers.
The boy was named Zulu, and she knew him from their saber training classes with Master Windu. The two had a sort of subtle rivalry going on.
"Time for you to find out." Zulu quipped as his blue blade lit up.
"Um, did anyone else hear about these two having a rivalry?" Jin asked the rest of his clan in confusion, getting several head shakes in return.
"Not really." Lakshmi shrugged.
"Nope." Tonto scoffed, arms folded.
"Zilch." Rando shrugged.
"Man, it must've been really subtle if we didn't notice until now…" The Khalkhanan boy muttered to himself.
"Hope they don't kill each other." Yara gulped.
Letting out a controlled breath, Zulu twirled his staff several times before he used the Force to sweep Azura into the air, before dashing forward and then tagging her in the gut with the butt of his weapon, causing her to roll to the ground.
Recovering from the surprise combo, the Twi'lek girl was quick to go on the offensive, using Form Two to keep Zulu on his toes. The Zabrak boy was using Form Five, and he seemed to be quite adept at it, and the two quickly found themselves in a saber clash when Yoda and those with him arrived on the scene.
Otto was quick to take notice of what he was seeing, and focused on the match—just in time to see Zulu try to strike Azura down with a twirling spin swing of his staff, while the girl spun and jumped out of the way, flipping and twisting. But her movements caused her robes to get caught in her opponent's swings, causing her shirt and robe to fall off in smoldering strips, leaving her in her pants, shoes, headdress and the bikini top she wore under her shirt.
Zulu had the Zabrak equivalent of a deer in headlights look before he looked away awkwardly, as did almost everyone else. Azura herself, meanwhile, didn't look the least bit embarrassed.
"Well, this is inconvenient…" The girl groaned, shrugging as she got back into a battle position.
Much like Master Secura, the Twi'lek girl took great pride in her looks, and used them to her advantage. She also, like her role model, used the stereotypes of her people's sex appeal to make people put their guard down while also showing pride in her kind as well.
So this was something she was well prepared for.
Otto couldn't help but stare at the girl across the way from him. She wasn't the first female he'd seen. But all the same—she was the most beautiful female he'd ever seen.
'I know the basics of the Jedi say attachments are forbidden, but… Well, that can't really stop me from acting my age a little.' He mused in his thoughts.
As the two got back to their match, Azura twirled her body around and swung herself around, causing Zulu to back up to avoid her longer saber, before he brought his staff down—only for it to be blocked and deflected, allowing the Twi'lek girl to knock him off his balance, and then start grappling him.
The Zabrak's weapon soon flew out of his hand as Azura pulled some Black Widow moves to grapple him to the ground, and then had her Shoto Saber to his throat as she had him on the floor, her body laying on his back.
"Do you yield?" She questioned.
"I yield!" Zulu gasped, and then let out a sigh when the Shoto Saber vanished from his throat and Azura got off his back, allowing him to get up and retrieve his staff. "Heh, you've definitely gotten better." He noted with a chuckle.
"I try." The girl shrugged as she stretched a bit, her DD-cup chest shifting as she walked off the stage, allowing the last pair to step forward.
"She seems to follow your example, Master Secura." Obi-Wan noted.
"Indeed she does." The Twi'lek Jedi Master nodded. "I may take her as a Padawan to teach her things I know she'll take well." She added thoughtfully.
"If you do, I think you won't regret it. I speak from experience with these kids." Anakin told her with an approving nod.
As this conversation died down, Jin and Tanto stepped up to the stage.
"Now it's time for us to settle who's better." The Lasat said, deploying his Bo-Rifle Saber. "Once and for all." He added, twirling his weapon.
"Indeed it is." Jin nodded as his split saber activated, the two purple blades really making him stand out.
"Like Master Windu, young Jin is." Yoda noted as said Jedi approached the group.
"Indeed. It's nice to see someone else with a similar view." Windu admitted, feeling a little satisfied that he wasn't two of the only known Jedi at present that could use the Dark Side in the name of good.
The two younglings stood still for a moment before the Lasat boy leapt into the air and tried to strike down Jin in one move, expecting him to block with the middle of his double saber—only for Jin to instead split his saber apart to allow him to dodge the attack and go into a flip attack, swinging his blades in a reverse grip as he spun.
Tonto was quick to block his swings as the Khalkhanan boy landed in a crouch before he pressed his attack, forcing Tanto to go on the defensive.
Putting his saber back together, Jin twirled it and started slipping into a Form Six flurry of slashes that Tonto blocked with his own weapon, but when the two clashed and pushed against each other, the boy then caused the bottom saber to drop into his free hand and then slashed at the Lasat's stomach, causing him to jump back—before slipping into a dual saber combo attack.
Tonto tried to put up a decent defense, but it became apparent that Jin had outclassed him as he took every window he could to gain an upper hand. The Lasat boy just couldn't keep up with him as much as he hoped he could, and was gradually overwhelmed.
With one last move, Jin knocked Tonto off balance and then Force Pushed him across the stage, causing him to crash to the ground, his Bo-rifle tumbling to the ground away from him.
"And that's the match." The Khalkhanan boy remarked as Tonto got to his feet and picked up his Bo-rifle.
"Yeah…" The Lasat said, walking away.
(Later)
The clan of younglings were now gathered in their quarters again, but now several Jedi Masters were standing in it with them. They were there to choose the ones they wanted as a Padawan.
"You all did well. Now the time has come for all of you to be chosen as Padawans." Kit Fisto told the younglings gathered. "When your name is called, step forward." He added.
"Azura." Master Secura said as she stepped forward first, prompting the girl to approach her. "You will become my Padawan. I think you'll do well under my tutelage." She added.
"Thank you, Master." Azura smiled with a bow, happy to be learning from her role model.
Next to step forward was Master Luminara.
"Yara." The woman stated as the girl of her own species stepped forward. "I have seen you and your non combative methods, and I think I will be able to help you discover the best way for you to excel as a Jedi for yourself." She added.
"I look forward to what you have to teach me, Master." Yara nodded in gratitude since she did need such things.
After her, Master Fisto stepped forward.
"Young Dilo, step forward." The Master Jedi told the boy.
The Mereilian boy stepped forward and bowed to the man.
"Your skill is easy to see, your connection to the Force apparent, and your compassion even more so." Fisto told him, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. "With the right guidance, you will be a fine Jedi." He added.
"Thank you, Master." Dilo nodded.
After him came Master Shaak Ti.
"Lakshmi." The Togruta woman said as she looked at the girl. "I was impressed with your proficiency in Form Three, so I've decided to take you on as my Padawan." She continued.
"I was hoping to hear that, Master." The blue skinned Togruta nodded with a smile.
After Master Ti, the next master to step forward was Master Pong Krell.
"Which one of you is the one named Tonto Orrelios?" He questioned.
"I am, Master." Tonto spoke up as he stepped forward.
"We share similar fighting styles, you and I." The Besalisk Jedi master said as he placed a hand on the Lasat's shoulder. "Come with me, and I will make you truly sharp." He told the boy.
"I accept your offer, Master." Tonto nodded, eager to learn what he could.
Next after him was a Rodian Master who had purple skin and wore simple brown robes.
"Master Gundae." Rando smiled, jogging to the man.
"Good to see you, Young Rando. I assume you already accept my proposal to become my Padawan?" The master questioned with a smile.
"Yeah, I have!" The younger Rodian exclaimed in excitement one would expect from his age.
Lastly, it was Jin's turn, and sure enough—Mace Windu was the one who stepped forward towards him.
"I will admit, I didn't expect to see another youngling after myself obtain purple kyber crystals." The man began. "But after seeing you, taking you as my Padawan feels appropriate." He continued.
"And I accept that offer." Jin nodded, spotting the unspoken offer.
"Then I look forward to showing you the way of Vaapad." The master nodded as he bowed to his Padawan, the Khalkhanan doing the same.
(Timeskip)
Months later, Otto was undergoing a solo trial with Master Plo Koon to see if he was ready to be a Padawan. The boy had already gone on his Gathering expedition and gotten crystals for his crafted weapons, so now all he had to do was prove his skill.
"Time for us to find out if you are worthy of being a Padawan, Otto." The Kel Dor Jedi told him as Aayla walked in with Azura in tow.
"Good morning Master Plo Koon." The Twi'lek Jedi greeted. "I take it this is our clone Youngling?" She questioned, gesturing to the boy as her Padawan looked at him.
"Yes. I require Padawan Azura to spar with him for the combat test. He already has his lightsabers." Plo Koon nodded in reply, wanting to surprise his fellow Jedi and her Padawan a bit by keeping the nature of Otto's lightsabers a secret for now.
"I can work with that." Azura shrugged with a nod as she stepped up to the stage, where Otto waited for her. "Alright, Ock, let's see what you got." She said, a hand on her cocked right hip.
Otto smirked as he activated his saber gauntlets, revealing the orange-yellow coloration of his blades. Said color actually blew Azura's mind on top of the gauntlets he employed. Aayla was actually amazed herself while Plo Koon was amused by their reactions.
"... Okay, that's actually really cool!" She admitted as a grin grew on her face while she ignited her long light and Shoto sabers.
"I don't believe I've ever seen lightsaber blades colored orange and yellow together." Aayla noted as the two Padawans circled each other, waiting for one another to make the first move. "Orange marks a protector of the people while yellow marks a Jedi sentinel. What does that make Ocantis?" She wondered.
"I wondered that myself." Plo Koon mused as they watched the two start the trial.
Azura was quick to make the first dash, tossing her long saber into the air and then throwing her Shoto saber at the ground across from Otto just behind his foot, sliding and catching the long saber and swinging down, which caused the boy to block her with one of his arm sabers.
Then Otto used his other arm saber to attack, forcing the Twi'lek girl to leap back and get ready for the clone boy to press his attack. She was not disappointed when he leaped toward her with his right arm reared back like he was going to throw a punch. Azura met it with her long saber, but the blade accidentally slid along the arm's saber and made contact with the boy's fist, much to her worry…
But that worry turned to shock when the glove part of the gauntlet stopped her saber blade!
"What the–?! What metal are those gauntlets of yours made of?!" She gasped, not expecting this.
"Cortosis. I felt like it was mandatory to have the whole outside of the gauntlets made of the stuff in case incidents like this happened." Otto explained in reply, which impressed Azura and Aayla a bit.
"Impressive forethought." Azura nodded, liking the way he thought when he was thinking.
"Thanks." The clone nodded before the girl called her Shoto saber back to her while the two pushed each other back briefly—resulting in the two tumbling around on the ground before the Twi'lek girl wrapped her legs around the boy's waist and pinned him to the ground, her short saber at his throat while he had a gauntlet saber dangerously close to slicing her in two.
"... Looks like we have a stalemate." The younger Twi'lek girl noted, feeling a tad impressed at how far Ocantis had come after only a few months of being in the Jedi Temple.
"Benefits of mental acceleration." The Clone youngling replied, before he extinguished his saber at the same time as her and looked down—noticing that they were in a suggestive position. "Well, this is awkward." He noted dryly.
"Oh, you're adorable." The girl smirked at his wry attempt at humor as she got up, allowing the clone boy to do the same. "How do you even make those gauntlets work, anyway?" She asked curiously, causing her Master to wonder the same thing.
"Oh, that's simple." He began, showing his palm where a button sat on the pad of it. "There's a little button here on the pad of my palms in both of these. Just press it, and the blade ignites." He explained.
"Not a bad design." Aayla commented as she walked over and had a look at the gauntlet herself. "But what about your saber colors? Seeing orange and yellow together isn't something that's been seen before." She added.
"I honestly don't know what it means, myself." The boy mused as Plo Koon approached him.
"Regardless, young Otto, you've passed your trial. So, should you choose to, I can take you on as my Padawan from now on." The man told the young clone.
"Glad to hear it." Otto nodded with a smile.
Though as soon as this warm moment began, it ended just as quickly when a distress call came to them from Obi-Wan Kenobi.
"What the–? What's Obi-Wan gotten himself into?" Aayla wondered as she rushed to the console and brought up the call.
"Obi-Wan? What's happened?" Plo Koon questioned.
"Anakin and I seem to have found ourselves in a bit of a jam on Geonosis, and unfortunately—Senator Amadala is caught right in the middle of it." The Jedi told them as he cut down a Heavy Duty Battle Droid that came near him. "We could really use some reinforcements!" He added as more droids surrounded him before the feed cut.
There was a beat of silence before Ocantis spoke up.
"So… We're heading to Geonosis to back them up, right?" He asked, looking at the two Master Jedi.
"That we are." His master nodded before he made another call. "But first. Let us retrieve your fellow clones, shall we?" He added as the boy put on his personalized helmet.
"Sir yes sir." The Clone Padawan nodded, saluting his master.
Dragon Emperor0: Now that everyone is set up with their assigned Masters, this story can now get into the Clone Wars proper. And let me tell you, I'm excited to see them all encounter the various situations their masters get into in the show.
ThermalsniperN7: I hear that. Man, covering Attack of the Clones is gonna be a blast! I loved watching that movie as a kid! Anyway, Ocantis is an OC of mine made for this story, and yes, he'll use a custom blaster. Jedi may view them as uncivilized, but ya really can't fault Ocantis for using one given that he was meant to be gun infantry originally.
Dragon Emperor0: Exactly. Anyway, in case you guys haven't noticed, there are three ships here. Jin has a crush on Lakshmi, Dilo has a small crush on Yara, and Otto has a fairly obvious crush on Azura.
ThermalsniperN7: Those ships won't exactly bloom for a while, especially given how early it is for that. And in case anyone points this out: Yes, I named Ocantis after the shield from Warframe. He's gonna be a defender, so I thought it fit him well.
Dragon Emperor0: Anyway, guys, see you all next time. We'll be coming out with the next chapter as soon as possible.
