Summary:

Someone must have mistaken poor dear Loki for a problem solver!

Notes:

Hello,
although I have the clear and upsetting feeling no one cares about this story, here's the new chapter:

Capitolo IV: Spells and comebacks

"I suppose the only thing to do is for you to take us back to our dimension, so that we can recover our equipment which, nope, it's not this." Tom declared, handing him back that obsolete camera with a gesture of annoyance. "And then you bring us back here."

"I really don't even think to do such a useless thing; it would take away too much energy!" Loki replied. "But I suppose you are not able to do your concert like this." He added.

"You assume right." Dominic replied, slipping that primitive drum from around his neck and handing it back to the god of Mischief.

"Yeah, that's not even fun to throw in the air…or at Dom!" Matt commented, earning a glare from the blond. "Oh come on, you know that's just another way of saying 'I care about you'." the pianist softened his tone.

"Trust me, Bells, I prefer all other methods!" his companion replied, piqued. "But with that you can play 'Unintended', you know I love it. And then 'City of Delusion', which Chris likes so much. "And then, oh, sure, you can play 'Soldier's poem.' Here mostly they are all fighters, they will like it for sure." he urged him.

"No way." Matthew shook his head, handing Loki the classical guitar back.

"I'll tell you guys, I'm starting to like this instrument!" Chris confided, starting to play that double bass he had already studied carefully.

"Chris, don't mess with our plans, too!" Tom scolded him, snatching the cumbersome instrument from his hands and handing it back to Loki, who made it vanish into thin air with a single wave of his hand, as well as the other 'summoned' things.

"I understand, you have difficult tastes." grumbled Loki. "Now can some of you tell me in great detail the exact location where your equipment is stored ." He urged them.

"Well, let me think, by now the staff will have recovered it and brought it back to the studios. So it's easy. It's all in our studio, the one where you broke in to subjugate me." Tom explained. "Three rooms down to the left from where we were." he specified, just to be sure.

"I got it. Now leave it to me." asserted Loki, withdrawing into a corner to be able to concentrate better, pressing his fingers on his temples and closing his eyes.

Within seconds, Matt, Dom, Chris and Tom were dazzled by a bright light, when it faded they found themselves in front of their equipment.

Dominic's drums, with the complete kit, three guitars for Matt and his piano, two basses for Chris and camera, camcorder and a special effects projector for Tom.

"Not knowing what to take, I took a little bit of everything." muttered Loki, a little worn out by the intensity of his spell.

"You did very well!" Matthew thanked him with a big smile.

"My Tama!" rejoiced Dom, running towards his drums. "Loki, could you cast a protection spell during the concert?" he asked, as he caressed the plates, appreciating the very delicate sound that arose from them.

"Of course I can, I can do anything." replied the 'humble' god. "But why?"

"You know how it is, there's always a certain idiot who has the sadistic habit of destroying it all the time!" Dominic complained, glaring yet again at Matthew.

He looked so much like a student who tells the teacher about the bully who teases him.

"Oh yes? And what exactly does it do?" asked the master in question.

The spy whispered the answer in his ear.

"Matthew, you're awful!" scolded him Loki at the end of that confession.

"Words from the one who tried to destroy two Planets or Kingdoms…. or call them whatever the hell you want!" Matt retorted shrewdly.

"It is true, but I have always appreciated music and the fine arts. If I hadn't had more important goals in Stuttgart I would have stayed in the theater that evening!" defended Loki.

"All excuses!" the frontman insisted.

"Let's put it this way: I could make you the very target of your guitars!" threatened Loki.

"Oh yeah, I like it!" Dominic approved, his ego crying out for revenge.

"Alright, there won't be any bloody guitar throwing!" the singer gave in, snorting. "But be informed that this way you will not have my performance at 100%!"

"I think I'll be willing to take that risk!" the god rolled his eyes, before being dazzled by a sudden light.

"What weapon is that? What you did to me?" stirred Loki.

"You look really good in the picture!" Tom chuckled, showing him the results of his shots with his Reflex.

"It's an Accio spell!" Chris exclaimed excitedly.

"What?" Loki looked at him frustrated, while Tom showed him the multiple effects he could give to his shots.

"You called objects to you, the location of which was known to you. It's exactly like the Accio Spell that Harry Potter uses..." the bassist began to explain.

"I don't want to know!" snapped Loki, nervous. "Name that pathetic brat again and I…" he growled.

"You what? You don't really want to eliminate me. I'm a hell of bass player and you want a cool concert. You do need me." Chris asserted confidently and a little cheeky.

"I preferred you scared." grumbled Loki, acknowledging however that he was right.

"I adapt quickly to situations." the handsome bass player shrugged. "Besides, without me who would keep those two at bay?" he continued, pointing at Matt and Dominic.

"Hey!" snapped Matt offended, while Dom looked around, with an absorbed attitude.

"Hey!" snapped Tom equally offended. "Look, I know how to keep them at bay too!"

"Oh, Tom, please, you're worse than the two of them put together!" Chris retorted, making Loki smile.

"I knew how to keep him at bay when he was under my spell. Maybe I should do the same thing with both of them." mused the charming god.

"Dominic, can you hear them?" Matthew muttered to his companion.

"Matthew, don't you understand? Nobody here knows us. No fans. But above all, no paparazzi!" the blond exulted, with a dazzling smile.

"You are right! We can be tourists as freely as we can never do at all anywhere else. I want to visit this place from top to bottom!" the guitarist shared his same enthusiasm.

"Yes, and I also want to go to that beautiful broken ice bridge. It would make a gorgeous background. Tom, can you take some pictures of us?" Dominic asked, pulling Matt close to him.

"Sure! This little gem is just waiting to be able to do its duty … and there are so many subjects here that I am spoiled for choice!" approved Tom, excited.

"Hey, stop everyone... I made a huge effort to provide you with the right equipment... and you're leaving?" protested Loki, indignant.

"Leave them there, we'll come back and do the rehearsal later." Chris shrugged, with a bored wave of his hand. "I think I'll take the opportunity to pay another visit to the banquet." he mused aloud, walking away with the others.

"But where are you all going?" the god of Chaos tried to stop them, in vain.

- It was a good idea to bring them here a few days in advance - he mused. – Unless I kill them before Thor's birthday! -

Naming his brother-not-brother reminded him that he had far more pressing matters to attend to and indeed he went to the Royal palace, on his way to the throne room, where he found Odin.

"What's the matter, Loki? Are you tired of your rather noisy toys yet?" muttered the king.

"They're not toys!" the young god repeated.

"So you don't deny that they are lnoisy!" deduced the sovereign.

Loki rolled his eyes.

"It's not for them I'm here. I guess it's time someone got back here. Even if it's two days before her party."

"Do you think so?" frowned Odin.

"Yes. We'll let them know that your guards have found and captured me. And we'll make them think I'm really a prisoner. " Loki instructed him. "And I don't think I'm going too far with my imagination, as soon as this extension I asked of you is over." He added, in a cold tone.

The king preferred to concentrate only on the first part of what was said to him.

"So be it! Besides, I'm sure your mother will be happy to have both children home." He commented, happy to see that, for once, Loki hadn't punctuated his words.

"Heimdall spotted him this morning, in the realm of the Valkyries. I think it's still there."

"Always chasing women. Typical of him!" grumbled the god of Chaos, sour, walking away.

"Heimdall, you have to help me." Loki began, appearing behind the guardian.

"I have already spoken to my king and have already located his son and he has ordered his guards to go and warn him." the interviewee informed him, purposely using all those possessive adjectives to outline a clear detachment.

"It's not Thor I'm looking for, but my guests! I have no idea where they are. I have already searched all the Bifrost, the mountains, the valleys, but there is no sign of them!" the younger one complained.

The eldest concentrated enough for him, after which he gave his precise answer.

"They are at the gazebos, near the Royal Palace. Not the most suitable of places, if they don't want to run into the king."

"I'm going to prevent this from happening." vanished Loki, reappearing in the designated place, where indeed he found all four of them indulging in idle chatter.

"Tell me you've at least sorted out your instruments!" Loki exhaled a frustrated sigh, walking towards them.

"Of course yes, what kind of slackers do you take us for?" scolded Matt.

"But now maybe let's go for a moment to refine the final details..." Dominic added, with a nonchalance worthy of a Guinness Book of Records.

"It won't be long, just wait for us here!" Chris advised him.

"I understand. Before you go to sort out your equipment that you left there without doing any damn thing yet ." the beautiful god caught them off guard, with cold calm, making everyone feel vaguely guilty. "I have to tell you something important."

"That you will kill us for this grave forgetfulness of ours?" ventured Tom and it was not clear whether he was joking or not.

"No, even if I killed for much less." the god of Chaos reiterated glaringly.

"It's about Thor. He will probably be back here in the morning, if not tonight." He informed them.

"So you don't want him to see us? We will remain hidden in our rooms for as long as necessary." Tom promised, despite not liking that prospect at all.

"No, I wasn't referring to that. In fact, I'm starting to think there's no magic that can keep you quiet and confined to one place." grumbled Loki. "You can also continue to frolic around, but I doubt that you can attract his attention. Unless you're big, brawling, and looking for trouble, he'll never notice you." he commented with a smile, remembering Thor's not exactly calm nature. "But even if he notices you, the important thing is that you don't mention that it was me who brought you here. Come up with something. Thor must believe me a prisoner and upon his arrival he will find me waiting for him in a cell." he explained.

"We have never seen you and we are here for other reasons. Okay, got it. Can we leave now?" Chris asked and Loki agreed.

"Wait, Loki, there's one more thing." retraced his steps Matthew.

"What's up?" the god of Mischief questioned him.

"You know the spell you did earlier? And if I told you exactly the restaurant where the thing I want is, you would be able to..."

A few minutes later, Matthew joined the others holding an overflowing plate of steaming macaroni and cheese, with a big smile worthy of the happiest person in the entire Universe.

"And what is that?" Chris questioned.

"What does it look like to you? Loki's spells really can summon anything!" Matt commented, taking a forkful of macaroni and blowing on it. "And it is also made in Italy food!" he specified, before enjoying them.

"That reminds me of something…" Dominic muttered and this time it was he who ran back, in the direction of the god.

"For Valhalla's sake! What more do you want from me?" snapped Loki, seeing him arrive.

"Loki, I know you've already done a lot and I don't want to disturb you further, but what I'm about to tell you is also a bit in your interest." Dominic replied. "Soon it will be time for dinner and... if I eat even one gram more of stuff, I'm really afraid that you won't have a drummer available for your party anymore... because I'm going to explode!" he mumbled, nervously, avoiding to face his interlocutor's gaze. "So, I don't know, but I think if you try to talk to the queen…" He stumbled over his words, rubbing his face.

"I got it." Loki asserted more calmly.

"Will you talk to her, then?" the Midgardian asked hopefully, finding the courage to raise his face and meet those emerald eyes that sparkled mischievously.

"Oh no, I'll do so much better. Now go to do your duty and at dinner time you let the other two go, but you and Matt will have to retire to your rooms, I'll take care of the rest and when everything is settled I'll come to you." He was instructed by what was by then rapidly and unknowingly becoming the god of Boundless Patience.
