With a year of college under her belt, Rilla Blythe seems to have life figured out fairly well. With a boyfriend who accepts her teenage mother status, two part-time jobs, and effectively co-parenting with Kenneth Ford and her mental health and eating are seemingly in her control for the better. Yes, Rilla thought her life was figured out until things change at a drop of a hat.

I tried to connect all of the different versions of Anne into one and wrote a timeline to explain it.

What if Marilla and Matthew had adopted a boy? Who would Anne have become without Green Gables and all it represented? What of Gilbert growing up without the one who is his touchstone? How are they different and yet which things remain blissfully similar? And who is that red haired girl at Redmond? Sometimes Providence catches up with you. Traditional in tone; AU in concept!

Graduation is drawing near for Redmond's class of 1887, and two separate celebrations unexpectedly see Anne and Gilbert sharing space, and close moments; for Anne, the 'veil that hangs before her inner consciousness' is again lifted.

Roguishly handsome Gilbert Blythe returns to Avonlea after three years away in Alberta. He is expecting to waste the next year pretending to care about books and listening to the mindless chatter from the likes of Josie Pye, but one look and a slate would change that.
