Chapter 10
Earth-192
Lex-192 was knocked several meters back as Captain Marvel blasted him with powerful lightning. Supes flew at Lex, punching him multiple times in the chest before grabbing Lex and throwing him to the ground hard, forming a crater. As Lex got back up, Supes and Captain Marvel wasted no time punching him simultaneously, knocking him about two dozen feet away.
"I'm sorry I didn't listen to you about Luthor that time you and I fought," Captain Marvel apologized. "You were right. He never changed at all."
"You didn't know him like I do," Supes said with understanding. "It was unfair of me to treat you harshly for giving him the benefit of the doubt, which, honestly, made me a hypocrite."
"It's all in the past now, Supes," Captain Marvel pointed out. "I take back what I said about you and the League not acting like heroes. Every single one of you are heroes and always have been, even if you make mistakes sometimes."
Before the two could continue their fight with Lex, the skies suddenly turned red again and a new, larger army of Manhunters, Parademons, and Shadow Demons appeared seemingly out of nowhere as all the heroes, caught completely off-guard by the unexpected occurrence, stopped dead in their tracks.
"Holy moly," Captain Marvel gasped in horror. "I thought the Tower was preventing the skies from turning red."
"Whatever's happening, we're gonna defend this planet with everything we've got," Supes declared.
Lex flew over to the two heroes, smirking. "I'll tell you what's happening. He's here."
"The Anti-Monitor?" Captain Marvel asked, his voice filled with dread.
"We'll be ready to face him," Supes stated with grim determination.
Up in the air, Kal-El and Regime Superman had ceased fighting as the latter smirked and said, "Prepare to meet the Anti-Monitor."
Wonder Woman and Diana-76 had restrained their Regime counterpart with their lassos, while Supergirl-222 delivered three punches to the villainous Amazon's face. Then the four women suddenly noticed the red skies and appearance of the new enemy horde.
"Great Rao," Supergirl-222 gasped in horror.
"Hera, help us all," Wonder Woman said, also in horror.
"Hera abhors you!" Regime Wonder Woman growled, struggling in vain to break out of her counterparts' lassos. "All who dares to interfere in the Anti-Monitor's plans to create a better state of existence for everyone will suffer her wrath!"
"The fact that you've convinced yourself that our Goddess of all beings would abet the Anti-Monitor's madness is disgraceful on so many levels," Wonder Woman snarled.
"Nothing this Anti-Monitor is doing will remotely lead to anything 'better'," Diana-76 added angrily, appalled that any version of herself could be so deluded and callous.
Galatea growled, fiercely pummeling the front of Vandal Savage's thirty-foot-tall robot with multiple punches and a powerful kick, while Supergirl-192 delivered punches to it from behind. As the Argonian women suddenly became distracted by the red skies and incoming army of enemies, Savage's robot threw out a powerful punch that knocked Galatea on the ground. The robot then turned around and tried to punch Supergirl-192, but she dodged its massive fist and rammed into the robot's chest with all her might, knocking it on the ground as Savage grunted from the impact.
"We got more enemies coming," Galatea noted.
"And the skies just turned red again," Supergirl-192 added in horror.
Then the Anti-Monitor himself appeared! In all his menacing and terrifying glory!
All the heroes, as well as any civilians in the vicinity, were utterly horror-struck by the sheer presence of the hundred-foot-tall blue and silver mechanical being who immensely towered over every single one of them.
Heroes of Earth, it is time to meet your end! The Anti-Monitor declared in his booming, malevolent voice. I am destiny incarnate, inexorable and inescapable! You are nothing! Insects fated to be crushed beneath my heel without a moment's thought! Fighting is useless! Surrender to your deaths!
Despite the overwhelming fear that washed over all of them, the assembled heroes steeled themselves in preparation of taking on their gigantic enemy.
Earth-1
While Allen, Cisco, and Frost were fighting Zoom, Thawne had grabbed Harry around the throat and pinned him against a wall.
"Well," Harry said in an effort to maintain his composure, "it must make you proud to run around wearing the face of the one person you despise with a burning passion."
"Wells," Thawne sneered with an amused smirk. "Quick with the quips, always so brave. You're in real danger now. I'm going to make you a deal. I can spare your life, so that a man of superior intellect, such as yourself, has a place in our new Multiverse."
"Thank you… for the offer." Harry nodded, seemingly gratefully as he glanced down before looking back up at Thawne with a defiant expression. "I'd rather die."
"Well, that..." Thawne sneered, raising a vibrating hand. "That can be arranged."
"Wait! Wait!" Harry pleaded in desperation, raising his hands in surrender as Thawne paused. "Wait. Think this through. Thawne, killing a doppelganger of the man whose face and DNA you once possessed can have unforeseen consequences and, as we both know, not all of them good."
"You might be right," Thawne nodded as Harry relaxed for a bit. "But, considering that I'm not wearing your face anymore, I think I'll take my chances."
Thawne plunged his vibrating hand into a gasping Harry's chest, only to suddenly retract it with a loud cry of pain while Harry remained fine.
"Yeah," Harry smirked at the shocked Thawne. "So... I forgot to mention. I went and loaded millions of bio-compatible miniature robots into my body, okay?" He laughed, enjoying the other man's reaction. "And then I programmed those robots to attack any foreign cells speeding into my system." He pointed at Thawne. "That's you. Because after Zoom… after Savitar… and, later, Godspeed… I promised myself that no more speedsters would ever hurt me… ever again."
"Speedsters, huh?" Thawne intoned. "Well..." He sped off, returning a quick moment later with a metal pipe as Harry's eyes widened. "Let's see if those miniature robots will protect you from a non-organic object speeding into your system."
Before Thawne could make his next move, he was suddenly knocked several meters away as Barry appeared, smashing a lightning-emanating fist into his jaw. Thawne quickly recovered and tackled Barry away as the two arch-enemies once again engaged each other in their ongoing war, while Harry sighed in relief and picked up his pulse rifle.
Astra was on her knees, screaming and writhing in agony as Lex-38 blasted her with green kryptonite flames unleashed from his gauntlets.
"I brought you back, General, which means I can just as easily return you to your deceased state since I have no use for you anymore," Lex boasted, gleefully.
"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM MY AUNT, LEX LUTHOR!" Kara D shouted furiously as she suddenly knocked Lex a dozen feet away by slamming into him from behind very hard. She immediately tended to Astra, who had severe burns in her face and chest.
"No!" Kara D cried out in horror. "Aunt Astra!"
"Little one..." Astra gasped weakly with a faint smile.
"You're gonna be okay," Kara D told the older woman as tears welled up in her eyes. "I'm not gonna lose you. Not again. I just need to get you..."
Kara D suddenly cried out in pain as Lex blasted her with the kryptonite flames.
"Don't worry, Girl of Steel, you're not gonna lose her!" Lex stated with a sadistic chuckle as he flew over to her and Astra. "That's because you're gonna be joining her in death very soon!" He was then struck and staggered back by a blast of electricity as a pissed off Lena Luthor appeared, glaring hatefully at her evil brother.
"Not if I have anything to say about it!" Lena growled with rage. "You're gonna pay for what you did to me!"
"Ah, I guess your bond with the Kryptonian bimbo is stronger than I thought," Lex noted, masking his disappointment with a smirk. "Should've figured, even with those mental adjustments I made to your brain, you wouldn't have had the guts to get rid of your filthy alien best friend. Well, as the old saying goes, you want something done right, you have to do it yourself."
Kara K suddenly appeared in a blur, delivering a powerful kick that knocked Lex many feet away before he crashed through the wall of a building.
"Can you handle Lex while I take Astra into space for sunlight?" Kara D asked, relieved by her Earth-21 counterpart's intervention.
"All the Manhunter robots are destroyed, so I can help you here," Kara K nodded. "Go."
Kara D quickly picked up her aunt, who had fallen into unconsciousness from her grave burns, and shot straight up into the sky in a blur.
Nyssa fired two arrows at Evil Bruce, who swatted the first one away and caught the second one in his hand. Evil Bruce charged at Nyssa, attempting to stab her with the arrow, but she sidestepped and kicked him in the groin twice, which only made Evil Bruce laugh manically as he pushed through the pain. Nyssa then punched him in the face and tried to deliver another punch, but Evil Bruce dodged it and backhanded Nyssa in the chest, sending her to the ground. Evil Bruce was suddenly thrown several feet back by a sonic scream that hit him dead on as Laurel-One, Laurel-Two, and Sara appeared. The three Lance women tended to Nyssa, helping the latter to her feet.
"Are you okay?" Laurel-One asked with concern.
"He killed Talia," Nyssa replied, with sadness in her voice as she held back tears.
"Nyssa, I'm sorry," Sara said with sympathy.
"We're gonna avenge your sister's death together," Laurel-Two stated.
"Definitely," Nyssa nodded with grim determination.
Evil Bruce got back to his feet with his usual insane grin. "Ooh! Three more of you now! The more blood I spill, the more joy it brings me!"
The four women barely had time to react as Evil Bruce suddenly tossed down some small bombs that exploded. Nyssa and the Laurels were thrown back, while Sara managed to narrowly avoid the explosion.
Slade and Deathstroke were still battling their Earth-193 counterpart, the three namesakes going at it relentlessly as the former two fiercely clashed their sword and lance respectively against the latter's iron rod. Due to Evil Slade countering the majority of their attacks as if he could sense what moves they were going to make beforehand, Slade and Deathstroke weren't able to gain a clear advantage over their opponent, which wasn't helped by Evil Slade's superior strength.
Suddenly, a blinding white light erupted near them, causing the three Slades to stop dead in their tracks. They turned to the source of the light and, to their rare astonishment, saw a glowing Lyla Michaels – her broken bones fully healed – levitating into the air as her clothes instantly transformed into a navy blue suit with silver and white linings and purple boots.
"What's happening?" Deathstroke wondered, warily.
"Beats me," Slade replied, also wary.
Lyla threw a hand out, unleashing a bluish-white energy beam that struck Evil Slade, knocking him many feet back as he was rendered unconscious.
"What happened to you?" Slade inquired.
"I'm Harbinger now," Lyla stated, her voice filled with power and authority. "We need to get off this Earth as soon as possible."
Her chest glowed with white light as she made Slade and Deathstroke disappear.
"Lyla?" Oliver called out as he, Adrian, Roy, and Thea approached her.
Turning to them, Lyla made the four vanish in a flash of light too. She herself then vanished and instantly reappeared near where Sara, Laurel-One, Laurel-Two, and Nyssa were fighting Evil Bruce as all four of them suddenly stopped dead in their tracks.
"Lyla?" Sara and Laurel-One called out as they stared at her in astonishment.
"What's with the new fancy suit?" Laurel-Two asked, right before Lyla made her, Laurel-One, Sara, and Nyssa disappear in a flash of light.
Lyla herself disappeared once more, leaving an amused Evil Bruce behind. "Well, that was entirely unexpected," the Joker-like villain said. "I guess I could always finish killing them later."
Next, Lyla reappeared where Jefferson, Anissa, Jennifer, John-90, and Ralph were standing together as she made them vanish too.
Up in the air, Kara K flew around, dodging the various kryptonite blasts that Lex-38 fired at her.
"It doesn't matter which one of you filthy Kryptonians take me on! The results will always be the same!" Lex declared. "I nearly killed your inter-dimensional counterpart's aunt and nearly succeeded in taking them both out. What makes you think..."
"You talk too much!" Kara K hissed, flying closer to Lex.
She slammed her hands together, producing a huge shockwave that knocked Lex on the ground. Kara K flew down in a blur and slammed her fists into the chest of Lex's armor, damaging it. She then raised her fist, about to deliver another blow, when Lyla appeared and made Kara K disappear in a flash of light while Lex watched in astonishment.
Lyla looked up into the sky and saw Kara D, who was carrying a healed, but still-unconscious, Astra in her arms, flying down before she made them disappear as well.
As Lyla appeared in front of her, a startled Lena asked, "Who are you?"
In response, Lyla made the other woman disappear.
As they battled throughout Central City, Barry and Thawne were at a stalemate, matching each other blow for blow in a desperate effort to gain an advantage over the other. They also hurled lightning bolts at each other, but both avoided those attacks. Thawne was suddenly blasted away by a bluish-white energy beam as Lyla appeared.
"Lyla?" Barry called out in surprise right before she made him disappear.
As Allen hurled a lightning bolt at him, Zoom caught it with a flip in the air and tossed it back at the Earth-90 Flash. Allen was thrown back into a car as his own lightning bolt hit him.
"Talk about a throwback," Cisco remarked, before quickly opening a breach as Zoom sped towards him, Frost, and Harry.
After Zoom entered the breach, Cisco immediately closed it and opened another breach, which Zoom ran out of while Frost wasted no time blasting him with a concentrated ice beam that slowed him down. Harry then shot Zoom twice with his pulse rifle, knocking the evil speedster on the ground. Before Zoom could recover, Allen sped at him and punched Zoom in the face.
As Lyla appeared in a flash of light, Cisco, Frost, Harry, and Allen stared at her in surprise.
"Lyla?" Frost said.
"Whoa, that's a badass suit," Cisco commented.
Lyla made the four of them disappear before she did the same.
As Zoom got back up, the skies suddenly turned red once again.
Thawne then appeared in a flash of red lightning. "We need to leave this world now!" he told Zoom.
Pulling out a device, Thawne pressed a button on it and a grayish-black portal opened as Zoom immediately sped into. Thawne sped off, fetching Evil Bruce, Evil Slade, and Lex-38 one by one and taking them into the portal before he entered it as well, while the anti-matter wave had already appeared in the sky.
From their respective parts of the world – Joe West, Captain Singh, and other CCPD officers, Cecile Horton with her and Joe's daughter Jenna in the West residence, Professor Martin Stein, his wife Clarissa, their daughter Lily, and Lily's two-year-old son Ronnie in their home, Iris West in Keystone City, Patty Spivot in Midway City, Linda Park in Coast City, Quentin Lance in his apartment in Star City, William Clayton and Zoe Ramirez, along with Raisa, in Oliver's apartment, Anatoly Knyazev in Russia, Lynn Stewart and Peter Gambi in Freeland, and Dick Grayson aka Batman on a rooftop in Gotham City were all horror-struck by the deadly wall of white that was consuming everything in its path before they, along with the rest of the planet, were soon wiped out as well.
And just like that, another universe was gone.
Earth-50
There were not many Manhunters, Parademons, and Shadow Demons left as the assembled heroes had taken out the majority of them, which had become far easier once Shazam and his foster siblings and Task Force X showed up.
Wayne knocked out a Parademon with a flurry of punches and a kick before Freddy Freeman descended in front of him.
"Wow, it's you!" Freddy gushed. "I've already met Superman before when he came to my schoo... I-I-I mean, my city that one time. But it's an absolute honor to meet you, Batman." He held out his hand, but Wayne only narrowed his eyes, suspicious due to the former's slip-up.
"Keep your head in the game," Wayne advised firmly as he threw out some more punches and kicks at a couple of Shadow Demon that approached him.
"Yes, sir," Freddy nodded, unsettled by the Dark Knight's cold stare as he flew around to take out more enemies.
King Shark had just gobbled up two Parademons when Darla Dudley suddenly appeared in front of him with a kind, cheerful smile.
"Hi, I'm Darla," the purple-garbed heroine introduced herself with a wave. "What's your name?"
"Darla," King Shark repeated. "Are you new friend?"
"Yes, I'm your new friend," Darla nodded before extending her hand.
"I name Nanaue," King Shark said, as he shook Darla's hand.
"Nice to meet you, Nanaue," Darla said.
"Darla, friend," King Shark said.
"Yes," Darla replied.
In the midst of striking down and blasting away enemies with her cosmic staff, Courtney paused in her tracks at the sight of an all-too-familiar white-haired woman skillfully slicing and shooting down enemies.
"Ravager?" Courtney said in disbelief. Her expression hardening, she flew over to her old enemy. "Well, look who it is... assuming you're the same Rose Wilson from my Earth."
Frowning in surprise, Ravager turned around to face the person who had spoken to her. "Well, if it isn't Miss Red-White-and-Blue. I don't know how you came back from the dead, not that I could care less, but..."
"If you're up to finishing the job, go right ahead!" Courtney barked as she pointed her staff directly at the other woman's face. "Trust me, I don't mind a rematch at all. I dare you to try and kill me again so you can see what happens."
"Nah, not in the mood," Ravager replied, to the other woman's shock. "At least not right now."
"Really?" Courtney retorted, incredulously. "I kinda find that hard to believe. Or are you just too chicken to give it another shot?"
Ravager glared at the blonde. "Look here, Pollyanna, I didn't say we were BFFs all of a sudden, okay?"
"Damn right we're not!" Courtney snapped, scoffing at the very idea. "That's something we will never be!"
"Seriously, I have no interest in going after you or your super-boyfriend anymore," Ravager finished her comment. "But if you keep testing me, I might just..."
"Rose?"
Courtney and Ravager turned to see that Conner had appeared.
"Superboy," Ravager greeted, sardonically. "Like I was telling your rod-wielding, star-spangled girlfriend here, I'm not in the mood to fight either one of you."
"Unless you have kryptonite or red sunlight weapons on you, you know you can't fight me anyway," Conner reminded her.
"In other words, which stopping him from knocking you out and tossing you in a cell where you belong?" Courtney told Ravager with a smirk.
"Looks to me like you two have far bigger problems to worry about than me," Ravager pointed out.
"You're right," Conner admitted. "You're nothing compared to what we're currently up against. If you're gonna help us fight during this Crisis, that's fine, but I'm gonna be watching you and if you try anything we don't like, I will take you down on the spot."
"Do whatever you have to do," Ravager remarked.
"Oh, by the way," Courtney said, before slugging Ravager in the face. "You have no idea how much I wanted to do that ever since I was brought back."
Ravager smirked in amusement. "Guess you're not as awfully sweet as I thought."
"I could've blasted you with my staff, you know, which I'm actually tempted to do," Courtney pointed out.
"Point taken," Ravager remarked.
Harley Quinn of Earth-50 continued striking down and impaling enemies with her javelin when she suddenly found herself face-to-face with a woman who looked very similar to herself – chalk-white face, light blonde hair with dyed pigtails, and a similar red and black combat uniform. The biggest difference between them, aside from their slightly different faces, was that the white on the other woman's face was obviously painted on, whereas it was Harley's actual skin color.
"Whoa!" the two women gasped with widened eyes at the same time.
Harleen Quinzel of Earth-222 took in her counterpart. "Wow, you're me from this world!"
Harley frowned. "What?"
"I'm you and you're me!" Harleen stated, excitedly. "You know, the Multiverse!"
"Oh, that!" Harley realized, before frowning again. "But how do I know it's not just bullshit? No offense, but what you're saying sounds kinda out there even for me. I mean, for all I know, you're just a cosplaying fan pretending to be the real deal."
"Hey, if our roles were reversed, I'd say the exact same thing to you!" Harleen snapped, offended by her counterpart's comment. "But, in this case, I'm just as much the real deal as you are, Harley. You can call me Harleen, by the way, and I'll call you Harley. You know, to avoid the confusion with us having the same name."
Harley nodded. "Sure thing I guess."
"That's a cool javelin," Harleen commented. "Where'd you get it?"
"From a friend, who gave it to me right before he died," Harley answered. "Say, if you're really me from another world, we should talk more."
"Good idea, considering it's not exactly every day I get to experience something like this," Harleen agreed.
Prince wrapped a larger Manhunter in her lasso and swung it around, destroying the Manhunter as she slammed it on the ground hard. She then sliced down a group of Parademons and Shadow Demons with her sword before lunging and smashing a smaller Manhunter into pieces with her shield.
Suddenly, a glowing yellow ankh appeared several feet away from her and Prince watched as the Dr. Fate of this Earth emerged from it, accompanied by three other individuals. The dark-skinned man garbed in a suit of gold and red armor with a helmet shaped like a hawk was Carter Hall aka Hawkman. The man clad in a blue and red costume with an atomic symbol on his chest and a mask with white eyes covering his entire head was Al Rothstein aka Atom Smasher. The last person in the group was an attractive young woman with reddish-brown long, curly hair who was clad in a green and purple uniform. Her name was Maxine Hunkel aka Cyclone.
"Dr. Fate, Carter," Prince greeted kindly.
"It's good to see you, Princess," Hawkman greeted back.
"It's been a while," Prince noted with a smile.
"Several decades, to be exact," Hawkman pointed out.
Prince turned to Atom Smasher. "Al?"
"Not the Al you know," Hawkman told her.
"Al Rothstein," Atom Smasher introduced himself as he waved at Prince. "Hi."
"Hi," Prince said back before turning to Carter. "Can I assume you're already aware of what we're up against?"
"Multiverse-wide threat, countless universes wiped out of existence by a wave of anti-matter, a threat unlike anything we've seen or faced before," Hawkman stated.
"All of it caused by the Anti-Monitor," Dr. Fate stated.
"Kent already filled us in on the details," Hawkman told Prince.
"Good," the Earth-50 Wonder Woman said. "The more allies we have, the better."
"This is gonna be fun," Hawkman remarked, as a huge pair of metallic gold and red wings suddenly appeared from his back, while he produced a golden spiked mace in his right hand and a matching round shield in his left hand.
Barry-Blue scowled as he continued pushing himself as hard as he could. Not only was Reverse-Flash faster than him, but the yellow-garbed speedster had proven to be a much better fighter. While Barry-Blue had landed a few successful blows of his own, Reverse-Flash had gotten in many more hits and, several times during their fight, disappeared from Barry-Blue's view, only to unexpectedly reappear from another direction and deliver an attack that knocked the young Flash down.
Suddenly coming up with an idea, the next time Reverse-Flash pulled the same disappearing move, Barry-Blue ran up the side of a building, causing most of the windows to shatter. He glanced back for a brief moment and, sure enough, saw Reverse-Flash pursuing him. As Barry-Blue reached the top of the building, his speed's momentum sent him higher into the air, moments before Reverse-Flash caught up to Barry-Blue and tackled him, only for both speedsters to start plummeting back towards the ground, which was Barry-Blue's plan. While falling, Barry-Blue and Reverse-Flash traded blows. As they landed on the ground, dazed by the impact, Reverse-Flash recovered first and seized Barry-Blue by the throat. He then picked Barry-Blue up and sped into an alleyway, throwing him against a trash dumpster and then against a wall on the other side of the alley.
"Nice try, Flash," Reverse-Flash sneered. "No matter how hard you fight, you'll never be fast enough to stop me!"
As Barry-Blue got back up, Reverse-Flash punched him back down and sped off.
"Dammit!" Barry-Blue groaned in frustration. "How am I gonna beat this guy? He's even faster than I am!" He got back up. "I can't give up. I have to keep trying, for the sake of the universe. Or universes."
With blue lightning flashing in his eyes and sparking around him, he raced off in pursuit of his yellow-clad speedster enemy.
Wally and Jesse dodged the blasts of lightning that Godspeed fired at them from his hands. Wally sped up to Godspeed, throwing out two punches, but Godspeed dodged them and punched Wally in the chest. Jesse spun her arms around, attacking Godspeed with a powerful vortex of wind that threw him on the ground. As Godspeed got back up, Wally and Jesse sped at him simultaneously, smashing double fists into their enemy's chest as Godspeed was knocked many feet back. They sped at Godspeed again, only for him to vibrate into the ground and reappear behind Wally and Jesse, blasting both to the ground with lightning.
"You amateurs improved from the last time we fought," Godspeed noted, speaking in his deep, distorted voice. "Yet you're still no match for the power of Godspeed!"
He hurled lightning at them again, but Jesse sped out of the way while Wally vibrated through the attack. Jesse tried to attack Godspeed from behind, but he noticed her and smashed an elbow into her face, knocking Jesse on the ground, while Wally blasted Godspeed with a lightning bolt, dazing the white-garbed speedster. Wally then sped up to Godspeed, smashing a barrage of punches into the latter's chest and abdomen before knocking him on the ground with an uppercut to the face. Godspeed got back up, only for Jesse to knock him back down as she swept his legs from under him.
Up in the sky, high above the clouds, Kal had seized Zod-50 in a firm chokehold, extremely tempted to end the rogue Kryptonian General's life the same way he'd done several years ago.
"Do it, Kal," Zod-50 taunted. "You know you want to. Our fight will be over, but only if you do it and prove to yourself that you're just as much willing to kill as I am!"
"I am nothing like you!" Kal snarled, continuing to hold Zod firmly while the latter struggled in the former's grip. "It would be so easy to snap your neck again!"
The Earth-50 Superman was abruptly snapped out of his conflict when he suddenly spotted something descending out of the sky. On closer inspection, with his telescopic vision, Kal saw that it was a massive pod hurtling into the Earth's atmosphere at an alarming speed. Releasing Zod-50 from the chokehold, Kal took off into the sky in a red and blue blur, determined to stop the oncoming pod from crash-landing.
At the same time, Kent and J'onn also noticed the pod as they were still battling Zod-38.
"We have incoming," J'onn announced.
"I see it," Kent stated before gasping in horror. "It's big!"
"Go!" J'onn ordered. "I'll keep dealing with Zod!"
Kent nodded and took off into the sky at great speed, while J'onn continued fighting Zod-38.
As the pod continued descending, Kal grabbed onto the bottom of it and pushed, surprised by how extremely heavy the pod was as the Man of Steel exerted a lot of his strength. A moment later, Kent appeared next to him as he, too, started pushing the ship. As both Superman struggled immensely, two more blurs appeared as they were aided by Shazam and J'onzz, who also struggled to push the massive ship.
"This ship is so heavy!" Shazam complained.
"Even with all of us combined, it won't slow down!" Kent noted in alarm.
"Keep pushing…" Kal grunted. "With everything… you have…"
Despite the maximum efforts of the four powerful heroes, the pod continued on without losing momentum and an explosion suddenly occurred in front of it, knocking Kal, Kent, Shazam, and J'onzz back as the four quickly steadied themselves.
"Aw, come on!" Shazam exclaimed.
"Whatever's inside it is massive, sentient, resigned to its fate," J'onzz noted.
To everyone's horror, the pod smashed right through the Quantum Tower, which was quickly reduced to massive piles of rubble, and obliterated several more buildings in its path. The heroes who could fly and/or had super-speed wasted no time getting as many civilians as they could away from the area, especially saving any people who had been inside the buildings that had just gotten destroyed while catching and destroying the chunks of debris that was falling to the ground.
The pod then crash-landed in the middle of the street, the impact forming a massive crater and producing an enormous shockwave that resulted in many buildings within the surrounding city blocks collapsing into piles of rubble, while vehicles were flipped over, the sidewalks were destroyed, and civilians were either knocked out, injured, or killed.
Up in the air, J'onn stared down in utter horror at the chaos caused by the pod's crash-landing.
"Oh, my God," the Earth-38 Martian Manhunter uttered in horror, right before Zod-38 knocked him higher into the air with an uppercut punch before grabbing J'onn and throwing him through one of the heavily damaged buildings.
The assembled heroes approached the fallen pod, which was buried under the piles of broken concrete, bracing themselves for whatever was about to inevitably emerge from it as Kal, Kent, Shazam, J'onzz, Conner, and Prince made sure to stand protectively in front of all the others.
As the ground in the entire vicinity shook, everyone watched in immense horror as a gigantic gold and black armored being with a monstrous face covered in a clear round helmet emerged out of all the rubble, standing approximately fifty feet tall as he unleashed a mighty roar.
The Omega-Monitor had arrived!
"Here we go again, another giant bloody monster in one day," Bloodsport groaned at the sight of another giant being who was about to wreak havoc.
"I like fighting giant monsters," Harley said.
"Me too," Harleen added with a grin.
"Is this the Anti-Monitor?" Hawkman asked Dr. Fate.
"Not quite," the magician answered.
"Get ready, everyone!" Conner announced.
"We were born ready," Robin stated.
"We stand together!" Kal declared.
"We fight as one!" Kent then said.
"For what's left of the Multiverse," Wayne added.
"Now and forever!" Prince finished.
Then a streak of yellow light appeared, signaling the arrival of Amazo, who descended and hovered next to the Omega-Monitor. Those who had already met the golden android were briefly relieved to see him until they noticed that his eyes were pure white instead of their normal red.
"Something's not right," Wayne noted.
"You are correct, Batman," J'onzz confirmed. "I sense that something else is in control of the android."
"On behalf of the Anti-Monitor, I must destroy you all," Amazo announced menacingly.
The assembled heroes, knowing how extremely powerful the android was, were filled with sheer terror. On top of being confronted by the mind-controlled Amazo, who had just made it perfectly clear that he was about to kill them, they also had to stop the giant being from the pod.
Only a miracle could help them survive now.
To be continued...
While Lyla still ended up becoming Harbinger like in the Arrowverse's Crisis, I will be handling it differently here.
With the anti-matter wave back, thanks to the Anti-Monitor's increase in power after Novu's death, Earth-1 is now gone, with only Earths 21, 50, and 192 left.
The Omega-Monitor is a villain from the Smallville Season 11 comic series and now the heroes on Earth-50 will have to deal both him and the mind-controlled Amazo. Yikes!
