Paw patrol fighter dogs. Chapter 1, big threat
A basement, a tiny basement, filled to the brim with people. From the outside this looks like a regular house, and most of the time it is. But once in a while the basement of this house is filled with people. In the middle, a square outline of wood. People walking around with a lot of money in hand, laughing and drinking as they waited for the battle to begin. Then a guy drags a growling Labrador retriever into the square. The dog trying to get out, the men not allowing the dog to leave. The dog looks around in fear as the crowd start chanting, he was about to face a very well known fighter. An Akita that seemed to have no fear.
'Isamu! Isamu! Isamu! Isamu!' To Isamu this was the sign that he had to perform once again. Fighting is all he knew, all he thought existed. His master looked at him with the glance he showed him before every fight. Telling Isamu he must not fail, and that was not the dogs plan. Isamu looked at the other dog and saw the fear in its eyes, but there was not much care isamu could give. The chanting hurt his ears, the lights people shined at the dogs blinding, the square never being cleaned after previous fights. The master pulled on the leash, telling his dog he had seconds before all chaos would break loose. The crowd started to count down, the Akita locking in on its target. The dogs were released and the Akita went for it. The people screaming, the owners hitting their dogs to enforce more aggressive behavior. There's no way out, only thing you can do is win to survive. I present to you, dogfighting.
A few days later
A man walks up to the entrance of the Barking burg castle. The man clearly desperate as he knocked on the door. The Earl of Barking burg soon opened the door, suspicious of the man's behavior.
'What can I do for you sir?' The earl asked the man.
'I need to talk to the most important person in this town!' The man answered with an accent that wasn't English.
'Why so?' The earl asked, even more suspicious.
'I am not from here, I found out about an illegal event that will take place just outside of town. That event needs to be stopped!' The man answered strongly.
The earl didn't know what else to do so he invited the man in.
'Princess, there is a man that wishes to speak with you.' The earl reported.
The young princess came in and the 3 people went to a room where they could sit and talk.
'So, what's on your mind sir.' The princess asked.
'It's horrible your highness. An event is taking place next month at the edge of your kingdom, this is an illegal event that we must put a stop to!' The man explained.
'What is it?' The princess asked curiously.
'It's a dogfighting event.' The man said.
The earl immediately gasped. 'Oh no.' He said.
'What is a dogfighting event earl?' The princess asked.
'It's one of the most cruel ways to treat animals. It's a way of gambling, two dogs fight and people bet on who will win. Most losing dogs don't survive.' The earl reported.
'Oh no, that sounds absolutely terrible, we should get the Ryder involved, maybe he knows how to help.' The princess replied.
'That is a good idea princess.' The earl said, walking out of the room to make the call.
'How do you know about this event?' The princess then asked the man.
'My father once became addicted to the bloodsport. He still gets news about a lot of big dog fighting events, I want to out a stop to them because it's just horrible and you don't wish to see what goes on in those fighting rings.' The man answered. 'I traveled far just to come here, I hope I can make a difference in the cruel thing.'
'Well thank you for notifying us, it's really appreciated.
'Thank you for hearing me out. I have specialized in helping dogs that go through chaos like this, maybe I could help if you and that paw patrol team manage to put a stop to it.' The man offered.
'Thanks for the offer, maybe you can discuss that with Ryder, I leave him to decide what to do with this situation.' The princess said.
The earl then came back into the room. 'Ryder is coming over right now.' He said.
'Good, would you like a cup of coffee while we wait?' The princess offered to the man.
'I would like that yes, thank you.' The man said. The earl walking out to get the man some coffee.
Not much later the earl came in with the coffee, Ryder right behind him.
'Hello everyone.' Ryder said as he walked into the room. The man dumbfounded by the sight of a young kid.
'If this who is supposed to stop the situation?' The man asked, unable to understand that Ryder was a kid.
'Yes, he leads a team of pups that have saved a lot in this area.' The princess answered calmly.
'I'll do my best, I can't promise things because I've never directly dealt with this kind of situation, neither have my pups. I'd like to know more about this event I'd you have any information for me.' Ryder told the man with a calm voice. The man was still dumbfounded but did see the boy knew what he was doing.
Okay.' The man said. Everyone sitting down as they were also curious to what this event was doing here.
'It's a huge event, a lot of people know about it and are planning to go. It's at the forest at the edge of town, clear enough for the gamblers to find, but far away enough no one will here what's going on there. As far as I know a week beforehand the handler's will come in with their dogs. These dogs can be dangerous and if they break lose they can cause major problems in town. Then at the end of the week there will be 3 straight days of dog fighting. Gambling heaven for humans, absolutely horrible for the dogs.'
Ryder nodded. 'Yeah that's a big deal.' He said.
'I think you should be on alert even before the handlers get here. People will be arriving in town and I'm afraid some might want to steal dogs to bring to the event.' The man reported.
'Yeah, that's a good idea.' Ryder said, staring in front of him thinking of what was best to do.
'Our main concern has to be escaping dogs and people who try to steal dogs. I will do some investigating on the event to see what I can do to stop the event from happening and free the dogs, but that is something I cannot promise because of the size of this event.' Ryder said.
The man nodded. 'I understand that. If there are some escaping dogs I can help, I am good with aggressive dogs. Most of these dogs are just scared dogs that need some love.'
'I'll keep that in mind, I'll get the pups ready, we will be around barking burg the coming period, is that okay with you?' Ryder asked the princess.
'Of course, anything to get those poor dogs to safety. I recon I can also get something set up if we manage to free some dogs.' The princess replied.
'Alright, that sounds good. Thanks for all the info.' Ryder said getting up and shaking the man's hand.
'Really appreciate the help.' The man answered. 'I'll go find a hotel.'
'You can come with me if you want, I have a spare room in the building.' Ryder said.
'Oh, that would be nice.' The man said.
At the lookout the pups were playing, Chase immediately looking up as the air patroller cam back from Barking burg. Ryder came out of the air patroller and Chase immediately came to greet his owner. The man stood behind watching. 'Hey Chase, good that I see you. This man will be staying with us for a little bit, after I show him his place, can you meet me upstairs?' Ryder asked.
'Certainly Ryder!' Chase reacted enthusiastically.
'Come, I'll show you your place.' Ryder told the man.
The man was surprised by the place. 'This really is a rescue team, what a place.' He said.
'Yes, it's our home place, six of my pups live here, some others live with different owners.' Ryder replied.
'Wow, crazy.' The man said.
Ryder took the man to his room. 'You can stay until the situation is all rapped up.' Ryder said.
'Wow, thank you man. Sorry that I never stated my name, the name is Tyler.' The man said.
'Nice to really meet you Tyler, I need to discuss some of the things with my pup Chase, I'll get back to you.' Ryder said.
Ryder then went upstairs where Chase was already waiting.
'What's going on?' Chase asked curiously. 'Seems like a big thing.'
'Certainly is Chase. This is going to be a difficult job, also dangerous. Should we have a look in what we can try.' Ryder asked
'I'm on the case Ryder!' Chase replied
