Ever since the whole debacle with the goblet and the mortaeus flower, Merlin's taken it upon himself to taste the prince's food. Technically speaking, it isn't his job, but it falls under the realm of protecting the royal prat, so he's doing it anyways.

Melisande is lonelier than Arthur will ever admit, but thankfully, Mysaria doesn't care about differences in rank anymore than Merlin does.

Everyone knows that magic users have magic dæmons. Creatures of myth and legend. Some appear normal but have hides in unnatural colours. It's a way to pick them out of a crowd, find them, even when they try to hide in plain sight.

Morgana and Similien have always walked through the Castle like they own it, demanding respect and attention wherever they go. For the most part, it just aggravated Arthur to the point of rolling his eyes and sighing in exasperation. Merlin hated them for it.

Arthur knows his daemon isn't like other daemons. He knows that maybe he should be embarrassed or ashamed of his daemon but in the end how can he detest a part of himself? He doesn't care what Uther thinks, doesn't care what other's whisper. As long as he has his daemon by his side nothing will stop him from completing his destiny to restore magic!
