A 17-year-old boy was lying on the floor of a burning temple. His blond hair was dirty with dust and ashes. His torn clothes were stained with blood, burned by the flame that enveloped the Ryuudo Temple and cut during the fight.
He lifted his eyes from the ground and looked at his opponent; his eyes burned with an unshakable determination that even his opponent had failed to break with his Noble Phantasm.
"We're at the end, faker," Gilgamesh said, approaching the boy menacingly. He has blond hair and red eyes and wears a biker suit consisting of a white shirt under a black leather jacket and a pair of black pants. "Since you've offered me decent entertainment, I'll allow you to say your last words," he said, smiling arrogantly.
Yuto smiled very slowly confusing the man. "This is kind of you, your Majesty," he said sarcastically. "This is my last wish," he said without ceasing to smile "I order you with a command seal! Show yourself, Saber!"
The Command Seals imprinted on the back of his hand glow and one of them disappeared. Gilgamesh did not realize immediately what was happening, giving an opening that the boy decided to use in his favour. He took control of some swords that were scattered on the ground and flew them against Gilgamesh, causing him to move back a few steps.
A knight covered with heavy silver and red armour and a helmet that made her menacing and dangerous appeared through blue mana beams. She wields a white silver sword decorated and glittering adorned with beautiful decorations.
Saber threw herself directly toward Gilgamesh, aiming her sword at the man's throat. Gilgamesh opened a golden gate from which a chain came that blocked Saber's movements.
Enkidu, the Chains of Heaven. One of the many Noble Phantasm possessed by the King of Heroes and the chains that can keep even the divinities locked.
"I admit it was clever to use a command spell to summon your servant," Gilgamesh recognized while opening several gates which were ready to shoot against the Saber Class Servant. "Unfortunately, this is not enough to save you."
He fired a barrage of weapons at the servant, but Yuto covered her up by projecting a pink shield with the shape of a flower with seven petals.
"Rho Aias!"
Yuto stretched his arm in front of him and projected the shield of Aias the Great as he gave Saber time to free herself from Enkidu.
"Did you defeat Berserker?" Yuto asked his servant.
Saber walked next to her master. Her helmet began to dismount revealing her face. She has wheat blond hair and emerald, green eyes and looks identical in every way to her master except the gender that was a girl.
Her name was Mordred Pendragon, and she is the bastard "son" of King Arthur, the King of Knights, the Knight of Treachery who caused the fall of Camelot and the death of King Arthur on the hill of Cammlan, and the older sister of her own master.
Her master's name is Yuto Pendragon, and he is the son of Shirou Emiya and the Saber Servant Class of Fifth Holy Grail War, AKA Artoria Pendragon.
During the fifth holy grail war, Shirou Emiya summoned Artoria Pendragon as Saber Class Servant and together they destroyed the Holy Grail.
Yuto did not know what happened at the end of the Fifth Holy Grail War, but his mother remained on earth after she destroyed the Holy Grail and her contract with the world was dissolved. She married his father and Yuto was born from their union. However, they both died to save his life from Gilgamesh, the same person that Yuto was challenging right now, although only recently the magus found out that Gilgamesh was only the executor. The whole mind was Morgan Le Fay, Artoria's older sister, the mother of her sister Mordred and Yuto's aunt.
"I did, but it was not easy. After all, Lancelot was considered stronger than King of Knights," Mordred replied observing the man in front of her. "Instead I see that you have some problems eliminating the garbage."
"If I had killed him before you were done with the Knight of Lake, you would never have spoken to me again in my life," Yuto replied sarcastically.
"You are right," Mordred nodded, grinning.
Meanwhile, Gilgamesh yawned as he watched bored while listening to the speeches between his last enemy and Saber. "Are you done talking, Mongrels?" he asked wearily.
The siblings turned and frowned at him.
"What's your problem, huh? the King of Mongrels doesn't like to be ignored?" Saber said arrogantly, prepared to resume the battle.
The King of Heroes made an irritated grimace at Mordred. He opened dozens of doors from which swords, axes, spears and so on exit from them. "You will regret your insolence, mongrels!" he growled.
"Trace on"
With a single glance, Yuto copied all the weapons that came out from the Gate of Babylon and fired at the originals. The two series collided with each other, causing metallic sounds and sparks. Many of the weapons that were fired by the opponents collided with Yuto's fakes and those that managed to escape a similar fate wounded the two opponents although they were nothing more than superficial wounds.
"Master, how much magical energy do you have?" Mordred asked seriously.
"Not much," Yuto admitted. "Morgan told him about Unlimited Blade Works. He was prepared."
Mordred grimaced disappointed. Reality Marble was the opposite weapon of the Gate of Babylon and therefore the winning weapon of the Holy Grail War. "That bitch thought of everything." Mordred took a breath and focused her attention on Gilgamesh. "Never mind. We'll finish it the old-fashioned way and claim the final prize."
"Then I will use her sword," Yuto smiled; he put a hand on his chest that began to shine. A golden and blue sheath with a sword in it came out of his body. "On my count. One."
Mordred grinned.
"Two."
Yuto drew Excalibur out of the sheath.
"Three!"
Yuto and Mordred run towards Gilgamesh. The King of Heroes smiled arrogantly.
The last battle of the Sixth Holy Grail War had been going on for over an hour. Mordred's armour was partially destroyed, and Yuto had healing wounds thanks to the sheath implanted by his father. Gilgamesh was the best among them since he had only one small problem.
"Set!" Yuto threw four Black Keys into the air and then stopped in the middle of four magic circles. With a simple gesture of Yuto's hand, the swords used by the church were fired at Gilgamesh, who was not intimidated.
"Useless," the King of Heroes laughed at them as he opened four doors from which he fired four swords, which Yuto scanned to find out his identity. Each had sufficient power to wipe them out, yet Yuto and Mordred would not give Gilgamesh the pleasure of seeing them back. Rather, they would challenge them face-to-face.
Since they were four legendary weapons, the Black Keys produced through Yuto's Magecraft broke as if they were made of glass, not that Yuto hoped to win with mediocre swords like those. The four weapons flew against Yuto who threw himself to the left to avoid them.
"That woman was wrong about you in the end. What a miserable end for the King of Knights and that miserable faker," Gilgamesh mocked with an arrogant smile on his face.
He observed them. They were his final obstacle he could lay his hands on the Holy Grail and make him pour All the World Evil upon mankind, killing the people and ruling like a Tyrant over those who had managed to survive.
Gilgamesh opened several doors, but the grin vanished from his face as he saw them closing before his eyes. Turning to Yuto and Mordred, they were laughing in his face as Yuto had forcibly closed his doors through the catalyst used by Morgan to summon him ten years earlier: a discarded key to his vault.
They stood before him with the irreverence of those who didn't care about having a king in front of them. He could simply be a king or a soldier, he was an enemy to defeat and given the situation, it was already so long that Yuto had waited so long just to please Mordred.
"I see. That was the plan," Gilgamesh grunted irritated as he watched the two siblings, "I should have killed you when I had the chance ten years ago."
And this mistake would have been his condemnation. Ten years had made Yuto a person accustomed to seeing blood and even killing.
Gilgamesh had been a powerful and threatening opponent, supported by a master who was a snake constantly weaving poison.
Yuto quickly thought back on what had happened so far, on all the mistakes and wrongs he made and suffered. Even though he had given up revenge, he felt satisfied to ruin the plans of two idiots.
It was a half-victory that was still satisfying.
"Hey, sis, what do you think if I reinforce you with a command spell so you can kick his golden ass?" Yuto asked.
Mordred smiled when she realized that it was time to end the fight and the Sixth Holy Grail War. "You are my master, and I am your servant! Do whatever you think is right to do to destroy this bastard's delusions of grandeur!" she answered with a smirk smug.
Another seal disappeared and Saber's magical energy increased greatly.
The blade assumed a blood-red colour like the surrounding area. The Noble Phantasm of Mordred was an application of her hatred of the King of Knights in the form of magical energy.
"Clarent..."
She lifted her sword over her head, causing the area to assume a blood-red colour.
"Blood..."
She swung her sword down, releasing a scarlet lightning that destroyed everything in its path. Although that was all her grudge, that attack was a hymn praising Arthur for simply giving birth to someone who accepted her for who she is.
"Arthur."
Upon her release, Mordred was forced to stab her sword into the ground and use it to keep her standing, while she breathed anxiously and had no magic power left.
It spent a few moments until the mouths of Yuto and Mordred opened wide in horror when they saw the scene before their eyes. Gilgamesh was still standing though he was severely wounded. They were exhausted and had no other cards to play.
"No way! He is immortal," Mordred said surprised as she struggled to stand up.
"It's not... over..." Gilgamesh said, gasping. The man was still standing even though he was seriously injured.
"Yes, it is," Yuto promptly retorted. He was armed with his father's black bow and an iron arrow was stuck in it.
"And we won," Yuto continued before releasing the bow string.
The arrow was fired at a foolish speed against Gilgamesh, leaving behind a red trail, and hitting Gilgamesh's forehead in full which he could not dodge because of his injuries and fatigue.
"Damn... Faker" Gilgamesh murmured.
Yuto dissipated the bow and stared at Gilgamesh's body as it dissipated into golden grains.
Yuto fell to the ground exhausted as he let his father's bow vanish. Mordred sat down next to him and hit her younger brother's shoulder.
Yuto noticed that his sister's face had suddenly become gloomy. "Is there something wrong, Mordred?" he asked.
"You're not the only one who understood something. I realized something too. My wish was not to become King but to free Arthur from the burdens of royalty. Thinking about it, my actions led to this. So, I gave up taking the Sword from the stone." Mordred turned to Yuto. "Now that I know that Britain has survived and Artoria has died for someone worth more than a thousand strangers, I can finally give up that sword."
Yuto grabbed her hand and showed her a sincere smile. "You were right. Avenging them is not what they would want. However, what I did stays and I will have to live with it for the rest of my life. The only thing I can do is go on using those mistakes as a foundation for my future," he said. "I don't have time for that now, but I promise I'll always be by your side."
"It sounds like a promise," Mordred wiped her tears with one arm and smiled. "You must keep it no matter what, do you understand?"
They observed each other for a few moments before a gold cup with mystical symbols appeared where in the same spot where Gilgamesh had been until a few minutes earlier. Yuto was about to project a divine construct to destroy it, but Mordred instead made a gesture that surprised him.
"Clarent will be the pledge of that promise," Mordred said giving her sword to her younger half-brother.
Yuto was surprised for a few moments before firmly grabbing Clarent's grip. He made flow all the magical energy he have in the sword through the mana burst and release the Noble Phantasm of Mordred against the Grail, destroying it.
Its destruction, however, caused a strong explosion and the backlash poured on Yuto who had neither the time to project any kind of defence nor to shelter somewhere. The explosion caused further damage as if a temple was set on fire and destruction wherever it was not enough.
When the bright light from the explosion became extinct, there was no sign of Yuto, Mordred, and Clarent.
Yuto began to regain consciousness but it took him some time before he realized what had happened to him. Enduring the pain caused by his ferocious headache, he remembered the explosion caused by the destruction of the Holy Grail. The strength of that explosion was such that no one would survive. Although Avalon was a prodigious sheath to the point of being considered at the same level as the True Magic, Yuto doubted that he would survive.
He slowly sat on the edge of the bed. He still wore the clothes he had during his fight against Gilgamesh. However, although his clothes were badly reduced, his body was already healed by Avalon, the sheath of Excalibur.
Now that he had established that he was alive, his mind focused on a particular question: where was he now? Certainly not in a hospital.
Looking around he immediately realized that that was certainly not his room. He was in a large room with white walls. The furniture of the room consisted of a single bed, a wardrobe with two doors with one that was covered with a mirror, and a wooden desk surmounted by some shelves on which there were some books and a chair.
There was a letter on the desk, and he thought it was odd that it was addressed to him. To remove any doubt, he decided to open it and read it carefully. The first thing he noticed was the fact that it was anonymous, probably the sender was a crazy mystery lover.
"If you are reading this letter, it means you finally woke up and didn't die. I guess you wonder who I am, but it does not really matter. However, I am aware of your threefold nature as a Human Being, Heroic Spirit, and Dragon as well as I know about the Holy Grail and the Holy Grail War."
Now Yuto had become even more suspicious, not only had a stranger led him there, but he also knew his origins. Yuto raised his guard and continued to read in hopes of finding the sender of the letter.
"First of all, I want to compliment you on successfully destroying the Holy Grail and ending the Holy Grail War. When you caused that crash by destroying it, you were almost pulverized, but I saved you and took you where you are now."
"If you have not noticed, which I doubt, you are in another world, which is different from your original world. I suppose you have already noticed the large amount of magical energy present. Magic exists and is very similar to the True Magic of your world."
"It is an essential element of everyone's life as people buy and sell various types of magic and magic items and even learn it is quite simple. I suggest you try if you are curious."
It was true. He could feel it in the air. Mana was so abundant that the degradation rate of his projections was much slower than before. Hypothetically, low-ranking noble phantasms could stay in the world for an indefinite time.
"The house you are in is rented out and it is already paid for the next two months. If you do not want to find yourself in the middle of a road, I suggest you join a guild of wizards and take some missions that will pay you and earn you a lot of money."
"The local currency is "Jewels", so do not think about finding merchants willing to accept the currency of your world. You would just be a cheater, and I imagine that it tarnishes your and your family's honour."
Of course, he would not. It is okay that he had lived with a greedy stinker like Rin Tohsaka, but he was not a cheater. He would work and support himself. And the fact that he ended up in a world full of magic allowed him to reveal his nature as a magus, although he still had to hide his inhuman part. He would have become a laboratory guinea pig, or he would have been treated like a madman and taken to an asylum.
"Now you are in Magnolia, in the Kingdom of Fiore, while that world is called Earthland. Magnolia is also the home of the most famous and strong guild of all Ishgar. Its name is Fairy Tail."
"I think you will feel comfortable and there is much need to ask for information, I am sure you will find it rather easily. How to say? They know how to be recognized."
"Best regards and good luck,
C."
Caster was clearly a pseudonym. Whoever they were, Yuto had no way of determining whether they were an enemy or not, but they almost certainly would meet in the future. After all, nothing was free.
To see if he had not skipped any relevant details, Yuto read the letter a couple more times, deciding then that the next day he would look for this guild called "Fairy Tail" and earn enough to buy his own house, not wanting to pay rent.
"Well, I'll worry about that later. Now good night," Yuto said inwardly, letting himself fall flat on the soft bed as he fell in the arms of Morpheus.
