Chapter 1

Sitting peacefully in her garden, a young girl who looked to be around the age of ten to eleven years old, having a sophisticated look to her, calmly drank her tea laid out before her.

Her glasses pushed up her face, as the girl looked left and right.

"Onee-sama said to meet here, but its been nearly an hour…"

The girl, Sona Sitri murmured out while continuing to look around for her elder sister.

However, that soon was interrupted when she heard the sound of footsteps behind her.

Her eyes darted back, and saw approaching her, was a creature around ten feet tall. Having the face of a human, but the lower body it had looked to be akin to a tiger. Wings like a bat, and eyes that pierced through her.

It looked like some chimera creature, causing her to gasp.

She didn't have time to think, as the creature launched itself at Sona.

Sona naturally raised her hand, from that her power activated.

Water flowed through her hand, and around it, concentrating to a point that it became like a stake, ready to pierce through the toughest of substances.

She launched it at the enemy approaching her, sailing through the air, she saw it pierce its right hand side, going deep into the body of the chimera. Blood gushed out of it, but it didn't stop its movements, and opened its mouth.

"...It didn't even stop with that…"

Sona worryingly looked on, as she formed a barrier around her being, so she didn't have to receive a direct attack.

Though the power was stronger than anticipated, and she saw the power beginning to crumble her barrier upon contact.

She thought it was going to get through to her…

"Ufu, looks like even in the upper echelons of the Underworld, creatures such as this can get through."

Sona widened her eyes at the voice, to her it sounded like a young boy's.

The next moment, she saw what looked like a spear having pierced through the chest of the chimera, along with that the power released at her was blown away with a strong release of demonic power from the right hand side.

"Turn to dust."

As he said it, a bright light radiated from the spear.

Enveloping the enemy completely, the light washes over the monster, and moments later, it vanishes out of sight and out of mind.

Completely vanished.

Sona was perplexed by what she had just witnessed, she was confused, and curious at the same time.

So she turned her eyes, and they settled on a child at a distance

The young boy in question only looked to be around the age of eleven. Sporting a mess of golden blonde hair that fell just past his neck, and stopped short of his shoulders. Having youthful features that showed a rather innocent look to his light blue eyes, along with being the average height of a boy his age.

"Who...are you?"

Sona questioned, the young man offered a bright smile.

"Your new fiancee~"

Sona did a spit take, seeing the serious expression on his face.

"W-What!?"

The boy winked towards Sona, who became slightly flustered.

"Yeah, my name is Naota, and you're Sona Sitri-sama, correct?" Sona nods slowly, trying to take in the information. "Your Onee-sama, Serafall-sama, directed me here, saying that I'd be meeting my future bride. So, nice to meet you~ Please lets take care of one another from here on out~"

Due to his frivolous tone, she couldn't tell if he was joking or not.

Seeing his expression, any of it could be true.

But then he cracks up, and gazes to his left towards a bunch of trees.

"Serafall-sama, I think the joke worked a bit too well, she's completely stopped moving."

Sona blinked, and then the next thing she knew, she saw her elder sister, a young woman wearing a magical girls outfit and her long black hair in twintails came leaping out of the shadows, and yelled "Nao-chan! Its okay! Sona-chan is taken aback by your cuteness!" while hugging the young boy's head to her chest.

His eyes looked up towards her, which caused her to melt.

"Nao-chan, if you look at me like that, its too much, so adorable...though, you saved my Sona-chan, and that's always great~"

Serafall bounced up and down, which didn't help Naota, as his face was caught where her chest was. Moving up and down, his face turned a notable red, all the while his doe like eyes went towards the young woman's cute face.

"Serafall-sama, doing things like this...for a boy like me, its difficult to think when you're holding me like this…"

Serafall looked down at the young man, seeing his reddening cheeks while trying to keep composure, which caused her to grin cheerfully.

"Ara, its alright Nao-chan. Because you are so adorable, I have to cuddle you extra! Still, threatening my Sona-chan, good that he got what it deserves~ Though, I wonder, was Gabriel mentioned in anyway during your fight? Maybe she secretly sent the chimera...I could see her doing that...she is a mastermind after all..."

Naota sweat dropped when he heard that, even Sona did who was trying to recover from what she was witnessing.

"Erm, why would Gabriel-sama do that?"

Serafall shrugged her shoulders.

"Because its Gabriel, she truly is scary~" Serafall patted the boy of the boys head. "Maybe you deserve a reward for protecting precious Sona-chan~"

Sona cringed at when Serafall called her that.

"Haha, if it is a reward from you, then I'm sure its going to be wild~"

"Ahh I see Nao-chan! Don't you worry, a reward is coming~ Maybe we should cuddle together~"

Serafall squeezed him tightly to her chest for the compliment, while Sona who had witnessed this, couldn't stay silent.

"I'm sorry, but what's going on here Onee-sama? That spear…" Her eyes went towards it, and could feel holy energy radiating from it, causing her to feel notably uncomfortable. "...That is of holy origin. A Holy Spear, and…" Her eyes met with Naota's own, who offered a bright smile to her. "….I sense human. Onee-sama, what's…"

"Fufu, Sona-chan. You are inquisitive today aren't you? Its okay, Nao-chan is an ally in the name of adorable justice." Sona sweat dropped at that. "Also, from today, he's going to be staying here for a bit. He doesn't have anywhere else to go, and he's so delightfully adorable that I couldn't refuse at all~"

Naota gives strange eyes to Serafall, then leaps down to Sona.

"Just a heads up, I'm a human Devil hybrid."

Sona blinked, then nods in understanding.

"I see, so you're half human and half Devil...that's why, the spear…that also would explain the demonic power I saw earlier as well...fascinating for sure. Still, I'm curious…"

Naota gave impressed eyes to Sona, and turned around to see Serafall grinning.

"Fufu, you're right Serafall-sama, she's very smart. She has already figured out what that spear is, I can tell by her eyes."

Serafall gave the thumbs up.

"She is! She is my Sona-chan after all~"

Naota chuckles lightly, and turns to Sona.

"Sorry, I know its an inconvenience for you to have to do this. I'll do my best to keep out of your way."

Sona began shaking her head.

"No...not at all, I was surprised, Onee-sama springs these things on me all of the time."

Serafall waved her hand nonchalantly, all the while keeping his head to her chest, and agreed with Sona.

"Hmmm, don't say that. I don't think its like that. I mean, an inconvenience is when Gabriel shows up unexpected, and then she wants to talk about being best friends while secretly plotting against you, so you're not like that at all~"

Naota sweat dropped when he heard her say that.

Even Sona gave judging eyes to her elder sister.

"Geez, you know Gabriel-sama is probably a really nice person. She is an Angel. Aren't they like incapable of being horrible without falling?"

Naota asked, Serafall stuck out her bottom lip, and let out a cute cry.

"Mouuu, no. She can't steal you from me. She is really mean and that whole good girl act really is convincing."

Naota held back a small smirk at how Serafall was being, finding it equal parts entertaining as it was confusing on how Serafall felt about Gabriel.

Sona on the other hand shook her head in disappointment.

"Onee-sama, please calm your wild ways… You really shouldn't say bad things about her, she is a nice person. She is an Angel after all."

Serafall cutely whined.

Naota looked on with amusement, then developing a teasing smile.

"Ufufu, if you say such things Serafall-sama, you might have to be punished~ You can't cause problems with the Angels as your position is important in dealing with others~"

Serafall hearing the teasing tone, and adopted a grin, as she winked.

"Ara, its alright if it is Gabriel, she knows what's what, and when to take jokes~ Now, lets get going~"

Serafall took his hand, and began walking deeper into the mansion together.

Sona looked on between them, wishing to know more of what was going on.

A small time later, Naota sat beside Serafall, who was hugging him tightly, Sona looked apologetic at the antics Serafall was getting up too.

"Onee-sama, can you tell me, or Naota-san can you tell me, what exactly is going on here?"

"Ooh Sona-chan, alright. Well, Nao-chan and I are good friends~ Something happened, and…" Naota lowered his head, Sona caught it and raised a brow, while Serafall waved her hand. "Regardless, Nao-chan is right now someone who is in need of a home, so I decided to bring Nao-chan here."

Naota nods his head.

"Yes, that's the gist of it." Naota glanced at Serafall, and she adopted a soft smile. "The Underworld, seemed to be against me coming here. But Serafall-sama pushed it through, I'm in her debt."

"Its okay, you can repay me in cuddles~" Sona let out a sigh, as Naota chuckled, and hugged who brightly smiled. "Ooh Nao-chan...its okay, I adore you so we can hug~"

Sona looked bewildered, and though "Someone that can manage Onee-sama's more eccentric attitudes, quite interesting." while she watched Serafall and Naota embrace one another.

"So, you're staying here?"

Sona wondered, Naota nods slowly.

"I think it would be a bit troublesome, but Serafall-sama insisted. Though I'm only going to be here until my home is ready."

Serafall waved her hand side to side.

Naota gives a good smile.

"Then Serafall-sama, may I go for a shower?"

"Yup! Go right ahead!"

Naota gave a thankful nod, and stood up.

But then glanced at Sona, and brought out a card.

"Here, if you ever need my services."

Sona took the card, and saw it had some information on Naota, so she gazed up at him.

"Business card?"

"The Underworld don't really put me forward for many things, so if I want to grow strong, and build connections, I've decided to become a jack of all trades kind of person, my services are included on the back of the card. If you think of any needs doing, don't hesitate to call~"

As he said it, Naota did a peace sign, and winked at Sona.

Serafall gave approving eyes, and thought "Magical boy Nao-chan, definitely needs to happen." all the while Sona found it to be an interesting idea.

"I can understand that, if I need your services, I'll let you know."

"Please do, and also, spread the info to your friends~"

Naota chuckled out, and began walking away.

But he then stopped at the door, and playfully teased her.

"I'm going for a shower now. No peaking Sona-sama."

Sona became slightly flustered at his tone, and his face showing a mixture of a teasing and pleasing smile at the same time.

Serafall giggled "Ooh Sona-chan, don't you like his playful attitude~? Its too cute~" causing Sona to shake her head at the young woman.

That night, Naota was in his room for the time being, going through various posters. Wanted posters at that for Stray Devils, and began marking off which would be the best ones that he should be going for.

That's when Naota came across a curious one, seeing that it was a chimera like creature.

"They have been showing up lately…" Naota mused aloud. "...Seen in the Naberius territory...Naberius, huh…maybe I should check that out…"

While thinking about it, he saw another job that someone had posted.

So he focused in on it, and hummed as he read it to himself.

"...Hmm, a silver haired girl in the human world...unknown origin...Exorcists targeting her...disturbing the Devils land...Exorcists...poor girl, maybe I should try to find her…" As he said it, there was a knock at the door. "Come in."

The door opened, and revealed Serafall, who bounced in happily.

"Sup Nao-chan, what are you doing?"

"Ooh, just looking through what Stray Devils are out there, and seeing if I should go and take them on, along with the chimera creatures. Came across a few of them lately, seems a bit off to me…"

Serafall became intrigued.

"All apart of training, right Nao-chan?" Naota nods strongly, as the girl sits down beside him. "By the way, I also came across something today, to do with the Old Devils. Did you also receive word from them?"

Naota exhales, and nods.

"Yeah, it seems they're trying to deny me living in the Underworld, or more specifically, here."

Serafall nods slowly.

"Well, don't worry, I wont let them get away with anything, okay~?"

Naota felt relief in his heart, and he leaned closer towards the young girl.

"I know. Still, I don't want to cause you any problems. You already fought for me to stay in the Underworld."

"And I'd do even more Nao-chan. You're also a Devil, you have a right to be here as does anyone else."

Naota smiled softly at her words.

Naota then leaned back, and yawned.

"Aah, really is getting late. I think I'm gonna get into bed."

As he said it, Serafall giggled, leaping up and gave a thumbs up.

"Good night Nao-chan! Sweet dreams~"

Naota watched as she ran out of the room.

He lightly laughed "She's such an oddball." though he'd definitely not have her any other way.

The next day, Naota decided to go towards the Naberius territory within the human world, though it also had Devils living there. It was a Devil controlled town, so Naota went to see if he could find anything out.

Though as he approached various people, Naota didn't get very far, as most decided to ignore him.

Because of that, getting some information was difficult.

"Since no one is talking, I should explore a bit. The Devils don't seem too concerned, but those that are Low Class have been being targeted. If they don't want to look into it, then I'll investigate. Something strange is going on, so lets see if I can find anything…"

Naota decided to do that, and began walking out of the small town.

On the outskirts of the town, he came across a small little black cat, that was letting out a whimpering sound.

Naota went towards the cat, and bent down.

He saw that there was an injury on the cats leg.

"Ooh kitty...hmmm, the wound doesn't seem deep, yet it is bleeding a bit…" Naota took out a small vial and began sprinkling the contents of it on the cats wounds. "There we go...looks like those Phoenix Tears are working."

"Nyyaaaa~"

The cat meowed adorably, Naota melted on the spot.

"How cute~" He gushed, holding the cat up to his face. The cat stuck out her paw, and rubbed it against his nose. "Haha, you're all good now, kitty?"

"Nyaaa~"

The cat meowed, and wriggled out of his hands. Landing on the ground, the cat leapt up, landing on his shoulder, and rubbed his face with her own, letting out a purring kind of sound.

Naota softly smiled, and petted the back of the cats head.

Soon enough, the cat jumps off, and looks towards Naota's face.

"You're leaving huh? Be safe little Nekomata."

The cat paused when Naota said that, furrowing her brows as she looked on.

"...So you knew huh."

The cat spoke, Naota nods.

"Wasn't sure at first, but you answered me so, yeah…"

"Ooh damn it…"

The cat threw her head back and let out a small sigh.

Naota looked amused at the small black cat, cracking his neck fully towards her.

"Can I ask you, has there been any strange activity around here lately?"

"Strange activity nyaa? Like what?"

"Strange creatures, disappearances. Things like that."

"Well, I'm not from around here exactly, but I do live not so far away. I have heard whispers of some disappearances nyaaa."

Naota became intrigued, and leaned forward.

"Could you tell me more? I'm looking into these chimera creatures."

"Is that so nyaa? You're a bit young to do that."

"I suppose, but I'm concerned for people that can't defend themselves. So any information, would be great."

The girl became intrigued, then she pulled forward, and began explaining.

Once she finished, Naota bowed his head.

"Thank you for telling me." Naota pulled out a card with his number on it along with a summoning circle, passing it to the cat. "Here. If you ever need me, please feel free. Or if you have any more information, please contact me."

"Will do nyaa. Goodbye for now~"

Naota waved, and began walking off.

The cat then moves away.

As the cat does, the cat begins to turn into something else.

A young black haired girl, with cat like ears, and a tail, her eyes looked back towards the disappearing Naota, and lightly smiled "What a nice Devil boy...no, he also has human in him too...huh. He healed me, without knowing me, and those tears aren't exactly cheap either, thanks...damn, I didn't even get his name." as she also began to leave the area.

But then she looked back towards him, before she looked at the card in her hand, seeing his name on the top, giving it a fond looking smile, then she vanished in a blinding light as she whispered "Maybe we will see one another again, Naota-chan." while wondering what else she sensed about him.

That thing, being...holy power.

A distance away, back in the town, a young Devil watched on, and his eyes glanced at the place Naota disappeared.

His hand tightened, and his eyes squinted, looking rather angry as a result.

"Who the hell is this bastard? Looking into the chimeras...damn chimera got out and went to Sitri, but I made sure it wouldn't be brought back to me...this little shit is now getting closer, I have to make sure he doesn't find anything more out. Good thing he's a half breed scum and no one wants to communicate with him."

The boy took in a breath.

His eyes scanned the area Naota was last in, then he adopted a smirk.

"You half breed, trying to meddle in my affairs. Alright then boy, I'll show you why it isn't acceptable to mess with a real Devil. And afterwards, perhaps you can become my experiment, half breed Holy Devil."

Developing a strong smirk on his face, the boy soon left to begin getting things ready.

A few days later into his investigation, Naota traversed the Underworld together with Sona for a small break, having begun discovering some new locations that the chimeras had been popping up.

Though during that time, his name had begun spreading among the masses, or more specifically, that he currently was living with Serafall.

Touring the streets of one of the Capitals in the Underworld, Naota could see various people looking at him, or making comments about him.

"I can't believe Serafall-sama actually brought that to our part of the Underworld."

"Yeah, maybe he's blackmailing her or something...it isn't natural."

"I heard he has holy power...what kind of Devil has holy power?"

"Tch, why does his kind have to mix with us? A half breed, and a holy power user..."

Hearing the whisperings of the Devils, though Naota didn't seem to care, and kept mostly to himself.

Sona on the other hand looked rather disturbed by what she was hearing.

"Naota-san, I'm sorry for their words towards you."

Naota paused, and gave Sona a curious look.

"You have no reason to apologize to me, really its alright."

Sona wasn't happy with it though, and expressed her thoughts.

"But, in my eyes, it isn't alright. They can't say those things about you, they have no knowledge about you."

"Yes, you're right in that way. But I'm used to it. Whether it be humans or Devils, its been like that for pretty much my entire life. Even then, thank you Sona-sama. You truly are kind."

When he said that sincerely with a matching smile, Sona fumbled with her bottom lip, wondering more about Naota and how despite the words that he received, he was able to still keep going and not let it get to him.

"Naota-san, may I ask you something? And also, sorry Onee-sama dragged you to watch over me...I keep telling her I'd be fine, but its..."

"No worries, its fine. Serafall-sama is only being cautious. But you have a question for me?"

"I do. How would you say your interactions are with humans?"

Naota was befuddled by that question.

"Why would you want to know?"

"Because…" Sona paused, thinking on how to articulate her thoughts. "...I am trying to understand humans more, to find out about them, and seeing their interactions, how in turn I may begin interacting with them."

Naota raised a curious brow.

"You wanna know more about humans huh? Well, I suppose it would be for your peerage right?"

"Somewhat accurate yes, but I genuinely wish to know interactions between humans. If you have any experience, then it would be greatly appreciated."

Naota found it curious why Sona would want to know about such things.

"Interactions between humans is pretty much similar to you and me. Though they don't talk about Devil politics, and the likes. They talk about friends, their family, what's relevant in the news, what new songs they like. I'm sure you've got friends that you speak about things like that with, right?"

"Indeed...though, its difficult for me to have interactions like that."

Sona said truthfully, Naota raised a brow.

"Really? But we're doing it, right?"

Sona blinked a few times, then nods a single time.

"Yes, I suppose we are. Still, why I'm asking is, because I...I intend to go to the human world at some point, to study more about not only humans, but other things as well...for a dream I have, I wish to have as much knowledge on different types of systems, and seeing if I can incorporate those into my own."

"Well, if you have any questions, please let me know."

Sona nods in thanks, and then hums, and looks down at her phone.

"Actually, could you do me a favour?"

"What is it?"

"I have some items that need picking up, but I also have a meeting. I will pay you of course if you'd do it for me-"

"No need to worry, I don't mind getting you some stuff. Tell me what you need, and I'll get them."

Sona bowed her head.

"Thank you, Naota-san." Sona explained what she needed, and then moved back a few paces. "I shall see you later. Again, thank you."

Naota nods and watches her leave, then goes on to do what he needs to do as well.

In another part of the city, a young girl with blonde hair, tied into two small drill like twintails, was casually walking through the park, that was in the Underworld.

Currently, she was alone, as she wished to get things done, and others were busy. Being in the capital of the Underworld, she thought that she would be rather safe since she was a Pure Blooded Devil.

"Now that I have gotten my clothes, maybe I should head back home...hmmm, I wonder if...no, Sona-sama is rather busy right now...and I recall Rias-sama is also rather busy...everyone seems to be busy...hmmmm..."

She wondered what she should do, considering those she knew were busy. Dealing with their families, and the issues that comes with that. She didn't have that much right now to do with her family matters, since she was one in four children, meaning she had more free time, so at times she caught herself wondering what she could do.

However, as she was about to exit the park, a young man who Ravel would describe as handsome, albeit with a rather displeasing expression, approached her.

The boy in question was a year or so older than her, and his name was Diodora, who was accompanied by those he would call his underlings, even if they rather would refer to themselves as Diodora's friends.

One such was a boy named Zephyrdor, who had a delinquent like look to him. Having eyes that looked rather piercing, and possessing various markings across his face, his eyes focused upon Ravel and gained a gleam in his eyes.

"Hey...Ravel."

Ravel turned to the young man Zephyrdor, a slight annoyed expression on her face.

"Yes, can I help you Zephyrdor-sama?"

"Yeah, actually. I was thinking about if your family has had any thoughts regarding us?"

Ravel raised a brow in confusion.

"Regarding..." Ravel pondered, then she gave a sickening expression as she recalled what he meant by that. "No, they haven't. And neither have I. Now if you'd excuse me..."

Zephyrdor wore a frown on his face, and pulled to the right hand side of her, while Diodora looked amused.

"Seriously, it seems that you're being rather bratty today Ravel."

Ravel was astonished when she heard him speak to her in a manner that she was believe would be threatening.

"Excuse you?" Ravel demanded, seeing Zephyrdor giving off a rather smarmy look. "Honestly, I haven't even contemplated the idea of what I'm going to be doing by joining any family other than my own, I'm not going to be thinking about it either. And I'm surprised you're even thinking about it as well."

"Well, we're both Devils. You kind of annoy me, but the Phenex and my clan coming together, it would be a rather good deal for us. Phoenix Tears, they're a rather wonderful tool to any Devils house, and joining my house would in turn benefit you and your group. So, give it a think over, and consider becoming a part of my group, I'll be receiving my Evil Pieces not long from now, I have to begin thinking of who should be in it, and you'd be a good choice. Though that attitude of yours will have to stop."

Ravel rolled her eyes and found Zephyrdor to be a really difficult problem to deal with, something that Diodora caught and frowned upon.

"Being disrespectful, Ravel? Considering your status in your family, it would be an honour to become apart of a family like Zephyrdor's."

"He isn't a clan head, we're in the same position as we're both High Class Devils. What benefits would that offer to me?"

Ravel countered, Diodora snickered.

"Right now, he is, but in the future, well he is an up and coming Devil, and you...hmm, what are your talents again?" Ravel lowered her eyes ever so slightly, something Diodora saw, and adopted a smirk. "See, you have to think about what's good for your family. Personally, I don't care either way, but Zephyrdor seems to be set on having a Phenex in his group. And because you're the only viable candidate, why don't you say yes?"

Ravel found it rather deplorable that they were being like this.

So she wished to get out of there as fast as she possibly could do.

"Because, I don't want too, that's why. Now, excuse me."

Ravel tried to leave, Zephyrdor on the other hand didn't look impressed, and pulled ahead of her.

Ravel frowned, and politely, but also angrily exclaimed "Could you please move?" as she tried to go once more, but Zephyrdor didn't allow it to happen, and came between them, something that Ravel didn't like in the slightest.

As that happened, Naota walked through the park on his way home, and saw Ravel being distressed by those that were with her.

Zephyrdor kept getting in her way, and Diodora taunting her, which caused her eyes to fall and she looked disheartened.

Furrowing his brows, Naota made his way over to them.

Then when Ravel tried to move, Zephyrdor grabbed her bag, and looked into it.

"What's in here huh?"

"G-Get off, that's mine!"

Ravel protested, Diodora looked bemused as Zephyrdor looked casually into the bag…

Or he would have if suddenly, accompanied by a burst of wind, the bag was snatched out of his hand, and returned to Ravel, surprising the three of them there, along with the other followers of Diodora.

"What the..." When Zephyrdor tried to make a move, he suddenly felt someone tapping him on the shoulder. "Yeah?! What do you want Diodora!?"

"That wasn't me, idiot."

Zephyrdor became confused, looking at Diodora who was grimacing.

"If it wasn't you, then who was it!?"

Zephyrdor snapped, turning to see a young boy stood before him.

Confused, he went to retort, when Naota did so instead.

"The lady said she wished to leave, let her leave."

Ravel looked towards the young boy, and looked surprised when seeing his face.

"Oh yeah? Hey, aren't you that half breed scum?" Zephyrdor snickered out, the boy looked undeterred. "Yeah, that's right. Heh, I'm shocked that you even have the guts to come up to a High Class Devil like me."

The boy slowly nods as if he was amused.

"If you keep harassing this girl I'll show you what guts I've really got." As he said it, Zephyrdor felt for a moment coldness running through him, as Naota locked eyes fully with him. "Its rather pathetic what you're doing, so leave now, and save yourself a beat down, and the humiliation that comes along with that."

Zephyrdor didn't like that, while Diodora glared on with his hand tightening.

"You think you can beat me!?"

Zephyrdor yelled, the boy nods without pause.

"Based on what I sense, and how you make a fist, to me it seems like you've not had many fights during your life, so its best if you go now."

Zephyrdor didn't like that, and swung his fist for the boy.

But the boy caught the fist, and used a single hand to twist his wrist, going far enough that Zephyrdor let out a cry of pain, and fell down to his knees, all the while the boy suspended Zephyrdor's wrist into the air, Zephyrdor looking up angrily.

"Hey now, that's rather mean~ Attacking an innocent Devil such as me~"

Naota said in a singsong voice, to the amusement of Ravel, who watched on with bewildering eyes.

"You little shit! I'm a High Class Devil! You're nothing but filth!"

"Geez, you really are one of those types that can't accept when you're beaten huh? I don't care what your status is, harassing this young girl gives your status little meaning. So, its better if you give up right now."

Diodora gave a cheery smile, as he pulled closer.

"Listen, clearly this is a misunderstanding. Release my friend, or I'll have to have you arrested for attacking your superiors. I'll give you a minute to do what is the clear choice. You know what will happen, and who people will believe."

Ravel was taken aback by how self assured Diodora was being, and how rude he was as well.

The boy turned to Diodora, and let out an annoyed breath.

"What a shock, Dildodora is picking on people again. You really love flaunting your power, don't you? How many times do I have to stop you from being such an ass huh?"

Diodora gained a tick mark by his forehead.

"Don't call me Dildodora! Besides, what kind of name is Naota anyway!?"

The boy snickered, Ravel turned her head, and hid her own smile growing on her face.

"A pretty normal name from Japan. What kind of name is Dildodora?"

"I said, don't call me Dildodora! That isn't my name!" Diodora growled. "Tch, Zephyrdor, lets go. We don't need to associate ourselves with scum anyway."

"B-But-"

Zephyrdor complained, but Diodora stared hard and whispered "Let it go, he isn't worth it.", so he relented, and Naota released Zephyrdor, who pulled away with a growl.

Then he looked at Naota, huffing and walking off with Diodora and the others.

Once gone, Naota turned to Ravel, and gently smiled.

"You okay...Phenex-sama, right?"

Naota asked, since he wasn't entirely sure if that was her clan since he was still getting used to the Underworld.

Ravel looked astonished, especially by how gentle his voice was.

"Eeh...ah, yes, I'm a member of the Phenex clan...I am, aha yes, thank you."

Ravel was so stunned that she didn't know what to say as a response, only managing to say those few words.

Naota nods a single time.

"Good, then see you later."

He began turning, but then he paused, and turned back.

He pulled out his card, and presented it to the confused Ravel.

"What's this?"

"My card, the duties I do are on the back. If you ever need any kind of service you wish for. Please think of me, and if you like what I do, please spread the good word~"

Ravel could hear the frivolousness in his voice, yet at the same time she could hear the genuineness accompanied by gentleness as well.

"I see…" Ravel looked at the cards back, and saw the different duties that he did. "...Well, this is pretty intriguing to me, I, I shall think about it, and, and yes, thank you."

"Wonderful, then if you'll excuse me. I've got some duties to attend too."

Ravel tilts her head curiously at the frivolous way that he said it, and watches as he waves "Stay safe Phenex-sama." while walking off.

Intrigued by what she saw with how he dealt with Diodora, and Zephyrdor, while also helping her and get them away from her, Ravel thought "Hmm, the rumours don't seem to be true, he didn't look like some thug to me. He protected me, and didn't even ask for anything in return..." while she saw that he walked away.

As Naota arrived at the castle later on after finishing off the business that he had been doing which took a good deal of the day, he walked by Serafall's room with the door partially open.

He was going to walk by and go to his room, when he heard his name being spoken.

"I don't understand, Nao-chan staying at mine is my decision…"

Naota looked into the room, and he saw Serafall stood in her room, with holograms all around her. He presumed they were the so called Old Devils that he had heard about before.

One he did recognize is that of Zekram Bael, who seemed to be leading the meeting between them.

"Do you wish to tarnish your reputation, Serafall?"

Zekram asked this directly, Serafall shrugged.

"I don't really care about such things."

When she answered honestly, Naota felt his face curl upwards into a smile.

Zekram on the other hand looked as if he was going to frown.

"Perhaps you don't, but those on your side, would dwindle. Hosting that child in your home, you understand that his existence is still in doubt. He is a Devil that could be very beneficial to us, or could be the end of us with his Longinus, and his continuously growing power."

Naota watched as Serafall seemed to be rather displeased with what she was hearing, folding her arms in annoyance.

"Assuming the worst, when he hasn't shown aggression to others is rather radical to begin with, isn't it? He is-"

"-A cursed child!" Naota lowered his eyes when hearing that, Serafall scowled. "The longer you decide to keep that child, the more people will turn against you. People are frightened of him, he is an enemy that can end us. And now, he also has the backing of a Maou, people will become truly worried if he is able to continue living in this part of the Underworld-"

"But, he's only a child." Serafall began, showing a saddened look in her eyes. "I still can't believe that this boy, who's done no wrong, is being treated terribly for simply existing. He had no choice in carrying True Longinus, and he has no evil intentions. In fact, by segregating him like this, you're causing reasons for him to despise Devils. Don't you agree?"

Zekram closed his eyes.

Then he opened them, focusing his eyes on Serafall.

"Be that as it may, I heard Diodora Astaroth had an encounter with him, where he appeared to be very threatening, and expressed desires to cause him harm. The same with Zephyrdor Glasya-Labolas, they both said he threatened them with his Longinus, when they were walking back home from the park. We interviewed witnesses, and they agreed with their words."

Naota rolled his eyes thinking "They try to spin it as if I'm the aggressive one, when they harassed that Phenex girl, how pathetic. Heh, those other witnesses either were paid off, or simply don't like my existence and lied..." as Serafall continued on.

"Yes, I also heard of the incident, and he told me exactly what happened. I contacted Ravel-chan afterwards, and she told me what happened, perhaps a witness you didn't get round to interviewing yet? Considering they had no prior interactions, she had no reason to lie about Nao-chan, especially if it painted him in a better light. In fact, it would be the opposite, unless she spoke the truth about this. So I know that to be true, that Nao-chan defended Ravel-chan from being harassed by Diodora and Zephyrdor. Speak with her, and see her side as well."

Naota looked impressed with how Serafall was dealing with it.

But, he also saw that they were unmoving, and looked to always defy what Serafall was saying in her defence of him.

Naota looked on from his hiding place, and thought "She has already done so much for me, I don't want her to have to worry about others going for her because of me." and went to open the door, when he heard Zekram Bael speak.

"Until the moment we deem him not a risk, we will have to take measures to protect ourselves. We cannot be sure if he is an enemy, or an ally. Once his home is fixed, we strongly suggest you have him leave your property, and live there. Good day, Serafall-sama."

With that, the holograms vanished, with Naota seeing Serafall being rather annoyed.

So Naota stepped inside, and peered at the young woman.

"Serafall-sama." Serafall turned her eyes to Naota, who was gently smiling. "I'm sorry, because of me, you're going to be scrutinized as well."

"Nao-chan, I don't care about that. They can say what they want. You're also a Devil too, its fine for you to be here. Though, I'm sorry that people are treating you like that. Lying to try and spread dirt about you, tarnishing your reputation...it really annoys me."

Naota waved his hand towards her.

"Its okay, really. Living in the Underworld, I never expected to be extremely popular or anything of the sort. I live here for me and to further my goals and aspirations. The Old Devils, and Zekram, can hate me for eternity, and it wouldn't bother me."

Serafall found that to be really refreshing.

She loved that even through it all, Naota wasn't someone that gave up and still strived forever forward for what he believed in.

"I'm not a Pure Blooded Devil, and I'm not a pure human either. I'm something else, and I am proud of who I am. The powers I have, I am going to wield them in the name of my goals, and to protect those who cannot protect themselves. No matter if the Underworld deny me, I'm going to show everyone exactly what I am made of, and along with that, I'm going to help those like me...those that might have no one else, I'll be that someone else for them. First, gotta get those Evil Pieces, then I can begin another step towards my goals."

Serafall couldn't help but feel her face lift up in delight, as she leaned forward, and laid a small kiss upon his cheek.

He was caught by surprise when she did that, and placed a hand to his cheek in surprise.

She giggled, and pats the top of his head gently.

"If its you Nao-chan, then I'm sure you'll definitely accomplish many things. I already know you will~"

"Yeah...Serafall-sama, thank you...for taking a chance on me. Not many would do...but you did. I'll be here for you too. I'm going to become strong, as strong as I can be. I do love to fight for the challenge of it, but I also love protecting those I find precious, and you're definitely one of those precious things, Serafall-sama. Thank you, for believing in me."

Serafall felt tears beginning to form within her eyes.

So much so that she ended up embracing Naota tightly.

"Of course Nao-chan. Now show them Nao-chan! The power of a magical boy!"

"Devil human hybrid."

Naota dead panned, Serafall giggled happily.

"Yeah, that too~ A magical Devil human boy~" Naota sweat dropped as Serafall's phone began to ring. "Ooh no…"

Naota looked confused seeing her demeanour changing before his eyes from happy go lucky to suddenly a sullen look to her, as he stared at the phone.

"Isn't that song...Angel of Darkness?"

"Yeah."

Serafall said with a sigh.

"But, really? Angel of Darkness? That's Gabriel-sama, isn't it?"

Serafall stuck out her tongue in a cute manner.

"Yes, its Gabriel." Naota sweat dropped, while Serafall waved her hands side to side happily. "She is an Angel, and it fits, doesn't it?"

Naota shakes his head slowly as she murmurs "Lets get this over with." in a darkened voice, and answers the phone.

[Hello Serafall-san, I'm so glad to catch you~]

Serafall sighs deeply, while Naota gives a disappointing look to her ways with Gabriel.

"Yeah, hello Gabriel."

[Hehe, Serafall-san, how are you doing~?]

Serafall looked tired, Naota could see her demeanour was changing by the moment from happy to one that looked as if she was unsure of what to say.

"Fine, I'm with a precious friend right now."

[Ooh I'm sorry~ I was just calling to tell you that I recently read a new book, and I think you're going to like it~ Its about magical girls~]

"Wonderful, I'd love to read it Gabriel."

[Great! Ooh, also say hello to your precious friend~]

"Yeah, I will...but you can't have him..." Naota gave Serafall a look, so she giggled. "Hehe, my precious friend says hello to you Gabriel."

Naota looked bewildered, and wondered so many things.

Like how they came into contact with one another, how at least Gabriel considers Serafall a friend, but not just those things, other things kept coming to Naota and wondering what was going on.

Those mysteries, would be saved for another time…

That night, Sona was walking out of her bedroom, to go and get a drink, when she saw that Naota was dressed as if he was going out, despite it being rather late.

So she approached him.

"Naota-san, are you, going somewhere?"

Naota paused, and then turned to Sona with a delightful smile.

"Yeah, I have found out where a silver haired girl might be, I'll be back soon enough."

Sona raised a brow at that, and thought "Who is this silver haired girl…?" while she saw that he was beginning to walk away.

"Wait, its late...you have to go now?"

Naota nods without pause.

"Yeah, they might move on if I'm late. I have a hunch about this one, and wish to see if it is true. Sorry, I'll explain later on, promise. Have a good night."

With that, Naota took off out of the castle, leaving Sona perplexed.

Just then, Serafall came out of the shadows, and smiled softly.

"Don't worry Sona-chan, Nao-chan is able to take care of himself. Anyway! Back to bed!"

Sona furrows her brows, looking at her sister, and saw that she looked calm, since she knew that Serafall understood Naota, she believed in her sister as well, and carried on with her own duties for the night.

After finding out about the silver haired individual having been sighted in the human world, Naota went to go and investigate it. He did love to have challenges, and he also did like going to the human world every now and again to see various things.

So he went towards a snowy mountainous area, where he looked around.

"Cold…"

Muttering that out, Naota began trekking through the area.

As he did, he felt the faint traces of demonic power.

"This power...I wonder if it is that girl…? It said Exorcists, and I can sense some holy activity around here...a girl on her own, being chased by Exorcists...I know that feeling all too well..."

So he followed the trace amounts of power he could feel.

Soon enough, he approached what looked to be a cabin in the snowy mountains.

When he felt the power inside, he was taken aback by it.

"This energy...it feels rather strong, its a Devils...is it? Something about it feels different...huh, who could it be? I'll have to get closer to find out who it could be..."

Naota approached the door to the cabin.

Before he reached it, he felt a presence coming behind him, so he looked to see a chimera shooting for him. Flames escaped the beasts mouth, releasing it as a giant fireball for Naota himself.

Raising his hand, Naota formed a barrier of demonic power, blocking off the attack all together.

"A chimera...but there was no sightings of one here before...could it be here for me? Or that girl? Maybe...someone is beginning to get nervous."

As he thought it, another chimera appeared.

He sensed their power to be around Middle Class Devil levels, so he nods and rushed forward.

One of the chimeras came from the right, and tried to crush the young man underneath its giant fist.

Naota vanishes before the fist reaches him, breaking the ground Naota previously was.

The chimera howled, only to feel a hand on the back of his head.

"Vanish."

Releasing a powerful demonic energy, Naota's power eclipsed the head of the beast, taking itj out completely.

Though he didn't get a chance to breathe when the next one came towards him and spat out multiple bullets of demonic energy. The bullets landed all around Naota, as he began dodging out of the way of the attacks.

"True Longinus...here we go."

Naota clapped his hands together, and then spread his hands apart. From that action, his spear, True Longinus began to appear.

Seeing various aura attacks coming for him, Naota repelled the attacks over and over again, minding the cabin that he sensed a weakening demonic power, being able to cut through the attacks, and block them all before they reached him and the cabin.

"Ufu, you are an entertaining chimera-san. But I'm afraid I can't play today, I've got things to do, so disappear."

Naota stuck out his spear, and gathered a holy energy from his spear.

As he did, a vision of a girl appeared at the window of the cabin, and felt the holy energy in the area.

"Another Exorcist…"

Because of her weakened state, she couldn't concentrate, and could only feel the holy power, becoming angered and ready for battle.

Naota himself unleashed a torrent of holy power, barraging through the attacks the chimera sent for him over and over again.

Then the light pierced right through the torso of the chimera, blood gushing out of his body.

But, he also then saw that the body of the chimera was beginning to regenerate from the damage.

"I see, so these now regenerate. But, I took out the head on the last one...alright then, lets blow up your head, and see where that leaves us."

Taking in a breath, Naota went to attack, when he saw a huge fireball coming for him.

So he swung his spear outwards cleaving through it, only to see the chimera now fully regenerated appearing before him, and sent an attack towards him.

"Hah!"

Just in time, Naota parried the large fist that connected with his spear, protecting him from damage, and pushed the chimera back then swung his spear down to cleave off the head, but the chimera pulled away, and instead Naota cleaved the beasts arm off, and cut deeply into the right leg going in a vertical strike.

The beast howled, as Naota took aim with his spear.

"Disappear."

Naota stuck out his spear, and caused it to elongate, shooting like an arrow, and pierced through the head of the chimera, where Naota released his brilliant light, causing the head of the chimera to be completely destroyed.

Exhaling, Naota waited to see if that had done it.

Which it did, so he dismissed his spear, and stretched his arm.

"Good, now to go and see this Devil, she feels like she's getting weaker..."

Turning back to the cabin, Naota trekked forward.

However, before he could reach it, the door flew open and a burst of demonic power shot out of the cabin, and straight for him.

Reacting in time, Naota raised his hand and formed a barrier of demonic power, blocking it fully.

Just then, someone came out of the cabin, and a small fist came flying for him.

Moving in quick speed, Naota caught the fist in the air, and held it so it couldn't be used against him.

As he did, his eyes caught the sight of who it was.

A young girl, with light silver hair, that was messy and reached to the nape of her neck. Her clothes were torn in places, and she had cuts across a few parts of her body.

"Looking this close...is that, holy power…? No, it doesn't feel as if it is coming from her...rather, it feels like she...has been attacked by it…"

Naota looked into her eyes, seeing anger, and frustration.

She then leapt into the sky, and aimed her hand downwards.

Gathering demonic energy, she released it in a burst.

Naota grimaced, and stuck his hand out, revealing his True Longinus to her eyes.

"Hah!"

Naota cleaved through the demonic power, splitting it in two with the spear, astonishing the young girl.

But then she grimaced, and fell down to the ground, writhing in pain.

"Aah...d-damn it…"

Naota looked worried for her, seeing fresh wounds across her body.

So he ran over to her.

"No...back off...Exorcist…"

"No, I'm not an Exorcist."

Naota tried to explain, but she dismissed him.

"You have...holy power...I saw it…"

"I do...but, I'm also a Devil. I'm, half Devil, half human...like you."

The girl looked confused, but then she coughed up blood.

So Naota fished into his pocket, and showed a vial of Phoenix Tears.

"Here, this will help you." The girl looked unsure, as the pain continued to grow inside of her. "I understand you're worried, but if I don't help you, then there's a chance you could die. So please, let me help you."

The girl wore unsure feelings on her face.

But as she gazed into his eyes, she didn't feel hostility.

All she saw was a desire to help.

So she murmured "F...Fine…" which relieved Naota, who moved closer, and began pouring the liquid across her wounds.

"My name is Naota, what's yours?"

"...V...Vali…"

She replied after half a minute of silence, Naota gently smiled.

"That's a nice name."

He continued to fix her wounds, and made sure that she stayed warm by using his demonic power to create fire around them, seeing as the cabin looked as if it offered little to no real protection from the cold, with the holes in the walls, and the broken windows.

However, as he healed her wounds, he noticed that she had fallen unconscious, Naota caught her before she fell into the snow.

Holding her close, Naota could see how many wounds she had, and he thought "How many hardships have you had Vali-san?" all the while lifting her up in his arms, carrying her, and activated a magic circle.

He could sense Exorcists beginning to approach, so he used his power to cause them to vanish before they could attack.

Though the circumstances weren't the best, Naota was happy to finally find someone like him.

Someone that would understand what it was like to be a half human and half Devil.

So this story has Naota, a half Devil and half human, wielding True Longinus. Because of that, the Devils aren't that receptive to him, believing that he could be a true threat to them, and treat him rather poorly. Though for people like Serafall, who Naota has a good relationship with and how they met shall be explored in future chapters, have shown kindness to him.

While that happened, Naota met a few people, such as Ravel being bothered by Zephyrdor and Diodora. Sona and Naota had a rather intriguing first meeting. Kuroka also met Naota for a brief time, and finally Vali and Naota met one another.

Now about Naota, his history, relations and things like that shall also be explored as the story goes on.
