The night before one began their Pokemon Journey was always a exciting time.
Many new trainers often dreamt of going on a journey with their Pokemon and eventually becoming Champion.
And for the heroine of this story, that was just exactly what she was dreaming about.
15-year-old Cynthia Shirona was currently sleeping in her bed, her mind currently racing with thoughts of her going out on her journey tomorrow.
That was until she felt something bump against her bed.
Waking up and feeling a bit groggy, Cynthia soon looked around and saw who had bumped into her bed.
It had been her Gible, the curious little Dragon/Ground type clearly also excited to start their journey.
"Hey Gibs, you are also excited for tomorrow, right?" Cynthia asked tiredly as she petted her partner.
Gible excitedly nodded as she jumped onto Cynthia's bed and snuggled up to her trainer.
Cynthia smiled as she let her Pokemon sleep with her. The heads filled with thoughts and excitement about their upcoming adventure together.
"Happy Birthday Cyn!"
Cynthia looked up from her cereal as her sister was standing in front of her with a present in her hands.
Emily was only two years younger than her, but the two of them clearly adored and loved each other. So, Cynthia knew that she was going to miss her dearly when she left for her journey.
"Thanks, Em what is it?" Cynthia asked as she opened Emily's present.
It was a standard issue Sinnoh League badge case, one that was presented to all trainers taking on the Sinnoh League.
"Isn't it amazing? Grandma contacted Professor Rowan and asked him to give you the badge case early!" Emily said with excitement as Carolina soon entered the room.
Cynthia smiled. Their grandmother was a researcher who studied the legends around Sinnoh's history, something that Cynthia herself had taken quite a interest in.
"I love it thanks Emily." Cynthia said as she hugged her sister. Gible who had been eating her food soon came over and nuzzled Emily too making her giggle.
"Cynthia dear, are you ready? We need to meet Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town soon." Carolina said with a smile.
Cynthia as she got up and put her now-finished Cereal bowl in the sink and soon recalled Gible into her Pokeball.
"Take care sissy and promise you will call me and grandma soon!" Emily said giving her a final hug.
Cynthia hugged her and said she would as she soon went outside where her grandma let out her Staraptor and soon both would head to Sandgem Town.
Sandgem Town was quite a ways from Celestic Town, Cynthia's hometown as soon Staraptor descended safely into the city allowing both Cynthia and her grandmother to get off safely and head to where Professor Rowan's lab was.
Inside the lab, Cynthia saw research assistants and fellow scientists rushing to make sure everything was for the new trainers that would appear soon.
Meanwhile, a guff and well-built man soon arrived at the room. This was Professor Rowan, the region's local expert on Pokemon.
"Ah Carolina, it is good to see you again." Professor Rowan said as he gave his esteemed colleague a hug.
"Rowan good to see you, I assume this is the first time you are meeting my granddaughter?" Carolina said as Cynthia looked at the professor.
"Ah yes, Cynthia is it? Carolina told me a lot about you." Professor Rowan said to her with a smile on his face.
Cynthia nodded as Gible soon came out and ran around the lab causing havoc with the assistants and researchers.
"Gible come back here!" Cynthia said as she picked up her starter and apologized to the Professor.
"Oh don't worry about it! This place could use a little excitement every now and again." Rowan said laughing as one of his assistants soon came out with five Pokeballs and a strange device next to them.
"So these are the Pokeballs that you will use to catch your new Pokemon in and this device is known as a Pokedex, it allows you store and record any information on wild Pokemon that you might come across." Rowan said as he gave the Pokeballs to her.
Cynthia thanked him as she took the Pokeballs and Pokedex from him soon out of curiosity she pointed the Pokedex at Gible to see how it worked.
"Gible, the Land Shark Pokemon. A Dragon and Ground type, It nests in horizontal holes warmed by geothermal heat. Foes who get too close can expect to be pounced on and bitten."
Cynthia was impressed by the device as she put it away. Soon the three of them walked outside of his lab as Cynthia was all set for her journey.
"Alright I think that the first gym is in Orebaugh City, I think you will find that the gym leader is a pretty rocky fellow." Rowan said to her with a smile.
"Thank you so much Professor and good luck with your research." Cynthia said as Professor Rowan nodded and soon went inside his lab.
"All right, I think that it is time for me to go as well. You will call when you reach Orebaugh City?" Carolina said as she went over to her Staraptor.
"I will, take care grandma and see you soon! Tell Emily I will talk to her soon" Cynthia said as she saw her grandmother get on her Staraptor and fly back to Celestic Town.
And just like that, Cynthia Shirona was on her own for the first time in her life. It was weird and scary at first, but at the same time it was also kinda of fun. If she wanted to become champion of the Sinnoh Region she needed to strike out and her own and find her own path like the others before her had.
She soon walked to the edge of Sandgem Town and began to make her way to Orebaugh City as her journey to become champion and one of the strongest trainers in the world had begun.
