A/N: You can skip straight ahead to Chapter One. This is merely an introductory chapter to give some form of background.

Mt. Paozu, Goku's House

It was a rather cold morning atop Mt. Paozu, the air was thin – every breath was visible. This, however, did not bother Goku in the slightest. He punched into the cold air, a firm stance and a determined expression plastered on his face. For the past hour and a half, Goku had been training in secrecy as to avoid a scolding from Chichi. Now that he was a family man, Chichi told him that he had far more important things to worry about – though obviously, that clearly did not stop the young martial artist.

"Man, I sure am hungry…" Goku mumbled to himself as he dropped to the ground, wiping sweat from his brow. Suddenly, he turned his head to the left – something was approaching. "Piccolo?! No... it doesn't feel like him,"

Goku's expression softened into a wide grin when he saw a bald man with a third eye flying towards him. Tien smiled upon seeing his friend and former adversary, landing in front of him.

"Tien!" Goku beamed as the two clasped their hands together in meeting. "You here to spar or somethin'?"

Tien chuckled as he watched Goku immediately get into a fighting stance. "Sorry to disappoint but that's not why I'm here, Goku," he said, sitting down on a rock, beckoning for Goku to sit on the rock opposite him. "I'm here to talk about Piccolo."

"Aw man... you really had me excited for a second," Goku said, frowning. "Piccolo? I asked Kami to keep an eye on him, so everything should be good on that end…" he continued.

Tien nodded. "Yeah, he's been pretty quiet recently. I haven't heard a peep out of him since the tournament," he stated, before sighing. "Which sucks, since I've been looking for an excuse to get rid of him. Earth doesn't feel safe with him around – which brings me to my point. I've been training hard Goku, and I hope you have too. We never know when he'll try to take over the world again, I doubt he's had a change of heart."

Goku mused for a bit, looking away from his friend, his frown deepening. "Yeah, I hear you," Goku responded, turning his gaze back onto the three-eyed warrior with a grin. "But seriously! You've got nothin' to worry about. I'm sure you and I could take him on if we needed to!"

Goku then got up, dusting off his knees and stretching. "You're right with training though! Ever since I had a kid, I've be—"

Tien shot up, his eyes, yes, all three, wide and jaw dropped. "You… you have a kid Goku?!"

Goku tilted his head in confusion, folding his arms. "Yeah! His name's Gohan. I'd have ya meet him but the lil' guy is probably asleep right now," he chuckled softly.

Tien composed himself, coughing. "I see… I wouldn't want you to wake him. That's just… a bit of a surprise, to me," Tien commented, and before Goku could respond, he shot up into the sky. "Well then Goku, if you're sure about letting him go around free, I guess I can trust your judgement. Tell Chichi I said hi!"

Goku smiled as he watched Tien zoom off. "Yeah! See you around Tien!" He then groaned, holding his stomach as it let out a rather loud grumble.

"Man… I'm still hungry..."

Author's Note

Hey, Yahkedo here. I'm quite bad at summaries and blurbs, so I'd like to just make things clear here – this story is first and foremost heavily inspired by Dragon Ball Z: Dynasty by Feraligreater328. You should check out that masterpiece if you haven't already; it's my favourite fanfiction on any platform.

Now, I say inspired, but I will of course be exploring my own concepts within this story – the most glaring similarities will be the presence of a certain set of characters within the main cast of the story.

Overall, I want to make use of each character as much as I can, and within limits, of course. Canon will be played around with a tiny bit, and I will use as much official filler (yes, movie villains) as I can – as well as popular Dragon Ball fan concepts and theories that I have taken a liking to.
